Keyboard on xperia arc

Today my keyboard layout/style changed for some reason. It now has a choice of japanese/chinese/Aa/123 at the bottom left, the predictive words appear over 2 lines and make no sense, the emoticons have disappeared and the whole layout is different. I have gone into the keyboard settings and for some reason it comes up with International/Chinese/Japanese. I select International and it changes nothing. Help please!

Xperia arc s adb not working after upgrade to ICS

Hi,
I have used my Xperia arc s for android development (using eclipse) for a long time without any problems. Then I decided to upgrade my arc to ICS (4.0.4). I installed PC Companion and upgraded with the official software from sony. After the upgrade I can not connect to my arc from eclipse anymore. The device manager in Windows Vista shows a warning on "Sony Ericsson sa0102 ADB Interface Driver" and "Device status: This device cannot start. (Code 10)". This is shown in the device manager before I even connect my arc using USB cable.
I think the problem occured either when I installed PC Companion, or when I upgraded the phone. I have tried to uninstall PC Companion and reinstall the adb device driver with no luck.

Since I'm not fully into these kind of issues I'd recommend you to check over at the developer site to be able to get hold of more info.

Custom Phone theme Xperia arc S?

Is there a way to change the theme of Xperia Arc S running on ICS without using a custom launcher?

1.)long press the homescreen > themes > select the theme you want.
2.) root , void your warranty , change system files and you can set any theme you want.
3.) download a custom launcher.
only 3 options.

Xperia arc S will not get Jelly Beans

As officially stated on Facebook, Xperia arc S and mini pro will not get Jelly beans update.

As a conclusion of this, Jelly Beans will not be rolled out to any 2011 phone, as the arc S is the last and top model of the 2011 line.
One of the best things in this facebook post is the proposal to buy a new phone...
This proved again to be a lie of Sony, stating that they will support and update phones for at least 18 months.

no system update on my xperia arc s, my current version is android 2.3, how can i upgrade to android 4.0?

Xperia Arc S wifi problems

After upgradeing to Android 4.0 i cant connect to my WI-FI (WPA2-PSK). I can see my network, the phones states it gets an IP address and then just right after it goes into somekind of a loop : approves my logon, gets the IP ... then get throwed off and starting all over again. Before trying to logon to the network, it states that the signal is strong, but when in the so called loop, the phone suddenly claims that the signal is bad ?!?!
- Before the upgrade to Android 4.0, i had no problem whatsoever connecting to my WIFI.
- Our peripherals in our household, including my wifes XPeria Arc S, which not have been upgradded, hav no problems connecting to our WIFI.
- I have done a "reset to factory setting" without any luck
- Also rebooted my Router, which has the latest firmware (Hawking HWR-54)
Any ideas??

Can't Updating ICS on Xperia Arc S

I'm looking for update my Xperia ArcS.
I follow the instruction but after a few minutes to upload ICS on my PC, this message is send:
"Error
can not install or start the components update the phone software"
I don't find any other answer only http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/ give me some information but they don't perform.

Xperia Arc Bridge for Mac not detecting

I am using a Xperia Arc (LT15i) android version 2.3.4. I haven't updated this phone in ages and it is build number 4.0.2.A.0.62.
I'm using Sony Bridge for Mac 3.2(3202).
I have been trying to update my phone. Unfortunately, Bridge for Mac doesn't detect that I have a device connected (using MTP mode) in order to update it. The program detects that I have a phone connected when I connect in MSC mode. The USB is good. I have tried turning it on and off and reconnecting and restarting the program.
Any tips?

I apologize for the delay in an answer. Do you get any error messages when trying to connect the phone in MTP mode or does nothing happen at all?
If you do get error messages could you please provide me with error logs as it's difficult to know what your problem is without more information. Otherwise, I would just suggest trying to reinstall Bridge as well as trying a different USB-cable (even though you say it's working).
Here's how to get error logs out of Bridge:
1. In BfM, hold the "alt" key down while selecting the "Phone" menu. Select "Clear logs" to remove all old logs and get a clean start
2. Reproduce the problem you're having, whether it's connecting the phone, importing photos, doing backup...
3. In BfM, hold the "alt" key down while selecting the "Phone" menu. Select "Export logs"
4. On the computers desktop there should now be a file named "SonyBridgeForMacLogs_[date].zip
5. PM that file to me or post the contents here

Hi, It's either used automatically when you for instance open an attachement with a word/excel/powerpoint document or you need to start
the application, select where you want to find the documents (phone/memcard...) and open a suitable document. Then you have options
to edit, view and so on when clicking on the right setting button.

I got download error (502) message when i tried to download firefox for mobile . i use xperia arc. thanks

i tried to download twice but get the same message. the first time, percentage of dowload was less then 2%. the second time, download had progressed to about 30% before i get this message. i'm using xperia arc with latest software update.

Google controls the download servers for all Android packages. Only suggestion we can make is to try downloading on a reliable WiFi connection.

Issues in ICS update for Xperia Arc

I am using Xperia Arc. I have done the ICS update recently and I am totally disappointed with this update. The thing is some features already there in the 2.3.4 version of android is not there in ICS update.
When long press the power button ‘take screenshot’ option was there in the 2.3.4 but in ICS that option is not there.
I have seen the beautiful lock screen in ICS forums but it is missing in the ICS update
Music player is still same like 2.3.4 android version. I was expecting the custom equalizer as like Arc S . but it is not there in Arc ICS update
Google says recently opened apps will be displayed in the home screen in ICS. But its missing in the my ICS update.
Google says live and transformation effects are there in ICS but I am not able to see those things in my Xperia Arc after ICS update.
Kindly let me know is there any solutions for the above issues..

1. You take screenshot by long pressing power and volume down button (booth at same time) in ICS, thats how google has made it.
2. What beautiful lockscreen are you talking about? Sony has kept the lockscreen same because thats the lock screen many users are used to.
3. Yes music player is same. I have an Arc S, the music player is same. The music player with equalizer is in Xperia S not in Arc S.
4. Google never said any such things. You can see the recently opened apps by LONG PRESSING THE HOME BUTTON and can close them by Swiping it off the screen.
5. Once again Google didnt say any such thing. If you want to change transision effects and stuff use Apex Launcher instead of Sony's launcher. You can get Apex launcher for free from Play Store.

Problems on software update - Xperia Arc

I own a Xperia Arc Lt15 and it's stuck on 2.3.4
I checked the Sony website and it says the latest software is 4.1.B.0.587 released on 8/16/2013
Is there any way to upgrade to Android 4.0?
Any help is appreciated.

Unable to read SMS messages received on Xperia Arc

Hi,
I am unable to read SMS messages I have received on my Xperia Arc. They arrive ok to my handset (as they appear in the notification bar) but when I go to open it up under Messaging they don't appear. When I send messages they also don't appear in the conversation.
I assume there is a related symptom to my problem, my Call Log doesn't get updated anymore.
Any ideas? I have looked at thread 28371 and seems similar problems but I did not drop my phone...
I have installed avast! Mobile Security in case I have a virus but it comes up clean.

I agree with Slimshaddy's comment above. Make sure the time and date is set correctly on your phone. If you continue to have the problem, try resetting the phone and ensuring the time and date it set correctly before you receive any more messages.

If you got to skype.com/m, using your phone's browser, you should be able to download the application that's available for your phone.Hope this helps.
