Keyboard shortcuts for functions inside paragraph styles panel possible?

I would like to assign keyboard shortcuts for functions inide the paragraph styles panel in PS CS6.
It seems that no option to do this  is exposed - ist this correct?

That's an interesting approach and it made me aware about menu item insertation - but unfortunately none of the suggested works.
Clear overrides when executed by button can work both on selections of text and on complete text blocks, the recorded version of
pressing the button disregards that there's a selection and therefore only works globally. The menu insertation method can not deal
with existing selections either - it's entry is greyed out in the actions panel when portions of the text are selected.

  • Keyboard shortcuts for applying styles in Pages 5.0

In Pages '09, you could set a function key as a keyboard shortcut to apply either paragraph or character styles. But I don't see this in Pages 5.0. Have they taken it away or is there another way to do this?
This feature was key for me—it saved me a lot of mouse clicks and drags and made formatting text very easy and consistent. I'll miss it if it's gone, and may even have to keep using the old version of Pages for this reason.

Gone along with 90 other features.
Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder. Use that and review/rate Pages 5 in the App Store and delete or archive it to prevent it from opening .pages files accidentally.

  • Photoshop CS5 Keyboard shortcut for 2up view?

In older version, window > arange > tile, gave me side by side tile of windows. In CS5 it defaults to above and below. I know I can simply click the Arange Documents and then 2up but I use this very frequent and would like to have a simple keyboard shortcut for it. Can this default be changed if not...? I can not find the 2up layout item in the keyboard shortcuts and have tried setting up a action but can not seem to get that to work. Can anyone help? I use this all day to compare images and all of my images fit best side by side. Help?

i dont want to use the application frame either just to get 2-up functionality. I dont think users should be forced to use a differnt workspace. the app frame takes up space and doesnt even really work correctly when you move panels around. either way it would be great to have the same view optoins in the menus that are now exclusive to the app frame. if you feel strongly about it - post a request on adobe's new feedback site. this is wehre they are mostly listening to users requests now.

  • How do I change the keyboard shortcut for Cycle through open documents in PS CC for Mac?

Sorry to bug the community with such a seemingly inconsequential task, but I am seriously tired of using the awkward default keyboard shortcut for cycling through open docs in PS.  I'd like to change it to what I am used in in Chrome, which is Cmd+Option+[left] or {right} arrow keys.  I noticed this is not a command listed in the in keyboard shortcuts, for whatever reason.  Where on Earth can I change this?
If it is not possible to do it by default, is there a plug-in or a change to the code that will allow this basic functionality?
    Thanks again guys and gals!

As far as I know, you can't. It's "hard wired" in.  Not even Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts is allowed  to change it.
However I did find this tip:
Anyway i never found tabs in Adobe application useful, instead i prefer the old school method: simply switch off tabs feature via illustrator/ preferences/ user interface/ open documents as tabs. Then in Mac preferences panel, under keyboard, just search for the “focus on next application window” field (under menu, keyboard and text) and assign a shortcut if the default option doesn't fit you. And there is now you can easily switch between open documents!.
The best part of this is that it can be used in all mac applications, not only Adobe ones. And remember, if you want this working on Indesign, Photoshop, etc be aware of first switch off the tab features so that the system could “see” multiple documents opened not only one single tabbed document.

  • Keyboard shortcut for Control+F2, F, Enter

    Hello,
I am trying to create a keyboard shortcut that would be available to all Applications deliveres the same result as these keystrokes:
    1. Control + F2 (move focus to menu bar)
    2. F (moves focus to the File menu bar menu)
    3. Enter or down arrow (Displays the File menu)
WHat I am looking to do is create the Windows equivalent of alt+F (displays the contents of the File menu)
I have created a System Preferences Keyboard Shortcut for All Applications that has "File" as the description and ^F has the Shortcut...this doesn't work. Is there a way to assign a shortcut to display the menu bar File menu in its open state?

