Keyboard and Sleep issues

1. Some letters will not capitalize unless i use the "wrong" shift key.
2. Ther cursor will jump around to random places.
3. The computer comes back to life immediately after being put into Sleep mode.

Radius L10W-B keyboard and mouse issues

Hello, I have just purchased a Toshiba Satelite Radius L10W-B notebook less then a day ago, and am exeriancing SERIOUS keyboard and mouse issues, Juts after purchasinng this notebook, after converting it to tablet mode and back to notebok mode, the keyboard and mouse was NON existant for over 4 hours, DID NOT WORK AT ALL. I took it back to the reseller and ofcourse as soon as I tried to show the issue, all worked fine. Now, I have massive latency issues with both keyboard and mouse. The keyboard misses key strokes in almost every 8 keys. I get 1 missed keystroke in every 8 keys pressed when typing, and these are not typos, just absolutely nothing, thyre absolute misses all togeather. This make for alot of retyping and backspacing etc etc. also, the mouse is disabled for about 3 seconds after tying, then snaps back into action. This means when typing and switching to the mouse reasonably fast, the mouse is non responsive for about 1 second which is fairly irretating. This email took over 20 minutes to write, for this exact reason. Im sure this is not normal. I really love this notebook in every other aspect, however these issues just make it plain ususuable. thanks for the reply. However im convinced this is hardware related! While I really hope not, Ive tried all solutions posted by others.
It simply seems the keyboard is poor quality and the rest of the laptop is awesome!
I really hope im wrong! But its my gut feeling

Windows 8.1 Ent. Helix - Keyboard and touchpad issues (device code 43)

Third Apps installed
Latest Lenovo Drivers installed
Problem:
Keyboard and Touchpad on the keyboard dock intermittently stops working altogether. The UltraNav pointing device also reports device code 43. The user is unable to type or move mouse cursor. Sometimes the touchscreen will also not work when this problem occurs. The problem has been reported by 3+ users/systems. Some users also experience "Keyboard Fan Dock error" which may or may not be attributing to this issue.
When it occurs:
The problem is intermittent; it often occurs after waking the system up from sleep. As a workaround, the user has to restart the system a couple to several times in order for the device to be recognized. User also experiencing this issue without UltraNav installed.
Any advice from Lenovo staff or others experiencing this would be appreciated.

users at my organization are experiencing device issues indicated in this Lenovo solution article; the solution in the article points to the latest drivers being the solution; however, the users are still running into these USB device errors with the latest USB hub/keyboard drivers/fw.

Keyboard and mouse issues following Snow Leopard update

I have a relatively ancient iMac--first aluminum bodied Intel-based model c. 2007. I was having issues updating my browsers (firefox, chrome) because I was on the old OS X (10.5.8 I think). So I did the Snow Leopard upgrade and since then have been having persistent keyboard (aluminum wireless) and mouse (mighty mouse connected via USB) issues.
I have verified the keyboard is connected via Bluetooth. I have verified that the keyboard is responding by opening the keyboard viewer and watching each of the keys light up as I type. Also, the keyboard will wake the computer from sleep and sometimes allow me to toggle between programs with Command+Tab.
Nevertheless, the keyboard will NOT type inside programs such as Word and Chrome. (It WILL type in the Post-it Note dashboard app, but I can't copy and paste into a browser from there.)
The Mouse will work in Chrome but in Finder and iTunes, e.g., it will not work. I can't use the mouse to select a folder in the folder tree to the left or to select a song or file/folder in the main window. I CAN, however, use the mouse to minimize/maximize/close each window.
Rebooting corrects the problem temporarily, but if I get up and walk away for a bit the keyboard and mouse re-freeze upon returning.
I have reset the PRAM and SMC because I saw these fixes listed in other discussion threads. Neither has fixed my issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Steve,
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

Bluetooth keyboard and mouse issue

I have a 20" Aluminium iMac with the bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Recently i've started to have some issues where the keyboard keeps disconnecting & reconnecting, also the mouse going slow and jerky. They have been working perfectly fine for the past year but only recently started to play up. I have gone into bluetooth prefs and deleted them and re-connected, this seemed to be a temporary fix but after a while it started again, although not as bad as before. I usually leave my Mac on all the time and just put it in sleep mode, the issue now seems to be waking it from sleep as well. I have tried restarts and re pairing as i said before but nothing seems to be solving the issue. Any ideas or fixes would be appreciated.

