Key for ODS and Loads

If my key to an ODS is defined in the order:
CALDAY
PLANT
MATERIAL
This means that the records will be sorted in this sequence in that:
1) If I loaded data yesterday and it contain data with a CALDAY range between 01.01.2007 to 01.03.2007
2) If today I load data that contains data with a CALDAY range between 01.01.2006 to 01.02.2007
If I view the data in the active ODS table it will show the records from 01.01.2006 first i.e. the data will not be based on the date the load took place but the order of the key, is this correct? Thanks

Thanks for that. Why I need to know the sort order is because we will be extracting the data from the ODS to a non SAP system. The people who will be working with the ETL tool (built in house) have requested that the data be sorted by date I just wanted to confirm that this will be the case i.e. the lowest date records appear first even though the key is Date, Plant, Material i.e.
Date              Plant     Material
01.01.2006     1000      00001
01.01.2006     2000      00001
01.02.2006     1000      00001
the order is above as opposed to
Date              Plant     Material
01.01.2006     1000      00001
01.02.2006     1000      00001

Invoice is been created successfully in SUS , XML transfered to XI which in turn created the IDOC in ECC.
I get the below error while transferring theinvoice IDOC from XI to ECC.

Diagnosis
In Financial Accounting customizing, the tax ID transferred in the invoice is missing so that the system cannot determine a tax code. The system could not determine an entry with the value V0 nor with the value VAT .
Procedure
In Financial Accounting customizing, include the external tax ID and a corresponding internal tax code for the present partner.
Please let me know if I am missing any setup in ECC as I have already maintained the setup in OBCA, OBCD and OMRY.

It sounds like you are looking for a program like Typinator.
It isn't free, and the site doesn't specify compatibility with any OS above 10.7.
As of today, the latest release is dated May 29th, 2012.

Look up two ODS and load data to the cube

Hi ,
I am trying to load data to the Billing Item Cube.The cube contains some fileds which are loaded from the Billing Item ODS which is loaded from 2LIS_13_VDITM directly from the datasource, and there are some fields which needs to be looked up in the Service Order ODS and some fields in the Service Orders Operations ODS.I have written a Start Routine in the Cube update rules.Using the select statement from both the ODS i am fetching the required fields from the both ODS and i am loading them to the internal tables and in the Update rules i am writing the Update routine for the fields using Read statement.
I am getting an error when it is reading the second select statement(from second ODS).
The error message is
You wanted to add an entry to table
"\PROGRAM=GPAZ1GI2DIUZLBD1DKBSTKG94I3\DATA=V_ZCSOD0100[]", which you declared
with a UNIQUE KEY. However, there was already an entry with the
same key.
The error message says that there is an Unique Key in the select statement which is already an entry.
Can any one please help me in providing the solution for this requirement.I would appreciate your help if any one can send me the code if they have written.

Error in Data activation for ODS data load

We were succesfully loading data (delta load) so far for a CRM ODS. Suddenly, yesterday we are getting am error while trying to activate the data. - "No data packet numbers could be determined for request REQU_48C2T4S91I6GSJ4FNUE727M1Y- Message no. RSAODS119".
We could not even see the data in PSA.
Any clues why this would have happened? tRFC issue?

Hi,
What happens is data packets gets distributed across different Instances/Application Servers.
To distribute users equally on SAP Instances check SMLG Transaction and to distribute RFCs equally on SAP Instances check transaction RZ12
To assign specific BW Instance enter the instance in target system settings. In different source systems different fixed target instances can be assigned.
Check Transaction RSCUSTA2 for load balancing for activation of ODS Object data.

What are the mysterious keys for hide and unhide programs?

There is a strange symbol next to the apple symbol that is part of the hide and unhide short cut keys.
I cannot find what these are after searching help, studying the keys and asking several people.
This must be so obvious it escapes me!
I have the new photoshop elements and it doesn't have the minimize buttons so I need to hide it.

AH! Yes. I guess I never made the connection before because I never use Command-H. I've had a multi-button mouse since the Stone Age, and have always had one button assigned to Option-click, so have always hidden apps by a middle button click on the Desktop. Also I almost never use Command-H to hide selections in Photoshop because I tend to forget I did that and then get frustrated when something like the clone tool doesn't work because I'm cloning outside the selected area.
After reading the blog entry you sent I started experimenting to see which "normal" conventions Elements wasn't following, and, since hiding and unhiding was the topic at hand.... BTW, thanks for the link to the blog. I had never really thought about many of those idiosyncrasies before, like fly-out menus for instance.

Trying to install features for PowerPivot and Reporting Services from SQL Server 2012 with SP2, but no access to key?

Hi,
I had installed SQL Server 2012 PowerPivot on WFE and App Server. This is test farm with 1 WFE and 1 APP and 1 SQL Server.
However, we had a heap of issues with Windows Claims Authentication and PowerPivot - issues were raised with "unable to make a connection to EntityDataSource" . Now we uninstalled the PowerPivot and Reporting Services features and wanted to install
with the SQL Server 2012 with SP2. Originally SP2 was installed seperately and we had read there had been issues.
Anyway on trying to install the features again using the SQL Server 2012 with SP2 iso I get
Could not open key UNKNOWN\Components
I don't want to start deleting or changing permissions as quite dodgey. What is this key for anyway and how do I resolve my issue.