    ReidRik_Von
    Here's one approach to try...
    1) Open System Preferences > Universal Access and make sure "Enable access for assistive devices" is checked.
    2) Highlight and copy the block of code below and paste it into your AppleScript Script Editor (located inside your Applications > AppleScript folder):
    *tell application "System Events"*
    *keystroke tab using command down*
*set theApp to name of (first process whose frontmost is true)*
    *tell process theApp*
*click menu bar item "File" of menu bar 1*
    *end tell*
    *end tell*
Choose Save As from the Script Editor's File menu, File Format: application, leaving the Options unchecked. Give the script application a name (Display File Menu, e.g.), and press Save.
    3) To assign a keyboard shortcut, you might consider downloading and installing the excellent Spark program.
From Spark's File menu, set up a New Hot Key to launch an Application, in this case the application being your newly created AppleScript application. When the new System HotKey sheet drops down, hit the Choose button and navigate to the location where your new AppleScript application was saved. Select it and press Open. Click inside the editable Shortcut field to make it active, and on your keyboard keystroke Option (alt), plus the letter "f." Then press Create.
Start the Spark Daemon by selecting it from the File menu, or by pressing the Stark Spark Daemon button on the Spark panel itself, and then quit Spark altogether. The Spark Daemon and your enabled keyboard shortcut will run as a hidden process, using a minimal amount of RAM.
    It worked for me...
    Good luck!

  • Keyboard shortcuts for cropping not working

iPhoto '11 (9.3.1) cropping shortcuts not working.
Pressing shift while dragging does not disable the "Contrain" setting when using preset sizes. Nothing happens.
What are we supposed to "drag vertically" or "horizontally" in a preset crop size that makes iPhoto switch between portrait or landscape constrain setting?
Having to go to the "Crop" drop-down menu to click-switch contraints between portrait and landscape is very tiring - these shortcuts don't work unless someone can please tell me what I'm doing wrong.
Disable constrain setting in crop tool when selecting an area
Press the Shift key while dragging
Switch between portrait and landscape constrain settings in crop tool when selecting an area
Drag vertically for portrait crop or drag horizontally for landscape crop

    Hi -
In order to support keyboard shortcuts for the Tag Panel we needed to implement a bit of a unique method. The Tag Panel itself does indeed need to have focus in order for it's keyboard shortcuts to activate. The core reason for this is to remove the potential for keyboard shortcut conflicts between the rest of the app the those stored within a Tag template. Remember, you can share Tag Templates across system and with other users. and each template can contain it's own shortcut definitions. The only way to prevent conflicts is to enforce the focus rule.
the recommended workflow is to open a clip and set focus to the Tag Panel. From the Tag Panel all of the Transport Controls (JKL, SPACE BAR for play/pause, etc.) will still function when the Tag Panel has focus. So you should still be able to review your clips and apply Tags via shortcut.
Let me know how this works. We are always looking to improve workflows so if you come up with some improvement ideas please share.

  • Keyboard shortcuts for tags not working

I'm working on a WWII documentary and using Prelude to assign lots of markers, including tags for historical figures who appear very frequently in the WWII newsreels such as "Rommel" and "Hitler"
Not sure why, but when I assign any keyboard shortcut for a custom tag, the shortcut doesn't work, please see here:
I decided to assign "3" for the Hitler tag, but any shortcut I assign for any tag, just doesn't work. Yet it seems that you can assign keyboard shortcuts even for tags, and the Prelude help manual says you can:

  • Keyboard shortcuts for IC webclient CRM5.0

    Hi,
following the procedure on help.sap, i am trying to active the keyboard shortcuts for IC Webclient screen.
here are the steps i followed, but i could not see any shortcuts working....
    what am i missing?

