Weird one, the " key (shift+") is outputting a » (double pointer) character in Photoshop CC. Everywhere else works as should...
Any ideas?

Language settings on your system, font substitution options in the type palettes, general issue with the font used. You have not provided nearly enough info for anything more than these generic pointers. Reset your type palettes, check your fonts and use another one, check your language and keyboard settings...

(Input and) output formats from Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac

I noticed that (until midnight PT, anyway) Amazon has Photoshop Elements for the Mac at a lower price than usual. This brings up a question for me: What output formats can Photoshop Elements 6 produce? In particular, can it produce PNG? Also, can it accept PNG as input?

I think that all the formats like .bmp, camera RAW, EPS,PICT, TIFF, Filmstripn, IFF, JPEG, Photoshop pdf, Photoshop RAW,PNG etc are supported for both input and output.

Function key in ALV output

For this you will have to write the a Call back routine you will have to add a custom button in allv
and when your added button is pressed then this routine will be triggred you will have to write a operation for the function code inteh call back routine

If you need to find your serial number, sign in to your Adobe account. When you no longer need the Adobe software on a computer or you wish to move it to another one, you should deactivate the software. See this link: how to deactivate software. Are you familiar with Ink on mac os x?
Normally one needs to have a tablet or device that supports Ink to use all the features such as hand writing recognition and such, but
one can enable parts of it without the proper device.
Anyway, if Ink is not shown in the system preferences, you can go to /System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras and double click on Ink.menu
That puts the Ink icon on the Menu Bar where you can access the Ink preferences from the drop-down menu and then turn Ink on and Show Ink Window
The small window has symbols for the Cmd, Shift, Option and Control keys and then one can press, for example, the Option symbol and set the clone source point in photoshop.
Don't know whether it will work for your students, but thought it was worth a mention.

How do I get the arrow keys to move one character at a time in the address bar or search box?

I can no longer get the arrow keys to advance or retard "one character at a time" in the address bar, the search box, or on any form in Firefox. This feature works in other browsers without a problem. The "Home" and "End" keys do not work either. How do I fix this behavior?

How do I configure the AX to connect to the hub's wireless network? It will only scan one base station Airport Express at a time in the Airport Utility. I think what I am trying to do is use the hub as a router to the two AX's. Is there a specific way to set this up?
To set up the AX to join a wireless network as a "Wireless Client," using the AirPort Utility, either connect to the AX's wireless network or temporarily connect your computer directly (using an Ethernet cable) to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then, try these settings:
Launch the AirPort Utility.
Select the AX.
If not already connected to the AX's wireless network, go ahead and switch to it when prompted.
AirPort Utility > Select the AX > Manual Setup > AirPort > Wireless
Wireless Mode: Join a wireless network

Wireless Security: None OR, if you are using security on your wireless network:

Verify Password: <re-enter the same security password>
Click Update to write the new settings to the AX.

Key Commands corrupt using Configurator in Photoshop CS5

For me, when the Configurator Panel is open common keyboard commands for tools such as the brush or patch tool (any of them) no longer work. There is a brief pause, it switches to the tool you want, and then it reverts back to the tool you were using. Holding the key down will keep it visible, but let go and it reverts back to the tool you were using.
This totally sucks as I've grown quite fond of Configurator. It's a real time saver. Too bad they didn't incorporate a customizable tool panel right into Photoshop...
But at any rate, something seriously wrong here and I can no longer use Configurator 2.0. Hopefully there will be an update...but I won't hold my breath.
Suggestions welcome...I did create a panel from scratch just to see if that would fix things up. It didn't. I tried a panel without any keyboard commands on it (since that is what is effected) and that didn't do anything either.

I'm having exactly the same problem as Lance with the Configurator V2 Panels. It's very frustrating and I've only just worked out that it's the Configurator Panel causing the problem.
It seems a bit intermittent but closing the panel fixes it instantly.

How to display the Option Key / Apple Key / Shift Key sign in a Text Layer

Hello everyone,
I will be doing some ScreenCasts on some application very soon, and already did my captures / sounds. Now I would like to use motion to display a kind of 'Lower Third' to display KeyBoard shortcuts which correspond to some actions.
This will probably sound dumb, but I'm wondering how I could display the sign for the Shift / Option / Apple and other special keys on the apple keyboard in a Text Layer. It's probably something easy, but being rather new to the Apple scene, I have no idea how to achieve that.
Any help would be welcome.

