Key figure flag in the planning layout

Hi,
Can anyone explain the importance of the key figure flag in the planning layout?
Regds
Pavan.

Hi Arun and  Zegion,
Thank you for your responses.
Arun, I do not have any aggregates on the cube. I changed the aggregate properties of the Key Figure from SUM to Minimum. this has solved my problem temporarily.
the reason I am saying temporarily because this is a SAP delivered InfoObject. This is for the datasource 0CO_PC_PCP_01. When I read through the documents, it said, SUMMation for Aggregation and Last value for "Exception Aggregation" will display the value of KF as the last value and does not add them up.
Since this wasn't the happening in my query, I changed the Aggregation from SUM to Minimum.

  • Free Chars int the Planning Layout

    Hello IP gurus,
    Is it advisable to put too many free characteristics in the planning layout and in the real time cube . My user is requesting too many chars in the layout and I am suggesting to have it in the report/reporting cube and not in the layout/real time cube. All are actual and nothing to do with planning chars/key figures. Can you please advice what is the best design. Thanks in advance for your help guys.
    Senthil

    Hi,
    You can use free characteristic ,if you are going to plan at that granularity.For input ready query used in planning ,characteristics
    part of aggregation level has to be part of row or column.So check at what granularity you are going to plan for data,then decide design.

  • Key Figure Display in Interactive Planning

    Hello,
    I am unable to display some of the key figures in  SNP Interactive Planning. All these Key Figures are present in Planning book and are also included in the data view.
    Is there any setting wherein I can control the display of Key figure although that key figure is present in Planning book and data view. For Example I have my "safety stock" key figure in my planning book and data view, but I am unable to see the "safety stock" key figure in SNP interactive planning.
    Would really appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Sarath.

    Hi Visu,
    Your answer is really helpful, thanks for that. But while I am trying to hide some key figures it is not allowing me to do so. It is either hiding all the key figures or unhiding all. Please let me know if why the system is behaving like this.
    Thanks

  • Does Fixing Key figure be part of Planning area?

    Hi,
          I saw the post by David and this question popped from there. The answer may be simple but I just want to confirm it.
    If I am fixing a key figure A and storing the fixing information in another key figure B. I specify the Key Figure B in Key figure A definition (RSD1) as the fixing key figure.
    I also know that both key figures A and B are APO key figures.
    Now the question is: Do we need to include both A and B in the planning area and planning book even though I need only key figure A?
    Thanks.

    We can wait for more people to respond, however here is my view.
    Fixed TS Key Figures actually maintains the fixed component of the primary key figure. It can have its own disagg logic and in most business cases, it will be same as the primary key figure. It needs to be intialized for the same time zone as that of the primary keyfigure which is only possible if both the keyfigures co-exist in a planning area. Figuratively take the Fixed Key Figure as a twin of the primary Key Figure which holds only a certain portion of the primary determined as fixed. The fixing logic will not work correctly if its configuration is not similar to the one of primary.

  • Error When generating the plan layout

    Dear All,
    When i try to generate the file description for COPA planning through KP34ER, i get the following error..
    I have checked all four points that they have mentioned. Any idea why this coud be?
    No data has been entered yet.
    Message no. KG845
    Diagnosis
    The planning layout you are using (COPAGI) only contains selection criteria for which no data has yet been entered. As a result, the system cannot display any plan data.
    In this layout it is not possible to add characteristic values. This could be due to the following:
    1. Manual planning is not allowed for the specified record type. Only record types A, F, G, E, and your user-defined record types can be planned manually.
    2. The planning layout was only defined to contain actual data. The plan/actual indicator "1" is nowhere specified.
    3. The selected plan version cannot be planned.
    4. The lead column was defined so that only the texts of the characteristic values are displayed. As a result, no new characteristic values can be added in planning.
    Procedure
    Proceed as follows, depending on what the cause was:
    1. Use a record type that can be planned manually.
    2. None
    3. Choose another plan version that can be planned.
    4. Change the planning layout so that the key of the characteristic values is displayed in the lead column.
    Thank you
    Gayani

