Keyboard lock and password request

Hi,
Can anyone please help me with the following:
When taking a call my key pad is not locking and I keep putting people on hold/mute etc when talking to them. Also voice mail keeps requesting I set up voice mail when I have already done so.
Cheers
Jon

Hi,
Keypad, When you put the phone to your ear, the proximity sensor detects you and kills the screen so you don't hit any keys while talking. It sounds like this is not happening in your case. When you pull the phone away from your face, do you see the screen light up or does it appear that it is already lit?
Is the phone in a cover? This may be effecting the sensor.
Reset the phone. Hold Home and Sleep buttons till you see the Apple logo and see if that resolves the issue.
If it still is not working you could try Restoring the phone, this will enable the OS to be reloaded onto the phone incase there is an issue preventing the sensor from working correctly.
Finally if that doesn't resolve it there may be a hardware issue with the sensor and the phone needs to be checked by Apple.
Voicemail, this is a carrier controlled feature. You could try calling your own voicemail and go into the setup area to make sure that it is set up correctly or you could call your carrier and have them check that the voicemail is set up correctly.
Hope this helps

  • Need remote lock and password reset

This question is in regards to this thread:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/499f83d0-36f8-4f29-a4ce-e32f76632c90/intunesccm-mobile-application-management?forum=microsoftintuneprod
-We currently have ConfigMgr 2012 R2 and want to start using Intune to support company owned iOS devices.
-We must have the ability to perform remote lock and password reset on our iOS devices.
-According to this link  https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn600286.aspx this is not possible with ConfigMgr integration.  So I assume this means I
should NOT integrate Intune with our ConfigMgr right now, correct?  And according to the response referenced above, Microsoft plans on erasing this disparity in the future, so I guess I should just wait until then and use Intune standalone until
then? correct? But at some point it should be safe to do so, correct?
While I am not in this position, it appears that when you are setting up Intune with ConfigMgr you get to a point of no return where you "Set the Mobile Device Management Authority" and the prompt says this is permanent.  For those that
have integrated ConfigMgr, does that mean they are stuck and have no option to change to using Intune only to get these features?
I setup ADFS/WAProxy for SSO for Intune.  I can still use that without ConfigMgr integration right?
On a different note, is the on-premises connector for Exchange a requirement for Intune?  I have seen several tutorial for installing Intune that do not mention this step.
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/eb9618d2-dc90-48be-b921-8044b7e693ac#bkmk_EX_OP

    Hi,
I guess the first question is really up to your company requirements and how long you can wait. as there are now communicated time of release of that feature it is hard to say if it is worth it.
Exchange connector in SCCM 2012, no, Exchnage on premise connector for Conditional Access in Intune, if you want to use that feature yes you need it but you can use Intune without it.
Yes, you can use ADFS/WAP for Intune standalone as well.

  • Bank recognizes user id but not the password(cap lock, num lock and password carefully checked)

When I try to log on to my bank, the bank recognizes the user id but the password the bank sees is not correct. I went through the process with a tech at the bank watching at their end. (cap lock, num lock and password carefully checked) When I switched to Chrome browser no problem logging on. This just started a few days ago. Any ideas?

Today I tried Firefox again and the bank login worked. I only had trouble with my bank recognizing the password (that I very carefully typed). Other sites such as Hotmail had no trouble recognizing my password. I worked with the bank tech guy and tried to log on with him watching at his end. I even reset the password a couple of times. What he saw was the correct user name but incorrect password. He claimed no knowledge of any such issues with the bank software. When I switched to Chrome browser I had no trouble logging in.
The problem is solved for now.
    But what happened?

I need a way to lock and unlock the keyboard.  I have searched a number of websites for an answer to my dilema and it seems several methods are mentioned but none work for me.  I need to lock the keyboard when phone is in my pocket.  Many thanks to anyone who can help.

Well, according to your device manual, this is the procedure:
    Lock the keyboard
If you do not set a BlackBerry® device password, you can lock your keyboard to avoid making calls and pressing keys accidentally.
On the Home screen or in the application list, click Keyboard Lock.
To unlock the keyboard, press the asterisk (*) key and the Send key.

  • Keyboard locked and frozen

    hi.
since i installed arch64 on my new machine,  my keyboard randomly froze and i can't type anything with it anymore. I had everytime to log out from X. and then i can use it again.
when it is locked even typing a key like capslock or numlock do not change the led on the keyboard
so though i first thought it was an hardware problem with the usb dell keyboard, i think now it has to do with kde or X.
    anyone ?
    i have changed the line
    Option "XkbModel"    "dell"
    in my xorg.conf to:
    Option "XkbModel"    "pc105"
but i still got that problem.
it seems to happen when i want to type too fast and type 2 or 3 keys at the same time with a ctrl or alt or altgr or win key. don't know

