Keyboard delete question

Is there a forward delete key as well as a backward delete? I am looking for something similar to in a windows computer where I have both backspace and delete keys. Thanks

On a full-size Apple USB keyboard, there is a forward-delete key. On a wireless keyboard, use the key combination fn-delete.

Deleted Questions Still display in Published Version

After deleting a Question slide and inserting a new Quesion
Slide, The deleted question still appears in the published version.
In addition, the new Question will only display after completing
the quiz and going back to review. It then displays as incomplete.
Before republishing the presentation with the new Question, I

1.) How do I delete the B version of reports in Q? (Open system is not an option)
Use the T code RSZDELETE, Choose the object version as 'B', it will delete all the queries which are saved as backup.
Before that implement the correction program in the function module RSZ_X_COMPONENT_DELETE. The correction program is given in the SAp note 1097674
2.) What can I do to ensure the Actual Cutover will have B version deleted as well (A,B,M)
you can check in the same table RSRREPDIR with B as selection
3.) Why is there a B version report? Apart from due to BI7 query conversion, any other reason?
B version is a back up version. For example, you have created a query in 3.x features and changed in 7.0 query designer so generally this can't be opened in 3.x query designer. But if you wanted to do same, you can overwrite the current version of the query with back version so that it can be opened in 3.x query designer, you will loose all the changes done with 7.0 designer.

My BT keyboard delete button now forward deletes rather than backspacing like it used to do. This happened after I got my iMac back from the hard drive replacement program. Any ideas how to return the keyboard to the default backspace?

The good news after my hard drive was replaced during Apple's Seagate replacement program -- all my data and settings reinstalled seamlessly through Time Machine and my external hard drive. Bad news? My BT keyboard will now only forward delete when I hit the delete key rather than backward delete. I find this so ironic since I hated this feature when I switched from PC to Mac, but now I'm totally used to it. I tried resetting the default under system preferences, but it didn't help. Otherwise, keyboard works perfectly. This is so strange. Anyone have any suggestions? Oh -- and now I see my arrows don't work either.

Jampack and keyboard connection questions

2 questions:
1. I have just bought GB Jampack (the one with lots of extra loops), but can't seem to notice any difference. How do I know that the disc has downloaded OK? Can't remember how many loops were there in the first place!
2. I'm trying to connect an Roland SK-50 Soundcanvas keyboard. Do I need some sort of interface or drivers before it will work?
Very basic questions, I know, but hey, that's what this discussion group is for isn't it?!

How do I know that the disc has downloaded OK?
If you bought the JamPack DVD you didn't download anything. Did you run the installer on the JamPack DVD?
To see just loops from your JamPack disc, open the Loop Browser and click on the top bar where it likely says "Loops" with a double arrow, and select "JamPack 1". Then only loops from the JamPack will show in the loop browser.

What kind of conection doesd it have? All I could find was " complete with direct Mac or PC connection" and "Connections: MIDI In, MIDI Out, MIDI Thru, Line In (LR), Line Out (LR), Computer port, and 1/8" stereo headphones jack."
"Computer Port" isn't very specific. Is it a USB connection? You might need to find a driver for it. Does the Manual say anything about installing software to make it work?

Keyboard delete and caps lock keys not working after update

Shortly after a windows update two keys, delete and caps lock do not work. I have tried the following
1. system restore..it says it cannot restore as a file is missing. I have used this function before without any problem.
2. Update key board driver (standard PS/2)..it says latest version is installed.
3. Uninstall and reinstall.
4. Reset using the remove batteryt hold down power key option.
The caps lock and delete does not work in Notepad or MS Word.
It seems unlikely that the two keys themselves are damaged as it is unlikely that they would both fail at the same time and the problem after the windows undate is suspicious.
I am using Windows 7 Home premium on a 64 bit HP G62.

Here's another test...since your laptop has USB ports get or borrow a USB keyboard and try it and if all those keys work and test then the results would mean your laptop keyboard has stop functioning as least you narrow done the problem.