    Hi,
    Another possible reason could be, that in the general data selection of the layout is used the characteristic which is not restricted in the plannig package to the single value:
    Example:
    Let say the char. Country is used in the general data selection and is not restricted in the pl. package. Since the value for the
    general data selection characteristic is not possible to enter in the layout, it is not possible to enter any data, because the user
    could not enter for Country and the system doesn't know for what Country the planning is done. If you restrict the Country in the pl. package to single value (e.g. JP) then it will work, since the system knows now, that the data which will be entered belongs to the Country = JP.
    So please make sure, that all general data characteristics are restricted to the single value in the planning package. Then it will work.
    When we specify single value the planlayout can be displayed with "0" because of there is in this case already created (together with values of other characteristics) a concrete profitability segment that exists certainly. That means system can find and display this profitability segment.
    But when we put  interval 0000 - ZZZZ for a characteristic system doesn't know which values from this interval are the valid values  that are able to be displayed for planning.  For example the value 1010 can exist but 2020 does not exist and it would make no sence to offer these invalid values for display of planning data.
    In general, message KG845 in case of selection defined by interval is raised also due performance reasons. Selection
    defined by interval(s) could lead to big number of possible combinations, which should be displayed regardless of fact that no data are already posted in database.
    The idea is following- if there is selection defined by single values, then we don't care about performance and we display data (empty) values as it's fast(regardless of fact that no data are posted in database). In case of selection by interval, performance is an issue because we have to display all combinations of data, which can be generated. This could lead to thousands of possible combinations and long system response. This is not intended and it makes no real sense. Basic idea
    here is that we use different approach in case that selection is defined by interval and different approach, when selection is defined by single value.
    I hope this helps.

    Waman

  • Display multiple combination of values all at a time in the planning layout

    Hi,
    we are on BW 3.0B and SEM 3.1B. We've 2 characteristics "COUNTRY" and "CONTINENT" in planning level and package.
    in the planning layout, we had placed "CONTINENT" in the lead columns and "COUNTRY" in the header are and COUNTRY is hidden.
    Now, when we execute the layout for CONTINENT values "EUROPE and AFRICA" and COUNTRY values "GERMANY and SAFRICA".
    output of the layout is as follows for country GERMANY
    CONTINENT Value
    EUROPE 123
    EUROPE 234
    EUROPE 456
    as COUNTRY is in header, we need to scroll down (use down and upper arrows) to get values for next country SAFRICA combination of CONTINENT "AFRICA" in the layout as follows
    CONTINENT value
    AFRICA 342
    AFRICA 267
    AFRICA 768
    How do we get the layout to display both AFRICA and EUROPE in the same page without a need to use arrows as follows
    CONTINENT Value
    EUROPE 123
    EUROPE 234
    EUROPE 456
    AFRICA 342
    AFRICA 267
    AFRICA 768
    the only solution, i can think of is move COUNTRY from header to lead columns. But, we have a need to keep COUNTRY in the header area. I doubt if we can achieve this, but i have some hope as COUNTRY is a hidden field in the header area which we can take advantage of.
    any help is greatly appreciated.
    thanks