Battery and Sleep issues. Is this "normal"?

Hey guys, ever since day 1 My new MBP has been experiencing the sleep issue where in sleep the battery would lose about 1-2%/hour. I would go to sleep with the battery at 100%, and wake up to only about 87%. Also, when it was new the battery had about 4650 for full charge capacity, now its showing only 4540 after 10 cycles!!! Is this normal? Please help my MBP is less than 2 weeks old I have owned the previous MBP model, and the battery life during sleep was considerably better than this, and also it took less time to charge the battery!

Reset the SMC (System Management Controller) and re-calibrate the Battery then see how it behaves ...

Satellite Pro L300 - Keyboard and touchpad issues

I have just baught my GF a refurbed Toshiba laptop for her 21st birthday from a reliable source, its a Satellite Pro L300.
I started it up did all the setup stuff it told me to only to find that the touchpad and keyboard will not work AT ALL.
The keyboard caps lock key doesn't even light up when I press it,
I've downloaded all the latest drivers for EVERYTHING inc. the touchpad, this has made no difference,
I'm running out of ideas fast and coming to terms with the fact that the keyboard and touchpad might be faulty and as a result ill have to give my GF a faulty laptop for hewr 21st, not happy :(

Edit: OK, very odd, right after i sent this message i tried the keyboard one more time and it works fine?
Could it be something 2 do with the downloading of the VAP package?
The touch pad is still knackered even when i try the fn + f9 combo?
2nd Edit: Ok now the keyboard has stopped working again!

Looks like a keyboard issue. who knows why it doesnt work looks like something would be wrong
I recommend visiting your dealer and asking for replacement
Otherwise you could contact the ASP in your country for a fix

Ultraslim Plus keyboard and mouse issues with windows 8.1 (hesitation/jerkiness)

I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing issues with their Ultrslim Plus keyboard and mouse after the update to windows 8.1? Mine seems very hesitant missing lots of key presses and the mouse pointers movement accross the screen is jerky. I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers but it still isn't working like it was yesterday. Batteries for both show as 100% and nothing else has changed.

My mistake. I'd installed version 1.5, the updated version 1.8 (specifically mentions windows 8.1 on download link) works perfectly.

Windows 8.1, secureboot and sleep issues

Hi,
I'm a technet subscriber so have access to Win8.1. Just tried it and ran into some issues which I think are bios related. (My motherboard is X79A-GD65 (8D) and I'm running bios 4.3.)
First when I installed Win8.1 a watermark is stuck on the desktop which says "SecureBoot isn't configured correctly" along with the build number, 9600.
So I went to bios and saw Windows 8 settings and enabled them, now the watermark is gone but there is not sleep option in windows (which I use alot)
going back to bios and disabling Win8 features brings sleep back but also the secureboot watermark......
Anyone else run into this?

I can't help with the SecureBoot issue. I have the same problem with my videocard not being SecureBoot compatible (A GTX 670). The sleep issue though, is it an issue with like... you can only hibernate, but you can't sleep? Windows 8 didn't come with that for me, but I found a work around.
Open a command prompt with administrator privilege and type: powercfg /hibernate off
This should change the hibernate to sleep.
If you want an icon for it just make a batch file: rundll32 powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState (0,1,0)
And if you need a timer on it (I use this pretty often myself) use this: powershell sleep <seconds> | rundll32 powrprof.dll SetSuspendState (0,1,0)
And if you're curious about the (0,1,0) thing. It's all boolean, so 1 or 0. (A,B,C), A: Hibernate, B: Critical (in XP/2003 it forces the sleep, but in newer versions it asks for permission to suspend), C: Disable wake event (Wake on LAN would be disabled if this were 1, for example).

Hi community, i am using i phone 5, i was highly satisfied with that one, With Fast speed and good network and wifi coverage,
never had any issue. since i am using ios7.
But the time since i updated my i phone 5 (16gb / ios7.1.2) to ios8.1.3 i start having issues which are never ending.
* Slow down speed of keyboard and its strucks while typing.
* Using application are not faster than before.
* on ios 7 i was getting 35-45 mbps download and 25-40mbps upload speed, while after updating ios 8.1.3 it became slow to 9.68 downloading speed and uploading is 1.68mbps which became worst.
* i deleted my all data freed my memory 5.5 gb after update still its very slow.
* reset ed multiple time even by iTunes and i cloud, but nothing works
* i backup-ed data on i cloud and while restoring its taking more than 2 days just to restoring my all data.
meanwhile my iphone 5, 16gb is now became bunch of problems
please apple i dont want to loose my device please help me out plz fix these bugs i tried every diagnosis step nothing have been solved.

