Keyboard is not very responsive

The keyboard on my ideapad U530 is not as responsive as I would like for it to be.  I have to hit the keys quite hard, which of course slows down my speed and affects the accuracy of my input.    Is there a way to change the amount of pressure that I need to use on the keyboard?

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !
There is no setting that I am aware of in Windows or the system BIOS to adjust the keyboard sensitivity on your model.  Is it certain keys or is the whole keyboard like this ?  Was it always like this or is the problem getting worse ?  If the keyboard was always like this even when the laptop was new, it could just be the way this keyboard responds to key presses.

I remember when Adobe Customer Support existed.  Weren't those the good ole days.  Now they've pawned us off on one another.  Apparently this is what we can expect from Adobe from this point forward.

  • Photoshop CC2014 is not very responsive in easy tasks

    Hello,
On my computer, Photoshop CC 2014 responds very slowly to the reaction of the cursor. More specifically, for example, when the cursor presses the top menu, the program slows down. Also navigate in the pallet layer is not smooth. It is very bad at work! In Photoshop CS5 and CC everything works normally and quickly.
Does anyone have a similar problem?
    I have Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, NVidia Quadro 3000M

Sorry if Ihave stepped anyone too close.
But I suggest me now since the update so around and trying to figure out what it is. The only thing I always get to hear, try the airflow to change or have you tried the settings and then really closed Photoshop ... blah blah. I have to explain every time that I'm not stupid and I've also used Photoshop before and I did not work the first time with Photoshop.

  • IPhone 4 very slow and not very responsive

Hello - ever since updating to ios5 my phone has been significantly slower. I close my open apps regularly and don't have a crazy amount (about 6 pages worth) but the phone is just very slow. For example, if I get a text message and go to open it, and then try to click in the text box to start typing, nothing happens. It takes a good 6-8 seconds before the phone even recognizes me touching the text bar which is incredibly annoying. The camera is often slow too, having a shutter lag of 10 seconds sometimes. I would wipe my phone and do a restore, but I think that will just restore all of my backed up data which will probably not work, and I really would not want to start from scratch and lose all of my 4 years of text message history, etc. Any ideas?

Very few apps run in the background since there is no reason or benefit for nearly all apps to do so. The overhwelming majority of apps are quit or suspended with leaving the app. An app being available in the recently used apps bar or dock does not mean the app is running in the background, and removing apps not running in the background from the recently used apps bar or dock doesn't accomplish much if anything.
How often do you power your iPhone off and on?
Try a reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release.
If no change after this, try restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup to see if this makes any difference. If not, you can restore again from the existing backup.

  • Bottom part of the itouch screen is not very responsive

My itouch recently came in counter with some water, i managed to remove the water i think. ( i used the rice method). Now the only part that is giving me issues is the bottom part of the screen. Any tips on how to fix this? Also how much would apple charge me for a repair?

basics from the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW.  Try each step in order until your problem is solved.  If not solved after ALL these steps have been tried, you'll need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation.

  • On-screen controls not very responsive

I've noticed this in a few places, but a couple spring to mind :-
The Back button that appears in some settings windows (bottom left). Often I have to press this 3 or 4 times before it will go back.
Answering the phone. The dialog tells me to swipe down, but it often takes 3 or more swipes before it actually answers the call.

    Hello mfarmilo,
To better assist you with this I have a couple questions:
Does this happen with all calls that are received?
What is the battery level when you are having these problems?
Have you tried rebooting the BlackBerry smartphone by holding down the bottom on the top of the BlackBerry smartphone and selecting restart?
    Thanks.

  • Clickwheel not very sensitive when using skins - ipod Classic 160GB

    Hello,
When using a silicone skin with the ipod classic 160GB, the respone of the clickwheel is sluggish/non-responsive. When no skin is used, the response from the clickwheel is OK, maybe a bit slow.
I've tried two different skins and have the same problem. The same skins with the previous 5.5g ipod Video had no such issues.
Perhaps there is some way in the firmware to make the clickwheel just a bit more sensitive to the touch?
    Thank you,
    Paul

    "Not very responsive" ?!?!
No response at all if I reuse my 5G silicone skin!?
With a new Belkin skin specially made for Classic - of which the skin on top of clickwheel is indeed a tad thinner - it responds sometimes, but mostly also not at all (irradically)!?
Even if the design has changed, I would expect Apple and 3rd party skin suppliers like Belkin to at least test their products for compatibility thoroughly. This really is sluggish R&D, substandard to Apple's reputation!
Anyway, I'd also cut the clickwheel part out of the skin with a Stanley knife. It's not protected but at least responsive...