    Hi Marc,
    yes. there u go. my name is hari.
    thanks for your reply. sorry to confuse you. earlier, I just took a random example. Now, I am giving my problem in a more realistic way.
    we have cube data as follows
    Code Area Group Price
    ABCD EUR 111 20USD
    ABCD USA 222 30USD
    Code, Area, Group are not attributes of each other.
    we have a planning folder with variables for "Code" and "Area" with an input layout that has "Code and Group" in the header and "Area" in the lead columns.
    after we execute folder, if we enter values "ABCD" for variable "Code" and variable range "EUR to USA" for "Area", current layout is as follows
    ======
    Header
    ======
    Code : ABCD
    Group: 111  (not visible as Group is hidden in the header area of layout)
    ======
    Layout
    ======
    Area Price
    EUR  20USD
    for next combination, if we use down arrow to scroll down to Group 222, layout is as follows
    ======
    Header
    ======
    Code : ABCD
    Group: 222  (not visible as Group is hidden in the header area of layout)
    ======
    Layout
    ======
    Area Price
    USA  30USD
    we are interested to see all "areas" for Code ABCD irrespective of "Group" as follows.
    if we enter "ABCD" for Code and "EUR to USA" for "Area" variables, we need to have layout
    ======
    Header
    ======
    Code : ABCD
    ======
    Layout
    ======
    Area Price
    EUR  20USD
    USA  30USD
    this might also work out for us.
    ======
    Header
    ======
    Code : ABCD
    ======
    Layout
    ======
    Area Price Group
    EUR  20USD 111
    USA  30USD 222
    How do i achive this? we have a need to keep Group in the header area of the layout to get data from other source.
    hope it is clear.

  • How to filter Key Figures - not using the GUIDs

    An example How to filter Key Figures may look like this:
    http://XXX.com:8000/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=DE&bsplanguage=DE&CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID=XXX&FILTER_IOBJNM=41F68RV4ZB5VYSARODYU70CAQ&FILTER_VALUE=41F68SAI18DB01DO023IR49QA
    The GUIDs consume the space in the URl. Is there a way to work with an alias.
    To use the technical name of a Key Figure defined in the Query does not work.

    Hi Cherie,
    This is exactly the type of problem that I'm currently trying to figure out. I'm trying to following your solution but I'm not clear on how you actually achieved this in you last note. I want to dynamically select actuals/budget column fields based on what period I enter. I thought about creating 12 separate RKF fields for actuals and 12 separate RKF fields for the budget reforecast and outputting these all and then doing some VBA to hide the fields not required based on which period was selected... how is your variable ZFYAPER7 defined and calculated?
    Cheers

  • Identify the planning layout used to enter data.

    Hi,
      I am using BI - IP Planning solution. I have a planning solution with 5 different templates. I have a Infoobject ZSOURCE in my planning cube. I would like to update this field based on the planning layout I used to enter the data.
    I cannot include this field in the planning query or Filter because the actuals do not have this field. I am planning to use Characteristic Derivations to update this field. Does any have any idea on how to access input query parameters during the Charateristic Derivation Exit class?
    Or, Is there a better way to achieve this functionality ?
    Thanks
    Murthy

    Hi Murthy,
    whether a field is filled or not should only depend on the data model, not on a query. This is why characteristic relationships are assigned to real-time InfoCubes, not aggregation levels or queries.
    So my questions is, what is the 'real' criterion to fill ZSOURCE (in some queries and in others not). As I understand, ZSOURCE is not in the aggregation levels so it can be derived based on some criterion. But why is this criterion the used query?
    By design of characteristic relationships you don't get this information in an exit class; though you might 'abuse' a variable exit implementation to read the query name from I_S_RKB1D-COMPID, store in ABAP memory and read the value in your exit implementation. This may work in your case but is not very nice.

