Keyboard/Mouse latency o nthe new macbook?

Hey All,
I just got a new MacBook (the 2.0GHz model) yesterday(First time in my life i'm using a mac), and it seems to have a latency with the keyboard and mouse, its not feeling responsive like my windows at all.
I went to the mouse and keyboard preferences and modified them, but still its not responsive at all.
Also, i feel safari is heavy for this laptop (when i type on the URL it seems to be heavy).
I didn't change anything its a brand new laptop (fully updated) /w default settings.

Welcome to the Forum!
I've seen nothing of the sort with this new Al MB nor my original 2006 model. I still use a Gateway laptop on occasion and a Dell desktop regularly -- and responsiveness seems the same. I suggest having an Apple Store look at it. Could be defective. It almost sounds like some background process is running -- but that seems unlikely on a new machine unless someone "helped" you set it up.
Not sure what you mean by Safari being "heavy". I suggest downloading Firefox3 for OS X and using that; I find it superior in most respects to Safari.

  • Best external keyboard & mouse to use with a macbook pro running using wind

I have been looking at the mstand to use my macbook pro on a desk, & learned it needs an external keyboard & mouse. Is there these items that will work without glitches in both mac os & windows? I will be using mac os as well as windows. I would also like to keep the cost down for the keyboard & mouse.

I have a better solution .. look at moshi zephyr
I am currently using that with a magic mouse and things just couldn't be better

  • Magic mouse doesnt work with new macbook air

    Hey guys,
Just bought the magic mouse and it pairs just fine to my new 13" macbook air. But it only moves around and clicks and nothing else. Does not scroll or do any multitouch functions. I have checked all software is up to date and all settings are correct.
    Thanks in advance.

I was having the same issues as Cawlin and called up AppleCare. They suggested resetting the PRAM, and then a SMC reset. That didn't work, so they had me do a re-install of the OS and system updates. None of that worked, and then it suddenly occurred to me that I had installed USB Overdrive a little while back and turns out that it was the culprit. A quick uninstall and everything's back to normal. The mouse preference panel is now displaying the correct options for the magic mouse. So if you have any 3rd party software for a mouse or keyboard installed, I would suggest uninstalling or disabling it and see if that does the trick.

  • Mouse sensitivity problem with new macbook

I recently switched from windows and now i tried connecting my logitech wireless mouse to my macbook. I tried downloading the firmware and setting the mouse sensitivity to max from there. And also using the mac preferences and set the sensitivity to max as well form there but it still feels VERY slow. Does anyone know if theres anything I can do to get even higher sensivity ? I need it for gaming if your wondering why I use such high sensivity. ( oh yea i tried in-game settings too it didnt help )

I'm guessing that it's an IR Wireless mouse and the transmitter is USB in the left side of you MacBook and you're right handed using the mouse on the right side of your MacBook......
You probably need to set up a clear shot between the transmitter and the reciever. Does the transmitter have a pivot that can be pivoted up (skyward) ? You may need to adjust where you locate the mouse while in use in relationship to the transmitter.
    Hope it helps your game.

  • Brand new Macbook Pro not pairing with Apple Keyboard and mouse!

Hi all, I have a brand new Macbook Pro and an older wireless Apple Keyboard and Mouse (that were being previously used with my imac G5).
Now I want to use these for this macbook. I am finding that they are being recognised but not pairing up?
Do you need to stop the previous pairing with the imac before they will pair with the Macbook?
Or do I need to update specific software? (I would have thought it has all the necessary updates already installed).
    I am running Snow leopard.
I have brand new batteries in the keyboard and mouse.
I really appreciate any helpful advice. Sorry if the answer is obvious!
    Thanks

Hi there, i had a problem pairing an Apple wireless keyboard with my MacBook pro but managed to solve it.
The default passkey option in Bluetooth setup assistant is 'automatic' which will (if the MacBook can 'see' the keyboard in the first instance) then say something like 'your device may prompt you to enter the following passcode 1234 5678'
Obviously the keyboard doesn't provide any feedback - I went ahead and typed the number and hit the return key a number of times - the MacBook then displayed a 'pairing failed - you may have entered the incorrect passkey' message.
What i was doing wrong was keying only numbers - when i keyed 1234[SPACE]5678 + RETURN pairing worked.
I had thought the 'gap' in the passcode was to make it easier to read, not that it implied a space in the passcode.
    Hope that helps.

  • External keyboard, optical mouse with new MacBook Pro?

I have just ordered a new MacBook Pro and am wondering if I can connect the keyboard and Logitech mouse from my old eMac? Or do I need to order a newer keyboad.
Extended typing sessions on a laptop are not my favorite thing.
    Thanks.

    Sure, why not.

  • Connecting Logitech LX710  keyboard & mouse to a MacBook

    Hi,
I'm new in the Mac scene and just ordered today my first MacBook :]
I was wondering if it is possible to connect my Logitech Cordless Desktop LX710 mouse and keyboard set to the MacBook?
Logitech's web site show compatibility with Windows XP / Vista, but does not say anything about Mac.
Is the MacBook compatible only with keyboard & mouse sets designed for Mac? or any mouse and keyboard set will basically work?
    Regards,
    Ken Vinner

I think it may work. In my case, I'm running a Logitech S510 which is a windows combo keyboard and mouse. I plugged in the receiver and they both worked.
I'm running a G4 Powerbook w/Tiger without any Logitech Control Center software.

