Keyboard problems on my IPAD

Lately, when I'm writing a message or an email, my keyboard is in the way of viewing what I've written or blocks the dropdown window of my mail addresses so I can't view anything but the keyboard. How can I move the keyboard out of the way?

You have the split keyboard turned on. Tap and hold down on the little keyboard icon in the lower right corner of the keyboard and select "Dock". That will put the keyboard back on the bottom of the screen.
You can turn this off in Settings>General>Keyboard>Split Keyboard>Off.

  • 2 Problems with the Ipad Air...midi keyboard and usb microphone

    IN SHORT:
2 Problems with the Ipad Air...what midi keyboard will connect to the lightning camera connector and what microphone as well?  There seems to be issues with the ipad air not being able to power them.  Has anyone got any devices to work yet?
    IN DEPTH:
I have a yeti microphone that when I plug in it says its using too much power.  A little samsung go mic I have plugs in find and works but isnt quite what im looking for.  My midi keyboard is not reading...its probably 15yrs old (didnt expect it to work).  I have ordered a usb powered keyboard but im now nervous it may not work if it requires too much power.  Has anyone had any success with a particular model of keybaord?  I saw a youtube video of the CME Xkey in which it was plugged into an ipad that uses the lightning jack, but was unsure if it was the air or a different model.
Any help is appreciated on this...I love my ipad air and hoping to make it my fully functional music recording device.
By the way I mostly use garageband

    hey mate
Yes what I ended up doing is buying a powered usb hub.  They are about 10 dollars or so on amazon.com.   There are tons to choose from.  I use a yeti micrphone now with no issues and a midi keyboard.  You will need the lightning usb adapter too.  You plug the lightning adapter into the ipad and the hub into the adapter then plug all your accessories into the powered hub.  So it works well you just gotta buy an extra piece of equipment.

  • IOS 7, iPad 4: keyboard problems with Shift key

Since I have upgraded my iPad 4 to iOS 7 a few days ago the keyboard drives me mad: I did not experience the overall slowness of the keyboard as reported by so many others. Anyway, I reset my settings just to be safe. But the reset had absolutely no influence on my real problem which is as follows:
Whenever and wherever (each app) I type, it is just a matter of luck whether or not the keyboard will recognise me typing the Shift key in order to get capital letters - and there are many caps in German words because each noun must be in caps! In 70% of all cases iOS will just write my capital letters as lower-case ones because it just does not recognise me hitting the Shift key, especially when typing quickly. Under iOS 6 this problem did not exist. I am losing so much time fixing missing capitalisation in all my texts (I use iPad for business) and/or typing extra slow and hitting the virtual Shift key on the screen extra hard that there is absolutely no flow in typing. Everything is just slow, whacky and it drives me nuts! How can it be that the latest iPad 4 with so much CPU power cannot handle a simple thing as typing caps? I am also experiencing problem when using the wipe-up gesture to get umlauts on vowels. It is not as bad as with Shift, but also noticeable.
Is there any solution to this problem? It is a major impediment and I am even considering an iOS downgrade because it is basically killing my ability to work efficiently with my iPad. Otherwise I am kinda okay with iOS 7, but this is a real show stopper. I wonder why I found nobody else on the whole web mentioning this problem.

Thank you Habitoti for describing the necessary change to the way that we need to type on ios devices to avoid the capital letter problem.
Holding the shift key fractionally longer solves the problem. But why oh why would Apple require users to fundamentally change the way they touch type by introducing a different keyboarding protocol like this? It is most unlike Apple to have us now have to consciously think about how to touch type all over again.
Intuitive operating systems are what make Apple so great. This keyboard problem is definitely not intuitive and it is driving me crazy.
Apple, you need to change the time weighting on the shift key in iOs 7.04.
    Please, pretty please!

    Hi and welcome..
Connect your iPad to your computer. Launch iTunes. Make sure your iPad is recognized in iTunes under Devices on the left.
Select the Summary tab then click Update.
Just to make sure your iPad software is up to date.

  • IPad will no longer sync with desktop Outlook programs.  Wireless keyboard cannot find the iPad.  Cannot reset the iPad.  What is wrong?

This problem developed in mid December. the synching worked perfectly on my 18 month old iPad 2 until then.  Now the iPad will not sink my calendar, contacts and notes from my desktop Outlook program.  It does seem to sync my pictures. the wireless keyboard had no problem recognizing the iPad until mid-December.  I tried to reset the iPad by pressing the on off and home button concurrently.  The iPad logo appeared but the iPad did not reset.  Instead, my full configuration on the iPad along with all of my apps simply reappeared.  I am at a loss as to what happened and what to do about it.

Your post indicates iOS 4.3 which is now quite old.  I am going to suggest restoring your iPad, which, among other things, will update your iOS to the current version.
I recommend restoring your iPad.  Make sure you have the current version of iTunes on your computer (currently 11.0.1).  Plug your iPad into your computer, let it sync, then press "Restore" on the right side when the summary page of the iPad is displayed in iTuens' display.

