Keyboard and trackpad on macbook pro retina (13") not working sometimes
Hi - not sure if everyone has had the same problem as well.
For me, the keyboard and trackpad sometimes just don't work and when that happens, the bluetooth sign seems to be different (as attached here).
Does someone know how to solve it?

Help!!I do have a bluetooth keyboard and magic mouse...This means i can work.
But the problem is i need to work out of home, and i don´t want to carry all those things everytime i have to go out.
And you´re right, i don´t have warranty...
I´m sure i didn´t drop liquids over it. And although it did dropped once when it was new, nearly 4 years ago, it worked just fine for 3 years. About 8 months ago, keyboard and trackpad started to fail, until they just died.
I tried cleaning it and reinstalling OS, but nothing so far.

Bizarre cursor and trackpad on MacBook Pro Retina
On my new MacBook Pro Retina the cursor has started jumping all over the place without my doing anything, and the trackpad responds erratically, if at all. I've done all the easy stuff - this occurred suddenly. Others? Fixes?

Keyboard and trackpad freeze-MacBook pro
Working along and trackpad and mouse just freeze. I thought the whole computer froze until I pressed the power button and the screen changed to confirm if I wanted to shutdown. At that point I plugged in a external USB mouse and I could now move my mouse pointer. Still no trackpad or keyboard. To recover I saved my work and restarted. Any ideas? I'm using a 13 inch mid 2010.

The hinge between my screen and my computer (macbook pro retina) has cracked and doesn't hold the screen anymore. Can I fix it without changing my screen. And if it's still on guarantee does Apple have to repair it?
Apple can fix any and all of their computers. Whether it would be charged to you would be the question. Do you have AppleCare?
Accidental damage is not covered by AppleCare.

oldboy135Yes, the MBP will accommodate USB2 peripherals in the USB3 ports, but the transfer rate will be at USB2 speeds.
You may use both without concern.

Either the power brick is damaged, or the charging circuit is on the blink, or both. Either way, a trip to the Apple Store or the Apple Authorized Service Provider is in order, as this ain't no bargain basement toy.
In the meantime, can attempt an SMC Reset to see if it helps. -

You haven't identified the version so I can't tell if offering you contact options for Adobe Support will be of use to you. But they will likely be your only hope of getting resolution unless you just happen to be using the wrong number as the serial number.

Facetime and iMessage on Macbook Pro Retina display slow after Yosemite 10.10.3 Update

I recently updated my Macbook Pro Retina display to Yosemite 10.10.3 update. I see that the Facetime and iMessage has become relatively very slow. Like for example when someone calls on my phone it takes like more than 15 seconds + to show up on my macbook. Earlier it used to be like instant!
I started seeing this problem on Yosemite 10.10.3 update only. Also the same is the story with iMessage. When I get an SMS or an iMessage from my friends it takes like a good 30 seconds + to show up on my macbook pro.
Just for your information, this is the version of macbook i am using
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013)

8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

As Suggested by someone I also tried RESETTING my computer's PRAM. That didn't seem to help either. Can anyone help. If it is a genuine bug in Apple Yosemite, I'd like to file a bug in the community.

Keyboard problems on a Macbook Pro Retina 15 Inch
Here's a new one for the absolute Geniuses out there.
I recently had a battery repair on my Macbook Pro Retina Display, which was successful. After using my computer normally for another week, my keyboard has become ill.
My RIGHT SHIFT key doesn't work at all, nor do the F1 through to F9 keys.
As I was told by the Genius who repaired my laptop the first time, this laptop has been extremely well looked after. It has no dents whatsoever, has never been dropped, is always used on a hard, level surface for the sake of heat distribution and is just generally well cared for.
I can't really track down any similar issues on the entire Internet. The fact that surrounding keys work as normal seems weird, and the backlighting is A OK as well.
If you people can fix this one, I'll be extremely impressed. I'm assuming I'm going to be taking my second trip to the Genius Bar in as many weeks though. Please prove me wrong, or maybe a switch back to Windows is in order... (*shudders*)Take it to the genious. Tell them exactly what happened, that you had it working fine, battery replaced, now the keyboard has an issue. Be polite but firm that you want them to look at it no charge considering that the problem began AFTER the battery replacement.

I assume warranty is already expired.
But will opening and cleaning it be complicated or risky business? I'm good with electronics, but Apple uses small and delicate screws/parts etc.

I would. I open up my MBPs without fear. I suggest that you place it on a large surface with a clean towel underneath. That way you can slide it around without damage and when you drop a screw, it will tend NOT to bounce away.

Yes, unless you purchased Apple care which extends it to three years.

I do not consider it risky if you use patience and a little common sense. You may also need a #00 Phillips driver and possibly a Torx driver. Check the iFixit.com web site for disassembly instructions for you model and appropriate tools. That way you will have an idea what to expect. Swabs with a non-residue electronics cleaner and compressed air are good ideas. A vacuum cleaner should be used very judiciously.
