Keyboard Cover for the Envy 17-j053ea (EU)

Hello all, I'm in search of a keyboard cover for the laptop model in the subject. Keyboard covers for this model of laptop exist but they are often the US layout (for instance, the return key is a rectangle as opposed to a 7 shape as it is on an EU layout). Whilst this doesn't run under hardware problems, it would however run under protecting the hardware.
Is anyone able to find a keyboard cover for me as I cannot seem to find any anywhere?!
If only it was easier to clean laptop keyboards from tiny bits of dust and dog hairs.
Thanks in advance.

Helloo,
I've also been searching for a cover for my HP Envy, and I have the 15" one, but it's still pretty similar because there's no covers with the EU return key [the one that's shaped like a 7]. So after alot of searching, I went on the second page of Google [!!!] and I found this link that provides customized clear keyboard covers!
The catch? It covers the entire bottom portion of your laptop, including the touchpad. So for me the idea of a plasticky touchpad is kind of repelling, but I'm not sure what you would prefer, so I'll just leave the link here.

However, if you do find one that only covers the keyboard, be sure to mention it as that would infinitely be better.
     Good luck!

    btw: its a 15" mbp

Whether you're talking about the old MacBook Pro (with "PowerBook" style keyboard) or the new unibody Late 2008 MacBook Pro (with chiclet, MacBook Air style keyboard), the BEST one I think, because I searched far and wide and tried them "all" out, is from iSkin.
It's not sticky (like ZCover's) and it's not el cheapo like some other ones I've seen that advertise as not being sticky (it literally, the silicone cover, sticks to your fingers while typing), but look like crud.
I am typing with one right now. It is fantastic. I bought the "painted on" ones. It was the Arctic Pro Touch FX model.
    Here it is:

(If you have the older MacBook Pro, just go to the right section on their website. You can also choose which ever color you like, of course. I just liked how the keyboard cover I got looks like there is NO keyboard cover at all!).
P.S. KBCovers also sells a similar cover and they are not sticky either. I just didn't find out about them until after I bought my iSkin one. (Was at Macworld last week, why I was able to "test drive" all the models before settling on one). Also, PowerSupport is coming out with one--according to the dealers there--but it's not out yet. Their demo is also not the sticky kind. (Too much info?).

  • HT3050 where can I buy a battery compartment (screw in) cover for the 2007 apple wireless keyboard?

I need to find a (screw in type) battery compartment cover for this 2007 apple wireless keyboard.
The cover for the 2009 version does not work.  Even though it is similar--the three battery system requires a different cover.  Where can I possible get one of these parts?

Contact Apple to see if they can obtain one (Apple store would be the best bet).

  • Should I use a keyboard cover with the new retina screen?

Someone in an apple store told me I shouldn't use a silicone keyboard cover on the new 13" macbook pro w/ retina because apparently theres not enough space for it when the laptop is closed and its been causing faults? Anyone know anything about this?

It also blocks the air intake.
I use the original thin foam packaging that comes between the screen and KB from the factory to reduce debris gettting in and the monitor getting impressions.
Since it's light and thin, lets air get in under it and into the machine throught the keyboard, deflects spills it's been great for the last few years.
I use a external keyboard and scroll wheel mouse to take the wear and tear, I hate trackpads anyway.

  • Keyboard cover for Late 2008 Unibody MB Pro?

Hi, was just wondering if anyone has found a good keyboard cover for a Unibody Late 2008 MB Pro.  I recently purchased this Moshi ClearGuard keyboard cover but it didn't fit, despite a few people saying it did in the reviews.
    Thanks,
    Evan

Most keyboard covers don't seem to fit well, as also trapping additional heat on the machine. I've been using these MBP's since 2006 and never had a need or desire for a keyboard cover. (never had a keyboard issue, of course I never run it thru the dishwasher,or use it in the shower, or use it for a stand to run my espresso machine)...
the additional heat will do your machine no help.
Being careful and using common sense is your best protection.
    Your call though

  • Is there a  reason to purchase a protective cover for the back of the iPad2?

I am buying an iPad 2 soon and want to purchase the Zaggmate case with keyboard. The back of the iPad woud be exposed even though the screen would be protected. Is it necessary to purchase a cover for the back of the iPad other than for "gripping" reasons?

Purely personal preference, IMO.  In fact, any case is a matter of personal choice - I know many people who use their iPads naked as they don't like anything encumbering it.  Do what pleases and works for you.