  • Keyboard input slowdowns on iPad mini

While typing into a text box on various forums and when entering comments on a blog site I will get to a point the I can no longer enter text.  The audible feedback of the keyboard continues but no letters appear.  If I wait, sometimes a letter or two may appear.  Generally I'd I backspace it will delete  letters, but I'm still unable to type additional  text.  It's not site limitation as I can type long text enters in Notes and paste the text just fine.  Preforming the same action from an iPad 3 or and iPhone 4S does not have this problem. I don't remember having this problem with iPad 2.
I think this a memory relate to the iPad mini or iOS 6.
This can happen if Safari is the only App currently running, but at a higher frequencies with other Apps list the recent used App bar.  If I switch out of Safari and run XSysinfo the amount of free memory is low. If I pull to gather memory (missed reference as a memory refresh) then switch back to Safari, most times I can continue typing. This is a course if Safari was able to retain the tab in memory, which does not seem to be the rule.  I've had free memory as low as 5.2MB and after recover be at 200+MB.
If I open two tabs in Safari (after memory gather) I can switch the two tabs with content retained, but opening more tabs will cause each tab to be redrawn as you switch between them.  Again this not the behavior experienced on an iPad 3.  I have experienced the problem on various websites and to a far lesser extent in notes, pages and email.
    AND;
Yes, I have with newly boot device
No, I have not pulled the XSysyinfo screen more than once.
Yes, the more Apps I'm in and out of before a reboot, a gather the faster the problem wii appear
No, removing App icons/stubs from recently run Apps bar does not release all memory used by App.
I think this related to them iPad mini having only 512MB of Ram (Apples only fail on the mini), but I didn't have this problem on the iPad 2.
Here's the Question, has anyone else seen or heard of the problem?  Could it be a hardware failure (unlikely, but preferable)?
iPad mini 32GB, AT&T cellular (not turn on)

Don't know why it tagged your reply as helpfull.
First off it's not a task bar, it's a recently used App bar.  Wether an App can run in the background, suspend itself, just hang around in memory or kills itself on exit they still show up in what you refer to as the Task Bar.
This suggestion should have been negated by the line "No, removing App icons/stubs from the resently run Apps bar does not release all memory used by [an] App".
Your second idea was covered in the line "Yes, I have [the same problem] with newly boot[ed] device".
Ok, I left out a few words, but surely if you feel qualified to provide answers you should have been able to infer entened information.
Based on the complete text why would think these basic solutions would have been missed.  Neither of these suggestion are solutions, this would be like call ing your car manufacture with the problem, "I drive my car for about 15 minutes and then it stalls, after I roll to stop and wait about 2 minutes it will restart again"  and thier answers is "Stop driving after 14 minutes, turn your care off, wait 10 seconds and restart your car".

  • Keyboard shortcuts gone on ipad

Where have my keyboards shortcuts gone on iPad???  I have been to Settings-General and they are not there any longer.  In fact I can' t see anything to do with keyboards.

It seems that Keyboard Shortcuts may come and go...

  • What's the problem with my iPad's screen?

I've recently noticed that sometimes my iPad's screen can 'burn' in and I can see what the previous screen is, as you can see on the image above (the Search and sidebar from Message is visable). I was wondering if anyone knows what the problem is, because it's rather weird. This has also happened with bar from Safari.

I am completely aware of the brightness slider.
I usually have my iPad set between 5/8 and 3/4 way to the right. At present, I have it set for 50%.
The brightness is not the problem.
It's a contrast issue. It's most apparent with anything with a white background and/or drop shadow effects involved.
Things look like they are washed-out in color. Like the screen has too much constrast.
And the "burn-in" or image "ghosting" that appears after a particular app screen is dismissed, shows up as clearly as it does in Matthew's example. It does slowly disappears after a minute or two, but it always appears when going between different apps or different screens.
The keyboard even "ghosts"or looks like it has slight "burn-in" after it is dismissed.
This effect only last a couple of minutes if the iPad hasn't had any activity.
I have had my original iPad since April 2010. Have never had this issue untl now.
Planning on getting an iPad3, but wanted to pass on my original to my girlfriend who can't afford one
at this time. I am just at a loss at what happened to have caused this.
Like I stated earlier, I wonder if it had something to do with introducing my iPad to indoor/outdoor temp. extremes?
I am hoping this will clear up on its own, but I have been dealing with this for a whole week, so far.
My Mom's iPad1 which I bought for her B-day, around the same timeframe does not exhibit this problem. Her iPad has never been out of her house.

  • I need help with an email WiFi sending problem on my iPad 2

I’m having an email WiFi sending problem on my iPad 2     Model:  MC774C/A;  IOS VERSION: 6.1.3 (10B329).
While I use 4 email accounts on the iPad -- Hotmail, Gmail, iCloud and ns.sympatico.ca ( a division of BellAliant) – the sending difficulty only relates to the ns.sympatico.ca.  The settings for this account are:         pop.bellaliant.net            and      smtp.bellaliant.net
I first noticed the problem about 3 weeks ago while travelling across the country (Canada).  (I do recall about that time there was an update of my IOS and I also for my wife purchased from the Bell store an iPhone which shares my Apple account.)  Prior to that everything worked well for a couple of years.
I noticed earlier this month that the iPad received mail fine but would not send at night using the motels’ WiFi.  During the day, using my 3G account, all worked fine.  I phoned Bell but was told that my experience was normal so I thought no more about it until I returned home and found the same problem at the house.  I called Bell again and worked for 2 hours with 3 Bell technicians who succeeded in getting the iPad to neither send nor receive and gave up advising me to take the iPad into a Bell store to have it looked at.  I did that and the young technician got the iPad sending and receiving by changing the        smtp.bellaliant.net      to         mail.1xbell.ca
However, when I returned home again, I realized that it was working on my 3G and still doesn’t send on my WiFi
I’m looking for any suggestions that might solve this annoying problem?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.
