Keyboard language switch about once a month

Since I have Imac 27" I always had to deal with this problem! I have an Italian keyboard, and sometime it happen to find installed a US keyboard! I have each time to go to the keyboard panel and instal the It keyboard again and remove the us keyboard!
This is really getting boring now can anyone help me to resolve this issue once for all.
extra info: I have change I mac two time without reinstalling system but keeping the same backup disk so I guess I'm bringing this problem since few years now.

Unwanted keyboard language switch when Firefox/Thunderbird is selected

Here is a problem that I think I've had in the past, but I just can't recall how I resolved it, or find any references to it in the forum archives:
Recently I reconfigured the keyboard language input menu because I switched to a different keyboard; it now has U.S. Extended, Norwegian and a 3rd map that I've defined myself. I can mostly switch quite all right between these (and the one I've defined myself works, too), but I have one very annoying problem:
Whenever I select a Mozilla Firefox or Thunderbird window, the language setting switches to U.S. Extended (if a different one was selected.) That is, if I work in a different application with e.g. my custom map selected, then start Firefox, I notice that the flag icon changes and that I get the US layout. I can then switch back to a different one and work with the corresponding layout in Firefox. If, however, I raise another application's window, then go back to Firefox, I find that language is once again set to U.S. Extendended. The same thing happens with Thunderbird.
Any idea what is wrong?

I haven't read your code, but can make a guess at what's going wrong. Checkboxes do behave in a weird manner depending upon whether you have selected one or many.
Assuming this is the statement where you are generating the checkbox :
<input type="checkbox" name="checkBoxName" value="<%= someValue %>">
What you could do is read the checked checkBoxes in an array :
String[] values = request.getParameterValues("checkBoxName");
int sizeOfValues = values.length;
Then use the sizeOfValues to perform your delete action :
if (sizeOfValues==1)
     performDelete();
else
     for (int i=0; i<sizeOfValues(); i++)
          performDelete();
Hope this technique works.

Re1000 does not work once a month

Good afternoon. Recently bought a wi-fi amplifier RE1000. About once a month does not work. Indication lights. If you turn off and on, then again running to the next hovering. What could be the problem? Install the latest version of Firmware.

Resetting Router Once a Month

I have Verizon Fios and am having to reset my router about once a month or less! It is frustrating and madenning! My internal network still works but the internet connection is lost, it says there is no "coax" connection. I reset the router by holding in the reset button with the power off and when I let go and plug it back in it comes back up and works just fine until the next time. It is like Verizon resets something and my router says 'no way jose' and just sits there! I was out of town and it went down the first day, 3 days later I came home, reset the router and it worked just fine immediately! I talked to my neighbor and he is having to do the same thing!! I have had my router for a couple years now so I am thinking it is just an older one, my neighbor and I have the same one after getting Fios at the same time.

well, it says no coax. Have you tried unplugging and replugging back in the Coax, or is it a short enough run, that you can replace the cable?
The routers are also replaceable at the local Verizon Stores. you can see if you have one near by and try a new one. Just take your old one and it's an over the counter exchange.

WRT54G dies about once a day

I have a WRT54G V6 with 1.02.5 firmware. About once a day it stops
talking to the attached devices, both wireless and wired. They can't
ping it or connect via HTTP. The WRT54G still has power. This was
happening about once a month (tolerable) for some time. About a week
ago, it started happening about once a day, at highly variable times
of the day.
Any thoughts on a solution, other than buying a new router.

I also have this router, ver. 5 and I am having the same issues. I have a computer wired directly to the router, with 2 other desktops, and a laptop that access it wirelessly. One of the computers that I'm having the problem with is using a Linksys adapter. All 3 wireless computers have had problems, and recently the computer that is directly attached to the router has started having problems.
I tried changing the channel, no luck. I have not updated the firmware because after looking around, that doesn't seem to help the problem. It worked fine for 2 years prior. Here's the kicker that happened today. One of my computers could access the internet, while one of the others (the one with the linksys adapter) could not. My wife was steadily working on her laptop, while the desktop that I was working on showed no signal. I came down to the computer that is directly attached and looked at the DHCP list, and NOTHING is listed. Even the computer that is directly attached. Even as I type this, only 1 wireless computer is listed. My other 2 are not, although they are running, and currently have internet access.
Sometimes the signal is only lost for a minute or so, and sometimes I have to unplug it. Just to be clear, I'm not just losing my internet, I am losing my wireless signal all together. I'm sure its not an issue with walls or floors in the way because I have one of those computers less than 15 feet away in the same room as the router. I'm also pretty sure that its not an issue with other electronics, because I live in a rural area and my 2 neighbors are over 200 feet from me.
Here's another strange little tidbit regarding my connection. If I go to Facebook on one of the wireless computers, that seems to trigger a dropped connection. I don't think its possible, but I'll throw it out there for some of you smarter than me. Is it possible that a particular website, or type of website could trigger anything? I don't think it has anything to do with how much is transmitted, because I can log onto Netflix and watch a movie, and never have a problem.
I hope Linksys monitors these message boards and can come up with a fix for this one.

Regarding #1, your post says you have a beta version of Firefox 4. That may well be incorrect, but that is why the site says you do not have the latest version.
Losing graphics on the bookmarks toolbar and not having a working back button are not normal, but I'm not sure whether you want to troubleshoot Firefox 4, roll back to Firefox 3.6, or just move on.

