Keyboard Functionality Inactive within the Citrix Environment

I'm having issues with the keyboard application in my Playbook not engaging with the Citrix app, in which I'm unable to type in any input fields. The only thing I can basically do is navigate through "clicking." 
It seems that the core application doesn't respond when it is being called by the Citrix app.   Could this be a software update/compatibility issue of which Blackberry can resolve, or is this an issue remote to Citrix?

Unfortunately the screenshot you attempted to post, I assume to show the comm error, is not appearing (at least not for me).
What's the error your users are seeing?
The most common issue I've seen with Citrix are permission issues... not sure how that would relate here though...

    Are these the most used Workflows within the SAP environment or is something missing?
    And what is the difference between <i>SAP Business Workflow</i> and <i>SAP Webflow</i>? Some source say these two are nearly the same, except the "web-capability" of Webflow...

    Please be assured that there was no irony or sarcasm intended - if you can complete the evaluation task that you have set for yourself, it will not only be a wonderful achievement but also something that I'm sure many here would want to read and comment on.
    The one thing to keep in mind - perhaps the most important thing - is that technological alternatives are never pursued rationally.  Rather, they are generally pursued for the worst of reasons - someone's opinion of where "the market" is going at any given point in time.
    So unless you can get an SAP "insider" to explain to you why SAP's workflow alternatives developed the way they did, you will not really have a complete picture.
    Of course, it's also true that sometimes good things can happen for the worst of reasons, so perhaps the "inside" history of workflow at SAP is irrelevant.
    The reason I'm going on about this is because I still don't think "the powers that be" at Walldorf have realized yet that the way to get pre-NW clients to NW200nx (NWDS, WDA, WDJ, GP, VC) is to get them to use regular old workflow first.
    There is <i><b>nothing</b></i> in NWDS, WDA, WDJ, GP, and VC that can't be done in a pre-NW environment using a combination of user exits, BAdI's, BAPI's, and workflows.
    And if SAP customers were to start using these older techniques to implement "integrated" and "process-driven" applications, then they would get into a "state-of-mind" that would make them much more confident of their ability to handle NW techniques, and much more aware of the benefits resuling therefrom.
    As the old saying goes -
    <i><b>you've got to take folks from what they know to what they don't</b></i>
    i.e. you can't simply "shock and awe" customers into what you want them to start using.
    Sorry to go on like this, but all these matters are tied up in the project you are about to undertake ...

  • LMS communication error in Citrix environment

    I've recently deployed a module created with Captivate 8 into Kallidus LMS and am finding a number of users are receiving the LMS communication error when they attempt to launch the module:
    I've tested the module on our test and production sites, as well as on Scorm Cloud and was able to replicate the error across all three.  The issues seems to mostly affect our users who access the internet from within a Citrix environment - as far as I can tell users accessing the internet directly are not experiencing the issue.
    I was wondering whether anyone had experienced the same issue, and if there were any known fixes?

  • How to start a browser from an action within the WebUI?

    Hello experts,
    Within CRM 5.0 we have implemented an action (if_ex_exec_methodcall_ppf~execute) to start a web dynpro by directly calling its url. This is done by using the method call cl_gui_frontend_services=>execute and works fine. However, we've just upgraded to CRM 7.0 and within the WebUI environment this method raises an exception. Apparently it only works when started from the SAPgui. I have also tried calling function call_brower but with the same result.
    I have thought about how to "get back" to the WebUI environment from the coding but the problem is that I have no handle or entry point to any view or window. In other words the PPF-method is totally unaware of the WebUI.  A static get_current_window method e.g. would come in handy.
    Any ideas or suggestions?

    In the meantime I've found the necessary classes to interact nicely with the WebUI and they all provide static methods to get an entry point. I am able to navigate based on a newly created generic outbound plug with the following coding:
    lr_nav_descr = cl_crm_ui_descriptor_obj_srv=>create_ui_object_based(
      iv_ui_object_type   = 'Z_GESPREKSVERSLAG_OP'
      iv_ui_object_action = if_crm_ui_descriptor_object=>gc_action_display ).
    The actual navigation can now be started with the navigation service:
    lr_nav_service = cl_crm_ui_navigation_service=>get_instance( ).
    lr_nav_service->navigate_dynamically( lr_nav_descr_col ).

    Does someone has experience with Excel 2013 in a Citrix environment? To be more specific, we must be able to save files as a char-s-v file. I did not say as .csv file because we must be able to use the pipe character "|" as delimiter. (Historical

    AFAIK, this is not possible with Excel, therefore I've written an add-in that can be installed - let's say - on each physical CPU.
    I could install it also in the Citrix environment but don't know how to go further for the colleagues. Does everyone has to install the add-in or is there a better way and use some kind of "global" installation of the add-in?
    Will the use of the add-in by user A interfere the usage for user B?
    Or is this not a good idea at all?

