Keyboard shortcuts for applying styles in Pages 5.0

In Pages '09, you could set a function key as a keyboard shortcut to apply either paragraph or character styles. But I don't see this in Pages 5.0. Have they taken it away or is there another way to do this?
This feature was key for me—it saved me a lot of mouse clicks and drags and made formatting text very easy and consistent. I'll miss it if it's gone, and may even have to keep using the old version of Pages for this reason.

Gone along with 90 other features.
Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder. Use that and review/rate Pages 5 in the App Store and delete or archive it to prevent it from opening .pages files accidentally.

  • Where can I find a list of the keyboard shortcuts for editing a Wiki page, on Windows and Mac?

I tried searching in Help, but I haven't been able to find anything.  I'd like to get a list of the keyboard shortcuts that work while editing a wiki page in the Mac Server Wiki running on Lion.
When accessing Lion Server Wiki from a Mac, some of the usual suspects work: cmd+B for bold, cmd+} to indent, etc.  When accessing the Lion Server Wiki from Windows, though, I can't find an equivalent keyboard shortcut for the indent / unindent.  Where can I find a list of all of them?
    Thanks!

They are also listed in the built-in User Guide accessible directly on the iPhone in Safari.
Find the "iPhone User Guide" bookmark, then go to iPhone at a Glance > Status icons

  • Keyboard shortcuts for CSS styles?

I'm trying to be good and move to CSS-only formatting, but
Dreamweaver makes it hard because there's no way to assign keyboard
shortcuts to user CSS styles, as far as I can tell. It's a quick
key-command or click to align=right but I have to use a squirrelly
menu to assign style=right. Any ideas? I tried Keyboard Maestro but
can't figure out a way to work with Adobe's nonstandard menus.
Using CS3 but for this I might consider using CS4. (I have a
license but reverted due to the awful user interface.)

Feel free to call support and complain about me. It won't do
    much good,
though. I'm not an Adobe employee.

It's not *my* expensive, bug-ridden software. I'm a user just
    like you.
    > I use Dreamweaver to save time. Got that?
Sure. I use Dreamweaver to save time, and I find the UI
    improvements in
CS4 do exactly that - at least for my workflow.

If you want a keyboard command for doing it, submit a feature
    request to
    the development team:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
I suppose having a keyboard command might speed things up,
    depending on
your workflow. But I don't find myself needing to fiddle
    between source
code and Design view, although I do have Split view open most
    of the
time, and find it very efficient to go from one to the other,
particularly with the Related Files feature and Code
    Navigator in
Dreamweaver CS4. The ability to split the screen vertically
    and use Live
View have also made a big difference.
You don't like the new interface. I do. You either work in a
    very
different way from me or haven't taken the time to discover
    the new
    features.

  • How can I make a keyboard shortcut for 'insert footnote' in Pages 09?

I do a lot of accademic work and it is incredibly frustrating not to have a shortcut for one of the most frequent tasks i perform in pages. Please can someone help me?

Menu > Apple > System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts Application Shortcuts > + > Application: Browse to Pages > Menu Title: Footnote > Keyboard Shortcut: hit combination of keys > Add
You will need to restart Pages but should then see it next to your Menu item.

  • What is the keyboard shortcut for extract page?

There used to be a series of keyboard shortcuts for page manipulation (and other) - using acrobat 9 till recently. Now new to Acrobat XI Pro (Windows 8.1). I can see the shortcuts for insert & delete page but not for extract page (and other). Am I missing something? The keyboard shortcuts are a must for speed and a healthy right wrist.
    Thank-you for your time.

There isn't a direct way of doing it, but you can "hack" it using a script. Create a folder-level script with this code:
app.addMenuItem({cName: "MyExtractPages", cUser: "E&xtract Pages", cParent: "Edit",
        cExec: "app.execMenuItem(\"ExtractPages\");", cEnable: "event.rc = (event.target!=null)"});
This will add a new menu item to the Edit menu which you could access using the following keyboard shortcut: Alt+E, X

  • What is the keyboard shortcut for scrolling page down? In Pages, Safari, etc... Just a single page/ screen view, not all the way to the bottom.  Thank you.

Trying to navigate the screen without my mousepad.  I have carpal tunnel and early stage arthritis and cannot repeatedly make the appropriate motions to scroll with two fingers.  Is there a keyboard shortcut for scrolling up and down line by line or page by page?
    Thank you.

