Keyboard: Duplicate keys while typing

Hi evrbdy,
I have a PB G4 1.5 with 2GB upgraded memory. I have a problem with the keyboard, eventought is not major, is annoying.
While using the keyboard, sometimes while typing, the keys entered get duplicated, even that the keeyboard stroke was a single one. I.E. the keyboard word I just wrote, but in the application it comess as a double e. it happens with most of the keys and is an erratic behavior, sometimes happens sometimes not, ddepending on the computer mood.
Any comment on this will be highly appreciated, since I couldn´t find any help like this on the net.
Regardds.

I am still relatively new to the Mac world- just got my Powerbook in August. I had high hopes for Apple's service when it came to getting my keyboard replaced due to this 9 key problem.
I've had SEVERAL, make that TONS of problems with just about every other computer company getting service so when I called APple and spoke to a guy who actually spoke english as a first language, I knew this was going to go well.
5 minutes into the conversation (thats 5, NOT 55) the service call was set up and I was all set and off the phone.
THEN, I sent the computer out to Apple on Tuesday thinking that I'd get it back in a week or so and two days later its back at my door, all healed!
Needless to say I am impressed. I have a renewed appreciation for my computer and the company that makes it.
So long as Apple doesn't screw with their service and support system, I will not be switching back.

Everywhere that I've checked it is not possible to do this. I would like to even do this using the vkb. I hate having to stretch my thumb all the way up just to send a message. It's messaging, not a report or email. Seems backwards. Hopefully some day Apple can add this option.

  • Notes duplicates pages while typing

Has anyone experience this issue.  When I'm typing on Notes with Mountain Lion, it starts duplicating the page.  I can get up to 10 duplicate pages.  I've tried not touching the touchpad while I type and it still does it.  It's almost like it's backing up the page every 5 seconds.

I've experienced a similar issue, where under Mountain Lion, if I view "All Notes", I get what appear to be endless (up to 60, but that is probably just an indication of how long I was editing that note) autosaved versions of the same note, but growing as it's added to minute by minute. Given I have notes on iCloud and others on my mac only, All Notes is a good way to look at them all, but with all these versions added in, is useless.
Solutions for now would be (1) delete all the files in "Recovered Items" and/or (2) move all On My Mac Notes to iCloud (or visa versa, if that is you preferred default) and select the appropriate location, not "All Notes", as your viewing point for all notes.
A third option is to hope Apple fix a more sophisticated handling of the autosaved files in future releases, as this is very clunky.

  • My keyboard switches languages while I'm typing...

I only have two languages set as keyboards (British and German) but when I´m typing with the British keyboard, it switches to German.
Not the most frustrating problem, but it´s a bit aggravating to find out you´ve been typing things like -Reallz_ thatäs so neatö Iäll have to trz it sometime-.....
    Any suggestions?

You might try to see whether or not you have key commands set up that allow the computer to move from the one language to the other.  In other words, look under the System Preferences at the Keyboard settings.  Under the section titled Keyboard and Text Input, you will see check boxes for "Select the previous input source" and "Select the next input source".  To the right of these lines are the key combinations that allow you to change the language of the keyboard.  If you use the key combination for either of these two items, you will change the language.  It can be easy to do this accidentally in typing.  Either uncheck these two items so that keystrokes do not activate an unwanted language, or highlight the keystrokes next to the checked items and then put in a key combination that you will only hit purposefully, such first hold down the three keys for shift, control, command simultaneously and then hit the = key.  Such a key combination of four keys is probably unlikely to be hit accidently while typing.  My setting for "Select the previous input source" is set to option and space, but I find I sometimes bump this combination while typing, and I think the default for OS X is command and the space bar, which might be even worse.

My IPad freezes while typing emails. Touchscreen keyboard as well as Bluetooth keyboard. How do I fix this?

It may certainly matter that the account is IMAP. Try the following variation of the procedure to re-create the index:
    1. Quit Mail if it’s running.
    2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/. Make a backup copy of this folder, just in case something goes wrong, e.g. by dragging it to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down. This is where all your mail is stored.
    3. Locate Envelope Index and move it to the Trash. If you see an Envelope Index-journal file there, delete it as well.
    4. Move the “IMAP-” account folder to the Trash. Note that you can do this with IMAP-type accounts because they store mail on the server and Mail can easily re-create them. DON’T trash any “POP-” account folders, as that would cause all mail stored there to be lost.
    5. Open Mail. It will tell you that your mail needs to be “imported”. Click Continue and Mail will proceed to re-create Envelope Index -- Mail says it’s “importing”, but it just re-creates the index if the mailboxes are already in Mail 2.x format.
    6. As a side effect of having removed the IMAP account folder, that account may be in an “offline” state now. Do Mailbox > Go Online to bring it back online.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder.

  • After upgrade to iOS8 on my iPhone5, I do not see smart keyboard options while typing message or email text

after upgrade to iOS8 on my iPhone5, I do not see smart keyboard options while typing message or email text

Go to Settings>General>Keyboards>Predictive Text>ON. If it is on, you can toggle it off and then back on. The other method is to check in the typing area of the Messages app and it could be minimized. You would see a small line in the center just below the typing area. You would just need to put your finger on that small line and swipe upwards. But either should bring it back.