  • Unable to find key figure attribute in the cube

    Hi all of you,
    I am struggling while working on this "Display Attribute". Please read this and help me out.
    I want to create attributes and then load data into a cube.
    I had created an InfoArea IA_ATTRIBUTES.
    Under this IA_ATTRIBUTES I created an InfoObject Catalog IOC_DISPATTR.
    Under IOC_DISPATTR I created an InfoObject ZCUSTNUMB which is my primary key.
    After defining the ZCUSTNUMB I clicked on the Attributes tab and entered the other attributes like ZCUSTNAME, ZCUSTADDR, ZCUSTREGI, ZCUSTLOCA, and ZPRICE. All of these attributes except ZPRICE are characteristics WHILE ZPRICE is a keyfigure.
    I've also made sure that the Attributes only check box is not checked for all the characteristics.
    I then activated the InfoObject ZCUSTNUMB and came back.
    Now I created a cube DISP_ATTR. I clicked on the InfoObject Catalog button and selected the above mentioned catalog IOC_DISPATTR and transferred the IOs from the template into the structure.
    Now when I transfer IOs in this way all the IOs both characteristics and key figures should come into the structure of the cube isnt't. But only characteristics have come and the keyfigure ZPRICE hasn't come.
    Moreover when I hit on the key figures tab and hit on the find button and find ZPRICE I am getting a message saying "No (further) object found". So when I hit on the create button and create a key figure ZPRICE I am getting a message saying "InfoObject ZPRICE already exists as Key Figure (please rename)".
    However when I double click on ZCUSTNUMB which is the primary key, the screen "Display characteristic ZCUSTNUMB: Detail" opens. In this screen I find all the attributes in the attributes tab that I had defined while defining attributes including ZPRICE.
    So what I don't understand is when all the characteristics IOs are visible under the characteristics tab then why am I unable to find the key figure ZPRICE under Key figures tab when I created it while defining attributes. Can anyone please explain me this situation and tell me how should I find the key figure ZPRICE so that I can go ahead and create the cube.
    Lastly I want to know what are the differences between InfoObjects and Attributes. Is an attribute also an IO?
    Please explain.
    I would appropriately rewards your answers.
    Thank you.
    TR.

    Hi Oscar Romero,
    Thanks a lot for your reply. As per your suggestion I created another IOC FOR key figures called IOC_ATTR_KF. In this IOC I had included the key figure ZPRICE and activated the IOC.
    Now I have created a cube again ATTR_DISP. On the right corner where we find 5 buttons I clicked on the InfoObject Catalog button. The screen "Select InfoObject Catalog" opened displaying the IOC_ATTR_KF that I had created earlier. When I double clicked on the IOC_ATTR_KF I got the msg asking "Do you want to transfer the IOs from the template into the structure?" I clicked on Yes. But I don't find any key figures either in the Structure pane or in the Template pane. Both the panes are empty.
    I also clicked on the All InfoObjects button and searched for ZPRICE but again I am getting the message "No "further) object found". However when I try to create ZPRICE I am getting the message ZPRICE already exists.
    Please explain me why this is happening like this?

  • How to use a non cumulative key figure in a multi planning area

    Hi
    I'm new to bps, my problem is
    I need to read the last stock quantity and value at plant and material level to do further calculations in a fox formula, so i made a planning area for the cube 0rt_c36 and another for my tc cube where the results should go, then i combine these areas in a multiplanning area.
    problems arise when selecting the key figure in the ratios tab of the multi area, the ratios 0CPTOTSTOBU (last stock) and 0CPTOTSTOPV (last stock purchase value) are not available, only the inflow and outflow ratios are 0CPTOTREBU and 0CPTOTREPV.
    I know when reporting, the actual value for stock is calculated by  bex, namely, there is no data store at database level, so the question is:
    How to obtain last stock for using in bps??
    thank you for any help
    regards
    A. Garduñ

    Hi Azael,
        In the How to Papers, you will find a Guide on how to take a Sanpshot view of the Stocks(How To Handle Inventory Management Scenarios in BW). Basically if you implement the Guide, you will have another cube called ICSNAP1, which will contain stock quantities /values at the end of each month. You will therefore have to take stock at the end of the last month from that cube and add up the relevant receipts and issues to arrive at the current Stock or Stock as on a particular date.
    Hope this helps!

