Keyboard shortcut "make unconditional"

Out of curiosity, but also out of interest: I'm happy with esc, q, C and esc, q, D for specific conditions, but haven't found a similar shortcut to replace Alt+s, o, a, u for "make selected text unconditional".
Any hints or tips?

Karen:
Do you happen to know if that List Shortcuts plugin is available for FM8?
The installation program does not yet know about FM8. The work-around is to:
- Browse to the FrameMaker installation directory. By default, on a Windows computer this is:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe FrameMaker 8
- In the
maker.ini file, in the
[APIClients] section, add the following line or copy it from your existing 7.2 installation:
Pubs-Tools:ListShortcuts=Standard, ListShortcuts, Pubs-Tools\ListShortcuts.dll, all
- Create a directory named
Pubs-Tools
- Copy
ListShortcuts.dll,
ListShortcuts.ini, and
ListShortcuts.hlp into the
Pubs-Tools directory.
Restart FrameMaker. You should now have a
Pubs-Tools menu. Choose
ListShortcuts
Cheers & hope this helps,

  • Function keys, Volume & Keyboard shortcuts make me sad

As with many of you, I've just upgraded to 10.5, and I'm having infinite problems with volume control.
I'm using one of the new slim apple keyboards (and oh its fine, but besides..) and the volume control is on the F key row at the top (as opposed to over the num pad, and yes I've attempted to just use the buttons above the num pad, but alas, nothing).
The problem I'm having is that I can either have keyboard volume control, OR I can use the other F keys for various other functions and bindings, but not both.
The option for this is (as expected) under *Keyboard & Mouse, Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys*
All I want is volume control and the ability to use the other keys for other applications, even if I had to install a program of some description in order to have this work
The alternative is to find out how to set it up as an actual keyboard shortcuts through *Keyboard & Mouse, Keyboard Shortcuts*, but as volume control has no text, it becomes rather difficult to say what menu title it is.

I have the keyboard hooked up to a MacBook Pro under 10.4.10. Now I can't use the function keys in combination with shift. For instance in Photoshop, the command fill with forground colour (=shift + F5) is not working. How can I fix this?

  • I can no longer use the keyboard shortcuts, 'command  C' and 'command   V'.  Did I inadvertently do something to my keyboard or computer that caused this?  Is there a way to fix it?

You can also check in System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts, make sure that custom shortcuts were not created using those same commands. If ones were, they could be creating a conflict. Step throuogh each of the items in the left list, checking the array presented in the right pane for each.

  • Keyboard shortcuts in Photo CS6 not working correctly.

Keyboard shortcuts are working sporadically. For instance, when using select all, copy, paste shortcuts to copy from one image to another in a different tab it can take 2 presses of the keyboard to get them to work. This also makes actions unuseable.
Using MacPro 2.66 Nehalem 8 core, OS 10.6.8, 32GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 4870
    Have tried:
Adjusting Performance in preferences -currently 25062 memory usage, history states 20, cache levels8, cache level 1024, use graphics processor ticked. Have changed all of these settings with no effect on problem.
Closed all other programs(including all browsers).
    Removed any plug-ins.
Closed flash panels namely mini bridge.
Having to revert to an older version of Photoshop at the moment as dodgy Keyboard shortcuts make CS6 unuseable. Also have a problem with Camera Raw which I have raised in another Discussion that makes it unuseable also.
    Suggestions welcomed.

  • Toggling Between Open Emails -- Keyboard Shortcut

Sometimes I have several emails open at once. The only way I know how to switch between them is to go to the dropdown Window menu. This is a little cumbersome. Is there a keyboard shortcut for toggling between open email windows?
And while I'm at it, is there one for toggling between open Safari windows? I love the Command-TAB way of switching between applications and am looking for something similar.
    Thanks.
    Paul S.

The question is marked as answered, but I don't think it was the answer you wanted. I often have several emails open and want to toggle through them without leaving the keyboard. The Exposé method works, but is not a keyboard shortcut.
Here is how I got it to work:
In System Prefs under Keyboard and Mouse under Keyboard Shortcuts make sure Keyboard Navigation is checked and under that check "Move focus to next window in active application" and then "Command+ tilde" will work!

  • Keyboard shortcut in Leopard for autohide dock toggle not working?

    Hi all,
I have a question about a keyboard shortcut in Leopard.
I've recently started auto-hiding my dock, using the checkbox in system preferences. I find this gives a nice clear screen for most situations, but would like a shortcut to effectivly toggle that checkbox on/off.
I read about command-option-D but this doesn't seem to do anything. I tried killall Dock, but that didn't help.
I found some reference online searching to TextExpander causing problems, but I do not have that installed (couldn't find any reference of it on my machine).
One thing that does work is ctrl-F3 which brings the Dock up from hidden. Only thing is as soon as you click on an application it dissappears again. What I really want is to toggle the auto-hide option on and off with a keyboard shortcut.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks,

go to system preferences->keyboard&mouse->keyboard shortcuts. make sure that the shortcut to auto-hide and show the Dock is enabled and is set to commandoptionD. those are the defaults but maybe yours got changed or disabled for some reason.

  • Disabling a global keyboard shortcut

Apple + M is a global minimize shortcut, but it interferes with my Eudora shortcut where Apple + M is "check mail." Is there a way to disable the global minimize shortcut?
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

You cannot disable the shortcut for Minimize the Window. Because the shortcut is an component from the Applications and is an entry in the Nib files.
But you can make either an new shortcut for the Minimize System wide. Or make for Eudora a new shorcut for check mail or Minimize the Window.
Open the System Preferences. Under Keyboard and Mouse choose the Tab "Keyboard Shortcuts". Then press the "+" sign. Select by Application "All Applications" or "Eudora" and write exact the Name of the Menu entry in "Menu Title".
And in the field "Keyboard Shortcut" make an new shortcut.
When Eudora is an Cocoa Application, it should be listed.

