Keyboard doesn't appear when trying to type into Numbers cell

I'm having a strange problem trying to use the latest Numbers app on my iPad 2,.
I opened a new spreadsheet but the virtual keyboard doesn't appear when I try to enter text in a cell. I can only get the "Paste" option. When I hit that, it enters text I'd cut and pasted from a NY Times article into a Facebook post two days ago. I thought that I'd just paste it then delete that column later but when I move to the next column, the same "Paste" option appears.
I can title the spreadsheet; I just can't type into the body of the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet and cells aren't locked.
I've been using the latest version of Numbers on my desktop with no issues at all. I have no idea why this is happening. Any suggestions? Thanx.

Things are working the way the were intended to. A single tap on a cell brings up the Cut/Copy/Paste/Delete/Fill/Comment menu. A double tap brings up the input screen. If the cell is formatted as text you will get the text keyboard right away. If formatted as a date or number then those screens show. You are given the option to change the data type here. If you are in a form you will be ruled by the format and unable to change it there.

I sometimes get a GREEN SCREEN appearing when i try to boot into windows7 64bit using bootcamp. The computer freezes on this green screen and i have to power down the computer and restart it sometimes twice before it will load windows. Any suggestions on how to correct this problem???
Computer specs: 15" macbook pro, i7 processor, 4GB RAM, 512MB nividia GT330M graphics,
Bootcamp version 3.0.2, Windows7 64bit ultimate installed on a 100GB partition.

Nobody following their procedures and posting on their site has had any (reported) video issues, but that was my guess, that somehow video drivers are not being loaded.
BTW, did you mean "hold the option key" at bootup cause my mac keyboard doesn't have an alt key?

Problems appearing when exporting excel file into numbers file

I have a Problem, need HELP!!
I have an excel file with graphics, and data are written on graphs: these data are percentages. When I export my excel file on numbers (becomes therefore a numbers file), my problem appears: When I have for example 24% on a graph, it becomes 0.24 and I can't find the way to write it 24% again.
Also I have a problem with graphics titles: when I export the excel file into numbers, graphics title are not correctly centered anymore and I cannot find the way to fix them correctly...

It seems that only sectorial charts may display percent.

Sounds as if you are in cases where the charts are imported as a single graphic block, not as different components.

Keyboard doesn't appear in Messages+ on HTC M8

My keyboard doesn't appear when I try to type a message in Messages+. It appears when I type in the to box. Instead of the keyboard I have a box lets you send gifts, photos, audio, etc. I've tried restarting numerous times with no effect. Has anyone else had this issue? I like the verizon messaging app and don't want to use another, if possible.

You've come to the right place for help! Being able to use the keyboard while in the message + app is definitely important.
When did this issue start? Do you have the most current software version running on the phone http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-95738/? Have you checked that the Verizon Messages+ application is updated to version 5.5.17 or later. Please go to the Google Playstore and update the Verizon Messages+ application and retest.

Ps: I have ios7

If you have an external keyboard, the virtual one doesn't show off. Make sure your external keyboard is disconnected.
Also try to hard reset your device by simultaneously pressing the home and sleep/wake buttons until the device reboots.

My on screen keyboard does not appear when I use Notes app. The + sign (to add a new note) does not function to create a new note

Try closing the Notes app completely and see if it works when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Notes 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Notes app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Zeros being generated when trying to type

When trying to type in a search window , my computer starts automatically typing zeros .
Also the scroll bar wont stay down , it jumps back to the top .
I posted this question awhile ago and the '' Solution '' that worked at the time was to use ' Safe Boot '
which did correct it . However it's happening again . Tried "Safe Boot ' a few times with no success.
Tried Disk Utility.. and it just repaired library/colour which is what it did when i've tried it before
Have let it rest a couple of days.. and then found i could Select things but as soon as i typed in the Finder search window .... the zeros start typing and now cant Select coz the scroll bar jumps up
[Also i tried downloading an updated version of Firefox and it wouldnt open . Same thing happened when trying to download another software demo ,,,,,it couldnt be installed ]

Tried using my graphics tablet instead of mouse when unable to scroll and select anything but tablet wouldnt work till i Restarted computer and then tablet worked . This is a really erratic problem.

Since upgrading to 5.1, my oncreen keyboard does not appear when it needs to

since i have done the upgrade, my on-screen keyboard does not appear when it needs to. I keep having to restart my system to make it happen.... Is there a special way to display the keyboard manually, or should it be automatic?

regarding your issue lets see what we can do to solve this issue.
- have you tried safe boot
safe boot = starting up the mac with the SHIFT- button.
- when entering safe mode you will be able to enter and quick change some settings
now next question do the unwanted aplications still load in safe mode , if so
go to the Apple icon -> System preferences -> user & groups -> login items (top right on the screen from user & groups window) now at login items u can close any unwanted aplications by deleting them or unmarking them
- unwanted aplications will now disapear when starting up your mac os x system
- next issue should be your authentication , this will be a bit more tricky , lets see
same category user & groups and u will see your admin account try seeing if u have enabled the admin account right click on your admin account to see information about it and compare it if your info is correct , next see if you have authorized your admin account to write & read.
if these still don't work , make a test account to see if this problem is user wide or system wide.

This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Photo doesn't appear when a contact calls until after answer (iOS 7)

When I recieve a call from a contact the photo (sync'd with Facebook) doesn't appear when the phone is ringing. Once answered the photo appears on the in call screen. I'm sure it appeared whilst ringing in iOS 6?

I have this same problem with SMS, recent calls, vm, etc. it started after i re-synced my contacts form MoblieMe and I can't seem to get it to recognize the number as a saved contact.
