Keyboard and Mouse after Window 8 Login

We are using Windows 8.1 in Dell PC. Since installation it was working fine for last 2 months. Today morning when i boot the computer once boot screen over, keyboard and mouse got freeze and was not able to move the same.
1. Kb and mice is working fine in Bios setup.
2. Not able to boot with Safe mode in windows 8.1 even i tried with shift + F8 option.
3. Not able to refresh the PC.
4. Not able to restore old restore point as it shows no restore points.
5. Not able to Upgrade the OS.
We don't have any other options to try with this. We were happy while working with Windows 8. but such these irritating issues surely one side back step for Microsoft. Please sort out this issue ASAP. Advance thanks.

Hi,
Did you have touchpad to control the computer?
If so, I suggest you try to disable fast boot to check the issue since this issue can be caused by failing to load drivers:

Please Help, i tried to install Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit via BootCamp on an 27" iMa (Late 2013)
Everything works well while the Installation, the compelte Installation finish without any Failure.
After the "last" Reboot, the Screen on which the Windows Username must be entered is shown.
And from that point no Mouse or Keyboard works (tried several Devices).
I Tried round about 20times to install it on different ways, with Upgraded USB 3.0 Drivers, on onother iMac, with different Installation Guides, with external USB Drive, with ISO File, with Original DVD and, and , and - NOTHING Works, always the same failure. It seems that there is an issue with the USB Drivers. Im Wondering because of the red light in the headphone jack, which goes on exactly after booting Windows up .....
Plase Help with any Idea, I am at my wit's end

I have similar issues, but it is not a USB 2.0 issue.
I have a classroom with 25 brand new 21" tapered edge iMacs Core i5, 2.7GHz, Model A1418 EMC. The are stock machines, with 8GB RAM and 1TB hard drives. They do not have hybrid drives.
My plan was to get one set up exactly as I wanted it, with OS X Mavericks, and then run Boot Camp and install Windows 7 64bit, splitting the HD into two equal 500GB partitions. I did this, and it worked great. Got it all set up perfect. Then I was going to clone the HD using Acronis, booting from an Acronis bootable flash drive, and then clone the new machine with the system image from the old one. This is how I had done it previously, with older versions of iMac. It had worked in the past. No so here. Whenever I tried to boot from the Acronis flash drive (a USB 2.0 stick), by holding the option key upon boot and selecting it from the bootable drive menu, it freezes. I tried using DeployStudio to clone the drive and restore it to a new machine. That actually succeeds, but when I try to boot the Windows side, it fails to boot, giving me a screen that suggests I boot with a Windows Repair Disc and repair the installation. Here is where my issue gets similar.
If I try to boot from an external CD (USB 2.0), it gets to the initial screen asking for country/language, but I do not have a cursor, nor does the keyboard work. I have to reboot by holding the power button for 5 seconds. I have also tried booting from a bootable USB 2.0 flash drive. Same result. No matter what method I try to repair Windows, it boots to that initial Windows screen and then I can go no further.
I am using a wired Apple Keyboard and wired mouse. I have tried switching to generic PC keyboards and mice. No love. I have tried switching USB ports. Nada. I have tried multiple flash drives, recreating the restore CD, and have tried using Acronis, DeployStudio, and Windows own recovery software built in to Windows 7. The result is always the same...cloning the drive *technically* succeeds, but Windows will not start. Any attempt to boot from external media works, but gets to the point where it asks for the country/language and the keyboard and mouse do not function, so I cannot go any further. At this point, the only thing I can think to do is to go and install Windows on each machine individually. Ugh. It will take weeks.
Thoughts?

Trick for Pairing Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse With Windows 7 in BC 3.1

My Mac:
Mid-2007 iMac 20", 2.4 GHz; OS X 10.6.2; Windows 7 Home; Boot Camp 3.1
My Problem:
No matter what I tried, including all kinds of tips and tricks found in this forum and elsewhere on the web, I could not get my Apple aluminum bluetooth keyboard and bluetooth Mighty Mouse to pair in Windows 7. Windows 7's bluetooth setup panel would see them, from time to time, but never connected.
The same pair connected quite easily with Snow Leopard, and the keyboard connected before I installed BC 3.1 in Win 7 (never did get the MM to connect in Win 7 with BC 3.0). But with BC 3.1 in Win 7, it was no dice for either one until I made an accidental discovery.
While prepping another Apple bluetooth aluminum keyboard for my wife's Mac Mini, it was seen by my iMac's Win 7, which wanted to pair with it.
Aha! A Big Clue! The Win 7 BC 3.1 generic bluetooth drivers wanted to pair with an aluminum keyboard that wasn't already paired with the iMac. So, I booted back into Snow Leopard, connected a USB mouse and keyboard, renamed the bluetooth mouse and keyboard, and then deleted them. I rebooted back into Win 7, then easily set up both renamed mouse and keyboard which paired quickly with Windows.
Note that I first tried deleting them from the Snow Leopard side first, but Win 7 still wouldn't pair with them. That's when I went back to Snow Leopard and renamed them but didn't pair them with the iMac until it was booted into Win 7.
Finally, I rebooted back into Snow Leopard and paired the keyboard and mouse with OS X. Done.
Hope this trick/tip/hint helps someone else with keyboard and mouse bluetooth pairing problems.

You're welcome. My discovery was quite accidental, but that's often how things happen ... if you're paying attention and are looking for clues.
Sorry you had to trial and error before you succeeded, but as you've probably found, it is necessary to rename the bluetooth devices first, then delete them from OS X.
I don't understand why this trick was necessary, or even what caused it to happen. I've got 6 Win 7 installations via Boot Camp on 6 Intel Macs (2 white MacBooks, 1 Unibody MacBook, a Core Duo Mac Mini, a 27" iMac and the 20" 2.4 Mid-2007 iMac). All were running 10.6.2 and Win 7 (aren't Family Packs wonderful?) via Boot Camp 3.0 more or less without problems, except as noted in my first post.
Only the 20" iMac had problems after the Boot Camp 3.1. Not only did I have a devil of a time pairing the keyboard and mouse, but I also lost the Win 7 activation on the iMac 20" and the OS X partition started showing up as "EFI Boot". All happened right after I updated Boot Camp 3.0 to 3.1 via download from Apple while running Win 7.
I've heard reports of other Mac users discovering Boot Camp had done a FUBAR job on their machines, but this is my first experience. My guess is that there's some dialogue going on between 10.6, Win 7 and Boot Camp that shouldn't be happening. What I really don't understand is why my other 5 Macs didn't have any problems at all with the Boot Camp upgrade to 3.1. Let's hope the Apple Boot Camp team can reverse engineer my discovery and improve the next version of BC.

Lockup keyboard and mouse after Windows7 update

Logitech mouse RX250
This problem starts at october 16th:
After automatic updates of Windows the keyboard and mouse locked. Only by start in secure mode, and return with widows system restore to an earlier point it is possible to activate keyboard and mouse again.
Now I switch off automatic updates, to prevent that the system hangs again.
The Microsoft forum is not clear about this error, could it be something in relation to the HP computer?
Any help is welcome.

Hi,
There were some issues with the last batch of critical/recommended Windows Updates this month.
One of the updates disabled USB 2.0 device drivers from a specific USB vendor. I have found a web reference that may explain what has happened to you. I think the update was removed from Windows Update. This article may shed some light on your problem.
You may want to install each update manually till you find the one causing your problem. Sadly, when you find it you will have to system restore again and avoid that update. Or Microsoft may have pulled the offending update.
Is it an HP issue only? Impossible to comment on.
I have updated four HP systems, a Dell laptop, and a custom built system with no issues.
You really don't want to disable future Windows Updates permanently.

Installing Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse in Windows XP Bootcamp

I just installed windows XP in bootcamp. Problem is that my bluetooth keyboard and mouse aren't connected. Short of getting a USB mouse to connect them, is there any work arounds?

Ultraslim Plus keyboard and mouse issues with windows 8.1 (hesitation/jerkiness)

I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing issues with their Ultrslim Plus keyboard and mouse after the update to windows 8.1? Mine seems very hesitant missing lots of key presses and the mouse pointers movement accross the screen is jerky. I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers but it still isn't working like it was yesterday. Batteries for both show as 100% and nothing else has changed.