  • Does using a keyboard cover block the fans?

I am using an iSkin keyboard cover for my MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display purchased in 2012. I was wondering if using this keyboard cover hinders the fans' performance.

  • Keyboard cover for Thinkpads

Hi, I am interested in buying some keyboard cover, mostly to prevent dust from settling on my new Thinkpad L520's keyboard.
Looking around, mostly on ebay, I have seen keyboard covers supposedly compatible with Thinkpads (featuring the trackpoint) but the images tell another story.
Has anyone ever bought any such keyboard cover for their laptop? Is it worth it?
    Would greatly value your input
I am currently watching the following keyboard covers

    Thank you for your response.
Is there any particular keyboard cover that Lenovo endorses, i.e. has tested to fit properly with Thinkpads?
As I said, I am worried a little bit about the trackpoint usability being affected.
Some covers/skins seem to have a hole for the trackpoint, others have the plastic wrapped around the trackpoint.
This is the case with some skins sold by Lenovo USA (not available fore newer models and outside the US)

  • Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for my iPad Air

Hi all: 3 day ago I bought one Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for my iPad Air in black; but I don't like the combination with my white IPad Air and I lost the receipt. If somebody has a white one and want to interchange it please let me know. Thanks!

The Air 2 is slightly thinner, bit is essentially the same size as the Air, so while it may be ever so slightly loose it should still work just fine.

  • Hi, I'm currently browsing the web looking for a case that is compatible with the smart cover for the iPad 2. If anyone has any suggestions I would be glad to read all opinions! Thanks!

Hi, I'm currently browsing the web looking for a case that is compatible with the smart cover for the iPad 2. If anyone has any suggestions I would be glad to read all opinions! Thanks!

I love the Smart Cover. It fits the way I work and I love the instant on/off and the always available screen protection. I wouldn't use my iPad without it.
I got a Cover Buddy for the back, because I wanted the back to be less slippery when I'm using the iPad in the classroom, teaching. I picked this back cover because it's VERY lightweight, easy to get on or off and, protects the corners, has accurate cutouts for the ports, and (in the colors) has a rubberized surface:

I have a Built NY "hoody" slip on case with a hard internal shell that I use when I'm in the field and I can put the iPad with the Smart Cover and the Cover Buddy inside this . But for everyday use, the Smart Cover with the Cover Buddy is a terrific combination.

  • Can you buy a slide out keyboard case for the six plus? Like you can for the 6.

can you buy a slide out keyboard case for the 6 plus?

There are 2 separate issues here:
    - The Apple 30 pin to USB cable was redesigned to remove the 2 button squeeze feature pricesley because of your issue with the buttons falling off and consumers being unable to disconnect the cords.  The newly redesigned cable removes these 2 side buttons for a shorter 30 pin connector that will work just fine in Apple devices.  If there is an ergonomic reason for wanting the larger 2 button design you can buy a host of 3rd party Apple 30 pin to USB cables on the market.  http://store.apple.com/us/product/MA591G/C/apple-30-pin-to-usb-cable?fnode=3a
http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Meter-Charging-Cable-iPhone/dp/B004SBBD8U/ref =sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1370983635&sr=1-5&keywords=30+pin+apple+usb - 3rd party Apple 30 pin USB cable that should replace the functionality you are looking for.
    - The issue of your iPad reporting that it isn't charging is a DIFFERENT issue.  Your USB cable is FINE.  The reason you are getting this message is beacuse the Power Adaptor that the USB cable plugs into isn't providing enough electrical juice.  If you are plugging your USB cable into your PC it might not be getting enough power.  If you are plugging it into your iPhone Power Adaptor (5W) it isn't strong enough to charge your iPad with it on (it will trickle charge if you have your iPad off).  What you need is the Apple 12W charger for iPad.  Your original power adapter that came with you iPad 2 was a 10W charger that Apple no longer sells.  Make sure the USB cable you are using it plugged into either a 10W or 12W power adapter!  http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_ipad/ipad_accessories/power
Tech speak if interested: the 12W charger uses the USB cable to detect which iPad is connected and gives it 1 AMP for iPhone, 2.1 AMP for iPad 1,2 & Mini and 2.4 AMP for iPad 3&4.

I have an ipad3 and wireless keyboard but for the life on me can not type a pound (GBP) symbol - can anyone help?

I would think you'd have to change the language to British English to get the pound sign. THat or turn off your wireless keyboard and get the pound sign from the on screen keyboard, then turn your wireless board back on.
