Keyboard play buttons with iTunes 7

Hi,
I used to use MultiPlugin for iTunes 6 to operate my iTunes controls with the keyboard, however this won't install on iTunes 7. Does anyone have any other way to do this?

You best bet is to wait abit til there able to "Catch up" and release an update so it does work with iTUnes 7 since iTunes 7 is a major update rewritting alot of its underpinnings

Media Buttons With iTunes

I have a Saitek Eclipse II keyboard, which has media buttons on it for being used with music. It has buttons to switch to the next and previous song, stop, play, and volume control. All of these work fine when I am in the actual iTunes window, but when I have internet explorer or something else up the hotkeys don't work. I've talked with people who said they have the same issue, but their media buttons work with other music playing programs such as Winamp. Just wondering if anything can be done to get my buttons to work with iTunes. Thanks.

I speculate that your keyboard drivers have to support this function; i.e. you have to ask the keyboard manufacturer to implement that function.

Using Garageband amp simulators to play along with iTunes

Its probably a bug, but if iPod is playing a song and you open Garageband in iPad, iPod keeps playing. So you can configure an input and turn on input monitoring with and amp simulator to play along with iPod without having to import anything. However, the iPod play controls are not enabled. Double click the home button and swipe right to change the song, and the iPod controls are not enabled - it thinks the iPod doesn't have audio control.
Instead of fixing the bug by turning off iPod audio (the way most audio apps work), Apple should fix it by enabling the play controls. Then Garageband has a nice and simple way to play along with iPod tunes leveraging the iPad multi-tasking features, without having to do song imports.

Cool tip dude! I just tried it and it works a treat with the synths too. I panned the synth over to one side to try and separate the sounds out, which worked a bit but would be nice if I could pan itunes the other way. Great workaround for practicing and figuring out chords/keys etc. Thanks!

Play Button with Transition

I am trying to create an initial slide that will look similar to a video played on Youtube. I would like the user to click on a Play Icon which triggers a transition to fade out and then start the presentation.
Any ideas how I would do this?

By default Captivate generated files plays automatically. There is an option to start playing the movie on demand.
Open your project in Captivate and follow Edit> Preferences > Project > Start and End > Uncheck the "Auto Play" check box. This will insert a play button and in the published file until user clicks on the play button movie does not start playing.
Now to trigger a transition on clicking the play button insert a blank slide with background similar to your presentation.Let the blank slide be the first slide. Reduce its slide time. In the Slide properties of the Blank slide change its transition. Now a transition effect gets created after clicking on the play Button.

So my animation is a song and I'm doing like a video clip with interactivity (the interactivity is not inside at the moment).
I need to have a play button so we can see (heard) on iPhone, iPad...
My problem is that the animation begin immediatly behind the play button and before I press it.
So the song and the animation are not synchronise.
I try many things to stop the animation but nothing is working.
I 'm not use to the code, so I'm lost.

Hi Steph,
Since your animation is contained in a nested symbol, you need to turn "Autoplay" off for that symbol. Double click your "ANIM" symbol- there is a little checkbox that says "Autoplay", in the Properties panel at top left. If you uncheck that box, that symbol will not autoplay.
On the click of your button, you will then need to add this line of code, to make that symbol's timeline play:
sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("ANIM").play();

Why can i watch videos from safari online while in 3g area but when at home connected to wi-fi the video screen comes up with a play button with a line through it and doesnt let you watch video

i can not watch videos while at home and connected to wi-fi. when i touch the video i want to watch a screen comes up with a play symbol with a line through it. i can disconnect from the wi-fi and go to 3g and the video will play. this is happening when i go to safari and try to watch a online video.

Windows crashs when playing music with iTunes

Hi,
I have a problem with my iTunes. Since last week my Windows crashes when I start to listen to music over iTunes. I have already tried to re install Windows and have updated all the drivers for my hardware but there has still nothing changed.
When I'm updating my iPod with iTunes there is no problem. It only crashes when I started to listen to music with iTunes. I can still listen to music over other music programs like Winamp.
Can anybody help me?... or does anybody know what the reason could be for that?

are you getting a blue screen? if so, what numerical and text codes are you getting with it?
if you don't see a blue screen (or just get a flash of a blue screen), use Jonathan's technique to display any hidden ones:

Sound stops while playing music with iTunes Match

While playing music from iTunes Match, the sound stops. The music continues to play but there is no sound. If I double click the song, the sound will start again. But after that song is finished and it advances to the next song. The sound will stop again and I have to double click the song again. Other sounds on my MB-Air will still work. Anyone else having this issue? Thanks

It happens to me too. I listen the most on my iPhone. Song is playing, but no sound. Sometimes I have to close the app and relaunch to recover. Very annoying.