Keyboard and ios7 issues

SInce installing ios7 my apple wireless keyboard has been very buggy (typing this with onscreen keyboard). I cannot type into text response boxes with the keyboard. This morning, I cannot use it for anything, I "forgot" the keyboard and repaired, I've replaced the batteries, no improvement. The keyboard is responsive in that I can get it to bring up the onscreen keyboard, but it does nothing Else.. Any suggestions?

I would suggest the same thing that has been suggested for issues with the virtual keyboard that some others users have experienced, myself included, and that is to reset all settings.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. No data will be lost, but all settings will have to be entered again.

Wake up and sleep issues in Mac OS X 10.5.8

Hi,
Sometimes, after being sleeping for more than a day, when my macbook wakes up it suddenly sleeps by itself (after 15-45 seconds of using).
Usually I close the lid and wait 30 seconds. After this, I open the lid and the problem is solved. But, when it doesn’t happen I have to restart the computer (what is happenig more and more often). Does anyone know what is happening?
As I read in some posts, there are some bugs in Mac OS X 10.5.7 related with wake up and sleep problems. Does anyone know if these bugs remain in the 10.5.8 version? How is it possible to fix this problem?

Keyboard and touchpad issues on s7 392

Soon after plugging in a new usb microphone with Windows 10, my touchpad (which has always periodically shut off during use but has normally been restored to functionality after restart) and keyboard no longer work at all, except, interestingly, to adjust brightness. touchpad has device manager error code 10 and has newest synaptics driver. tried uninstalling keyboard driver to no effect - it has error code 19.When i plugged in logitech receiver for keyboard and mouse, the laptop froze.. I would really appreciate help, it is a huge stress to have these problems and i need my computer to research cancer treatments for my mom. sorry about typos, touch keyboard is very frustrating.

Also, I have restarted several times and run windows update.

External display and sleep issues

A 15-inch MacBook Pro worked fine with an external display and keyboard prior to the 10.5.2 update. After the update the external display goes dark when the laptop is closed. Hitting the external keyboard momentarily wakes up the external display but then it almost immediately goes back to sleep. It's as if the MBP thinks it's in battery mode and not plugged into an AC outlet.
All Energy Saver settings are to keep the display awake. Could this be a corrupt driver or some other issue?

A lot of us are having the following problems after the graphic update:
-not waking from sleep (waking, but display staying dark, restart is only solution)
-not being able to use in clamshell mode (with external monitor)
-not being able to run external monitor at full resolution
I've also had some weird bugs like the settings and calibration of my external somehow coming over to my MBP monitor after disconnecting the them.
I hope Apple can fix this.

Keyboard and gfx issues after switching to xf86-video-radeonhd

After recently switching from an nVidia gfx card to a ATI Radeon HD2400, I instaled xf86-video-radeonhd driver. I noticed several issues that I haven't experienced before:
1. Keyboard frequently repeat a keystroke that I only pressed once (e.g. aaaaarch when i type arch)
2. Keyboard frequently skip keystrokes when I type fast (e.g. "achlinx rcks" when i type "archlinux rocks")
3. After X11 starts, if I try to switch to virtual console (ctrl+alt+F1), the system freezes and turns zombie. This combined with my recently switch to ext4 had caused more than enough data loss.
4. I hav a dual monitor setup, one of them needs 59.9Hz refresh rate, and the other needs 60.0Hz refresh rate. If I configure the monitor as right-of or left-of in xorg.conf, xrandr always gets the refresh rate wrong. I have to manually issue xrandr commands.
I noticed that my keyboard got recognized twice in Xorg.log, Could this have caused 1) and 2)?//

Hate to reply to my own thread. But the keyboard problem has been solved by moving the keyboard to a different port. Apparently not all ports behind the workstation are 2.0 ports? Funny this was never a problem before until I switch to a radeon gfx card.