    Am using:
    64-bit AMD
32-bit Arch kernel and other packages
    nVidia
    xorg
    kde
On-board video is: nVidia Corporation: GeForce 6100 nForce 405
All software (kernel, drivers, etc.) are up to date.  Yet, another lockup happened about 30 minutes ago.
When the keyboard locks up, it feels like it's locked up, but has not.  If I hold down any character long enough, it comes through.  Same goes for modifier keys.   So, to do Shift-A, have to hold down the Shift key for about two seconds, then hold down the A key for two seconds.  Typing a password is excruciating -- OK, really, impossible.
Since the mouse consistently works, I can kill applications and then K->Log Out...->End Session OR start a new session.  When the X login appears, all is well.
If I start a new session, the keyboard works just fine in the new session.  If I return to the original session (Ctrl-Alt-F7), the keyboard is still locked up in that session.  Go figure.
Seems like all reports about this mention keyboard locking up.  Can anyone try this next time?  Hold a key down and see if in a few seconds it comes through.  Would be interesting to see how many cases there re of complete lock up vs just a super slow keyboard response.  (And who knows.  This info. might even help someone find the root cause.)
EDIT: To try to fix this problem have tried various mouse and keyboard brands.  Have tried unplugging and plugging back in the keyboard and mouse several times (right after a lock up).  Have also tried to avoid various applications -- just in case it's related to user space interaction (getting desperate, I guess).  The problem persists.  It's very random, too.

  • Option to call one phone number when iPhone is locked and password protected

    Dear Sir or Madam,
I have an idea which should be added to your iOS for iPhones. I think that many users would appreciate that and it could help to return a lot of lost iPhones to their owners. Even though I think that it could be used by emergency to contact the relatives in case something happen to the owner. The idea is to allow owner to define one or two numbers which could be called from the iPhone when it is locked and protected by password. Same option as it is for emergency nowadays.
    Please try to consider it.
    Thank you,
    Yours sincerely,
    Kamil Olah

  • Locking and passwording

how would you lock a and password a single folder.
i looked at the serccrity file lock in prefences and it just says that it will lock the folders to everyone who isnt on your user account. i only have4 one account i only want one account i just want to password a sinle file . how would i do this?

    Hi Make believe,
You can make encrypted disk images, but not encrypt individual files. If you just have one file, just make an encrypted disk image that is about 10Mb and store the file in there.
Instructions are available here - http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=DiskUtility/10.5/en/duh3.html

  • IMac with lock and password!

I try to reset my administrator password because i couldn't remember the one I set up, then I follow the apple support steps to set it up, after I was done I restart my computer just like they suggested and now I have a freaking lock with password! I try few other steps and nothing is working, this is a refurbish iMac so no cd was enclosed in the box.  I believe the password was from the previews owner because all the codes I would normally use doesn't work..... I need to solve this problem from home the apple store is 2 hours away! I purchase this iMac thru the apple.com so you guys can see it's my property not stolen.

You need to reinstall OS X:
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Mountain Lion or Mavericks
OS X Mavericks- Reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Reinstall OS X
OS X Lion- Reinstall Mac OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
This assumes you had Lion or later installed. If the computer has Snow Leopard or earlier, then you will need the installer discs that should have come with the computer:
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

  • Username and password request every 2-3 minutes wh...

    Hello.
I am a BT broadband customer and recently I learnt that I have free access to BTFon or BT Openzone when I am away from home. That is really useful to me as I spent some days away from home due to work. Unfortunately I am usually in remote areas where BTFon and BT openzone signals can be weak and thus using the internet gets very problematic, especially with my computer not keeping my BTbroadband username and password. Is there a way to solve this? Why do I need to re-enter my details everytime the connection fails? I am using a MAC laptop. Thank you in advance for your help and advice.

  • Blackberry 9300 stolen dated 28/11/2011 from India Delhi.........Phone was locked and password protected

    l
    Hello!
sir my blackberry is stolen it was very much locked with the password code how it can be located.
can any one help to reply. We have currently blocked the tel number.
Please help to locate the phone..........
    Thanks,
    Awaiting reply

If the person enters the wrong password 10 times what will happen is that the phone will wipe itself and all of you personal data on it will be removed and cleared from your phone, meaning that at the very least, the person who stole your phone won't be able to access your data on it.
Hopefully if your name and address were on it, you'll get it back, but that obviously depends on the guy who has it now.
Now then, if your phone was purchased from your carrier, they should have the IMEI, so they will hopefully blacklist your phone. And if they do that, even if the person who stole the phone gets access to it after it's been wiped, they won't be able to actually use the phone to make calls and send text messages, so it will basically be a useless device to them or anyone else.
If you want to thank someone for their comment, do so by clicking the Thumbs Up icon.
If your issue is resolved, don't forget to click the Solution button on the resolution!

  • Slow iTunes Store and Password request

Is there something wrong with the iTunes Store at the moment. One minute it loads when I click links then it stops loading and stalls at "Accessing iTunes Store ... ". Then it requests my password.
If I try access my account from within iTunes it requests my password but then the account does not load. If I click on it a second time it does load.
I have tried deauthorising and reauthorising. I have also tried Resetting Warnings in my account in the iTunes store.
    What's up?

I'm having the same issue it tries to connect to the iTunes store and just sits there forever. Anyone else seeing the same thing? Trying to figure out if it is just me.

  • Ipad locked and password forgotten

My iPad is blocked and I lost password. How to restore it because it does not appear in iTunes ?

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
You may have to put your iPad in Recovery Mode
