Keyboard Shorcuts being overwritten

Hi all, my keyboard shortcut prefs are (unpredictably) being overwritten with the system defaults. This has happened a few times now and it's getting very annoying. Unfortunately I haven't seen a pattern - but it's happened at least 3 times in the last 6 months. I thought it was happening after system patches, but it just happened yesterday after a simple restart. Any clues? Is there a file I can backup to restore my shortcuts (when) it happens again?
Thanks in advance-

Hi Daniel,
Welcome to Discussions!
Yes, this annoying problem was known, and nobody ever found a durable fix, that I remember of.
It is fixed now, since 10.4.2 or 10.4.3, which won't help you much, sorry!
--> Feedback ...
and finger crossed, hopefully this kind of bug on an older OS would still be worked on for the next Update?

  • SmartView 11.1.2 install being overwritten by previous uninstalled version

I am not sure how to explain this but my SmartView 11.1.2 install is being overwritten by the previous uninstalled version (11.1.1.3).
On our Windows 2008 server 32bit with all SPs installed, we had 11.1.1.3 installed and we uninstalled it. We then removed the c:\hyperion directory. We rebooted and then installed smartview 11.1.2.0 which appears to go to the c:\oracle\product\smartiew directory.
When the first new user logs in and opens Excel, a small program starts to run and SmartView 11.1.2.0 gets configured and Excel shows an "Smart View" tab.
Everything is fine until a user who previously was using Smartview 11.1.1.3 launches Excel... When they launch Excel it starts an installer which recreates the c:\hyperion directory and installs 11.1.1.3 and then Excel opens with a "Hyperion" tab.
The new users that previously had never used 11.1.1.3 are are still in 11.1.2.0 until they close Excel. The next time they open it they no longer have the 11.1.2.0 SmartView Tab but instead have the 11.1.1.3 Hyperion Tab.
Has anyone ever seen this before and/or have any ideas on how to stop it?

Note: I redid my steps one more time. The 11.1.2.0 version installs by default to c:\oracle\smartview not c:\oracle\product\smartview.
Also, I searched the entire server for .msi & .exe files and may have found the culprit. After running the following & selecting uninstall it appears I may have 11.1.2.0 working for all users:
    c:\Windows\Installer\ab630db.msi dated 7/30/2010 3:59pm author: Oracle Size: 7.223KB.
Edited by: Mike W on Sep 7, 2010 4:42 AM to denote status...
Edited by: Mike W on Sep 8, 2010 8:48 AM This may be resolved as finding the ab630db.msi may have cleared it up.

  • Is there any way to prevent fields from being overwritten when importing data via xdp-file?

In an pdf-form designed with LCD everytime the form gets merged with an xdp-datafile content of all fields get overwritten, regardless which data-binding (normal, global, none) is assigned to the fields and regardless if the fields are exluded in the xdp-datafile. Is this normal behavior and is there any way to prevent fields from being overwritten?

The xdp-file is first exported from Acrobat Professional 8 (export data as *.xdp) to get the complete structure. Then in the xdp-file some fields are removed manually and other fields are filled with data. When the modified xdp-file is opened again with Acrobat Professional 8 it grabs the original pdf-form and merges the manually filled fields into the form. With the merge all other fields in the form are overwritten, even if they are not defined in the xdp-file. And that is what I want to avoid. I want to merge the xdp-file into the form and keep the data in fields not defined in the xdp-file.

  • Why are active menus and dialog boxes disappearing/being overwritten by the active tab/page content?

Frequently when selecting a download directory/filename in the "save to" dialog the entire dialog is overwritten with the active page content. It appears the dialog has closed, but if you tab through the dialog the active field/control is written but the rest of the dialog remains hidden/overwritten. This has also happened with the "open file" dialog. The the drop down menus on the menu bar are occasionally being overwritten after being activated/pulled down. I have not been able to determine a common/specific event causing this problem.

I seem to have fixed it by putting <div  class="clearfloat"></div> after the navigation bar?