Hi John,
Did you meet the error message during the process of configuring the PowerPivot for SharePoint?
If yes, I suppose that the existing features or components have not been uninstalled completely.
I recommend to delete the two keys left when uninstalling the PowerPivot and please make a copy of the registry keys before you delete the two keys:

Request to let me know based on the requirement below on how to create Infospokes using ascii flat file interface.....
Can we create using ascii file format and would also like to know any other alternate means for the same.
Please provide the steps involved for the same.......
BW/BI - Recovery Process for SNP data.
For each SNP InfoProvider,
create:
1) Export Data:
1.a) Create an export data source, InfoPackage, comm structure, etc. necessary to create an ASCII fixed length flat file on the XI
ctnhsappdata\iface\SCPI063\Out folder for each SNP InfoProvider.
1.b) All fields in each InfoProvider should be exported and included in the flat file.
1.c) A process chain should be created for each InfoProvider with a start event.
1.d) If the file exists on the target drive it should be overwritten.
1.e) The exported data file name should include the InfoProvider technical name.
1.f) Include APO Planning Version, Date of Planning Run, APO Location, Calendar Year/Month, Material and BW Plant as selection criteria.
2) Import Data:
2.a) Create a flat file source system InfoPackage, comm structure, etc. necessary to import ASCII fixed length flat files from the XI
ctnhsappdata\iface\SCPI063\Out folder for each SNP InfoProvider.
2.b) All fields for each InfoProvider should be mapped and imported from the flat file.
2.c) A process chain should be created for each InfoProvider with a start event.
2.d) The file should be archived in the
ctnhsappdata\iface\SCPI063\Archive directory. Each file name should have the date appended in YYYYMMDD format. Each file should be deleted from the \Out directory after it is archived.

you have to goto LISTCUBE. Where you can get the no of records per month.There you have to specify the particulour month of fiscal period.
-Click on manage tab of the cube and go to content and then click on fact table. you can see no. of recs.
-same for ods and click on active table button. you can see no. of records.
-go to Se16
enter table name RSRREPDIR . Press F8
Enter your cube name. also give OBJVERS = A .. execute..
Take the ODS active table name /BIC/AXXXXXXX00
enter in SE16 and enter and click on number of entries button on top.

This depends on requirement.
Generally, SAP std are followed and ought to be followed, as Std config are based on best practices world over.
Still, if you business process requires then take an example,
- use TCode OBYC,
- double click on transaction BSD - Inventory posting
- provide chart of account, if asked.
- check the posting keys for transaction by clicking Posting Key button on the Maintain FI Configuration: Automatic Posting - Accounts screen.

89 - Stock inwrd movement
In Credit
99 - Stock outwd movement

Hi,
NO SIDs are created for ODS,
When Creating an ODS if we select BEx Reporting Check Box then the SIDs for the Master Data will be created.
Actually SIDs are created when Activate Master data and Dimension Ids are created when we Activate Transactiona Data.

Deltas on ODS and Infocube

i need information on how to do deltas on ods. i did two full uploads for ods 0fiar_o03 and then infocube. i need to do delta for this ods and cube. Please give me the steps to do delta for ods and infocube.

How are you doing the full load to ODS 0FIAR_O03. Are you giving any selection criteria.
In order start pulling Delta to the ODS you need to do a Full repair request or else you need to delete the full load requests from ODS and reload using Initialization.
Anways you are loading full load request in to the ODS, so it would be better to load Init Load next time and then start picking up deltas.
Delta to the Infocube is easily possible, by selecting Init in ODS after deleting all the data from the infocube. After that only the delta records from change log will be taken to the Cube from the ODS.
The delta to the cube can be performed irrespective of whether you performa Full load or Delta load in to the ODS.

Dimension values for Unknowns and Invalids

I've created a mapping for loading a particular dimension table which includes a sequence operator for populating my surrogate key values. I need the first record in the table to act as my "UNKNOWN" values placeholder but cannot seem to figure out the best way of populating the table with the values for UNKNOWN prior to loading the source dimensional data. I've tried the Pre-Mapping Process operator with no success.

We are used to add two dummy records in each dimension.
We add the following data:
We use '-1' (surr-key) for Invalids and '-2' for Unknown.
Easy way to populate these dimensions is to add a script together with all objects when you release new functionality. Beware you use the same descriptions.
Even better is to think of a more general solution (more easy to maintain) and store these values in a support table. In such a table you will be able to add more columns to get more details per row. Use this reference table when you load youre dimension. Also you will find the opportunity to add more error handling cases. Especially when you add the dimension in this support table.

Actually the design is completely incorrect.
What you say is
I have
'foo', 'foo series'
'foo','foo model'
'foo',666
By virtue of table3 referring to both table1 and table2.
This means you actually need to have 1 (one) table:
'foo','foo series','foo model', 666
And the 'problem' disappears.

How to create my own Key for Rijndael (JCE Criptix)?

I am developing a communication protocol and the key for encryption and decryption should be the user's password.
This method generates a new RANDOM key:
kg = KeyGenerator.getInstance("Rijndael");
kg.init(256);
k = kg.generateKey();
The problem is that I need to specify my own key (the password).
I'm tried: k = kg.generateKey(byte[] mykey), but don't work.
Any suggestion?

Interesting. Looks like neither the Sun Provider nor BouncyCastle allow you to generate SecretKeySpecs for Rijndael. Surprised me.
What you need is a Provider that gives you a SectretKeyFactory for Rijndael. A quick google on "rijndael secretkeyfactory" gave me this:
