KEYBOARD and MULTICLIP PROBLEMS.

I have an 8 track sequence that I am attempting to cut in multiclip mode. I load the clips, create the multitrack and shoose the "open" synch mode. If I am using the button bar, multiclips works fine. If I am using the keyboard however, nothing works.
I am running on a Quad G5 with 4.5GB RAM and a GeForce 7800GT. FCP version 5.1.1.
I tried this last night on my Dual G4 (4 tracks of DV) and it worked perfectly. The keyboard commands were a little different on my version. I could use the Command key plus the number and switch live between the tracks pulling video from an external FW 400 drive.
On my system at work I am pulling HVX200 footage off a fibre channel raid. PLEASE help me out someone. Anyone. Please.
Thanks in advance.
PS: Now nothing works. YAY!

Silly me. Easy fix. Set keyboard to multiclip. DUH!

  • Windows 7 and Wireless Mighty Mouse, Wireless Keyboard and sound problem

    Hi,
I just installed Windows 7 x64 Ultimate on my iMac 24" white ( OS X Leopard 10.5 ). Surprisingly, it installed without any problems. The only problems I have now are the Wireless Mighty Mouse and the Wireless Keyboard ( alu ).
After I installed Windows I inserted the Leopard Instal DVD and installed Boot Camp. I got a message right away saying that: "This program has known compatibility issues...". I clicked Run program and continued. Soon I got the same warning, but this time not for Boot Camp, but Intel Chipset Device Software. I clicked Run program yet again and it continued installing. Then I got a different warning: "Service KeyAgent' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." I clicked Ignore and installation continued. I got another "Service Mac HAL' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." warning, clicked Ignore again and after that it finished soon and I restarted the computer.
When I came back into Windows there was no Apple folder anywhere or any sign that I have just installed Boot Camp ( should there be? )
I installed Boot Camp Update 2.1 for Windows XP ( because Vista x64 version wouldn't start ) and basically I got the same warnings I did when I installed Boot Camp from the Leopard DVD ( described above ). I also tried to instal Boot Camp Update 2.2 for Windows, but it didn't start. I also downloaded Bluetooth Update 1.0, but all I got was a message saying: "This update is not intended for this computer and will not be installed.".
    There is also no sound.
This is basically it, I really hope some of you who run Windows 7 with wireless keyboards and mice can help me, because I desperately need this to work ( I use a Windows only program for school ).
PS. I have a 2007 iMac 24" white and while it is not on the we're-not-supporting-that list for the infamous Windows 7 Boot Camp update, all other iMacs from its generation are. Any ideas?

Found a solution for the "Boot Camp x64 is unsupported on this computer model" message. Here is the link: http://www.techulous.com/hardware/how-to-apple-boot-camp-64-bit-for-windows-7-on -unsupported-macs.html
Everything works ( for ) now. Yay!

  • Bluetooth keyboard and mouse problems

    Dear friends,
I think something is wrong with my bluetooth devices... They work perfecly well for a period of time (maybe 1 hour, maybe 2 minutes) and after this period they stop working well. They are not disconnected, they keep working, but they are super lagish, e.g. the mouse cannot be controlled, the keyboard have super latency or it keeps repeating a button i selected.
When this occurs I turn off bluetooth from my status bar, and turn it again on right away. That solves the problem for again a period of time. This issue was first introduced to me after I installed Lion on my mac. After this and some other problems I experienced in Lion, I decided to switch back to snow leopard again. The thing is that the problem persisted...
    Any suggestions ???
    Thanks

    OK. New input...
Updated again to Lion. As soon as I updated the problem began again. Once again I deleted the com.apple.bluetooth file and reset both pram and smc.
For two days my bluetooth devices were working perfectly fine. None issues.
Today, I was in a hurry and put my mac on sleep by closing the lid. As soon as I opened the lid again
    the problem unveiled again.
What on earth is happening ?? It cannot be a keyboard or mouse problem, can it ??
Little help, please... It seems managable, but performing a smc and pram reset every couple days doen't
    seem right...

  • Nokia E70 big keyboard and keys problem

    Hi all,
Since today, when I hit on "Options" key or "Return/Cancel" key, my E70 seems to chain random commands. Both key become unusable. When I open the E70 to use the keyboard the left part (azqsd, ....) is working fine but right part (yuioph, ...) chaining multiple letters. For instance, if I hit "y" when creating a message it displays "y,". When I try to delete it displays "ù,".
What should I do ? I've tried a hard reset but the problem is still here. My firmware version is:
    2.0618.07.10
    31-08-06
    RM-10
    Thanks for all your help.

Hi I'm so glad i'm not the only one.
This problem has caused me a lot of frustration and money.
After numerous repair shops who couldn't help me I took the phone to a Nokia service centre and they fixed the problem (just by flashing the phone) they charged me 50 euro's for this service. It has worked for 6 months.
Now al of a suddden the problem reapeared ity seems to have " lost" my front side keyboard and the inside (or left keyboard if flipped open" thinks its the only keyboard. Very frustrating PLEASE HELP.
Without this problem its the best phone I ever owned I even sold my Iphone and went back to using the combination E7 Asus EEE.
Is there anyone from Nokia Finland / headquarters who can pick up this problem and help us PLEASE?

  • Mac mini, bluetooth keyboard and mouse problems

My elderly father is trying to use bluetooth (USB adaptor) with his mini, and Apple bluetooth keyboard and bluetooth mouse. He has the mini about 6 feet away in the entertainment center partly behind the cabinet door. He keeps getting a message that his keyboard can't be found. I've had him wiggle the key board, check the batteries etc. to no avail. He bought this Mini 5 months ago to be able to get DSL, and so far he hasn't been able to get hooked up because his keyboard never works enough.
I live 400 miles away, so can't go over easily to help out. He doesn't want a keyboard with a cable, because he wants to sit in front of the TV, which he is using as a monitor.
Any suggestions? The mouse works more reliably, by the way.
I don't know what brand USB adaptor he is using, he got it from Fry's, but the Apple store says they recommend only certain brands.
    thanks,
    Lory

problem solved. Replaced key board, mousse and changed brands of USB bluetooth adaptor, which is now a D-Link brand I bought from an Apple store. Works like a champ.

  • Unresponsive Keyboard and Trackpad problem AT STARTUP + Sleep problem

When I turn on my computer it boots the OS and everything works except for the trackpad and the keyboard. I wait for about 5-7 minutes and then the trackpad and the keyboard start working.
    Additional problems:
If I try to sleep my computer, the screen turns off, but the computer never stops working, so I have to force it to shut down.
    Temporal Solutions
    1) Boot in safe mode, it solves the trackpad/keyboard problems but not the Sleeping problem
    Attempted fixes
    1) Conencted external keyboard mouse/keyboard. Doesn't work
    2) Reset the battery controller.
    3) Reinstalled 10.6
    4) Installed 10.5
    5) Installed 10.6.3
    Known Stuff:
    1) The trackpad/keyboard are always connected as I can move the mouse and use some gestures with the Better Touch Tool app, and the keyboard works because if I click the Caps Lock key, the small led turns on.
    2) Also, I have the HardwareGrowler app which tells me if hardware gets connected or disconnected and it never tells me anything about the trackpad/keyboard getting disconnected.
    3) The OS is working at startup because apps show stuff and get updated and I can still get growl notifications.
NOTE: This is an intermittent problem, about 1 out of 10 times I turn on the computer I GET the problem.
    Thanks a lot!

I came across a similar issue as the original poster. My trackpad and keyboard are unresponsive for 5 - 7 minutes after startup. I've updated my OS to 10.6.4 twice and it's still happening. I recognized this behavior after the Preferences->Network pane froze while I was trying to remove a VPN setting. Removing /Library/Preferences/SystemConfigurations did not help the problem.
Do any of you have advice on debugging the issue?

  • (s300) Keyboard and touchpad problem after upgrading to win 8.1

    Hi,
I just upgraded to win 8.1 (from win 8) and I have to problems that are pretty annoying.
The first problem is with the keyboard (I think it has something to do with keyboard layout):
When I type quote mark ( " or ' ) it doesn't display it. Only when I press another key it shows.
The second problem is with the thouchpad. Before I upgraded I could "click the right mouse key" by touching the touchpad with two fingers. After the upgrade it doesn't work anymore. I tried to download the newest driver from the drivers page, but it didn't fix it.
    Is there any solution?
    Thanks!

  • Keyboard and Other Problems

For a awhile now, a few of my keys have stopped working: F1 and F2, and F5 - F12. Also, the power button on the keyboard will not work either. I'm not able to adjust the brightness of my keyboard or the screen, and I can't adjust the volume using the keys.
If I try to shut my computer down by using the apple button on the menu bar at the top of the screen, that will not work either, so I can't log out, shut down, or restart my computer.
Photo Booth stopped working also. I wil go to take a picture and it does the " 3 2 1" countdown but after that it will just freeze. I don't know if that has to do with any the other problems, but 'm still able to skype with my webcam, so it's just Photo Booth.
I'm not sure if there's any way to fix this myself, but maybe if there's a way to restart my computer some of the problems could be fixed.

I am having the same issue and I believe it started after the last update. It is definately not the keyboard because in programs like word or excel the fn F5, for example, still brings up the find function. I think it is an issue with the keyboard setting but when I go to preferences it opens the Keyboard Shortcuts tab. When I click on the Keyboard tab I get the color wheel and I have to force quit. I am also unable to open the Mac Info from the apple menu in finder. And I am unable to manually shut down or restart from the pull down menu. I think it was a faulty upgrade but I don't know how to fix it.

  • Keyboard and Contact Problems after Iphone Update to 4.2.1

Hey Guys, after i updated my brand new Iphone 4 I got a few Problems with my contacts... some Contacts were deleted (only the numbers, not the names). And I can not write ß, é, è and so on...
All Settings set to German. But these letters are not available while holding e or s...
    Can somebody help me?

if you dont have your contacts backed up on a computer then they very well could be gone
this wont fix your contact issue but this is what I would try for your other issue
to be honest these are the solutions that may or may not work..
first thing I would try is rebooting the phone by holding the sleep/wake button and home button for 15 seconds until you see the white apple logo
if that doesn't work I would restore from backup and if that doesn't work I would restore as new if all else fails take it to your closest apple store they may replace the phone for a working one..

  • Keyboard and mouse problems

Within the past week I have had a lot of trouble with my powerbook. About 6 months ago I put tiger on it. Now when I use my computer it seems like it freezes up. Only certain keys work and the mouse will no open anything except for the drop down menus. Any ideas.

Turn your laptop off and then turn it back on.

  • Keyboard and trackpad are not working, Keyboard and trackpad are not working

I'm using MBP 15" late 2008 with Maverick OS. A couple of days ago, the internal keyboard and trackpad are not working at all. I did all the troubleshooting. I even reformat it; installing the snow leopard and re-installing the maverick but no good result. I believe there's no problem with my keyboard because i can still do PRAM on my lappy. Everytime i'm booting up my MBP, it always looking for bluetooth trackpad and keyboard. I have not used those bluetooth peripherals from day 1 i've started using MBP. I just read on the internet about the same problem has happened on MBP 13" retina and APPLE fixed it by updating the software. I wish Apple will also do something for the old MBP to fix the intermal keyboard and trackpad problem.

  • Keyboard and mouse randomly don't work after boot

Hello there, I have been having a problem lately  with the keyboard. Some times after the booting process it doesn't work, forcing me to restart my laptop even 3 or 4 times before getting it to work properly.
Here is the keyboard boot process. wich has actually a problem that I can't understand clearly.

I noticed this error during the boot preocess, how should it be interpreted?
I'm sure in the kernel, the device atkbd is selected.
The synaptics mouse instead, doesn't work properly in X
My mouse is a synaptic touchpad and when I start x, instead of loading the synaptic device, xfce simply see it as ps/2. Also this happens randomly.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Has your keyboard and mouse quit working altogether or just when the computer is hot? And do I understand that an external keyboard and mouse will work with no problems?
And I am wondering about your computer running unusually hot. Are your fans operating properly? You might want to run the extended version of the Apple Hardware test to be sure that the fans and thermal sensors are working properly. If they are not, you will get one or more error codes.
Another thing to do to check when your Mac is unusually hot is the Activity Monitor. Select "All Processes" at the top right and check for any process running that should not be which is using lots of CPU.
I don't know if the keyboard problem is related to the heat problem or not, but I would want to know what is causing the heat problem too. Over time, excessive heat can cause damage to the logic board. It could also conceivably damage the ribbon cable which connects the keyboard and I would guess that the trackpad could also be affected. So it is important to see what is going on here. If you have been experiencing excessive heat on a regular basis, this might be the underlying cause of your keyboard and trackpad problems. If so, the heat problem will have to be fixed or the other problem will recur over time.
Try the AHT and post back with any results. Also, use iStatPro to check on your fans and make sure both are running at roughly equal speeds and that they run faster when the computer gets hot.
    Good luck!

  • Keyboard and Mouse pad don't work.

Can anyone help me? I figured I should come here before bringing it to a shop.
I have upgarded my ram from 2gigs to 4gigs with Crucial ram.
Though regardless if I have the new ram or old ram in, my keyboard and mouse pad don't work. There were occasions before when the keyboard would lock up for a short while, but I have no idea what's causing this.
My only thought would be that sometimes my computer would get unusually hot, but i just turn it off when that happens.
Everything else works fine, the USB ports work with keyboards and mouse's, the power chord works fine, there seems nothing wrong with the battery or display.
    Thanks you for any help.

  • Macbook pro Late 2011 13.3 inch i7 keyboard and trackpad not working bluetooth showing a cross sign and no usb mouse is detected. Almost dead keyboard and mouse. Earlier same problem used to be solved by opening the lower cover and closing it.

My macbook pro 13.3 inch i7 late 2011 edition has previously encountered unresponsive trackpad and keyboard. To solve that, I used to open the back cover and then close it. It has been working fine since that. Yesterday, same thing happened, this time I noticed that bluetooth icon is showing a cross sign across it and keyboard and trackpad were unesponsive. After some time , everything worked fine and bluetooth sign was back to normal. Then , suddenly it went back to the problem. I shut it down by holding the power button. When I booted it again, I could not login because keyboard and trackpad were not working. I attached a HP mouse it didnt work. I opened the back cover disconnected the battery and then connected it again, didnt worked. Since then , I have tried many things and nothing has solved the problem.

    @sanjampet
As you suggested I reset the smc, in the first boot nothing worked. In the second boot, it all worked like a charm. I thought that my problem is resolved now. To test it, I shut it down properly. Next morning, I powered it on, all things i.e, keyboard, trackpad, bluetooth etc. worked and I thought that problem has been solved. When I was just going to visit apple forum to reply you,  the same problem reappeared. A sawtooth cross over bluetooth icon, keyboard not working, trackpad not working,no usb mouse working which worked well when it was fine. I reset smc so many times again and again but same problem continued. Isn't it a problem of the firmware?
Next time when it will work, I will update its firmware.
My macbook was bought in dec2011 so no warranty now.
