Keyboard command for scrolling? In Safari it's spacebar (down) or spacebar-shift (up).

Is there a a Firefox equivalent? Hitting the spacebar sends one backwards--to the top of the page.

That should be the same in Firefox: Space to go down one screen and Shift + Space to go up.<br />
Page Up and Page Down should also work if you have those keys.

  • What is the keyboard shortcut for scrolling page down? In Pages, Safari, etc... Just a single page/ screen view, not all the way to the bottom.  Thank you.

Trying to navigate the screen without my mousepad.  I have carpal tunnel and early stage arthritis and cannot repeatedly make the appropriate motions to scroll with two fingers.  Is there a keyboard shortcut for scrolling up and down line by line or page by page?
    Thank you.

Yeah. sorry. those are not correct. ctrl N + P are for home and end line shortcuts. Ctrl V does go down one line.  But CTRL arrow up or down do not work in Safari.  But thank you very much for the attention and the time...
Note from my first post above -- I did not say to use CTRL arrow in Safari:
    For Safari:
Scroll down a line: down arrow
Scroll down a screen: option down arrow
Note from my second post above and from the first link I gave that  Control N, P, and V worked for me in Pages as described in the link and in my post:
The link to shortcuts that I gave abaove includes Control N, P, and V for move down a line, up a line and down a page and those seem to work in Pages.

  • Can I change the keyboard command for full screen? I don't see the option in preferences.

Can i change the keyboard command for entering Full Screen? I don't see the option in the keyboard preferences pane.

My midi set up is fairly extensive, and what I've done is keep an up to date diagram of all my midi interfaces and device connections. I use this as the desktop background on my studio mac, and just hit F11 when I need to reference something. Simple but effective.

  • I need to find the keyboard command for "PrintScreen"

I'm using a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X Version 10.7.5.
Processor 2.4 GHz intel core 2 Duo.
I'm just looking for the keyboard command for the "PrintScreen" function.
    Any help?

    Thanks, Niel,
The only way that I could print all the columns on the page was to use the printscreen function. Regular printing cut off a crucial portion of the information.
If you know of any way to bring the print screen to full size - mine would only print in a compressed version - I'd love to know that as well.
Your answer, however, was very helpful.
    Thanks,
    Michael

  • System prerences won't save keyboard commands for dashboard or desktop

I clicked the checkboxes to turn on the keyboard commands for Dashboard and Desktop. I used control-up arrow for Dashboard, and control-down arrow for Desktop. When I restart, the commands don't work. I thought maybe I had made System Preferences crash, so I made a point of quitting right after making the change. When I restarted, the commands were disabled again. This has happened several times.
    What gives?

At a guess, I would think this error code has to do with the video artifacts you are experiencing. You might try reseating all the cables to the display. If the position of the screen makes a difference, there may be damage to a cable, particularly where it goes through the hinge.
Apple is the keeper of the error codes. If you have access to an Apple Store, you could probably ask about this.
Don't know about the other intermittent problems. Does an external keyboard work? If so, there's likely a problem with the internal, maybe even again, a cable or connection.
You could also try creating a new use account and see if the keyboard and mouse problems persist. If not, there could be some sort of software corruption in your usual account. Ditto with the freezing.
    Good luck!

  • De-activating keyboard command for iTunes

I want to use control-option-space for another program.
Currently it causes iTunes to open. To disable this through the Keyboard Prefs panel I need to know the exact menu item name, but it does not appear in iTunes's menu so I cannot do that.

We're just users here.  Send feedback -- including feature requests -- to Apple via "Aperture→Provide Aperture Feedback".
There is no keyboard command.  Aperture uses the mouse "scroll" command.  You may turn up a utility which allows you to map the mouse commands to keyboard shortcuts.
You might also search the forum for posts on resizing Brushes with the Intuos4 tablet.  There may be a work-around which you can apply to your trackball.

  • Can I create a keyboard command for the Ken Burns effect?

    Friends,
I am creating a short video that consists of about 40 stills and a few video clips.  For each of the stills I want to create a Ken Burns effect.  I know that there is a keyboard command to open the crop tool.  Can I create a keyboard command that opens the Ken Burns editor?  I guess the broader question is whether I can create a macro that combines a keystroke and one or more mouse clicks?
    Thanks!
    Steve

    The Keyboard-shortcuts-editor
    ⌥ - ⌘ - K
doesn't list the 'Ken Burns'-effect as 'shortcutable' …
And I doubt, that even Automator
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2488?viewlocale=en_US
    would createany useful 'shortcuts':
Each picture is different - so, how should a 'standardised' KB work?
What does work indeed , is copy/paste of Attributes:
    create your KB for clip#1
    hit cmd-c
select clip#2 (or many) hit ⇧-⌘-V and select the 'crop' attributes ...

  • Replacing existing file - keyboard command for Replace

In some apps, if you try to save a file to a location where an older version (same name) exists, you are warned and asked if you want to Cancel or Replace. Focus is on the Cancel button, as it should be. Is there a keyboard command to move focus to the Replace button? I've tried various cobinations etc and I'm sure that there is one.
EDIT: A bit of Googling came up with this excellent site
    http://davespicks.com/writing/programming/mackeys.html
    and the answer is Command-r

You can also enable Access for assisitve devices in the universal access pref. pane.
You can then use TAB to move the focus and SPACE to select the button.

