Keyboard not working properly

Hi there,
I have problem with my keyboard since yesterday.
For certain letters or numbers by pressing them it types several characters. I didnt spil liquid on it and i cleanead it from dust and crumbs. Letters are not in the same area on keyboard.
I tried to download the original notebook keyboard drivers but for my lap it couldnt find it so i guess i already have them.
My laptop version is HP Pavilion 15-e081sa Notebook PC.
So, if anyone have idea how to solve it, i would be very grateful.

Hi,
While this could be a hardware issue, it's always worth trying the following.
Open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager, expand Keyboards, right click the entry 'Standard PS/2 Keyboard' and select Uninstall.
Shutdown the notebook.
Then unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu. Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter. Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.

Aluminum Wireless Keyboard not working properly after Firmware update 1.1

Hi,
Well, as the subject says, my keyboard is not working properly after I updated the firmware. The problem is that several keys (delete, down arrow, brackets and apostrophe) stopped working right after I installed the update. I never dropped it or hit it. And I did not stop or interrupt or did anything during the install. I take very good care of it.
I have already tried toubleshooting with the support page, restarting the iMac, taking off the batteries, setting it up with bluetooth again, going back a week with time machine and to reinstall the firmware. So, if you have something new for me to try, I will really apreciate it.

I have 24" iMac with the Apple wireless M&KB - I know this is basic but have you tried a fresh set of batteries? My KB will refuse to establish connection when batteries are on the weak side the firmware update may just be a co incidents. If your wireless mouse is working OK then I would guess the blue tooth is functioning.
Not sure about the 10.49 download - are your other file downloads completing properly? Are there any error messages?

Apple keyboard not working properly

I have had owned this wireless keyboard for over a year now. It has been working fine up into like 3 days ago when all of a sudden certain keys where not working properly. I disconnected the keyboard and tried pairing but it is not allowing for the pairing to go through. I also tried it on my ipad same keys where not working properly. Nothing was spilt on it. It just stop working right any suggestions

Try resetting the iPad's network. Go to Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings. You will probably need to re-pair Bluetooth with your keyboard and reconnect your WiFi.
If that doesn't help, try resetting the iPad. Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow. The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes. Resetting doesn't hurt anything, and sometimes corrects mysterious problems.

Internal Keyboard Not Working Properly Macbook 7,1

Hi there, I have a macbook which I purchased on sale early 2011, version 7,1.
I was using it today and many applications opened and the machine froze, so I turned of the machine. On turning it back on it came on in safe mode and I was unable to use the keyboard properly, in the sense that everytime I pushed a key say an "R", a N would come up or even a number. the function keys stopped working also. The "mouse" pad on the computer worked fine. If I push buttons on it now, they do absolutely nothing but the tracking mouse works fine.
I rebooted it, but no difference. I have inserted a USB keyboard, and that works fine.
I have:
1. Tryed rebooting PRAM and SMC
2. Followed troubleshooting on the Mac website for keyboard problems
3. Installed Mac Mountain Lion and cleaned the hard drive and rebooted it with the new Mac Mountain Lion.
4. Ensured sound and the mouse pad are not turned on.
Again, the internal keyboard is not working properly.
I am unsure what to do. I have not spiled anything on the keypad and there has been no trauma.
Does anyone have any ideas? I am writing this using a Mac external USB keyboard.
I am thinking it might just be worth buying another Mac, but I have only had this for 21 months.
Any help would be apreciated.

Additionally to no sound available, I could only type capital letters. When I opened my MacBook Pro late 2008, I found the small cable loose, marked by the red arrow. Opened the safety mechanisem, inserted it again, closed the stirrup again, restart - everything fine again! :-))
Hope it helps somebody else - I lost hours troubleshooting the software...

Keyboard not working properly since ios 8

WWhen I try to share links from other apps I get so many problem. If I try to share a link via sms the screen is sitting out of view to the right and if I try to send via email I get no keyboard at all Making it impossible to manually add an email or subject field. On many apps the keyboard rotates to landscape mode while the type area is normal despite the phone being perfectly vertical.
also videos on facebook will not play at all but youtube works perfect apart from the keyboard issues.
YOutube search arch box is always hid under the clock, battery and network status bar at the top of screen but this could be an issue for youtube to resolve. My iphone 5 is just generally slower and often freezes and crashes. I'm not expecting support on these issues in just posting to let Apple know and to vent my frustrations. In events like this apple should make the old version available for download as a normal update until these issues are resolved. It's so hard to believe that someone as big as Apple can get it so wrong.

(A) Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
(B) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

Why does my mac keyboard not work properly and is to do with the extra RAM?