  • Session Cookies Being Overwritten Browsing From SSL to Non SSL

I have created a bug report for this issue as well.
Please note I am using J2EE session variables so keep that in mind.
I am seeing session cookies being overwritten when browsing from an SSL connection to a non SSL connection.
    For example:
Visiting https://www.domain.com/ results in a JSESSIONID cookie being set with details being send for "Encrypted connections only".
Visiting http://www.domain.com/ results in a JSESSIONID cookie being set with details being send for "Any type of connection".
    Here's the problem:
Say for example, you're logging into an admin module located at https://www.domain.com/admin/. Once authenticated and some session variables are set, you browse to http://www.domain.com/. When that happens your session cookie (JSESSIONID) is overwritten with a new value and you instantly lose your authentication in the admin module.
Obviously this is causing massive problems for my clients that bounce back and forth from SSL to non SSL connections which is common for e-commerce websites.
    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Clear your cookies.
    2. Visit a web page such as https://www.domain.com/. Note the JSESSIONID cookie value.
    3. Visit a web page such as http://www.domain.com/. Note the JSESSIONID cookie value and how it was overwritten.
This behavior changed in ColdFusion 10. ColdFusion 9 did not overwrite the session cookie.
    Has anyone else experience this?

Deleting and re-adding my account seems to have fixed it.  I think when I initially added my Google Talk account, it was by using the "Add Jabber Account" under 10.6 or something.  Now, when I re-added my account, I notice both "Google Talk" and "Jabber" are options, so my thought here is that Jabber and Google Talk options are no longer quite the same thing.

  • Files being overwritten

I just upgraded to Dreamweaver CS3 from MX 2004. I have the
following enabled for my site definition: Maintain synchronization
information; Enable file check in and check out; and Check out
files when opening. The problem is, every time I open a file
locally, it automatically and instantaneously gets overwritten by
the remote file. This did not happen with MX 2004, and this has
caused many problems for me. Is this supposed to be happening, or
do I have a problem here? I've tried disabling Maintain
synchronization information, but this doesn't change anything. Any
and all help is greatly appreciated.

    > Isn't that the point of the
    > synchronization feature - to alert you when your files
    are not synched and
    > then
    > let you choose what you want to do?
If you are using checkin/checkout, the remote site is the
    gold standard for
all checked-in files. Thus, overwriting your local copy is of
    no
consequence, since you cannot have made changes to the file
    after it has
been checked in. It would be unnecessary for DW to ask if you
    want to
overwrite it, because DW assumes that you know it will be
    overwritten by
virtue of the fact that you have just initiated a checkout
    operation. Get
    it?

    I can then check

    in, right? Am I
    > misunderstanding you on that?
Your understanding as expressed in the first two sentences is
    absolutely
    correct.
If your co-worker checks out a file, you cannot check it out
    until it's
properly checked in by your co-worker. Once the file is
    checked in, you can
    then check it out.

  • Locking a cell to prevent it from being overwritten

I want to create a table that restricts data entry to specific cells within the table, keeping cells with formulas that calculate data from being overwritten but I am not seeing any way to "protect" cells from inadvertent data entry. Putting an object over the top of a cell or range of cells and setting its opacity to 0 and then locking it keeps you from selecting the underlying cell with the mouse but you can still tab over to the cell with the direction keys and enter data. Is there a way to lock/protect a cell to keep it from being overwritten?

    b,
This is an area that Numbers can't really address effectively. The designers don't seem to have considered the possibility of having a document designed by one user and used by others less knowledgeable or trustworthy or careful. If you don't like the workarounds that you found in other discussions your best course is to use another program for now and submit Feedback to Apple if you want to influence future development.

