Keyboard accelerators in appmenu issue

I am using kde 4.9.98.
I have installed appmenu-qt and appmenu-gtk2. Using kwin oxygen decoration, so the menubar is shown as a button in window title.
So far so good. Both gtk and qt apps works fine and the menu appears just like a button as expected.
The problem are keyboard accelerators.
If you hit Alt+F most applications should show the file menu. However if i do that nothing happens. The workaround is to first click in the appmenu button, then keyboard accelerators works fine, but not before.
Anyone using appmenu have experienced the same problem?

Anyone?

  • Using apple keyboard w/PC XP issues

    Hi all,
I'm running a DELL laptop (yes I know, first mistake)....and I have bought a Apple keyboard w/numeric pad. The problem I'm having is when I open up my browser where it be Google Chrome or Internet Explorer, the bottom of the screen comes up and starts flashing. It is basically the HTML of the site and sometimes shows it. I can't figure out what is causing the conflict. Right now, there is no conflict and it is working perfectly. Rebooting doesn't solve the problem either. It does it when it wants to and does it 90% of the time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Actually it does have to do with the Apple keyboard because the keyboard states you can use it with a PC. I have tried another keyboard and the problem does not happen thus its an Apple/PC conflict.
You did not mention another keyboard in your previous post and we can't read you mind.
The keyboard has nothing to do with the way a webpage is displayed so I still fail to see how it's the Apple keyboard.  Like I said, run the computer for several days without the Apple keyboard and if the issue appears, you will have definitive proof that it's not the Apple keyboard.  But if it does NOT appear, that does NOT mean that it must be the Apple keyboard's fault.  (You can't prove a negative.  Google that if you dont' know what that means.)
I don't see our conversation going in a way that you'll like after this so I'll stop here (unless someone posts areasonable and logical possibility and solution that I can contribute to.)  Otherwise, luck be with thee!

  • KeyBoard Accelerators

Dear Oracle Developer Community & Support Team!
I've got a problem trying to use 'KEYBOARD ACCELERATORs'.
    I've made these steps:
    1) For one of my menu items I defined the 'Keyboard
    Accelerator' property as 'Accelerator1'.
    2) In my Oracle Terminal resource file 'FMRUSW.RES'
I've made a proper key binding for 'Accelerator1' action as F12
    3) When I've run my form, pressed F12 and get the following
    error: FRM-10200.
I'd be very thankful for any advices.

    Sorry, the error was FRM-10200.
    And the menu item had that text: message('Hello World!');

  • MacBook Pro Keyboard and tracking pad issues

I bought a refurbed macbook pro from Apple about 10 months ago. I've loved everything about it . . . until now. Yesterday I turned it on and started having keyboard issues. First the y key wouldn't work, then the rest of the keys followed. At that point, it was still starting up normally, but then the tracking pad would only "right click" on items on my desk top, so I couldn't open applications.
Now it will only open up in safe mode and it makes a noise like I'm pressing all the keys at once at start-up. Nothing happened to it between Saturday night when it was working perfectly and Sunday morning so I'm mystified. I brought it to the genius bar this morning and they also couldn't see what was wrong. Genius said something about how some keys looked "stuck" but mentioned it didn't looked like anything was spilled on it or anything.
The only "weird" thing about it is that the hing between the screen and the keyboard has always been a little loose but I didn't know until my husband bought a new pro a few months later and I felt the difference. The genius didn't seem to think that would mean anything.
They told me it would be at least $280 to send it out, diagnose, and fix it. Considering it's less than a year old, I'm a little reluctant (and poor) to do that right way especially since he had no clue what the problem might be.
I'm planning on trying another Genius Bar to see if they might have a better idea (hey, it worked with my ipod once) but I've been combing the message boards to see if anyone has had a similar issue. I found an older thread that talked about 2008 pros haven't issues with the keyboard and trackpad freezing due to a "faulty pressure connector" so I might try that solution when I get home. But any other ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
If you bought your Mac from Apple 10 months ago, it should still be covered by the 1 year warranty and as long as the problem was not caused by accidental damage of some sort, it should be repaired at no cost to you. Was the store aware that you were still under warranty?
You can even upgrade to 3 year Applecare if you do so before the first year of ownership is up--definitely something to do if your Mac is having troubles already.
When you see the next genius, make sure they know you are still in the 1 year warranty period, and if you can, upgrade to 3 year Applecare.
You can also call Applecare on the phone and tell them about these problems and ask them for a case number, which will at least establish that they started while you were still under warranty. If a problem first occurs under warranty, Apple will honor the warranty until the problem is fixed, even if the warranty runs out in the meantime.
    Good luck!

  • The old "sleep using keyboard commands" not working issue is back again

All the way through Leopard the keyboard shortcut for "sleep" wasn't working.
Then in SL it started working again.
Now in 10.6.7 it isn't again.
    All constructive suggestions welcome.