  • Is it possible to make a global keyboard command for an Applescript application?

I have created an application with Applescript, and I want to create a global keyboard command that brings up an input dialogue.
If that's not possible, is there a way to make a dialogue appear when the Dock icon is clicked?

The regular keyboard shortcuts work with whatever application is currently active, so that leaves option number 2.  To add a dynamic menuu item to the dock menu, you can add a couple of handlers to the CocoaAppletAppDelegate.scpt, which is located in the bundle contents of the Cocoa-AppleScript applet (created when you use the File > New from Template menu item):
on applicationDockMenu_(sender) -- dynamically add a menu item to the dock tile
set myDockMenu to current application's NSMenu's alloc's initWithTitle_("") -- don't really need a title here
myDockMenu's addItemWithTitle_action_keyEquivalent_("My spiffy new menu item", "menuAction:", "")
        return myDockMenu
      end applicationDockMenu_
on menuAction_(sender) -- do something when the dock menu item is selected
set menuTitle to sender's title() as text
        # do something
tell current application to activate -- make sure dialog is in front
display dialog "The " & quoted form of menuTitle & " menu item was clicked…"
tell application "System Events" to keystroke tab using {command down} -- switch to previous application
      end menuAction_

  • CS6: keyboard command for zoom in

In CS4 I used the keyboard command, command+space bar, to zoom in to a area I selected with the marquee tool. I used this all the time. With CS6 the same keyboard command works differently. I don't have the option to select the area I want with the marquee tool. Is there a way to do it in CS6?

Go to the zoom tool, turn off "scrubby zoom".

  • What is the keyboard command  for opening the disc drive on a G5

fried old keyboard and am using an older one that doesn't have an "open" button. Thanks in advance

Yes, it’s the same for me. In this case I didn’t know about drutil. I don’t want to take this off-topic, but just a quick question to you, chorleyman: I see you’re using a Firebox. Are you satisfied with it? I believe it’s Core Audio compliant. Back then I had to decide to get the Edirol FA-66 or a Presonus Firebox. I’m absolutely happy with mine, but I’m just curious...

  • What are the keyboard commands for these bodycopy adjustments?

    Hi,
I've been through my CS3 manual (and all over my keyboard) - trying to understand how to add leading to my paragraphs. I've done it before - which is why this is so maddening. Also how do I create a "circle C" off the baseline?
    Thank you in advance.
    hab

A circle C?  First if you don't know what the symbol is you probably shouldn't be using it.  I think you are referring to a Copyright symbol which Wikipedia has a long definition for ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright ).  A Copyright symbol can be inserted using the Insert Toolbar -> Text tab and clicking the Drop-Down arrow at the end which will give you the &copy; or similar HTML code depending on the charset of the page.
The next think you need is the CSS for text-indent.  Adding the text-indent CSS to the class/id of your text will allow you to indent the first line of your paragraph:

  • Fonts for scrolling up text / ramp up ramp down?

Couple of questions regarding LiveType. I'm creating a credits for the end of a project that goes on for a couple of minutes, and is fairly slow. I selected a font I liked (a system font, not a LifeFont) and included a couple of symbols from Webdings or something to seperate sections with a symbol that was appropriate to the project. These fonts looks great on the screen and in Font Book (where I went to view all my fonts and make a selection) but when I output it it looks like crap. (white font/black background, standard DV). Are there types of fonts that are generally better represented (ie. truetype vs. ???).
2nd question. I've looked through the manual and can't find anything about this but, I'd like, at the end of the credits to ramp down the speed, then pause for a specified amount of time on the last big of the credits (copyright etc.).
How do you ramp up/ramp down the "Scroll Up" effect?
    Thanks!

    Question 1:
You really need to view it on an NTSC monitor or failing that output a short portion to your deck/camera and look at it on a TV and see if it still looks like crap.
There are a number of things that could be your “crap” culprit. Try lowering the whites to about 90% for starters and add a Gaussian Blur (at about .2) to the titles as well. Add the blur in FCP it’s in Effects>Video Filters>Blur>Guaussian Blur
    Question 2:
There is a scroll and pause effect in LT as well. It has adjustable key points that you could move around so it pauses where you want it. With the length of your credits though it may be more hassle than it’s worth. Obviously it’s your choice. As an alternative you could simply dissolve in that final graphic rather than having it scroll and pause. If you’re trying to give that final credit more prominence that would achieve your goal.

  • Continuous scrolling in safari doesn't work

I've installed Mavericks and thought this feature will work. But it doesnt, neither with reading list nor with shared links. Even though there is a name of next article/link at the very bottom of the page, it does't scrolls further. Any idea what could be wrong?

I am having same problem on my mac pro, logitech wired mouse, scroll to next article is not working in safari shared links. Does somebody know some keyboard shortcut for scrolling those articles? Therefore I hope that apple will adress this issue and fix it in next update, because as graphic designer I am forced to use laser wired mouse.