    Activate and define shortcuts
    i        Activate shortcuts
By default, shortcut keys are deactivated. If you want to use shortcuts, you must first activate them by choosing Default Navigation Bar.
    ii        Change shortcuts
You can define your own shortcut keys by deleting the key that appears in column Shortcut and entering the key of your choice.
    iii        Display shortcuts in application
If you want the shortcut keys to be displayed in the application, choose Show Keyboard Navigation Shortcuts in Menu.
what i am looking for is keyboard shortcuts like, F4 or F8 we use in CRM GUI, these will be for use by end users (agents of IC) for creating order entries and other functions....
    Thanks in adv,
    points will be rewarded

    Hello,
Maybe a silly remark but if you define shortcut "K" for entry X you can use the shortcut by pressing ESC + K. In other words, you should always use the ESC in combination with the choosen shortcut.
    Hope this solves your problem!
    Rewards points if useful,

  • CS6 will not save keyboard shortcut for dust & scratches filter

I am running Photoshop CS6 with all updates on a Windows 8 system.  I have several keyboard shortcuts set up that all work fine but when I assign a keyboard shortcut for the dust & scratches filter it will work until I close Photoshop - when I then open Photoshop again this shortcut is gone but all my other shortcuts remain.
I have tried going back to the default keyboard shortcuts and then adding just the shortcut for dust & scratches (I have tried ctrl-F8 and several others) and then closing Photoshop and opening it again with the same results.  I was able to add back all of my other shortcuts and they work fine.
For some reason I can assign a keyboard shortcut to anything except the dust & scratches filter.
Can anyone shed some light on this problem?
    Thanks

I had a chance to try the script on a windows 8 machine running photoshop cs6 13.01 in both photoshop cs6 versions 32 and 64 bit and shortcuts seem to stay between restarts.
If in photoshop cs6 you go to File>Scripts you can see that the script is actually listed?
When i saved the script out of ExtendScript Toolkit i named it Dust and Scatches.jsx.
Did you run ExtendScript Toolkit as an administrator before saving the script?
(right click on the ExtendScript Toolkit shortcut (tile) and choose Run as Administrator)
    Saved to:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Presets\Scripts
    (cs6 32 bit)
    and
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Presets\Scripts
    (cs6 64 bit)
Another possibilty if you can't get the script to work is using an action (Filter>Dust and Scratches) and assigning a function key for the shortcut.

  • Change keyboard shortcut for "Find"

The default keyboard shortcut for the "find" function is Cmd-Opt-F. As you know, for virtually every other Mac app (if not all Mac apps), the shortcut for "find" is simply Cmd-F. In iTunes, though, Cmd-F turns the visualiser full-screen mode on and off. I never use the visualiser, and decades of Mac use have hard-wired my fingers for Cmd-F to be "find." I know that there is a method in System Preferences by which to change or assign associations between drop-down menu items and keyboard shortcuts, but there is no menu item for "find" so that method seems like a dead end.
Is there a way to replace Cmd-Opt-F with Cmd-F in iTunes?
    Help, please!!!

to be quite honest i dont no how exactly to do this,
i just know it can be done. i have had no problem
opening .plist files in vi-make sure you are in root
    account for system files.
They (the .plist files) don't seem particularly readable in vi -- they seem to contain a lot of binary content. In earlier versions of OS X they were plain text and easily edited.....
    Solaris huh? how powerful
is that? i dont know much about solaris . . . . like
    to try it though. recommendations?
It's a more "traditional" Unix, meaning that it's very powerful, fairly bulletproof, very configurable, and pretty obtuse if you're not familiar with it. I like my Mac better!

  • Redefining default keyboard shortcuts for dashboard, exposé, etc.

    Hi,
I would like to redefine the keyboard shortcuts for the Dashboard, Dock, and Exposé functions, i.e. I don't want these functions to be bound to the f8-f11 keys. I can redefine the shortcuts manually using the Keyboard pane of the System Preferences, but there are two problems. The first is that the shortcuts for these four items are reset whenever the computer is restarted (my changes to the other keyboard shortcuts are maintained). Is there a way to permenantly change these shortcuts? The second problem is that I am not able to change the keyboard shortcuts for the "slow" versions of these shortcuts accessed by using the shift key.
Basically, I want to be able to use f8-f11 and shift + f8-f11 as keyboard shortcuts in other applications. I'd like to assign the Dashboard, Dock, and Exposé commands to be command + f8-f11 and shift + command + f8-f11.
    Thanks.
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.1)

Does it hold if you change in the Dashboard&Exposé preference pane? You should be able to at least set the Cmd+F#, not sure if it will work for the slow open.
For more direct control, see this site
    http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/tips/remapfunctionkeys.html
The Powerbook is more limited in that it doesn't have the F13,F14,F15 keys, but editing the com.apple.symbolichotkeys.plist will give you direct control of the hotkey assignments.