I have exactly the same trouble that Tom has (or had?)
I get this in Console, endlessly repeated. I have the slim aluminium keyboard plugged into USB and the mouse is plugged into the USB on the keyboard. It does not make any difference if anything else is connected to the Mac or disconnected - hard drive, printer etc.

  • Apple Keyboard USB Low Power Issue

OK. I'm using a Windows machine and my G4 for a project and to save space and complexity I bought a Trendnet TK-207 USB switcher to use one keyboard, my G4's, and one mouse, a Mighty Mouse.
Both mouse and keyboard work fine powered by the HP machine but on the G4 side only the mouse works. MacOS thinks that the keyboard will draw too much current and so doesn't let it work. Since the keyboard works through the TK-207 I know that it doesn't physically draw too much but using System profiler I read that the TK-207 will supply 100mA and that the keyboard is asking for 250mA.
My question is this. Is there a way to fool MacOS into thinking that the keyboard requires less, which it does, so that I can have it plugged into the switcher all the time? Right now my work-around is to plug the keyboard directly into the G4 when I'm switched to the Mac side and to plug it back into the switcher when I'm using the HP. Not terrible but the one button push would be faster.
I've thought about buying a USB Y adapter to power the keyboard and have it inserted between the TK-207 and the keyboard. I would plug the 5V only side of the Y into a 500mA powered hub but I'm not sure MacOS would recognize that the keyboard would be getting power from another source since the data/power side of the Y would be plugged into the TK-207.
An odd situation, to be sure, but maybe someone out there knows more than I do - not really much of a stretch there. Thanks to anyone who may have an idea or could tell me that a Y adapter would work. After all, the cost of the adapter is only $15 so not much of an investment there.

I have done that. I also have tried plugging it in to a PCI USB 2.0 4-port card that according to system profiler should have 500mA available. I also have plugged it into a 7-port USB powered hub, again with 500mA/port available, with the same result, a "low power" message. It's definitely a software issue with MacOS since the keyboard works fine plugged into the kvm switch with the kvm switch getting its power from a usb port on the back of the HP computer. What I think is happening is that the embedded sofware in the kvm and the keyboard are being read by MacOS and since the kvm says it can only deliver 100mA and the hub in the keyboard says it can deliver 500mA, and the keyboard says it requires 250mA, MacOS won't let it operate. My workaround is simple, plug the keyboard directly into the built in USB port on the G4 when I'm using the Mac, but it sure would be nice to just toggle the computers using the kvm switch only.

  • Bluetooth keyboard and mouse disconnect issue

I have a 20" Aluminium iMac with the bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Recently i've started to have some issues where the keyboard keeps disconnecting & reconnecting, also the mouse going slow and jerky. They have been working perfectly fine for the past year but only recently started to play up. I have gone into bluetooth prefs and deleted them and re-connected, this seemed to be a temporary fix but after a while it started again, although not as bad as before. I usually leave my Mac on all the time and just put it in sleep mode, the issue now seems to be waking it from sleep as well. I have tried restarts and re pairing as i said before but nothing seems to be solving the issue. Any ideas or fixes would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

I'm experiencing the exact same problem. I have an MacBook with the bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I've had them for about a year and they've worked perfectly; this problem has only showed up in the last couple of weeks. I didn't know whether it was a hardware problem or software (perhaps a recent software update), but considering the exact same thing is happening to someone else I'm inclined to think software rather than hardware.
The keyboard disconnects and reconnects (immediately) a couple of times an hour. It's not such a problem with the keyboard, but whenever that happens, the mouse goes very slow for several minutes, until it finally works out. The mouse doesn't disconnect (I have hardware growl on and am notified of disconnections/connections); it just goes very slow.

  • HP PROBOOK 4530S KEYBOARD AND BEEPING SOUND ISSUES

Hello guys, I'm in desperate need of your expertise. I promised my friend I'd fix her laptop , she had wireless issues and wanted me to re-install win 7 ultimate x64 on her laptop. Before installing there was no issues with her keyboard or whatsoever. After installing a fresh copy the computer started to exhibit some problems for your information I hadn't even started to install drivers. just turned on the computer and saw that windows key and alt key next to it wasn't working and computer will make stupid beeping sound while loging in to windows like a key's stuck and even eject the dvd drive occasionally. Sometimes it will become unresponsive while bipping, i need to hit random keys to fix it. I've searched forums and all over ppl saying unplug the battery and ac wait some. done that no fix. Uninstall Hp power assistant program it wasn't even installed but i installed it tried and again didn't work then i uninstalled it to see it fixed anything again no fix. there were suggestions about synapse drivers re-installing them etc. still no fix. manually deleteing drivers from computer manager still no fix. I'm so ashamed I took her computer to fix but broke something else instead. please guys I need help asap!