    Sriram

  • Copy Key figure data between two planning area with different storage bucket profile

    Hi,
    I have a DP planning area ' PA1' with monthly storage bucket profile data view 'PA1M' ( monthly TBF) and I want to copy the data to another planning area 'PA2' whose storage bucket is weekly. This would need me to write a custom program which will split monthly to weekly and then populate 'PA2'.
    However, In 'PA2', I created two data views 'PA2W' (with weekly time bucket profile) and 'PA2M' (with Monthly Time bucket profile). If I am able to copy the data from PA1 (PA1M) to PA2(PA2M), it will automatically splits monthly to weekly in PA2W.
    So my question is if there exists a way I can copy key figure data from PA1M to PA2M? Any BAPI?

    Hi Rakesh,
    You can use COPY/Version Management Function to do this.
    Path: Demand Planning > Environment >Copy/ Version Management
    The system takes into account only those periodicities that are common to both planning areas.
    For example, if the data is saved in months in the source planning area (PA1) but in months and weeks in the target planning area (PA2)
    the system copies to months in the target planning area and then Disaggregates the data to the storage buckets in accordance with the Time-based Disaggregation.
    hope this wil help to understand the basic concept.

  • Calculating Key Figure on Fly in BPS Layout ??

    Hello there,
    Here is my requirement. I need to create a BPS Layout (Read Only) which Displays, Sales Quantity, Cost of Sales and Unit Cost. I have Key Figures for Sales Quantity and Cost of Sales. I want to Calculate Unit Cost on BPS Layout.
    Unit Cost = Cost of Sales / Sales Quantity.
    Can some body tell me ho to calculate Unit Cost on BPS Layout?
    Ps: I don’t have Unit Cost Key Figure because I ma not using it anywhere else, It is just to display in the layout.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Edited by: BPSNEW on Feb 15, 2008 3:49 AM

    Hi,
    In the third screen of your layout, goto Tools -> macro -> SAPAfterDataPut -> Edit.
    This will take you to VB editor where you can write the below macro.
    Dim Data_row As Integer, UnitCost As Integer, CostOfSales As Integer, SalesQty As Integer
    Data_row = 3 (say your data starts from 3rd row.)
    UnitCost = 6 (Unit Cost Column number)
    CostOfSales = 4(CostOfSales Column Number)
    SalesQty = 5 (Sales quantity column number)
    DoWhile IsEmpty(Cells(Data_Row,1).Value) = False
    Cells(data_row,UnitCost).value = Cells(data_row,CostOfSales).Value / Cells(data_row,SalesQty).value
    Data_row = Data_row + 1
    Loop
    After writing this macro, in the excel sheet, you can see one icon which says MS Excel Settings. There tick the VBA macro SAPAfterDatePut so that this macro runs automatically whenever you execute the layout.
    Hope this is clear.

  • Key Figure values in the Bex Report are different from the cube

    Hi all,
    When I tried to pull data of the cube, the values of the Key Figure 0Lotsize_cm was showing 100 EA. But when I try to run the query of the cube, then the key figure is LotSize is showing up as 500 EA. I don't understand why this is happening.
    When I checked for Aggregation in the Key Figure. It shows up as "Sum" under aggregation and "Last Value" under Exception aggregation.
    Could some one help me find a solution to this issue.
    I look forward to hearing from the experts.

  • Key figure display in the query

    Hi experts,
    In a query in the columns we have 3 key figures. I dragged a characteristic into the columns and
    executed. Now for each value in the char it is showing all the 3 key figures.
    My requirement is, for only one keyfigure value the characteristic should show the value. For the
    remaining 2 key figures it should not show.
    The remaining key figures to be displayed as normal.
    How to get this ?

    Hi Rao,
    Thanks for the reply...
    My requirement is :
    We have netvalue and cutomer outstanding key figure in the columns.
    I want to drag terms of paymnet characteristic into the columns.
    By doing this the query output will be as follows:
    Terms of payment
    Net value|Customer outstanding
    But my requirement is Terms of payment should be only for Customer outstanding i.e
    Terms of payment
    Customer Outstanding
    It should not take the Netvalue under terms of payment.
    Netvalue should be displayed outside.
    How to do this ?
    Regards,
    Nishuv.