  • Downloaded files being overwritten

The browser (Firefox Browser for Android 20.0.1) itself is great, but I have one problem. When I download a file (and I do this rather often) after closing browser and opening it again, Firefox starts to re-download the same file. It wouldn't be a problem if the file which has been already downloaded earlier wasn't being overwritten.
But it often happens that instead of the full file, ie 460mb, I discover that my file is incomplete, of a size of several kbs. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

  • SendAs being overwritten on all mailboxes

We have had persistent problems getting SendAs to work; we set it up in EMC on a mailbox (delete old SendAs, add a few new ones), all seems OK, then an hour later the SendAs has been overwritten by the old SendAs setting. I've checked and all the mailboxes
have the same SendAs accounts attached: one domain user (non-admin) and a UUID presumably from a deleted account.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
Please refer to the following article:
    http://3cvguy.com/active-directorys-sdprop-process-vs-exchange-send-as-permissions/
Obviously the “right” way to solve this is to remove a user’s account for the protected groups and create them a supplemental admin account.  It is important to note that even if you remove a users from the protected group the “AdminCount” value will
NOT change from “1” back to “Null” (which is why users who were removed months ago were still having the issue).  You will have to manually go into ADSIedit and manually change the attribute back to “0”.  So, if you can’t remove the user from the
protected group in a pinch the one solution I like is to modify the “adminSDHolder” object’s permissions in ADSIedit so the changes propagate to anyone in the protected group.  This will prevent my “send-as” permissions from being overwritten.

  • Resource Bundle being overwritten

    Hello,
We are upgrading from jhs 9.03 to jhs 9.0.4.4. A new feature is resource bundles and that is were we are having problems with.
We have two jhs subapplications and I want to use the same resource bundle class for both applications. The problem is that every time I start JAG the class is being overwritten and not append to the existing class.
There is a other project that also uses jhs and has two subapplications. They don't have that problem. There the class is not overwritten every time.
I first tried using JDeveloper 9.0.3.1, but also tried it with JDeveloper 9.0.3.3. Both had this problem.
Does anyone have a idea what this could be? When does JAG decide that the file should be overwritten?
    Thanx,
    Dennis

    Dennis,
The JAG loads the existing COMPILED resource bundle. So, make sure you compile your resource bundle before you run the JAG, and make sure it is on the classpath of your project.
Lastly, make sure you set "Override NLS Resource Bundle Entries" to false in the Application Structure Editor.

  • Yosemite problems with double click dock commands and keyboard shorcuts

I have a mid 2012 macbook pro 17", i recently installed Yosemite although it fixed my internet problem (connection dropping randomly) now i am having issues with opening apps and files. Double clicking on a file launches the corresponding app but does't open the file i just get and message stating the app is not open anymore if click the file again. Finder keyboard shorcuts such as command+Q don't work. Can't access some menu items such as "about this mac". Dragging a file into the dock icon launches the app but doesn't open the file either.
I have no idea what's causing this. anybody got a clue or having similar problems
    Thank you

And has a funny fact... The Left Button was with this problem... So what I did? I changed the primary mouse button to the Right... Worked ok for almost 1~2 days... After that, the two buttons showed the double-click problem....
But, I repeat, the mouse works perfectly in the windows of my brother '-'

  • HHActiveX.dll is being overwritten by a different, earlier version...

    Here's an interesting problem:
On some systems on which my .chm file for a local help system is installed, HHActiveX.dll (the 32-bit one supplied with RH9 for redistribution) is being overwritten using a different, earlier version. It is not yet clear when the overwrite occurs, but it is being looked into.
Has anyone seen this before? I don't see how it's possible that it's a problem with the .dll or the .chm, so I suspect something is awry in Windows (XP, SP3 in this case).
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Burtin
I might imagine that could occur if someone installed another application that uses RoboHelp created CHM files and requires the dll.
Has that by chance been the case here?
Another possibility would be if for some reason a system restore point has been set and reverted back to.

  • [solved]how to stop /etc/resolv.conf keeps being overwritten ???

no matter how many times to change the content, it keeps like that:
    # Generated by dhcpcd from eth0
    # /etc/resolv.conf.head can replace this line
    nameserver 192.168.8.1
    # /etc/resolv.conf.tail can replace this line
so i can't add nameserver in it
Last edited by tempo (2010-01-14 15:01:35)

The clue is in the message, use a file called resolv.conf.head to add a nameserver to the top and resolv.conf.tail to add it to the bottom.
It's being overwritten because you are using dhcpcd to auto configure your network settings.