Yeah. sorry. those are not correct. ctrl N + P are for home and end line shortcuts. Ctrl V does go down one line.  But CTRL arrow up or down do not work in Safari.  But thank you very much for the attention and the time...
Note from my first post above -- I did not say to use CTRL arrow in Safari:
    For Safari:
Scroll down a line: down arrow
Scroll down a screen: option down arrow
Note from my second post above and from the first link I gave that  Control N, P, and V worked for me in Pages as described in the link and in my post:
The link to shortcuts that I gave abaove includes Control N, P, and V for move down a line, up a line and down a page and those seem to work in Pages.

Nope, I doubt it.  As I said:
I disabled Aero theme, checked font scaling was 100% and rebooted Windows in between all of the steps to no avail.
I've been reading a lot around this and it seems the arrow key problem is a red herring; I think it's just some kind of terminal preferences corruption.

  • Keyboard shortcuts for functions inside paragraph styles panel possible?

I would like to assign keyboard shortcuts for functions inide the paragraph styles panel in PS CS6.
It seems that no option to do this  is exposed - ist this correct?

That's an interesting approach and it made me aware about menu item insertation - but unfortunately none of the suggested works.
Clear overrides when executed by button can work both on selections of text and on complete text blocks, the recorded version of
pressing the button disregards that there's a selection and therefore only works globally. The menu insertation method can not deal
with existing selections either - it's entry is greyed out in the actions panel when portions of the text are selected.

  • Keyboard shortcut for a "preferences" detail setting

Some websites I often use are hard to read in their own colors, so I go to "edit -> preferences -> content -> colors" and uncheck "allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above".
Other websites need this setting checked to display correctly.
Can I establish a keyboard shortcut for this setting?
FF 4.0.1 in both WinXP and Linux

Specifically for that and because it can be changed via the options, you can create a toolbar button to do that.
[http://codefisher.org/toolbar_button/toolbar_button_maker Custom Toolbar Buttons Maker] select "<b>Toggle Page Colors</b>", install, move custom button to toolbar. Toggles preferences, removes some but not all images (loses the entire mozillaZine banner exactly same as the preference). Another button that can be included is "<b>Page Fonts</b>", which toggles page fonts between your colors and the web page's colors. Another button that may be needed to read some pages is "<b>Toggle Styles</b>" to toggle CSS styling off or back on.
Also see page where the above came from, for other suggestions:

  • Change keyboard shortcuts for zoom

    Hi
When looking at the keyboard shortcuts for MAC, the 100% zoom is down as command alt '0', yet it is showing in the dropdown list as 'n'?
Is there a way of changing the shortcuts. Previously the 100% zoom was simply command (apple) '0', which is now fit to page.
Can anyone help with how to change the short cuts please?
    Cheers

    See http://forums.adobe.com/message/4947053?tstart=0
There was a change to a bizarre shortcut of Fn+n for 'View > 100%' (equivalent to the previous 'View > Actual Pixels' which had shortcut Cmd+1) when Retina compatibility was introduced a few months ago.

  • Keyboard shortcut for printing _current page_ only in Reader 8?

    Hi there,
I'm working through a large PDF-file, and need to print individual pages while reading through the whole of this PDF file. I don't think that there is a keyboard shortcut for printing _current page_ only.
I'm aware that CTRL-P gets you to the print menu, but then I always have to opt for clicking on "current page" AND "ok"... With about 50 pages out of a 100-page document this is cumbersome.
If there isn't such a keyboard shortcut, could Adobe consider giving its users the option to customised shortcuts, and implement this option of printing a current page only?
    Many thanks,
    Pli

    no it doesn't
    it just changes font size

  • Keyboard Shortcut for comments

I have a question and something to share.
Turns out it's pretty easy to add a keyboard shortcut for
adding ColdFusion comments (mostly so that you don't have to click
on the comment dropdown and select the ColdFusion one, that's 2
clicks). You can add a keyboard shortcut to that Insert Comment
command. But by default it inserts HTML comments. So if you want it
to do something different you can modify this file: C:\Program
    Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver
    CS4\configuration\Objects\Text\Comment.js
The bad news is, I can't find a way to add a shortcut to
Remove Comment. Does anyone know how to do that?

    Jon
Not that I know of but you can make your own keyboard shortcuts for anything that is in a menu somewhere:
+System Preferences > Hardware > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard Shortcuts > Application Keyboard Shortcuts > All Applications > click the little plus sign under the window > Application: > Other > browse to Applications/iWork/Pages > Menu Title > Show Comments (type exactly including U&lc) > hit cmd shift c (or whatever you want)+
Since the shortcut works on the literal text, it will not toggle on and off. You will have to have another shortcut for +Hide Comments.+