Scratchy noise coming from top end of keyboard. Not effecting performance but very noisy and worrying! What is it? Is my computer seriously damaged? Is it easily fixed? Thanks for any help

It would be helpful if you were to identify the model of MBP you have.
The noise makers on a MBP are the fan(s), the HDD and the optical drive.  Can you locate the exact position where the noise is coming from?
    Ciao.

  • "I" keyboard button not responsive like other keys, help?

The letter "I" button on my keyboard on my Macbook Air 13-inch is sometimes not as responsive as the rest of the keys. While the rest of the keyboard keys require only a light touch or tap, the "I" key has to be pressed harder in order for it to work most of the time. Sometimes, it's fine. The only reason it's working while I'm typing this is because I'm making sure I don't mispell anything. It's become a huge pain when typing book reports and essays and I'd really like to know what to do or what I can do to fix this. Please help.

Any other options if the cleaning part doesn't work? Anyone? I can't afford $1,000 to get this fixed AT ALL.
If cleaning doesn't work, the only thing to be done is replace the keyboard. That's a heck of a lot cheaper than $1000 (but keep in mine, if you have damage inside, cleaning/replacing the keyboard isn't going to be the whole fix). If you definitely decide to buy a new keyboard, I'd take the old keyboard off and soak it in distilled water for a day or two, periodically working the problem keys, then tilt/shake it every which way to get as much water out as possible, then let it dry for a few days, until there's no possibility of moisture remaining inside. If it still doesn't work, nothing lost, as you were buying a new keyboard anyway.
You may also want to consider a BlueTooth/wireless keyboard. Sure, it's something else to carry around (if portability is an issue), but Apple's BT keyboard is about as small/light as possible. Something to consider.

  • My keyboard is not responsive upon booting up my iMac

I powered down my iMac for one day.  Upon booting up, my mouse and keyboard do not communicate with the screen.  How do I fix this?

    Hello:
Sorry, it is short for system management controller.
    You reset it like this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
That sometimes fixes odd problems.  It cannot hurt anything to reset the SMC.

  • Yosemite is locking my keyboard! When I start or retrieve a document the mouse will operate and I can highlight a word in Word but the keyboard will not type. I have had this start since the very first opening after updating.

I open a document to edit in Word 2013  (which shows as Word 2008) and try to save the document as a different one. The optical mouse on my MacBook Pro operates normally. Then I make the corrections as try "Save As". The screen opens and I can navigate to the folder and press "Open". I give it a name and the summary page opens to the text lines and I try to give it a new title. The keyboard does not respond and I have to cancel. I have automatic updates on and I get no update messages from Apple of Microsoft.
Anyone else havng same issues? This misspelled word will not correct by using the old method of right clicking and getting suggested corrections. it highlights but will not correct nor can I place the cursor on the exact place in the word (between the V and the n) to insert the missing "i".

Microsoft released Office for Mac 2011 update 14.4.5 for Yosemite compatibility. They are not motivated to do so for Office for Mac 2008, as it is an unsupported, end-of-life product.
Can you work through the process you described on another person's MBP with Office for Mac 2011 update 14.4.5 installed to determine if the problem you encountered is reproducible there?

  • On screen lock screen, the keyboard does not work, switching to the switch-user screen the keyboard works again

    Mac OS-X 10.7.5, Mac Air.
This began about 5 to 7 days ago.
    Steps to reproduce:
    Step 1:
Close the lid, or the system 'powers down', or goes to the screen saver mode.
    Step 2:
Open the lid, press the power button, or what ever to wake up the Mac Air
The "Enter your password" screen is presented.
They keyboard is not responsive, I cannot type anything.
The touch pad works, I can power on/off the machine.
    They keyboard is not functional.
Result: I cannot log in again.
Expected behavior: The keyboard should be working I should be able to unlock the screen.
    Workarounds:
Then click on my name, or any other user of the machine and it works fine.
I can now unlock the screen and return to where I was.
    Expected behavior:
I should not have to go to the "Switch User Screen" to log back in.

    More detail:  Some keys on the keyboard do work, ie: caps lock toggles the led, and the function keys across the top seem to work {that is I can adjust brightness, and so forth}
the letter and numbers, and perhap others do not work.