  • How do I hide the keyboard while typing an email?

On the iPad you can hide the keyboard anytime while typing.  I cannot see a way to hide the keyboard when typing a mail message. I saw a post saying you close, save, go to your saved messaes and open the message again - too time consuming.  There is a fix on the jailbroken site, but I dont want to jailbreak the phone.  There must be a way to hide the keyboard in a mail messge.  In a text message you can.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Edit
I CAN, but not fully for a preview, as the text box goes up completely after 80 odd characters on the iPhone.
So, now i cannot see a previous message for reference.
Apple needs to incorporate a  'hide keyboard' button

  • Keyboard lag while typing

I was wondering if anyone else experienced a lag in the on screen keyboard while typing in certain apps? I have an app that lets me text my friends but as I try to type I can type out a whole sentence or two before the words on appear on screen. Does anyone know why this happens or how I might fix it? In advance thank you for any and all help

I've had this happen a time or two on my iPad. Usually quitting the app and restarting it solves the problem.
Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it jiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the app and see if it works normally.

  • Error while Upgrading 7.6 to 2007A - duplicate key in object 'dbo.NNM1'

    Hello,
We are trying to upgrade our client from SBO 7.6 SP01 to SBO 2007 SP01 version (It is supported by sap to skip 2004 version)
Upgrade ends with the following error:
[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]The CREATE UNIQUE INDEX statement terminated because a duplicate key was found for the object name 'dbo.NNM1' and the index name 'NNM1_PRIMARY'. The duplicate key value is (0).
I can see with profiler, that upgrader is trying to do the following query:
ALTER TABLE [dbo].[NNM1]  ADD CONSTRAINT [NNM1_PRIMARY] PRIMARY KEY (Series)
As I can see, in SBO 7.6 nnm1 table numbering was different than in the new versions (for example 2007A) u2013
In 7.6 ver. Numbering in  u201Cseriesu201D column was starting from 0 within certain object, hereu2019s example:
    <Objectcode>     <series>         <seriesname>
    ___17     __________0___     sales_order_series1
    ___17          __________1___     sales_order_series2
    ___17          __________2          ___sales_order_series3
    ___15          __________0          ___delivery_series1
    ___15          __________1          ___selivery_series2
In SAP 2007A version column series has unique values so for above example it should be:
    <Objectcode>     <series>         <seriesname>
    ___17          __________0___          sales_order_series1
    ___17          __________1___          sales_order_series2
    ___17          __________2___          sales_order_series3
    ___15          __________3___          delivery_series1
    ___15          __________4___          selivery_series2
Anyone had that problem while upgrading from 7.6 to 2007A (or maybe from 7.6 to 2004?).

    Dear Daniel,
Reported upgrade issue needs a further investigation therefore please log a support message with a component SBO-BC-UPG via the Service Market Place.
Please also attach 'UpgradeLog' files to the message. You will find the log files in the same directory as your B1 client (b1loggerPidxxxx_xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.txt; B1UpgradePidxxxx_xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.txt)

The sound goes off and on while typing on keyboard

I would try to power cycle the device by holding the sleep/wake button till is says turn off. Maybe even reset by holding the sleep/wake and the home button at the same time. by chance if none of that works back up your device and restore it. Sounds like a software issue so that should fix it. You could always contact apple support aswell.

  • Text selected while typing, history forgotten after hibernate

After hibernating/screen saver/suspend I get the following two problems:
    1. While typing in address field and Google Search field, the text gets selected at random events, so that what I have typed is erased. E.g. I try to type "google", but after typing "goo", this gets selected, so that it is overwritten by "gle".
    2. The URL history is temporarily forgotten, so if I start typing an address in the address field, I get no suggestions.
Both these problems go away after a few minutes, and return after the next screen saver/hibernate/suspend.
I am running Firefox 3.6.13 at Ubuntu 10.04. I have tried to disable all add-ons, without luck.

I checked this option - I disable HotKeysCmd - nothing changed. I did even more. I deleted everything on my computer which related to Adobe, and iven went to Program Files and cleaned it up. Then I restarted several time and everytime I did "disk clean up".
I reinstall the photoshop. "Enter" works woth comments tool, but not with typing tool.
At the adobe help I found that
iPress Enter on the main keyboard  for new line and Press the Enter key on the numeric keypad to Commit Editing
I am using a laptop computer, and I have only one "Enter" button on main keyboard, but for some reason it works as "Numeric Enter",
and  I do not have a "return" button.

  • Satellite A100-165; while typing cursor jumps to other location

    Hi,
When i write with the keyboard sometimes the cursor jumps to another location,
Just right now it jumped to the "subject" input of the thread.
    It's pretty random where it jumps but very annoying, i am running a Toshiba satellite a100 165;
Anyone got any ideas what this could be?

    Hi
    I had the same issue
I didnt notice that I touched the touchpad surface accidently while typing.
This was the reason why the cursor jumped.
You can disable the touchpad using the key combination FN+F9
Furthermore the BIOS update would be advisable too.