IBook G4 Keyboard Replacement Question

I need to replace the keyboard on my iBook G4 14" 1.42GHz which I bought in Sep 2005.
However, I can't figure out which replacement keyboards online are compatible.
The bar code number on the keyboard is KY5322DDTGKA.
I see sellers saying that their replacement keyboards are compatible with p/n 922-6637, 922-6189, 922-6913, PBF8415 for instance. I can't figure out though if my iBook is compatible with this.
Can someone give me the correct Apple part number for a replacement keyboard that is compatible with my iBook?

iFixit lists Apple part numbers, then says, this keyboard works in all G4 14" iBooks.
PowerBook Medic also suggests the part is interchangeable.

Keyboard "Delete" Key

Hi eveyone, how are all of you? I have a little problem. I am using Keyboard event to call a function i-e, when user press the Delete key, the selected object will be deleted. Now the problem is that when I press only Delete key, nothing happens but if I press "TAB+Delete", it works 100% fine.
If am using condition "if(event.keyCode == 46)". I want it to work on pressing "Delete" key instead of "Tab+Delete".
If anyone of you has any idea about this issue, please let me know .... I'll be really really thankfull to you.

A common way to handle global key presses is to create a listener for the KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN or KeyboardEvent.KEY_UP
event on the application. Listeners on the application container are
triggered every time a key is pressed, regardless of where the focus is
(as long as the focus is in the application on not in the browser
controls or outside of the browser). Inside the handler, you can
examine the key code or the character code using the charCode and keyCode properties of the KeyboardEvent class.
It works when you press TAB because TAB essentially gets a child from the display list and focuses on it. Once your application/object has focus ( because you pressed TAB ) the keyboard listener can react. If your application is out of focus then it won't react to any keyboard events.
In case your object is selected and your application has focus and it's still not reacting then you could try using event.preventDefault(); to prevent default behavior; if that's not helping either then you need to recheck your code because the problem is in your code somewhere.

Save and delete question

How to find out if there are other related records in another table.
If there are other related record then delete is not allowed.
For eample, Order has many items in it. 2 tables -Order Table and OrderItem table - one to many relationship.
Then Can't delete a record in the order table if there are related record in the OrderItem table.
I have 3 text fields. Enter data in it and then press the save button.
It will save it to the database.
how to force people to enter the data.
That is, if they press save and if any of the 3 text fields is empty then
show a message box saying need to fill in all text fields.
How to find out if the text field is empty?
How to save to multiple tables.
That is, how to save the master table first then the detail tabes.
For example, there is a order table and a orderItem table.
When save button is clicked. must save to Order table first then to
orderItem table.
How to find out if the user is saving the data and that data already
exists in database. So this is wrong. Can't have duplicate data.

use the transction to delete.if u found any of the conditions u mention rollback.seee the Connection class in jdbc API.normally its AtuoCommint true.so before starting transction setAutoCommit fasle.
second question:
in the saveButton action performed first check the textField.getText().equals("") for all the 3 textfields.if the condtions doesnt met popup optionpane.showdialog();
if met just save it.
3 rd question answer:
this also same like first question.try to save in transaction.if anything happens wrong everything will be rollbacked.
4th question:
use unique in sql .u can set the 1 r more columns in table as unique key.
for all these to work ur database shud support transactions....

Third-party keyboard security question

Hello everyone,
Apple says that third-party keyboard developers have access to all of the data user types. Then it says "If you enable Full Access", developers are permitted to access, collect and transmit the data you type".
So my questions are:
1. Do developers have access to the data I type with full access enabled or no?
2. If I'm using apple keyboard but third-party keyboard is installed do they still have access to the data I type?
For example: When I access to my credit card I will use apple keyboard but while I'm chat in Facebook or watsApp I use third-party keyboard. Do they(Third-party keyboard devs) have access to my credit card password?

NO. The 3rd party keyboard is only communicating with your iPad.