  • Is it possible to create a keyboard shortcut for "Export book to PDF"? (Cannot find it in the Keyboard Shortcuts window.)

I'd like to create a keyboard shortcut for the "Export Book to PDF" command on the Books panel menu, but I simply can't find that command in Keyboard Shortcuts. After not finding it in what seemed the logical place (Keyboard Shortcuts > Product Area: Panel Menus > Book), I've looked through all the Product Areas listed on the dropdown menu -- but it seems I must be missing something.
What do I need to do / where do I need to look to assign a keyboard shortcut for this command?

Sorry, I agree that that is missing in action. I don't know of a workaround unless someone has written a script. Scripts can be called with keystrokes.

  • Keyboard shortcut for Compare Documents (or configurable keyboard shortcuts)

    Hi,
I'm guessing the ability to configure Keyboard Shortcuts as one can in other Adobe applications is coming soon to Acrobat (the software release cycles haven't quite synched up yet), but if there are no plans for this, I would appreciate a Keyboard Shortcut for a function I use very frequently: Compare Documents.
    Thanks much,
    Adam

If you go to system prefs - keyboard & mouse - keyboard shortcuts you can set a shortcut for anything that is in the mail menus.
click the + at bottom left to add one, select mail from the applications drop down, then type in the exact name of the mail menu item you want a shortcut for eg :Add Hyperlink . Then find a shortcut combo that isn't in use by something else & there you are.
I prefer the edit link, so's you get a neat link, rather than the (sometimes) 3 line url.
checking the way mail works while interested in another post
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=367990&tstart=0
we've noticed that mail doesn't send rtf that outlook on an exchange server likes
unless you not only enable rtf, but also actually make some alteration that really requires rtf. That's to say a different font,a larger font, italics, a signature in italics, a colour etc.
The fact that your composed message displays in arial 48pt (for example) doesn't cut it - it'll still be sent as plain unless you do one of the above. Making a change & reversing it works too.

  • Keyboard shortcut for cropping (Acrobat XI)

Hi. I have a minor question about the cropping feature in Acrobat XI.
In the previous version (X), the keyboard shortcut for crooping PDF pages is Ctrl+Shift+T. However, when I try this combination in the new XI version, it brings up a dialog asking me "where to insert a blank page." According to the help PDF file on Adobe, however, this latter feature should have the shortcut of Ctrl+Shift+Q.
I'm currently using the Chinese - Traditional language version of Acrobat, and the help PDF file I referred to above is also the version in this language. I'm not sure if it occurs in other versions, such as the English language, but I do not expect keyboard shorcuts like this to be altered.
Just something to blame: I really miss the old interface (prior to & including 9), where all the features are accessible on the drop-down menus above. That's also where I learnt the shourcuts - because they follow the titles of the items. It's kind of annoying if I have to press the "crop" button on the right panel and double-click on the page to bring up the dialog. I'm more used to cropping pages by entering edges manually, so that all the pages are exactly the same size. Now I cannot even call up the dialog directly with the supposed-to-be keyboard shortcut in XI.
    Sincerely,
    Ryan

    Hi Dan,
"Save a Copy" is Adobe Reader.
It is not associated with Acrobat Professional's "File" drop-down.

  • Keyboard shortcut for absolute references ($)?

Anyone know of a keyboard shortcut for cycling through the absolute cell reference types, just like Excel can with F4?
P.S. I wish formulas would have a "tooltip" help under them for their arguments without having to open up the Functions dialog box.
