Keyboard is very slow unresponsive

My keyboard and touchscreen Is very unresponsive and I have to really pound on touchpad occasionally to select something?

Standard troubleshooting steps in order are as follows:
Power your iPad off and on.
An iPad reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release.
Restore your iPad with iTunes from your iPad's backup.
Restore your iPad with iTunes as a new iPad or not from your iPad's backup.
If no change after these steps and you live in the U.S., you can call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.

  • Since installing ICloud, and updating IO, programs and websites close whenever I scroll, going back to home page. I have tried turning it off, but that does not work. Can anyone help me out? Also, the keyboard is very slow.

I am frustrated with the new update and the ICloud. Any program i open, or website I am in, closes suddenly, an returns to the Home page. Also the keyboard is very slow. None of this existed until I did the two updates. Can anyone help?

Does anyone know anything about onsite specifics?
I'm wondering where the onsite warranty can be in effect.  Like, can it be used in ANY city in the US?  Can it be used only in metrololitan areas?  What is a metro area in Lenovo's eyes?
Does anyone know where I can get better and accurate info on the onsite warranty?  Like a coverage map would be very helpful.  Because why should I spend the money on it, if I can't access it?
    Looking forward to more info...thanks.
There is no coverage map as such.
I live in what is considered a rural area and had techs driving 60-70 miles one way to get to me, never an issue.
    Obviously, YMMV.
In my not-so-modest experience, both onsite and accidental damage upgrades are worth every penny if one intends to keep their ThinkPads for an extended period of time.
    Good luck.

  • After installing ios7 my ipad keyboard is very slow for texting, emailing and entering passcode.  very slow

after installing ios7 on my ipad the keyboard is very slow, delayed.  text, email and passcode.

Hi Knackerman, I was racking my brain trying to think how I did this and then I remembered that at the time because of other problems I was having with my iPad and it was under extended warranty, they offered to replace it for me.
When I went to collect new one they asked if I wanted the to download iOS7 and they replied, NO, I did not, well that was enough for me and I told them to please leave it as is.
I just ignore all the reminders I receive to download iOS7 on my phone and iPad.
I am very happy with my 6 version.
I am very sorry I am unable to help, I know how you feel, I hated it, it caused so many glitches to my otherwise perfect iPad before instalment.
Overall though, I think Apple has to shake itself up, they are getting left behind in the Samsung wake.

  • Very slow, unresponsive desktop computer since downlaoding Firefox 4

I downloaded the latest version of Firefox a few days ago. Ever since then. my computer has been really slow -- sometimes it does not respond to single clicks of the mouse but requires several attempts before anything happens.

Netcfg pretty much just configures wpa_supplicant and dhcpcd. The best way to go at solving this is to manually start wpa_supplicant and dhcpcd first the way netcfg 2.5.4 does, than again the way the latest netcfg does. Look at the differences, figure out which one is causing the problem.

  • Text smudged/blurred - hardware acceleration on, page very slow/unresponsive when off

Other users have reported the same problem but the proposed solution does not work for me.
The text is blurred/smudged - only on Facebook, probably because the page is quite big. If I turn off hardware acceleration, the text is no longer blurry but the page becomes almost unresponsive - the smooth scroll is lost, actually, there's no scrolling at all - the page moves half-screen at a time (per scroll), or sometimes doesn't scroll at all.
My hardware isn't the newest thing out there but isn't that bad either, I'd imagine: AMD Phenom II X4 945 (4 x 3 GHz) and Sapphire Radeon HD 4670 (1 GB). So, if Firefox can't use the graphics adapter, isn't the processor powerful enough for it to properly render a page like FB?

I created a new boolean called "layout.paint_rects_separately" and set it to "true".
I haven't done much testing yet -- just opened FB a couple of times -- but I don't notice any smudging. Let's say problem solved!
I will write again here if it re-occurs.
    Thank you!

  • IOS 6 is very slow, unresponsive and unusable with 200 new bugs

How can I get rid of it from my phone? can I downgrade to iOS 3?... I'll settle for iOS 2 if possible

    Try a hard reset.....
Press and hold the Wake / Sleep button and the Home button at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears.

  • I just updated to the latest version of firefox yesterday. Since then, the browser has been very slow & unresponsive. When I go to tools 2 clear recent history it takes forever and then sometimes freezes. The old version worked perfectly and was very fast

Should I just go back to the old version of firefox? my OS is windows 7

Unfortunately it can not be recommended that you go back to firefox 6, some of the fixes were security fixes, and firefox 6 is no longer considered secure or supported. ( Firefox 3.6.23 was updated and is still temporarily supported, but I doubt many would consider downgrading that far)
    * see [[installing a previous version of firefox]]
Check that all your extensions are up to date. Possibly it is due to a change in the version or combinations of themes plugins and add-ons that you use. You clearly have out of date plugins showing.