My mistake. I'd installed version 1.5, the updated version 1.8 (specifically mentions windows 8.1 on download link) works perfectly.

IMac crashes since new keyboard and mouse arrived

Recently picked up the new wireless keyboard and mouse after my old set finally died and once I got them both working I started to experience constant system crashes including restart messeges and random software just quitting out without cause. The iMac worked fine before I got teh new kb&m, but I ahve never heard of new accessories causing a computer to freak out like this. The computer is currently running Tiger. Any ideas?

Suggest that you repost over in the Bluetooth Keyboard/Mouse Forums where the wireless folks hang out.
Also, since you have an Intel iMac, you may wish to cross-post over in the Using your Intel-based iMac Forums.
You should also indicate which version of Tiger you are using.

Apple Wireless Keyboard and Mouse + Bootcamp = screensaver problems

I can't seem to get the screensaver to activate when using the apple wireless keyboard and mouse under windows XP with Bootcamp.
I know its a problem with the wireless devices because if i restart the computer and not press anything (ie. mouse or keyboard) then the screensaver will work.
However as soon as I press the mouse or move the cursor around, the screensaver will fail to activate on its own, or if it activates, it will wake itself up even if I don't move the mouse or press the keyboard.
Any solutions?

Hi Capfred: Thank you for your replay. I have tried to follow your information but unable to solve the problem. I followed your comments but I am unable to get to the menu you mention. I have installed MAC OS X, Version 10.7.2 .
The only thing that works is the Apple last wireless mouse. I belive that I must have done something that created this situation. My problem is that I live in Panama, Central America and the local Apple dealer has little to no tech support.
Would it be possible for me to call you and review the config of these items or is there a way to restore the Macbook Air to the original installation .

Keyboard and mouse not working correctly after installing Windows 8.1

I was forced to upgrade my computer to Windows 8.1. My keyboard worked fine until the sytem did a reboot. Numbers on keypad stopped typing and letters were being capitalized when the caps lock was off and the numbers across the top will only type the symbol above the numbers.
I looked up this problem and it seems I need to enter UEFI settings and disable Intel XHCI mode. When I get into the UEFI settings I cannot make any selection from the startup menu. Both my keyboard and mouse stop working.
Any suggestions?

keyboard and mouse have intermittent lock up, but i can get both to work fine after many restarts new battery, power supply every thing else in on the motherboard. sometimes the mouse works and the keyboard doesn't and the other way around, please help i am at a loss and have been doing this for many years

Just to let you know that I found the issue. After uninstalling my antivirus software and rebooted the lappy, the problem went away. I figured out that was due to my license subscription got expired.

I have some issue when installing windows 7 pro 64 bit using boot camp. after done partitioning the windows drive and when boot to windows installation process, i've got stuck in the first screen when choosing the language. it seems that the keyboard and mouse are not detected.

I have finally successfully installed Windows 7 x64 on MacBook Air 13.3" (2013) thru Bootcamp.
Problem: After Windows 7 install thru BootCamp, I got to the first login screen and not input devices (Mouse, keyboard, USB) worked. I tried to boot into Windows Safemode, but I received the error "Windows can not complete installation in Safe Mode".
Cause: WIndows 7 does not have native USB 3.0 drivers, included on the install images.
Resolution: I downloaded the latest device drivers with thru BootCamp and copied them to the USB Flash Drive that had my bootable Windows 7 x64 install on it. The second option in BootCamp is "Download Support Media". This does more than just download drivers. It creates a file called "autoattended.xml". This is key as it tells Windows during the install process to use the device drivers that you download. Otherwise, you need to do it manually, which you can't because you have no mouse or keyboard.
NOTE: I had no need of a super drive because I had all the files on one USB flash drive. Therefore, I don't think it matter which side of the MBA the USB drive was plugged in, as other solutions suggested.

