Keyboard shortcut from 2003

In 2003, I created this image (https://plus.google.com/photos/109848440303716014399/albums/5853949687704743473) by using the line tool and I believe a single keyboard shortcut then "drawing" in the irregular pattern. Illustrator inserted the lines at a steady rate while I controlled the line length in a single pass with the mouse. Does anyone know how to do this today?

Hold down the tilde (top left of keybvaord  ~) key while drawing.

Is it possible to import keyboard shortcuts from PS CS3 into CS4?
    And how?

Mmh, you could possibly simply copy over the respective files from your preset directory (Documents and Settings/Matjaz/Application Data/Adobe/Photoshop CS3/Presets/Keyboard Shortcuts). Not sure if it's safe, though. Never tried.

  • Keyboard shortcuts from Greek Input not working for my account only

I just upgraded to Leopard from Tiger 10.4.11 on my MBP 2.4 listed below. The Installer took care of everything, and after it was finished, my own account, the only Admin account, misbehaves when it comes to keyboard shortcuts in the Finder or any other app. To use the shortcuts, the Input flag must US English. If it's Greek, nothing works.
If I switch to the other two accounts on my Mac, one of which was carried over from the Tiger setup, the other I setup after the OS upg, both of which are Std accounts, not Admin, shortcuts work regardless of the keyboard input flag.
    Tips, anyone?

    That's alright, folks, problem solved:
Ran Leopard Cache Cleaner, and selected from Caches the third option (deep clean).
Thanks, anyway. Hope this may help some other poor sod.

  • Keyboard shortcuts from Tiger/Leopard not working in Snow Leopard

OK, here are two examples: In Mail.app I used to press CMD-option-J to invoke the Delete Junk Mail dialog. Now it doesn't work if I have switched to the English US keyboard input method; any other selection of keyboard input works (I use English US, Greek, Unicode Hex Input and another greek one from vodkatini.gr called "Ελληνικά").
Also, within Graphisoft ArchiCAD 13 I used option-O (that's the letter 'O') to access one command (it's Document>Layout Book>Open assigned Master Layout). This worked up until I switched to Snow Leopard. Now it only works if I have enabled the Unicode Hex Input keyboard input method.
Anyone cares to shed some light? Has something changed in the way keystrokes are interpreted in the new OS?
FWIW, when I go to ArchiCAD's keyboard shortcuts preferences dialog (it's where the user can customize them to their liking), for the first time ever I notice the following: if I try to assign option-O as the shortcut for a command, the field which should confirm visually what I have pressed (and which up until now used to reflect my keystroke by displaying "Option-O" so I can be sure what I am trying to assign to the specific command) now shows "ø". Now, at first it looks like Snow Leopard is interpreting the keystroke as the special 'o' with the diagonal (sorry, don't know what it's called); it's puzzling, though, that it doesn't behave the same way when I press option-E for the keystroke (which should, by analogy, produce the character 'é') and so on.
    Thanks for any tips, people.

None of this works for me because, as I'm using SpamSieve, Mail's inbuilt Junk Mail filtering is turned off and I don't have a 'Junk' folder. What is puzzling is that I certainly used this shortcut before (I think to empty the Trash after deleting everything from the 'Spam' folder - which moved it to the Trash) which seems a bit odd. After the upgrade I found this didn't work. Adding a Greek keyboard made no difference.
Perhaps someone who isn't using SpamSieve can try this out.

  • Transfering keyboard shortcuts from iPhone to iPad

I have an iPhone 4S with about 1k (no I'm not really exaggerating) keyboard shortcuts I've made since I got the phone a few months ago (any time I misspell something I make a keyboard shortcut, for example if I accidentally type "neighborhoo" and misstype the "d" I make a shortcut). I am thinking of buying an iPad 2 and would like to xfer all of them to the iPad 2 and not have to redo them all. Is this possible? I know I could restore the iPad with the iPhone backup but that seems weird considering that the iPhone has a bunch of stuff on it that wouldn't work on the iPad (like Omnifocus which isn't universal).

iPod Touch and iPhone apps will work on the iPad (assuming the the iPad is running the relevant OS needed for those apps) even if they are not universal apps, but they will only work in the iPhone native size. You will be able to enlarge the app on the screen by tapping on the 2X in the corner of the app but it will be pixelated and in lower resolution and it looks kind of crappy on the iPad screen. I hate the way that iPhone and iPod apps look on my iPad - but they will work.
When you restore one device from a backup of another device - you will restore the exact settings from the one device to the other. It will change your network settings, bookmarks, notes, calendars, Safari history, app data, app settings, email messages, camera roll and all of the data that the backup contains. Of course - if you sync all of that stuff and you want all of the same settings and all of that other stuff on all devices then you are OK.
If you restore the iPad from the backup of the phone and then backup the iPad again, it will save all of that app data and all of the settings in the iPad's backup.