  • How to make a tts text-to-speech keyboard shortcut

    Hi,
How do I make a tts text-to-speech keyboard shortcut
to control the OSX "Speech" available as a contextual menu
when you right-click selected text in Safari, TextEdit and other native apps
    *Speech > Start Speaking*
    *Speech > Stop Speaking*
    I can get this far:
*System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts >*
I have low-vision and need this on as many as possible or all text running on my computer.
Less important: The "Speech" contextual menu is not available right-clicking text in Google Chrome. I could sure use it there too.
    THANKS!

If you want it turned on permanently open Universal Access preferences, click on the Seeing tab, turn on VoiceOver. Click on the VoiceOver Application button for more configuration options.
There's also a shortcut option for TTS in the Speech preferences.

  • Is it possible to make a keyboard shortcut for a specific color for fonts?

I'm a novice InDesign user and these forums have been a great resource, so thank you for your time.
I'm doing a very complicated "text art" project and I'd like to be able to change text colors right from the keyboard.
In Word, one is able to make a keyboard shortcut (to an unused key combination) that would allow you to change text to white, for example and another combination to change it to black, etc.
I'd love to be able to do that in InDesign without having to mouse over to the color swatch or over to a paragraph style with the text color set.
    Again, thank you in advance!

For anyone else who has this problem - I actually found out an easy workaround.
There's another forum that addresses the NumPad issue for MacBooks (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/324960) and I did a modified version for character styles v. paragraph styles per the final comment by Kaj-Ettore.
    ==
    (1) Open text edit and copy the below script (for me it was changing the text to white):
    try{app.selection[0].applyCharacterStyle
    (app.documents[0].characterStyles.item(1),true)}catch(e){}
Watch the number '(1)' in brackets on the last line: This is the Style number according to the Styles listed in the 'Character Styles' Panel of InDesign (following "[None]").
Per my setup, "White" is 1 and "Black" is 2.
    SEE SCREENSHOT:
Decrement the style you'd like to be applied via this script from the styles listed in the InDesign-applet 'paragraph styles'.
*Note - This Workaround only works for specific Documents – since InDesign links Styles with document templates.
    (2)  Save the Script to:
    %InDesign_Install_Folder%\Scripts\Scripts Panel\Samples\JavaScript\Style(%nmb%).jsx
or name the file as you like. You'll have to assign a keyboard-shortcut to this and other files later, so it is wise to choose a common and memorable syntax for naming, e. g. numbers or style-names. (I used Style(White).jsx)
    (3)  Repeat this step for every style you'd like to be applicable via a keyboard shortcut...
    This is my "Black" script:
    try{app.selection[0].applyCharacterStyle
    (app.documents[0].characterStyles.item(2),true)}catch(e){}
    Saved as: Style(Black).jsx
Assign a Shortcut to the Script
    (1)  Open InDesign > Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts > %YourSetOfShortcuts%
    (2)  Select 'Scripts'
    (3)  Choose the first script you've written, e. g. 'style(body).jsx'
    (4)  Create Shortcuts for Standard- and Text-Environment
    (5)  Repeat for any script you've written
    (6)  Done.
This worked perfectly for me and I can now use ONE keyboard shortcut (albeit 3 simultaneous keys) to change from black text to white text.

  • Add keyboard shortcuts to skin to make compliant?

Hi, I am an inexperienced Captivate user, so I would appreciate any and all suggestions.
I have a Captivate 3 file that is basically a narrated PowerPoint show. One or two slides request the user to click on buttons, but the majority of the slides aren't interactive.
To make the presentation compliant, I need to update it using Captivate 4 so that the buttons have keyboard shortcuts, and I think I've figured that out. The problem is that I need the buttons in the skin/player to have keyboard shortcuts, too. Is there a way to edit the skin to include these? Or is there another way to allow non-mouse users to move forward, backward, pause, etc.?
I tried pressing tab to see what would happen, but it only moved through the fields in Internet Explorer. Pressing tab didn't select any of the buttons in the skin.
    Thanks in advance!

It works for me. Perhaps you chose a shortcut key combo that doesn't work (I used ctrl-opt-a).
Make sure you are just using "Average" and you have selected a region to average.

  • How to make a keyboard shortcut for this character: ⌘

I am growing very fond of the Character Palette, but there are some characters I like to use allot, and it's becoming a nuisance opening the whole window just to insert a ⌘. I was thinking maybe there is a way to make a keyboard shortcut for this character, just like option-shift-K creates . I opened the keyboard viewer and was thinking maybe I could drag the character into an empty space to create a combo...but it's not letting me. Is there any way to do this?

This is a feature Apple should definitely add customization to on OS X.
You can make custom keyboard layouts that include any characters you want using Ukelele.

I doubt Apple is going to incorporate this into OS X, but you can suggest it here:

  • Ctrl+= "make font size larger" keyboard shortcut is not working, maybe related to Windows 7?

I changed recently from Windows XP to Windows 7 64bit, and since then the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+= to make "font size larger" is not working anymore. Ctrl+- to make "font size smaller" is working like always. I tried this with LV8.5 and LV2011 and the missing functionality is on both LV-versions. So I wonder if this is related to Windows 7... Or am I missing something?
    Any ideas?
I tried to switch keyboard input language without success. Then searched for menu shortcuts in the LV options, where Ctrl+= is not listed as it is only a keyboard shortcut and not in the menu. I wonder also why the whole font setting is so nestled in LV, why not just having a toolbar...
    Looking forward for any help.

It works for me. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit, but I'm running LabVIEW 8.2, so I can't test this on other versions. Are you sure you don't have some extension installed that's using that keyboard shortcut?