It could be an accumulation of all sorts of bits of info and depending on the last time you cleared the system cache either manually or via a factory reset on that phone you might find a difference there after doing so with many other system caches.
Clearing the application cache removes temporary files and frees up memory - your personal settings or information remain intact.
Be sure you clear only the application cache and not the application data.
From the home screen, tap Apps.
Scroll to and tap Settings.
Tap More.
Tap Application manager.
Swipe left to view the All tab.
Scroll to and tap an application.
Tap Clear cache.
You've now cleared the application cache.

Keyboard layout switching not working

i use xfce4 and i created /etc/X11/xorg.conf

but it's not working.
xfce4 has a program called Keyboard in settings menu, i used it it gives the ability to add another language but it doesnt has a switching capability.

I don't use keyboard layout switch through xorg.conf because it stops to work sometimes(if i use setxkbmap for example).
So i am using setxkbmap in .xinitrc.
setxkbmap -model pc105 \
-layout "de,ru" \
-variant "basic,phonetic" \
-option -option "grp:sclk_toggle, grp_led:scroll, terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp, caps:none"
and "kbdd" for remembering layout for each window.
Change it to your needs or check the arch wiki about xorg.conf.d .

How to change the keyboard language by code

I'm building a user interface for my application, some of the fields are in arabic and others are in English, I want to change the keyboard language according to the fields the cursor in, I tried to send KeyEvent once the cursor entered the text field. Keyboard has toggle button(key) to switch input-mode between english and
native languge(korean). So I'd like to set input-mode per text-field when get focus for user convenient by programing code . But I can't find the toggle key code.
Is there any idea to do this?

WRT54GS stops connecting about once a week.

We have a WRT54GS here at work and it goes to 6 computers, of course it first goes into a Linksys switch for the last 2 computers. This router was new about 2 months back. We rarely use the wireless feature so that is not really a problem, however my boss will come out in the shop about once or twice a week or sometimes as long as two weeks and say he can't get on the internet.
My bosses computer and the main office computers are all plugged directly into the router. Two computers of lesser importance are on the switch. Usually I can just reboot the router and then it is fine. Sometimes I have to push the reset button and then reboot and fiddle around with it and it starts working. This has been happening ever since we bought this router. Any suggestions?

make sure that the router firmware is latest and change the MTU settings on the router to 1400...let me know whether this makes any difference..

Language switching on Robot?

Hi,
my Windows XP is German, so if i do:
Robot r = new Robot();
r.keyPress(KeyEvent.VK_SHIFT);
r.keyPress(KeyEvent.VK_2);
i get a ", because the Shift Action of 2 is ". If I am on an english OS, the robot should do a @ instead of the ". Is the AWT able to do this automatically or do I have to tell him, that he's on a English OS?
This Questions seems to be really stupid, but i have no possibility to check this on an English OS :-(

I once looked for a way to switch the keyboard language with Java - but unsuccessfully. I guess the only way to do this is to launch a system command (JNI).
Or you have to map keys yourself according to the system properties user.country and user.language.
In any case, setting the default locale will not change your keyboard language.
If you decide and manage to switch the keyboard language, please let me know.

Language switching shortcut is really slow

Hi!
I'm using Cyrillic and Canadian English languages on my MacBook Pro. I set up a shortcut (Command+Space) to switch between them (Spotlight shortcut is disabled). The problem is that switching is painfully slow. When I hit the shortcut it takes about 10 seconds for the flag to change. The same happens when I move around application windows. I'm using separate input methods for all the documents. Taking into account the fact, that I do not really understand what is a "document" here, the language switching turns into total nightmare when I do not know which language I currently have in any particular window. I've been using OSX for about 4 years now and this is the only issue which drives me nuts royally. Does anyone else experience this and what is the solution?

I've never heard of the slowness issue, but you can always tell what keyboard layout is active via the "flag" at the top right of the Finder. If you don't have this, check the box for "show input menu in Finder" in system prefs/international/input menu.

This new version of FireFox is making me nutz! It is SUCKING 100% CPU time almost constantly. I could just pull my hair out. I wpdated once a month or so ag

I tried to add this in the topic already open but it kept sending me through the unending rabbit holes!
My question is: How do I figure out what release I was on, get rid of this one and got back to a functional firefox that moves in realtime. I already did all the reset and etc.... I just want to go back to the speed I had. This halting , hanging up misery of a browzer is Sad. I have had firefox for years and always recommended it ..... BUT NOT ANY MORE. I agree with the other poster ... there should be a rollback feature. Peoples time has value and right now FireFox is sucking the value down a rabbit hole.

Yes that is me yelling - and it happened in SSSSSSSSSSSSS LLLLLLLLL OOOOOOOO WWWWWWWWWW Motion. I have run all the security scans and cleanups ---this needs a fix ASAP!!! PS: The hang ups and slowness is EVERYWHERE I go. I only get speed doing programs not connected to ON LINE.

New feature request: Having the possibility to use different keyboard language on multiple monitors.

I would love to see a new feature to allow the use of different keyboard language on multiple monitors with the same desktop mac.
Ex.: On dual monitor desktop, use english keyboard on the left screen and french keyboard on the right screen.
So I wouldn't have to switch keyboard language all the time!
