Keyboard rotate

I have the iphone 4
The keyboard keeps rotating without me wanting it to
anybody know how to stop it, I can't seem to find a setting anywhere
help would be much appreciated

If you double click the home button it should bring up the multitask function. If you scroll to the right you should see a portrait lock button. This looks like a circle arrow. You would push that to lock the rotate function of the device.

No keyboard rotation in some apps

Hello,
in some apps (in landscape modus), when I want to give in some text, the keyboard will be opened into portrait mode.
So i have to rotate the iPhone, then I give in my text, and after sending text, I have to rotate back to landscape modus.
Happens onto iPhone 4, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 plus, iPad mini and iPad Air after updating to iOS 8 - 8.02.

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

First you ask how to turn on the orientation lock, then you say your screen won't rotate. If the orientation lock is on, the screen won't rotate. Why doesn't my iPhone5 keyboard rotate?

N97 doesn't change to landscape when keyboard oper...

Folsk, just updated the firmware on the phone and the transfer to landscape when opening the keyboard is either very sluggish [ takes about 1 minute ] or non existant.
Also if the keyboard is open and the ophone is in portrait the key pad doesn't have all features - ir the little blue arror key that lets you type numbers or symbols doesn't work.
I've tried to re-install the formware but no change - is there a setting I'm missing or is my phone screwed?

You do raise an interesting point, however when Safari is opened in landscape mode and I click the search field the keyboard does appear in landscape mode. I originally felt the same way, since in other applications (mail, etc.) the keyboard rotates automatically from vertical to landscape. It seems that we'll have to open Safari in landscape mode first. It will be interesting to hear from Apple about this little wobble. Cheers.

How to disable the frame rotation corner

One thing that is bothering since the frame rotation feature was added is the missing option to DISABLE this feature!
Perhaps it's just my way of working, if I want to rotate a frame I quickly press "R" on the keyboard, rotate and press "V" or else to get back.
Almost every time I want to scale a frame on the logical lower right corner I hit "rotate" first and have to try again. I find that very annoying and am sure there are many others having the same issue with it. Too many functions on already hard to grab corner edges are rather counter-productive in my eyes.
Any way to disable that rotation corner?
If not:
Adobe – it would be cool to have a simple option in the prefs where one can enable/disable that function.

What you need to do is provide a ComponentListener which always resets the JFrame back to its original position.

Keyboard not working properly since ios 8

WWhen I try to share links from other apps I get so many problem. If I try to share a link via sms the screen is sitting out of view to the right and if I try to send via email I get no keyboard at all Making it impossible to manually add an email or subject field. On many apps the keyboard rotates to landscape mode while the type area is normal despite the phone being perfectly vertical.
also videos on facebook will not play at all but youtube works perfect apart from the keyboard issues.
YOutube search arch box is always hid under the clock, battery and network status bar at the top of screen but this could be an issue for youtube to resolve. My iphone 5 is just generally slower and often freezes and crashes. I'm not expecting support on these issues in just posting to let Apple know and to vent my frustrations. In events like this apple should make the old version available for download as a normal update until these issues are resolved. It's so hard to believe that someone as big as Apple can get it so wrong.

(A) Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
(B) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

didn't realize that a keyboard lock button was added to the draw down window on the front of the phone and inadvertently hit it, turning off my keyboard rotation. before I got someone who knew about the keyboard lock button, I goat a moron who told me to reset the whole frickin phone so now am in the process of redoing 8 months of phone prefference settings. is the "globe" button for the long range and pages of icnographs an app? I don't remember how we got it and neither does my wife

Z3 Delete key issue?

After a recent dictionary update that simply wouldn't go away until I'd agreed to down load it, now when I've typing a text, email, message or pretty much anything, if I delete words or use the x key at all it starts to add random.letters full stops, remove words and generally **bleep** me right off and makes any typing a nightmare!!
I've tried clearing the data, all that did was turn my key board to Chinese and the problem still persists.
Please, before I smash the phone can someone help???

if that was my phone I would try this
remove the film protector and check again, also if you use the keyboard rotate the phone on multiple directions to see if you experience the same issue with that letter. try
holding the phone on portrait then rotate it landscape to the left then rotate landscape to the right

How to upgrade the memory on Portege M400?

My new M400 has come with 512Mb of RAM. According to kingston.com it can be expanded to 2Gb. I can see how to replace the HDD, but not the memory.
Is it under the keyboard?

The memory slots you will find under the keyboard.
Before you will start the upgrade procedure you should shut down the notebook and remove the AC adapter cable and the battery.
1.) Slip you finger under a notch at the end of the keyboard brace and lift up to relase latches and remove the keyboard brace.
2.) Remove the two screws securing the keyboard
3.) Lift up the back of the keyboard, rotate it toward you and lay in face down on the palm rest. (do not touch the keys)
4.) Remove two screws and take off the memory module cover.
5.) Fit the memory modules connectors into the socket at about 45 degree angle and push down until latches on either side snap into place. Align thenotch of the memory modules with that of the memory slot and gently insert the module into the slot.

My ibook has a problem

Well find your iBook here:

Then follow the procedure for removing the keyboard. Usually releasing the keyboard, rotating it up, removing the Airport card and RAM shield and unplugging the keyboard.
Then use a USB keyboard and run the iBook that way. If the problem goes away you'll need a new keyboard.
BTW was anything spilled on the keyboard?

Problem with rotation and keyboard click sound

Ok, there's still a problem with the rotation and keyboard click sound and I thought I had the problem fixed.
It's a serious bug when you want the keyboard click sound enbabled without having the rotation locked. I noticed this bug started when I had the previous iosinstalled 7.0.6.
Everytime I wanted to enable the keyboard click sound, I have to always go to settings and have lock rotation checked. And it would stay locked.
If I wanted to rotate my iPad, I have to have mute enabled, but no keyboard click sound.
I know it sounds confusing. I'm already confused... beh.

Is There a Keyboard Combo to Show the Old Screen Rotation in the Displays Setting?

Hi. Usually Apple's Option key shows hidden features in OS X but it doesn't seem to show the screen rotation (90, 180, 270, degrees if I remember.) anymore. Is there a Terminal or a keyboard combo that'll make it appear because I need to use Grab to screengrab a whole prayer and it will only fit it's rotated sideways on this iMac (27") under its native resolution.