Wireless Keyboard Delete Key not working properly

Recently, my wireless keyboard's delete key has been malfunctioning. Instead of erasing right to left, it deletes left to right. This is without pressing other buttons such as the fn key. Also, the left and right keys do not move the cursor properly such as in the address bar. They only move the page up and down. It works normally right at start up and after I restart the computer but after a few minutes it goes back. Is there a problem with my settings or the keyboard itself? Thank you for your help!

I do not know of a setting that would do that - especially intermittently.
I would suspect the KB is failing/has failed.

Launchpad deletion question mark on steam games and other apps

Hello, when in launchpad some icons if double clicked have a question mark that appears than if you hold them down the jiggle and the black x appears unlike before you double clicked it what does this mean? As an example I created a desktop shorcut for a steam game and put the icon in launchpad than I dumped the icon on the desktop in the trash. When I tried to use the jiggly method to delete the launchpad icon no x appeared but when I double clicked it a question mark appeared and than the little black x? Has what I did damaged the game or app ina anyway?

They may be in Users/your_name/Library/Application Support depending on how they were installed.

Keyboard delete button and alv response

Hello friends,
I have a problem with editable alv.
In alv grid if i select a line and press the delete button on the keyboard, then the data is getting deleted.
i do not want that to happen.
how can i stop it from happening?
Note: I am not talking about the delete icon which alv provides. I mean the DELETE BUTTON ON THE KEYBOARD

I know what you mean, but surely when you are typing it makes sense to have a backspace key and not delete as the cursor is ahead of the error.
Also, a simple tap on the screen at the place you want to edit also means that you can position the cursor after the error. Then, again, you can use the backspace key.
Personally, I have never felt the need for a delete key, but you should leave feedback for Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
I presume you are aware that if you hold your finger on the screen that you can move and select text anywhere on the screen.

Check delete question

Dear all,
Is there any trigger (or methods) in Forms that we can check immediately when the value of the field was changed without go to another field?
(Change value means clear the value by using back-space or delete button on the keyboard or when user type every word in the field.)
I am using Forms 10g.

not in forms-standard.
in forms 10g you could write a javabean overwriting the standard VTextField-class and check key-presses.
What is your actual requirement?

There is a "very dirty" way to implement it with standard-forms-functionality, but i wouldn't recommend using it:
create a WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE-trigger at form-level, in it save the items value to some control-item.
create a timer with some short time and in WHEN-TIMER-EXPIRED check if the actual field-value is different from the one saved in the WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE-trigger
This solution has some disadvantages:
the timer forces a network trip,
if the time is choosen to short, then the form will do nothing but tripping over the network,
if the time is chosen to long, you will not get the userchange early enough for whatever you want to do.
as said before, i would not recommend doing it this way.

Keyboard layout question

Out of interest, is there an easy way to make/print/download or otherwise obtain a visual keymap for the Mackbook - what keys do what with given modifiers etc?
I know you can use the keyboard viewer, I was thinking of something hardcopy for a visual reference.
On that note, can anyone tell me what fn-6 on the UK keyboard (a sort of square box with a superimposed 'x') is for?

I compared your keyboard to a great list i found on wikipedia, I believe it most closely resembles a Portuguese Brazilian Keyboard. Looking at it key for key, it is an exact match with the exception of the E key. Hope this helps!

Keyboard illumination question.

I just bought a 15 in macbook pro. the question I have is that I thought the keyboard was only suppose to illuminate when there was no light. My keyboard stays lit up all the time. I even used it in a brightly lit room and it is still on. Do i need to change some settings or what? any help appreciated, thanks.

You think it should do the complete opposite of what it does, which, imo, is only logical. The illumination stays on all the time, even when it's lit, but then gets dimmer when the light goes down (if you have the key illuminations set to full and then turn the light off, you'll see it goes down halfway). I'm like you, this seems backwards, but for some reason this is the way Apple has set it up. I wrote them a message saying I thought this was stupid. You should too. Maybe they're fix it.