Key with a slash character

Hello,
In my tests I see that when I add a key component that contains a slash character "/", Oracle NoSQL encodes it as "%2F".
For example:
ArrayList<String> majorComponents = new ArrayList<String>();
majorComponents.add("forums.oracle.com/community");
Key myKey = Key.createKey(majorComponents);
System.out.println(myKey.toString());
this prints:
forums.oracle%2Fcommunity
I tried to URLDecode.decode the string before I add it to the majorComponents but it doesn't work.
Therefore, my question is if there is a way to have a key that contains slash characters. Please have in mind that I would prefer not to split the string into multiple components every time a slash character occurs in the string.

Hi,
All Unicode characters are allowed in a key component, including slashes. Your code to create the key is correct, and the key component does contain a slash. The slash is escaped by the Key.toString method for two reasons: 1) to delineate key components, 2) to provide a URI syntax. If you call Key.getMajorPath and look at the component, you'll see the un-escaped slash. The Key.toString javadoc contains complete documentation of the string format.

Hardware Inventory Not collecting Reg Keys with the Underscore Character

We expanded hardware inventory to collect custom reg keys dynamically (from the child keys). While the new WMI class on the machine is able to see all the custom keys, SCCM is not collecting the ones with the underscore ('-') character in the name. Does
anyone know if this is a limitation in SCCM?

Output Slideshow from Photoshop 7 to Elements 7???

I created a slideshow in photoshop 7 with pans and zooms etc. I then 'output' it to premiere elements 7. I go to PE7 and se it in my select album drop down menu but how do I get it into the main editing window? I can add all the photos from my slideshow but then the panning/sooming etc is all lost. I want to add a theme to the slideshow but can't even get the slideshow to show or work in PE7.
Am I doing something wrong?
I'm using Windows XP. Not sure what other techie info you might need. Just let me know.

After you created your slideshow in Photoshop Elements 7, what output option did you use there? Was it "Send to Premiere Elements"? After you hit "Send to Premiere Elements", Premiere Elements 7 should open automatically with your slideshow on the Timeline as well as a copy in the Media Panel.
You can go from that point directly to export, such as DVD-VIDEO. But, if you want to do further edits, you can right click the slideshow on the Timeline and select Break Apart Slideshow, followed by making your edits.
So, I am not too clear on what you meant by "I go to PE7 and se it in my select album drop down menu but how do I get it into the main editing window?
So, how does what I described differ from what you are actually doing?
By the way, what are the pixel dimensions of the photos going into this slideshow and how many of them are there? Those pixel dimensions should not exceed 1000 x 750 if you are heading for DVD-VIDEO export.

Software bug - playlist update via short key shift + shuffle

In my previous 4G IPOD + Itunes 5.7 you could "re-shufle" the playlist by pressing shift + shufle button (as indicated in the short-key help in Itunes). This way if you added new albums which fall into the criteria of the playlist, you could re-sufle the playlist (otherwise the new album will be added at the end of the list instead of distribut the songs through the shufle list). Now with the 5G it does not work because although it shows re-shuffled in Itunes, it does not actually do anything on the Ipod therefore there is a mistmach of the sequence of the playlist in Itunes vs Ipod. Where can this bugs be reported in order to get them fixed?

I have found this same problem with my 60GB. I create a playlist and add songs to it. While it is connected and in iTunes I select the playlist and hit shuffle. The playlist shuffles. When I eject and view the playlist on the iPod it is in the exact order that I created it. Not the shuffle that is displayed thru iTunes. I was able to do this on my 3rd gen iPod with no problems.

Does key comparison work for character arrays?

I am using the berkeley db(C) to store a 2-column table with key as a character array(not strings). Even though I can see that a record is present when i display all records, I cant get that record using the get function with the correct key. Is there a problem with key comparison? How does berkeley db check two keys for equality? Is there a way around this?

Your code posting was messed up due to the indexed addressing (the i in square brackets) which is in fact the italic start tag. You can put some spaces inside the square brackets, and make sure to enclose your source code between pre tags ([ pre ] <code goes here> [ / pre ], remove the spaces).
So, I assume you are trying to store a line of the bi-dimensional char array.
key.data = a + i;
key.size = sizeof(a[ i ]);
// char *aa = "0a0s0d0f0g0h0j0k0l0q0w0e0r0t0y0f";(I've changed the name of this pointer to distinguish it from the array)
aa points to a sequence of chars (a string in fact) that should be the same as the ones in the line of the bi-dimensional char array, line that was stored as key in the database, right?
key.data = aa;
key.size = sizeof(aa);Now, here is the problem. aa is a pointer to char, thus sizeof(aa) is 2B or 4B (depending on the pointer type, near or far) on a 32-bit machine. So, you're performing the search looking only for the match of the first 2 or 4 chars. Change that line to key.size = strlen(aa); or key.size = sizeof(*(a + i)); (the same as key.size = sizeof(a[ i ]);, a being the char array).