  • White A1016 wireless keyboard not pairing with new MacBook Pro

I still have (and love) the original white bluetooth Mac keyboard (model A1016, with numeric keypad and function keys). It won't pair to my new MacBook Pro. It's discoverable, appears in the list, I can select it and try to pair. Then it sits with the spinning wheel for some time before giving up.
Oddly, if I press "return" during the spinning, it (very) briefly displays the passcode, but of course by then it's too late, and fails saying that I got the passcode wrong!
This appears to be a Bluetooth system preference problem - is anyone else seeing this?
This Apple technote suggests that this keyboard should work with iOS, whereas the original aluminium one doesn't (although it's not entirely clear)... if it works with iOS, I can't see why it won't work with OS X 10.8.4!

My old Bluetooth Mighty Mouse won't work with my newer MBP running Mountain Lion, either. I suspect that the keyboard is incompatible with your new machine/OS X 10.8.x.

  • New MacBook keyboard freezing.

I just bought my macbook on Thursday (so it is the NEW macbook and has Leopard on it). Anyway, on Friday when I was writing a paper I noticed that the keyboard freezes. It will be working fine and then all of the sudden the keys won't work anymore, but my mouse still moves fine. Most of the time if I put the computer to sleep and wait a minute to use it, the problem clears up.
Has anyone else had this problem? This is my first mac, so I'm really a little lost anyway. Its probably something as stupid as me hitting the wrong key and not realizing it, but I'd appreciate some advice.

Lauraford, you seem to be having a similar problem to many other people here. Check out this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5786564

    LizMaddock,
you can reset the input source to Spanish by selecting the Keyboard pane of System Preferences, selecting the Input Sources tab, and pressing the “+” button in the lower-left corner to select one of the Spanish input sources. The “Spanish – ISO” input source is most similar to the physical Spanish keyboard layout.

  • How can i connect a Wireless Keyboard and a Trust mouse with a brand new Mac mini?

How can i connect a Wireless Keyboard and a Trust mouse to a brand new Mac mini?

Go to the Bluetooth icon on the menu bar and select "Set Up Bluetooth Device". Follow the wizard.
Alternatively, if you haven't yet unboxed and setup the Mini, you can pair the keyboard to the Mini (and possibly the mouse). However, I would set up with a USB keyboard and mouse and pair the Bluetooth devices afterwards.

  • After i have downloaded an album from iCloud to my new macbook pro. Itunes will only play one song at a time. If i hit the fast forward or back button will not do anything. I have to use the mouse to hit the next tidal in the album then hit play for it

after i have downloaded an album from iCloud to my new macbook pro. Itunes will only play one song at a time. If i hit the fast forward or back button will not do anything. I have to use the mouse to hit the next tidal in the album then hit play for it to play the next song. Or put it in the UP NEXT.

First, make sure these items have checkmarks next to their names in iTunes. Continuous playback only works on checked items. Itunes will play all checked items in a list whether or not they're from the same album.
If you see that nothing in your library is checked and you want to check everything, hold down Ctrl while checking an item. This checks everything.
Next, fixing the "1 of 1" problem is easily. Select all the tracks that make up the book/album. Let's say there are 15. Press Ctrl-I. Doublecheck that the album box is filled in with the name of the book, and if not, type it there. Enter "15" in the box for the total number of tracks. Click OK. Now all the items should be "1 of 15," "2 of 15," and so on.

  • New Mac mini won't see old Apple Keyboard/Mouse

Just got a brand new macmini, got my apple display plugged into it and working, turned it on. It recognized my apple wireless mouse for a couple clicks, then when I got the screen to enter in the serial number, it wouldn't recognize my keyboard. And now it doesn't recognize the mouse either.
I brought home a Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo from work and was able to setup the server that way, but it still won't recognize my Apple brand keyboard/mouse that worked fine on my old PowerBook. I've rebooted several times.
    Any ideas?

    Hello mc:
The devices, if paired with another system, need to be deleted from the Bluetooth preferences (you need to disconnect them in the BT preference pane and then delete them). Then a restart should begin the connect/pair sequence.
BT devices may only paired with one system at a time.

  • Minor flaw in brand new MacBook keyboard area

The surface material surrounding the keyboard (the area on which you place your hands) has a minor flaw on the left side near the bottom of the screen. It is slightly separated from the body. Can this be repaired/glued at an Apple store? I'd hate to have to ship it back for this. Thanks.

    HI,
Since this is a brand new MacBook, take it your nearest Apple store ASAP and tell them you want it repaired or if necessary, replaced. I think you have 14 days from purchase to replace the laptop if it comes to that.

  • Keyboard cover compatible between old MacBook & new MacBook Pro?

    Hello all,
I have a silicone keyboard cover for my first generation white MacBook. Will it fit the new chicklet style keys on the new MacBook Pro?
    Thanks!
    Steven

I second that. Just tried my friend's iSkin keyboard cover for the previous generation MacBook and it fit perfectly on my new MacBook Pro.
Actually, I just went over to iSkin's website and they also say that their MacBook skins fit the new MacBook and MacBook Pro.