  • Deleting keyboard shortcuts from your iPhone

Hey, this has probably been brought up before, apologise if that is the case!
    Anyway...
I am a great fan of the keyboard shortcuts feature offered on nearly all Apple devices. The iPhone for example, instead of typing "What's up?" you can make a shortcut so that you only need to type "wup" in order for your phrase to automatically be replaced. I have set up hundreds of these ever since I got my first iPhone many years ago. However recently, my devices (iPhone 6+ and a few Macs) have started syncing my shortcuts with each other, which I think is awesome, apart from some shortcuts that are relevant when typing text messages and less relevant when typing professional documents on my Mac. This is however easy to fix by deleting some shortcuts and modifying them.
    The problem...
I cannot delete nor modify my shortcuts, not on my Macs or on my iPhone. I understand that in order to delete a shortcut you must simply do the following:
On iPhone, go to: Settings > General > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Edit and then do what I desire.
On Mac, go to: System Preferences > Keyboard > Text and then you have the "Replace" and "With" columns where you can modify these shortcuts.
These techniques work for about 10 minutes.
    Let me explain:
A long time ago I added the frivolous shortcut where "No." is replaced with "№", however this gets extremely annoying when my iPhone sometimes take the word "No" as being "No.", (you guessed right) and replaces it with "№". The word "No" is replaced by "№". I tried to simply fix this by going into the shortcuts settings and deleting it, then making a new shortcut where "Numr" is replaced by "№". Now I have about 5 shortcuts for "№".
I figured because my iPhone is synced with my other devices, the shortcut should be automatically deleted across all devices. This is however not the case, instead, my Mac sees that there is a missing shortcut on my iPhone and syncs it, adding the shortcut again because it is still saved on my Mac.
This is gotten way too far and it has become extremely annoying when you need to retype the word "No" 5 times each time you type it (including the writing of this forum post).
    Typical iMessage conversation with me:
    Friend: "Are you free tonight?"
    Me: "№"
    Me: "№*"
    Me: "№****"
    Me: "№ I mean!!**"
Me: "Negative, I am not free tonight"
Any help with fixing this is extremely appreciated!!!
Possible solutions that do not work:
All my devices are running the newest software version as of 21st April 2015, update does not offer solution.
Deleting the shortcut in all my Apple devices at the same time does not work, I have tried that, and deleting them off different devices in different combinations.
Modifying the shortcut does not work, I thought that simply modifying the shortcut would sync the modification, this was not the case, instead the modification was either deleted or made into a new shortcut.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How can I import my keyboard shortcuts from my iPhone to my new MACBOOK pro?

Now I'm guessing that 99% of you don't use this feature on iPhone or Macbook so I'm curous to know who knows the answer
I recruit a lot and have canned texts and emails (which means I usually say the same thing)
in my iPhone I set it up (by going to General, Keyboard, Shortcuts) to have when I type in a certain phrase, it types on something else. FOR EXAMPLE
"randq" would automatically turn into "Random Question, do you know anyone open to making more money?"
I have around 40 of these shortcuts and want to save myself the time manually entering them one by one into my macbook.
I know where these settings ARE but I'm wondering if there's a shorter way to do this?
(Settings are under Language and Text, TEXT"
If you are able to help, that would be awesome!

  • How to import keyboard shortcuts from CS6 to CC?

Every time there's a new version I go through this trying to figure out where the keyboard shortcuts file lives and every time it's hell. This time I've been searching and searching and I can't find a way to do. Why is this so hard? Should this thing happen automacally or at least there could be an option for "import keyboard shortcuts." I can't really use the new Illustrator without my shortcuts. I've looked in the preferences in the Library and in the Applications folders. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    ~peter

Thanks, but I looked there and there's only the default .kys file, not the custom one I saved. I saved the custom keyboards shortcut file but I can't find it anywhere. I think the last time I had to do this it was in Library/Preferences/Application Shortcuts/Adobe or something like that but it's not anywhere it seesm.

  • Moving Keyboard Shortcuts from PPro 5.5 to PPro CS6

Is it possible to move my custom keyboard shortcuts that I made in Premiere Pro  CS 5.5 to Premiere Pro CS 6?
    If so, How?