    Thanks, very helpful tip. In meantime I was able to experiment a bit and has faced another issue.
    The add-in is creating a .INI file at first installation to hold the user's preferred settings. The historical reason to use an INI file is that each update was overwriting the preferred settings, replacing  them by mine. Some users prefer the international
    numberformat while others keep the Belgium format but the add-in has the option to easily switch between both formats. To respect this, I opt for an INI file because I'm not sure that everyone has the rights to change the registry (I mean by VBA; maybe, I'm
    wrong in this) and during the load of a new version it is checking if the INI exists or not. If not, force the user to define the settings or skip this part.So everyone has to use "my" preferred settings or do you have the magic way to create a personalized
    INI?
    We have all a personal folder in the Citrix environment but want to keep it as general as possible and do not see directly how to detect the environment.

    Exporting functions is recommended in the parallel man page.
    The command must be an executable, a script, a composed command, or a function. If it is a function you need to export -f the function first. An alias will, however, not work (see why http://www.perlmonks.org/index.pl?node_id=484296).
    Also, how is this a cross post?  The post you referenced is about parsing input, this one is about calling a function from within the parent script.

  • Using Captivate in a Citrix environment

    Folks, I've been asked if Captivate, if installed n a Citrix environment, will work effectively in that environment to create, edit and publish captures. Any experience of this anywhere?

    OK.  Understood.
    I'm sure this has been tried before, but the only experience I've had so far with Citrix clients was where we needed to capture what was happeing on the Citrix screen to create tutorials for people needing to use Citrix.  In that instance, we were using Captivate on the client machine, not over Citrix.  It was severall years ago now and I cannot recall which version of Captivate I was using. Might have been version Cp2 or Cp3.
    I do remember we had some issues getting Captivate to recognise the screen events to trigger the capture mechanism and had to resort to quite a bit of manual capturing to get all the screenshots we required.  My concern would be that maybe operating entirely in a Citrix environment, where both Captivate AND the other apps were inside Citrix might introduce even more possibility of there being difficulty with capturing.  Maybe others can chime in with their experiences and say if it works flawlessly or not.
    I can't recall seeing anything official from the Adobe Captivate team about supporting the Citrix environment, but I have seen issues reported: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3043849
    I've heard of other Adobe apps (e.g. Acrobat) being deployed over Citrix Metaframe, so in theory it's probably possible, though the issues I've heard of with these other apps tended to happen because they were dealing in largish file sizes.  Captivate project files can get very large very quickly.  So they might stand a chance of overloading your Citrix environment unless it was set up to specifically allow for them.

    Based on your descriptions, You are using a VB process to build excel workbook.
    Firstly I need to say I'm not familiar with VB.NET , for office client side, I can only suggest you to do it manually to check this issue.Since you said the VB process need to pull data from the data source, it might be your application fail to connect
    the data source.
    Also, to help you better, I suggest you submit a new case on MSDN forum with the part of your code and more detailed information about your issue as they will be more professional on your issue:

    If my imac is left sleeping for any length of time there is no wireless mouse or keyboard functionality and the imac keeps returning to sleep. I have to hold the power button to wake the machine as the mouse and keyboard do not work. T o rectify the problem i have to hold the power button until the mac switches off and then re-boot the machine.

    Don't sleep the computer and its HDs, just the display. I've been doing that for years, run 24/7, and never have an issue, but then again I only use wired keyboards and mice.

    my question is, would it be allowed by apple that if 1 user buys lets say 100 credits worth of content that he can gift/share his 100credits to/with other existing users?
    so can all users of the app use/share the total amount of content bought via in app purchased within the app ?
    in other words, is it possible for me to buy credits which i can use in my app, to unlock functionality and then give this functionality (total or partially) to another user that has or has not purchased also ?

    I haven't had any problems with the new iMac playing videos. So far, so good.
    As for having the OS preinstalled and no discs in the box, I recently made a recovery disk, just in case I need to reinstall the OS, since there isn't an install app anywhere on the hard drive (at least that I can find). Now, in 27 years of owning Macs, I've never had to reinstall an OS (don't ask about my Windows machines, though!). But there could always be a first time, right? Best to be prepared, just in caes...
    Also, I bought my iMac at Small Dog Electronics. I'm very happy with the price I got there, but *they* are the ones who told me I could also install the OS on my MacBook Pro--at no extra cost. When I called Apple I found out differently. So I've let Small Dog know that isn't correct and that they shouldn't be telling people that. I think the reason this happened is because my local store just opened in the past few months, and the employees there aren't as saavy and well-trained as Apple Store employees. This was my first experience not buying directly from Apple, but all in all it's been a good one.
    Larry, I got the trackpad, too. After some initial hiccups getting used to it, I absolutely love it.