Like someone else who has posted on this forum I have a problem with my Apple Pro Keyboard (usb, white, english) The keyboard has developed a fault which has resulted in the tab, caps lock and some other keys near them refusing to work. The caps lock light illuminates at startup but thats about it.
I've run various checks, reset my logic board, unplugged all the cables I can and still nothing. I recently installed two 512mb memory things boosting the machine's memory to 1.5gb. I have since done a full zero install (which was after the fault occured) but the problem persisted.
Is the memory the cause of this issue or is it time to get a new keyboard? I tried to run the apple hardware cd that came with the machine but it refuses to show up on the desktop and I cannot boot from it.
Any help would be very VERY much appreciated.
Also...is there any way of contacting apple with this? The contact us section pretty much just points back to the support site which doesnt have a solution.

nope that doesnt seem to be it. The caps lock light comes on at startup..so it seems it has the capability to work.
the keys which dont work seem to be:
caps
tab
escape
the squiggly thing next to left shift
and the key next to one

Keyboard not working, properly the rght arrow key gves me num8i and home key gves me ]ii

my keyboard layout has messed up. On pressing the right nav key, num 8 is displayed. home key gives ] , delete gives },
letter i is displayed after the letter pressed after it... e.g. if i type word 'right' it gives me rghti.
please provide some soultion. i have tried changing the layout, inout mehtod etc. nothing is working.
p.s: writing this from my other logitech wireless keyboard.

Why is the intelligent keyboard not working properly

I cannot use formulae or perform other functions in numbers on my ipad. The correct keyboard is not opening up when double tapping any cell?

Not quite sure what you mean by "correct Keyboard". Do you mean the correct functional selection for the cell (Number, Date/Time, Text, formula), or somethign else? I beleive the default is nor number, but it should shift to a different one depending on the current format of a cell.

Macbook pro keYboard not working properlY

Hello,
I suspect mY kids split a drink over mY macbook pro. MY keyboard has several issues:
-When I type lower case Y, I onlY get uppercase Y.
-When pressing the spacebar I get a space but its followed bY a closed square bracket.
-When pressing enter the function works but the forward slash character is displaYed.
Does this mean I need to replace the keYboard, if so how can I find the part number for the keyboard.

Try an external keyboard to verify that the internal one is damaged.
If it needs to be replaced, take it to an Apple store or service facility.

HELP PLZ!! KEYBOARD NOT WORKING PROPERLY

Hello everyone! I really reaallly need help in this. The following keys on my keyboard arent typing the correct letter/number or typing something additional with what it's supposed to like: key for 4 is typing v, for ? its typing this ?_ for / its typing this /- 6, right shift key, ALT or F4 aren't working at all and spacebar instead of space is typing this ; so;this;is;how;I;type.Also;Up;arrow;will;move;up;while;also;giving;a;U,;down;arrow;will;give;I,;right;arrow;will;give;O;as;well. And yes nothing spilled on the keyboard, I have cleaned it several times. Shook it a little so there's nothing under the keys. I have tried to update the driver and it says up to date. I have Satellite L735-128 model, Windows 7 64bit. This laptop has been the best! Everything runs so smoothly. But this keyboard problem has really distressed me. I am a design student and have to use CAD and other softwares with the exams coming next month. And onscreen keyboard really makes typing slow. Any help will be deeply appreciated!

Satellite L750 keyboard not working properly

I bought my laptop in January 2012. About a month ago the Tab key stopped working as did several of the letter keys. Every time I use the CTRL key it affects the zoom so I have to reset.
I have plugged in an external keyboard but even it is having problems. When I use the Shift key when typing in some internet sites I am closed out of the site. Right now I am typing this in Notepad and I am going to copy it into the website forum because every time I try to use the shift key to type a capital letter I am booted out of the site. Very frustrating.
Does anybody else suffer from these problems? And, I would have thought that the keyboard should last longer than 13 months. Would my laptop still be under warranty for this problem?

If you have the same problems using the external USB keyboard then I have to say that probably this issue isnt related to faulty keyboard.
Did you check if this happens after the system has been recovered?
I would recommend testing the notebook with factory settings.
If the problem would still persist, ask the Toshiba authorized service point for hardware check. In worst case it might be an motherboard problem

New aluminum bluetooth keyboard not working properly

Got the new aluminum keyboard and paired it with my MacBook Pro and everything went swimmingly. Love the key feel and the compact size. Updated the software to 1.2 and now I get the following behavior:
- The keyboard pairs up fine, and the battery level shows up
- The tab, arrow keys, delete, and tab all work fine
- No other keys work
I've tried restarting the MacBook Pro, and that solves the problem for a couple of minutes, but then the keys become non-functional again. Anybody have any idea what might be happening?

It appears that the problem was that I had Mouse Keys turned on in the Universal Access preferences. Turning that off allows me to use all keys now. Odd, as I've never made any changes to that preference pane. If the default is to have that turned on, perhaps Apple should make it clear that it must be turned off.