Macbook pro does not respond to bluetooth keyboard and mouse at login screen

i've seen this question floating around and i don't think i've found one that has been resolved. i'm hoping someone may have an answer by now.
i do not have this issue when i boot into windows 7 (bootcamp) the macbook pro responds to keyboard input and mouse input immediately on the windows 7 login screen. when i boot into mac, there is no response from either. i've seen suggestions of waiting for 30 secods. i still get nothing after waiting for over a minute.
what i do right now is use the built-in touch pad and keyboard of the macbook pro to get past the login screen. once i'm logged in, i can see that the bluetooth devices are not yet connected (the three dots that go across the bluetooth symbol at the top right of the screen are not yet there). then after a while, maybe about half a minute, the bluetooth keyboard and mouse are connected and i can use them normally.
it is not a big deal but it is very annoying.
i am using a logitech bluetooth mouse (v740) and an adesso bluetooth keyboard (wkb-4000bm). i also tried an azio bluetooth keyboard and had the same issue. all these keyboards are made for mac.

just a correction, the keyboard and mouse don't always automatically reconnect once i'm logged in. most of the time i have to go click the bluetooth icon at the top right of my screen, select the mouse and then select "connect". i have to do the same to the keyboard.

No usb keyboard or mouse after building image for M81,82,and 83?

i have built an image using imagex and with dism but after imaging a machine (lets say a M83) it will take the image but once it comes to the screen to type the name i have no keyboard or mouse. let me be clear that this image is for a M81, m82 and an m83. i have injected drivers for the m83 but this will kill the keyboard and mouse on the m82. i have also tried to inject m82 drivers and this kills m83. so with that being said is there a universal keyboard and mouse drive that i can use for all three models. Or is there something i can modify to make it work on all three?

Append "1" to the grub entry that you use to boot. This will start the system at runlevel 1. Login normally. Run pacman -Syu to fully update the system. Try reboot.

Keyboard and Mouse don't work after upgrade

Hi, about one week ago, i've made a system wide upgrade and after reboot my keyboard and mouse stopped working. My hard disk is encrypted and without keyboard i remain at the prompt which asks my password to unlock the encrypted partitions. So i don't even arrive to login manager. I tried all the solutions i could find but none of them worked for me. I saw similar posts on the forum and i'm sorry if i'm posting it in wrong place.
Here is my Xorg.0.log file, it seems like because of hotplugging, xorg disables mouse and keyboard but i couldn't disable hotplugging with the given methods like adding flag to the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file:

I 've installed/deleted xf86-input-keyboard/mouse and reinstalled xf86-input-evdev etc and it didn't work.
I tried to downgrade to different versions of kernel, i didn't work.
There are "00-keyboard.conf" "10-evdev.conf" "10-quirks.conf" "50-synaptics.conf" files under /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d
So i don't know what to do else, i hope someone can help me.

But, my keyboard and touchpad don't exist in the ISA bus address space. Things that used to live on the 1980's vintage ISA bus (like serial UARTS and ancient keyboard controllers) are now serviced by the serial LPC bus. I think you don't have that driver available in the initrd preboot environment
Sorry, i'm not good at these things, so which driver i should install if it's the case? (By the way, i added atkbd to the MODULES= and "earlymodules=atkbd modules-load=atkbd" to the kernel parameters, but i didn't make any change.)

Note that you shouldn't do this as a permanent solution, but just to get through the bootloader issue for now, manually edit /boot/grub/grub.cfg and change the relevant lines to point to the LTS kernel (in other words, grub-mkconfig should NOT fail, but that's not your biggest problem right now). This way the entry that pointed to the common kernel should now point to the LTS one.
You can find the LTS kernel files in /boot; the names should give them away. Remember to change both the kernel and initrd lines in grub.cfg.
In fact, i also have done as you told(by changing lines to the lts) and read about the error that grub-mkconfig gives me. It says it's ok, error is not important it should work properly. So i have some problem with my bootloader. I can't see the boot option anyway. Problem must be about UEFI because i remember that i had booting problems also when i first installed arch to my computer. I see all lts and lts.img files under /boot directory but somehow don't see as boot option.
Anyway, thanks a lot for all your help, maybe i do something wrong, i can't solve the problen. I'm going to reinstall my system, because i don't have time anymore. I hope at least this post would be useful for somebody else.