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59001-59500/sp59291.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the following link.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52001-52500/sp52145.exe
When the reinstallation has completed, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' ( or Speakers/HP ) once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

  • Multiple Problems Involving my new laptop [Keyboard][wireless mouse][application issues]

My laptop only gives me the following information on the stickers:
    Lenovo G580
    Model NO: 20157
I received a laptop from my dad and the more I use it the more stuff i seem to run into.
The first problem i noticed was that two of my arrow keys would not work on my keyboard and I need those keys to play a couple of low-end games that i like.
Next i noticed that my wireless mouse would act weird when I attempted to use it. It would constantly double-click when i only clicked once and i have replaced the batteries multiple times. It only happens on this computer.
Another problem is that i have the desktop version of skype installed. Sometimes it crashes and refuses to close. I've tried task manager and the command line. When I use "taskkill /F /IM skype.exe" it tells me i do not have permission even when i launched command line as administrator.
After using Windows 8 for a few months,i really hate it. I absolutely cannot stand the new operating system. I gave it a try and if i have to live with it for much longer I will go insane.
I have tried to install Ubuntu but the disk refuses to load. Im sure it has something to do with secure boot, but the option to disable it is greyed out and im unable to change it.
Anyone who can help me with any of these issues would be awesome.

  • External Keyboard (FN button) & Mouse issues...

    Hi all,
I hope you can help me. I have a new iMac late 2013 and it was working perfectly fine until I updated to Mavericks.
    I now have two issues:
    1) Keyboard: I use the official Apple wireless bluetooth keyboard (the short one) and the FN button + all the F buttons are now wierdly mapped (i.e. F11 does not lower the volume...it launches Dashboard instead. F1 does not lower luminosity etc...). There is also no 'enable F1, F2 etc...' option in my Keyboard Preferences, it just does not appear. It seems that Mavericks is just not recognising that I am using an Apple keyboard and has decided to map things according to a standard keyboard. I have changed some of these back manually but - for example, volume buttons still do not work.
    2) Magic Mouse: all scrolling functionalities are gone...I can't scroll in Chrome or Firefox or other programs...
As a side note - the Bluetooth option is not available either, when I click it it says 'Bluetooth is not available right now'. It's as if Bluetooth is just not recognised and so the devices only partly work.
Is this a common issue? How can I fix it?
PS: already tried safe mode reboot and SMC reset - neither worked.

I found a solution after a lot of browsing in the forum:
    - Threw this in the bin: Macintosh HD > Library > preferences > com.apple.bluetooth.plist
    - Shut down the Mac (not a restart) > power off keyboard and mouse > restart mac
This time the mac picked up the mouse and the keyboard (it actually showed the icons on the screen) and they are back to normal! Bluetooth utility is also back.
Not sure if this will work for everyone but it did the trick for me!

  • Keyboard Glitch T430 - Pressure issue?

    Hi All,
Looking for some help here. I am having a really strange glitch with my T430. It seems whenever I put pressure on the left side of the keyboard, or on the bottom of the laptop directly below the windows button, the laptop goes to the screen where you can scroll through open applications. ie when you hit windows+tab. I don't think that this would be a software glitch, right?
I have installed a Crucial M4 256gb HDD in this. I doubt that this would be the problem though. Any ideas? It operates just fine as long as I don't put too much pressure on it. It's such a strange thing to be happening.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dan

try to take the keyboard off, and then reinstall it back.
Follow the T430 HMM for the installation instruction.

  • CVS keyboard accelerators lost after restart

    Hi
I set up accelerator keys for CVS edit (F10) and CVS commit (F11). Whilst JDeveloper is running, these keys work fine and I am able to edit and commit with these shortcut keys.
However, when I restart JDeveloper, the settings are lost and I have to set the keys again - (I have to do this each time I restart JDeveloper).
When I set keys F10 and F11 to other accelerator shortcuts such as make selected or run selected these work fine, even after restarting JDeveloper. The problem only seems to be with the CVS commands.
Do I have to some additional configuration for the CVS accelerators?
I am using JDeveloper 9.0.3.1 and the problem occurs on both Windows XP and SUSE Linux 8.1.
    Thanks
    Usman

I'm seeing this problem with set accelerators being lost after restart with JDeveloper Preview 10.1.3.0.2.
I set an accelerator to an external tool (Tomcat Startup and Tomcat Shutdown) and the accelerator is gone after I restart JDeveloper.
I apologize if this is a known bug in Preview... I did a cursory search through the forums and only found this one.
    Thanks,
    Chris

Also I've tried to reinstall the specific packages (kdebase-runtime contains country flags icons, and kdebase-workspace contains the kxkb) with -Rd and then -S, but it doesn't help as well.