KEYBOARD NOT WORKING WITH iTUNES

I have just discovered that the keyboard short-cuts for itunes - space bar, letters for the start of the artists name etc aren't working, they were a few hours ago.
The version of my itunes is 10.4.80

Unable to play music with itunes 10.1.1

My wife is using windows 7 on a 64 bit hp laptop, and installed the newest version of itunes 10.1.1 and she is unable to play her music that she downloaded and her previous ones since she downloaded itunes 10.1.1, we have heard that there is a problem with the new itunes for 64 bit computers, is there a patch or a fix, can someone please help, she received for xmas a ipod touch, and she wants to use it.

Hi there, I know this is not going to help you, but I'm having the same problem with my brand new Motorola S9HD Bluetooth headset.
It plays ok, but the FORWARD and BACKWARD buttons on the headset don't work. The PLAY/PAUSE do.
I'm having the same problem with my car's stereo(JENSEN VM9512HD), which plays using A2DP, but the FORWARD and BACKWARDS buttons on the car stereo don't respond, but the PLAY/PAUSE do. Also using the stereo to answer a call as I drive it's great, but the address book shows the numbers and names encrypted, it would be great if they fix that too.
Hopefully, if we keep bringing this feedback, they'll do something.

Cannot play videos with itunes 7 on my mac

I recently downloaded itunes 7 and now I can't play any of my video podcasts on itunes, I double click them and nothing happens, also I'm having trouble downloading many podcasts, which itunes says are corrupted or unreadable, what the **** is up with this new itunes?

Just a small update. I even tried rebuilding my music library XML and data files by deleting them and then importing my iTunes folder back in to iTunes. No luck.
Also found more purchased content that won't work (Blade: The Series - purchased on Friday of last week - has the same blank screen issue, no overlay controls or anything, just my cursor, which is the same as Geri's game - noted incorrectly in first post that overlay controls were available), yet The Incredibles works just fine.
Again, any insights I may be missing would be MUCH appreciated.

Issues playing music with iTunes with Windows 8.1

I upgraded my laptop to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8. iTunes works fine as in videos plays. But when I try to play my music, it doesn't work and kind of freeses. Can someone please help me. Thank you

Apple TV Cannot Play Movies with iTunes Extras

For some reason, when I click on a movie in iTunes (downloaded from the iTunes Store), it plays the iTunes Extras by default, not the movie. I noticed the problem when I could not get my ATV2 to show these movies via Home Sharing. The affected movies do not even show up on my ATV2 via home sharing. Does anyone have any idea what is causing the iTunes Extra file to be the default playback file for a movie? Movies in my iTunes library that don't have iTunes Extras play just fine in iTunes and on my ATV2.

Go to your itunes library on computer and highlight the Movies category, try to find the movie - then right click and 'Show in Finder' (or Windows equivalent to view the actual movie files).
For each movie with extras you should have:
MovieName.m4v (main feature)
and
MovieName - iTunes Extras.ite (extras files)
You should actually see an entry for each in itunes grouped together.

Manually Managed Ipod - Syncing Play Count with Itunes Library

I've had a 80gb 5th Generation Classic for 7 years or so, ive always manually managed it. Now that i've bought an iphone 5 with enough storage for my itunes library i want to transfer my music onto my new phone, so i don't need to carry round an ipod and iphone!
However my play counts in my library are all very low as i don't play music on my laptop too often.
Is there a way to get the play counts off my manually managed ipod on to my laptop to put on my phone? I would really like to continue my play counts from my ipod to my iphone.

Hey, apologies for not getting back sooner, ive been working away.
I've just tried the script out and i appear to be having some issues.
When i script more than a handful of songs (15+ ish), i get the following error:
Line: 136
Char: 53
Error: The track is not modifiable
Code: A0040203
Source (null)
and consequently none of the stats are transferred over.
If i script in small batches i seem to be able to script and also focus in on the song that appears to be causing the issue, and the error pops up again when i only script the suspect song. However the stats also get scrpted over from the song. I then pick the next 10 songs or so and script and carry on. With over 7500 songs this is a long long exercise.
Do you know any reason for the above error, and is there anything to solve it?
I must point out im scripting from my iphone 5. My ipod was left at work so ill try that tomorrow night. The itunes version im using is the latest build, 11.0.0.163