  • Keyboard is working very slow while on internet

My laptop model is G 62 the keyboard is very slow while working in the internet

    Hi,
Firstly, it is not recommended to configure a DNS Server on the External Interface of the ISA Server.
I suspect this issue may cause by some worm/virus infected computers from your internal network. Please run antivirus software on both ISA Server and internal clients.
Besides, I recommend you to check in task manager or performance monitor to see if there are Heavy disk load and resource consumption, high CPU load, high memory usage and high network bandwidth consumption issues.
You can also enable logging of traffic blocked by flood mitigation:
In the console tree of ISA Server Management, click General. In the details pane, click Configure Flood Mitigation Settings. On the Flood Mitigation tab, select Log traffic blocked by flood mitigation settings.

  • TS3048 Wireless Keyboard very slow!

    Hi Guys,
Just got myself a new ipad for work as i wanted to use it to compile reports. Bought a wireless keyboard, downloaded pages and everything was hunky dory until yesterday. I disconnected my pad from the keyboard and when i came to reconnect i noticed the keyboard was very slow and jittery at typing. You go to type a word and you have typed it before it even appears on the screen, and it takes about a second for each charater to load, its ridicolous. Also i have noticed it is duplicating letters but i'm not holding down the keys for a long period of time, this seems to be really sensitive. So by the time i have typed hello it comes out out 'hhelloo', then it is just as slow deleting than it is appearing. Tried changing the batteries but this has made no difference what else can i try?
Any suggestions as i am really loosing my patience and don't want to be throwing this keyboard off of the wall any time soon!
    Chris.

    Hello:
Was the keyboard previously paired with something else?  What indications/messages do you receive?
In any event, try resetting the PRAM and SMC.
    Barry

When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is especially bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above.
Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

My macbook pro is running very slow with some strange mouse and window movements. The trackpad is very unresponsive and when responding the cursor moves on its own and/or very erratically. When on safari the window suddenly zooms in or highlights words and looks them up via dictionary. I currently have a wireless mouse connected and I am still having the same problems.
I fee like I may have a virus or my laptop is perhaps being accessed remotely. All of the sharing options are unchecked.
    HELP PLEASE
    Very worried!!

Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and
after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears.
Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).
    4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).

My MacBook pro is running very slow and unresponsive. I have mid 2010 model running on lion. Past few days it looks very unresponsive. Tried to reinstall lion as clean copy. Still no luck. Any help on this is much appreciated !
My model has 4 gb ram.

Things That Can Keep Your Computer From Slowing Down
If your computer seems to be running slower here are some things you can do:
Boot into Safe Mode then repair your hard drive and permissions:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions Pre-Lion
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Repair the Hard Drive - Lion
Boot from your Lion Recovery HD. If no errors are reported, then click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Restart your computer normally and see if this has helped any. Next do some maintenance:
    Suggestions for OS X Maintenance
For situations Disk Utility cannot handle the best third-party utility is Disk Warrior;  DW only fixes problems with the disk directory, but most disk problems are caused by directory corruption; Disk Warrior 4.x is now Intel Mac compatible.
OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are scheduled to occur on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. The maintenance scripts run in the early AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep.) If this isn't the case, then an excellent solution is to download and install a shareware utility such as Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacron, or Anacron that will automate the maintenance activity regardless of whether the computer is turned off or asleep.  Dependence upon third-party utilities to run the periodic maintenance scripts was significantly reduced since Tiger.  These utilities have limited or no functionality with Snow Leopard or Lion and should not be installed.
OS X automatically defragments files less than 20 MBs in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files there's little need for defragmenting the hard drive. As for virus protection there are few if any such animals affecting OS X. You can protect the computer easily using the freeware Open Source virus protection software ClamXAV. Personally I would avoid most commercial anti-virus software because of their potential for causing problems. For more about malware see Macintosh Virus Guide.
I would also recommend downloading a utility such as TinkerTool System, OnyX 2.4.3, or Cocktail 5.1.1 that you can use for periodic maintenance such as removing old log files and archives, clearing caches, etc.
For emergency repairs install the freeware utility Applejack.  If you cannot start up in OS X, you may be able to start in single-user mode from which you can run Applejack to do a whole set of repair and maintenance routines from the command line.  Note that AppleJack 1.5 is required for Leopard. AppleJack 1.6 is compatible with Snow Leopard. There is no confirmation that this version also works with Lion.
When you install any new system software or updates be sure to repair the hard drive and permissions beforehand.
Get an external Firewire drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
    Carbon Copy Cloner
    Data Backup
    Deja Vu
    SuperDuper!
    SyncTwoFolders
    Synk Pro
    Synk Standard
    Tri-Backup
Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQs on maintenance, optimization, virus protection, and backup and restore.
Additional suggestions will be found in Mac Maintenance Quick Assist.
Referenced software can be found at CNet Downloads or MacUpdate.
    Additional Hints
Be sure you have an adequate amount of RAM installed for the number of applications you run concurrently. Be sure you leave a minimum of 10% of the hard drive's capacity as free space.
Add more RAM. If your computer has less than 2 GBs of RAM and you are using OS X Leopard or later, then you can do with more RAM. Snow Leopard and Lion work much better with 4 GBs of RAM than their system minimums. The more concurrent applications you tend to use the more RAM you should have.
Always maintain at least 15 GBs or 10% of your hard drive's capacity as free space, whichever is greater. OS X is frequently accessing your hard drive, so providing adequate free space will keep things from slowing down.
Check for applications that may be hogging the CPU:
Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu.  Click twice on the CPU% column header to display in descending order.  If you find a process using a large amount of CPU time, then select the process and click on the Quit icon in the toolbar.  Click on the Force Quit button to kill the process.  See if that helps.  Be sure to note the name of the runaway process so you can track down the cause of the problem.
Often this problem occurs because of a corrupted cache or preferences file or an attempt to write to a corrupted log file.

