I would love to have a keyboard shortcut to apply html
comment and apply */ comments which appear in the icons on the left
of the code window.
I cannot find anyway to do this. Is it possible?
I use the power tools extension from p7

Hi. After loading a picture into Photoshop some of the menu tools are greyed out and I cannot use the keyboard short cuts, for instance I cannot use Ctrl + T for free transform, how do I resolve this problem. In addition the tool Icons are so small I have to get close to the screen to see them, is there anyway the Icons can be made bigger without reducing the resolution of the screen.
Thanks
DerekAre you working on a background layer? If so, Ctrl + T will not work. Press Alt and double-click your background layer to convert to a normal layer (or right-click BG layer and select Layer from Background) and try again.
If you're working in Photoshop CC 2014 you can go to Preferences > Experimental Features and tick "Scale UI 200% for high-density displays" to make your buttons and icons larger. -
Keyboard short-cut for Restart and Shutdown?
Since recent keyboards and Mac OS X doesnt have keyboard short-cuts for Shutdown and Restart, is it possible to create new ones for these functions?
Also, why doesnt Mac OS X have these anymore (such as when it had the keyboard with that button you hit to bring up dialog box to shutdown, restart, etc).. that's what I'm looking for...
As for the reason I want this.. sometimes my display goes blank and I can't see anything and hence since you cant see the screen to mouse over to restart, etc... if I could hit a keyboard combo to bring up the restart dialog box and I then hit Enter, it would execute that action...The Shutdown and Restart shortcuts are here

arikwIf you are at the end of an audio clip and its not butted against another (which it shouldnt be because audio clips should be on separate tks)...
CTRL-Shift -D will give you an audio fade. instead of aan audio cross dissolve. -
Apple, why did you remove keyboard short cuts for EQ in v7?
now gone in v7
command-1 for main window
command-2 for equalizer!
that eq window short cut was cruitial(for me at least) when I'm doing parties and I need fast access to the EQ
bad move - apple programmers, what were you guys thinking?Apple changed the commands and they are now used for video.
You can program it back in with different keyboard commands.
Close iTunes. Go to System Preferences>Hareware>Keyboard & Mouse>Keyboard Shortcuts.

(Using an "iPad 3", i dont care what apple calls it) There should be a built in one button access to this from EVERY keyboard since this function is used to replace typing. An inherent Apple shortcut like copy and paste. I set my iPad up on a framed photo holder and use it like a moniter screen when I write, my Bluetooth keyboard is separated from it and makes writing comments and long articles less efficient because it requires extra steps with every dictation, while taking up screen space to have the on screen open. There needs to be a way to access dictation without the onscreen keyboard open, via any standard keyboard.
I was "reasonably frustrated" for having more than one answer offered for a question that not only didn't I ask, but made it clear I was aware of the information it appears they cut and paste at me.
I see it as: the title of my post should inform any person with an elementery handeling of the english language that I not only have this type of keyboard but am well aware it has a button for the ONSCREEN keyboard. That makes it look like they were just "approval hunting" #1. 2nd Grampa Joe's generic sounding response as a zero level newbie already who found "this" post where the first line is about keyboard shortcuts......WHEN there are better posts with more views and commets for exactly that. Approval hunting #2. I'd say based on both, my suspicion is darn reasonably justified sir.
"couldn't find the answer he wanted" no sir, I didn't get an answer at all, they answered OTHER questions. Questions I didn't ask, even after having explained myself more clearly. If anyone is a Jerk, it's you for jumping to eronous conclusions and attacking me for them on personal level. I made a justified claim based on the BLACK AND WHITE TEXT, that it still appears to me is well supported, you just flung mud.........who's the jerk?
Finally, your first post answered my question directly. Thank you. However under General/Keyboard, at the bottom you can make keyboard shortcuts. They may not function how I'm asking, but you can make them. -
Keyboard short cut for movie/audio preview
I want to go through a large collection of audio files (several thousand files) and the simplest way I've found to check out their contents has been to use the finder's preview column. However, it is still rather clunky, requiring a lot of mousing and clicking (click to select file, click in the preview column to play the preview, mouse back to previous column and click to select new file, etc.)
What I want to know is whether there is a keyboard shortcut to activate the preview play. If, for instance, the shortcut was Space (as in the QT Player) then I could quickly move down and preview a long list of audio files with a combination 'Cursor down' and 'Space'.
But Space (as, I suppose, it should) simply jumps to the top of the list of files, rather than playing the preview.
Is there a shortcut or a hack for this?1101/3547
Hi Rick,
There may be an even faster solution, but here, that's what I'd try:
Using the finder's preview column,
replace all the clicking and mousing with the keyboard equivalents, that is:
- "click to select file": navigate through the folders in column view with the arrow keys.
- "click in the preview column to play the preview": hit command-O (+ command-W, not at all urgent but if you mind the mess on the Desktop).
- "mouse back to previous column": arrow back.
(of course you knew the Applications Switcher (command-Tab) is set to get you back the previously used app, in you case the Finder..)
- "and click to select new file": arrows etc.
Select all:
Also, what happens if you select all your sound files before hitting command-O?
In Preview this one too is very handy.
Mousing simple:
There is another way of mousing that may be simpler, because it is one simple mouse back and forth travel between the files and the Dock, with no clicking:
Just drag the file directly onto the Dock icon of the application that opens them. It doesn't matter if soon your Desktop is cluttered with dozens of open files. Use option-command-W from time to time or even quit the app.
Hope this helps a little.

Keyboard Short Cuts for the symbols # etc
Hi I have found the key combination for ® "alt + R" and # "alt + 3" but is there a map somewhere that tells me where they all are ?
Go to system prefs/international/input menu and check the box for Keyboard Viewer, plus the box for "show input menu in finder." Then select Keyboard Viewer in the "flag" menu at the top right of the Finder.

I just got a new keyboard. It does not have a numeric pad and consequently does not have either a Home or End key. What are the keyboard shortcuts for Home and End with this new design? Where is the full list of keyboard shortcuts written? I could not find them in the Help Menu.
Thank You

Keyboard short cut for full screen in fcp

hi yesterday i downloaded a software from i tunes for keyboard short cut and i don't know how to use them and install them, how to use keyboard shorts bought from i tunes
You can install it on your iOS device (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) either by redownloading it directly on the device via the Purchased tab in the App Store app on it, or by connecting the device to your computer's iTunes and syncing it to it.
Syncing apps from a Mac : iTunes 11 for Mac: Sync and organize iOS apps
from a PC : iTunes 11 for Windows: Sync and organize iOS apps
As to how to then use the app, if the description on the app's description page in the store doesn't describe how to use it in enough detail, then is there a link to the developer's website on its description page, and does that have details ? -
Keyboard short-cuts and comment-enabled PDF's
I'm running AR7.0.9 under SuSE 10.1 and I have the following problem when working with a comment-enabled document, such as the JavaScript reference manual. Once I've used the highlighting tool, whose keyboard short-cut is U, I find that I can no longer enter the letter U when composing a note. Similarly, once I've added an attachment, whose keyboard short-cut is J,
I can no longer enter J into a note. Is this a known problem?
Or is there something wrong with my setup?
James QuirkHI all,
I did't get any help related to this issue.
Can anyone respond.

On your tutorial list of keyboard short cuts, there is not a choice to "scroll" down the firefox web page by one line or 2-3 lines at a time.