    I skipped 5.5, but here's the path for 5.0.3

  • A keyboard shortcut from Type tool to Selection tool

I'm in a text box so I cannot use 'Space' +my normal key shortcut to change to the Selection tool. It's a long way to go with the mouse each time I need to do this. Depressing the CMD key changes the cursor to the Selection tool while I hold it down, but letting CMD up leaves me in the Type tool and in the text box, even if I click outside the text box while holding down CMD. In Illustrator I use a shortcut with OPT or CTRL but this does not work in InDesign.
Any ideas? I hope Adobe clears this up since not having a quick way to bounce back from Type tool to Selection tool via the keyboard is a real drag on a 30" screen.

I too use F1 for the Selection Tool and F2 for the Direct Selection Tool. I've also set F3 as the Preview button (previously the W key) and F4 is Scale Tool and F5 is Rotate Tool.
The great thing about assigning these keys to F Keys rather than character keys it means even if you have a cursor flashing in a text frame you can still switch tools without having to deselect the text frame. What prompted me to look into this was when I once noticed a rogue V and A in a text frame on a job I was designing! If it had gone to print with these letters showing I would have been in a lot of bother so I changed it. This shortcut was discussed on an early episode of InDesign Secrets Podcast :-)
I'd certainly recommend changing this potentially problematic shortcut, it's quite easy to to hit the V key when a text frame is live but out of sight on another page and then you have a superfluous character in your artwork.
If only I could remap the zoom tool to the Control key I'd be very happy. Does anyone know how to do that or is it embedded in the structure of the app?

  • How can change keyboard shortcut from windows media player to itunes?, how can change keyboard shortcut from windows media player to itunes?

I have ASUS N55SL (with Windows 7) and my keyboard has music shortcut keys (like play,Stop,...) but work with Windows Media Player I want change this shortcut key to Itunes!

Just import the music into iTunes from wherever it is on your hardrive.

  • The latest version of iTunes prevents my "next/back" keyboard shortcuts from working.  Logitech keyboard.  Any idea how to fix?

Primarily the next song, previous song, stop and play/pause buttons stopped working.

Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different PC. (If you're on a 32-bit Windows system, try to download on a different 32-bit Windows system.) Copy the iTunesSetup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install from the ExHD, thumb or CD-R.) Start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.

  • Assigning a new keyboard shortcut that isn't default

In CS4, I'd like to to assign a keyboard shortcut to the
"Smooth" tool (which comes up when you click pointer.) How can I do
this? When I click on Tools Panel in the Keyboard Shortcut menu, it
isn't an option and it also isn't listed in the Customize Tools
menu. I figuring, if I replace one of the available tools with the
smooth tool (again, not the one associated with pencil, but the one
that appears when you click pointer), I can do it. But how can I
replace or add to the available tools?
    I'm using a mac, tiger 10.11.4
    Thanks

Sorry for such a slow response.  I've been up to my eyeballs in work recently! (not a bad thing).  Thanks Ronin for your help.  I did have a look at that link and there is some useful stuff there.
As it turns out I solved the problem another way.  All I had to do was clear my synced settings and then re-sync!! can you believe that!  Now when I select keyboard shortcuts from the menu the window pops up and I can customize away.  Before, nothing happened when I selected keyboard shortcuts from the drop down menu!
Maybe it's a weird solo bug that only happened to me, I hope no one else suffers this infuriating thing!
    Cheers

  • Photoshop CS6 keyboard shortcuts in PSE 12

Has the structure of the .kys file changed in CS6?  I used to be able to use the keyboard shortcuts from CS5 with my wife's laptop.  We recently went to CS6 on my desktop and PSE 12 on her laptop, and now the keyboard shortcuts that I try to copy from CS6 to PSE not only don't work, but are deleted by PSE as it exits.  I've put an old keyboard shortcuts.psp file that I had from CS5, and it works fine and doesn't get deleted.
If my conclusion that the shortcuts are different and incompatible is correct, is there any workaround?
    I'm using Windows 7.  Thanks!

It looks like the shortcuts from cs6 won't work in pse 12 and they don't work in photoshop cs5 either, so adobe must have changed something.
Anyway, it's probably best to use the keyboard shortcuts from photoshop cs5, since pse 12 is mostly based on the photoshop cs5 code.
This the message one gets in photoshop cs5 when trying to load a keyboard shortcuts file saved out of photoshop cs6.