  • AE CS4 on OSX 10.5 Very Slow, Makes System Unresponsive

This is very frustrating, our company has been fighting this problem since we upgraded.  I work for a major broadcaster which uses AE for all our motion graphics work.  Since upgrading to CS4 we've experienced a team wide decrease in productivity.  AE CS4 renders slower than CS3 and in some cases will completely lock up the computer when rendering, making it impossible to do any sort of simple multitasking.  Even switching to the Finder and moving around windows is very slow.  Let alone try to use Safari or type into a TextEdit document.  We've tried everything, but details first.
We're running on last-gen 8-core 3.2GHz Mac Pro's.  Each has 10GB of ram and 1TB of HD space (mostly empty).  NVidia GeForce 8800 GT video card.  Runing AE 9.0.2.42)
We realize that 10GB is not enough ram to use all 8 processors at full speed.  So AE is set to use multiprocessing with a max of 3 cores with 2GB minimum with 2 GB in reserve for other applications.  All the work we do is with HD footage.  All footage is delivered in Apple Prores.  Any comp of medium or greater complexity will completely slow down the system.  When comparing CS3 rendering time to CS4, CS4 seems about 30-40% slower. When rendering CS4 will also completely lock up the system, switching windows is a complete pain.  We've tried turing on and off OpenGL in AE, but no change.  We're tried every combination of settings we can think of.   Rendering without multiprocessing is even slower and still locks up the system. Also in Activity Monitor is will often show only limited CPU useage (see attached screen).  You can see I'm running multiple aeselflink instances, but each one is no where near 100 and the system is still unresponsive!
Outside of rendering CS4 also is much more unresponsive when just working (not rendering).  Moving clips around in the composition window and navigating the timeline are sometimes a chore, with lots of 1-2 second delays before taking the action.  Or slow screen updates.
Any ideas what is happening here?  If is something with the change from 32-bit to 64-bit.  Will more ram fix it or is there something else going on?  This is becoming a very frustrating situations where we have to completely restart the computer and make sure no other apps are running before even trying to render our anything.  CS3 did not seem to have these problems, even with multiprocessing turned on at it's default settings.  We like many of the new features in CS4 and are practically required to use it because we get a lot of projects from vendors, but it's proving very slow to work in.

I don't know how complex your comps are, but our are usually pretty complex.  Simple comps with just text and 1-2 layers of video usually go pretty quick, but as soon as you ramp up complexity it slows way down.  I somehow don't think that our graphics card is the problem.  Most of the plugins we use do not see any benefit from OpenGL and we don't use that many 3D layers.  In general we haven't seen a big boost in AE performance with OpenGL on or off.  All our footage sits on a super fast Terrablock system with at least 300-400mb/s sequential read speeds.  Then again it could be that AE just runs poorly on Macs.
Adolfo - we have done some quite extensive benchmarks with all our machines here.  Configuring both 10GB and 16GB versions (we have not tried higher memory yet).  We tested the same comp in both CS3 and CS$ with various multiprocessor settings.  Our test file's complexity was indicative of the kind of projects we do.  Around 30 layers, a mix of TGA sequences with alpha, QuickTimes with alpha (animation) and ProRes footage.  Many layers with ReelSmart Motion Blur.  A Knoll Light Factory lens flare.  A mix of layers with various blurs and color correction and some transfer modes.
As you can see CS3 was much, much quicker at rendering the project.  In some cases almost twice as fast as CS4.  Also, strangely CS3 ran better limited to 4 processors in both the 10GB and 16GB configurations.
