Keyboard shortcuts to get at the start/end of the line

Hi everyone!
I'm looking for a keyboard shortcut in Numbers that will select the cell at the start of a line or its end, not only moving the screen. But there is no mention of such a shortcut in the user's guide. Did I miss something ?
Also, is there something similar for a column ?
Thanks

Hi TheMoose,
I've looked in Help > Keyboard Shortcuts, User guide, and the Numbers 291 page PDF file for those shortcut keys but cannot find them.
Let's hope someone smarter than I will jump in to assist you.
Sincerely,
RicD

  • Keyboard Shortcut to Get Home

I have discovered that pressing Shift Command - H in iTunes will take me from my iTune's listings to the iTunes Home Page (this shortcut doesn't appear to be listed in Apple's online reference to iTunes keyboard shortcuts).
Now I'm wondering if anyone knows a keyboard shortcut to get from the iTune Store back to my iTunes listings?

Going from 10.5 to 10.6 is not removing functionality, it is adding functionality.
Are you using 10.6.x and can't use that command to get to the search field?
If so, try checking the Keyboard Shortcuts in Keyboard System Prefs and see if you've somehow got cmd+opt-F mapped to something else.

  • Is there a shortcut to get to the end of a very long list of music?

Hello, I couldn't find this in the threads, so hope it hasn't been covered. I have a lot of music loaded, no photos. The problem is that every time I select "Songs", "Albums" or whatever in the menu, I start at the top as they are arranged alphabetically, and it is an awfully long way down. I am getting tired fingers trying to get down to S or further, is there a way either to change the order sometimes so that Z comes up first, as one can do in iTunes, or alternatively a quick shortcut to get to the end of the rainbow?
Thank you to some clever person.
I originally posted this in the "connecting to Windows" forum, sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for your reply, I did know about the speed affecting how fast the list scrolled, but it isn't a very good system, very hit or miss to try and stop at or even close to the right place, I just end up at the very end all the time. Obviously it's the best there is. What the iPod needs is a search facility, and a way to order songs according to different fields, as one can do in iTunes.
    Dream on..........

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to activate / deactivate the built in mic?

Is there a keyboard shortcut to activate / deactivate the built in mic?

Ah somewhat confusing. Your question seemed to indicate you were looking for a way to disable the mic, not that it wasn't working with some apps.
Have you tried any of the Apple apps, Garage Band or Dictation? Do they work? If the input volume indicator under the mic in  System Preferences is moving in response to your voice then the problem is not that the mic is disabled or muted, the sound is getting into the system.
Does the Input Volume move while you have one of the non-working apps opened? Have you installed any 3rd party sound apps or kernel extensions?
Are the mic settings in Audio MIDI setup 44100.0 HZ and 2ch-24 bit?
I would start by seeing if the mike works with one of the apps I mentioned above or download something like Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder to test it out.

  • Flash CS5: Is there a keyboard shortcut to move to the next keyframe?

I know there are keyboard shortcuts to move to the next and previous frames -- "." and "," but they're not really what I'm referring to. Also, these keys don't necessarily move to the next and previous frames, rather it just seems to move the red playhead instead of the blue highlighted box (which represents the current frame). This is something I'm also confused about with this keyboard shortcut.
I would like to know though, if there is a keyboard shortcut to move to the next keyframe (each frame that begins with a dot). Thanks for your help.

While I am not quite sure what you mean with
"each frame that begins with a dot"
you can use jsfl to program your own macros/shortcuts
In your case start on page 575 of this document

  • Keyboard Shortcut To Get Contextual Menu

Does anyone know a way to configure a keystroke to pop up the contextual menu on the selected item instead of control-clicking?
I'm trying to eliminate as much use of the mouse as possible when interacting with my Mac.
    Thanks

There actually is an answer to this--sort of. I presume you have already started investigating the System Prefs section on Keyboard & Mouse, Keyboard Shortcuts and turned on the Full Keyboard Access so you can navigate with the Keyboard.
There is in addition the Universal Access pref pane. In the Mouse section you can turn on Mouse Keys--and Control-5 is a control-click and will bring up the contextual menu. Use System Prefs Help, search on Mouse Keys for more info.
Just fooling around with this a little bit but couldn't really get the hang of moving the mouse around--it kept "popping back" to the beginning spot rather than staying somewhere (among other problems). And I couldn't figure out how to get it to work with keyboard access either. There's probably more info about this somewhere.

  • What is the keyboard shortcut to move to the next sheet in Numbers.

What is the keyboard shortcut on a Macbook Pro to move to the next sheet in the Numbers application. Based on my search of the internet, I have tried fn+command+arrow up, and it does not work. I have tried every other combo I could think of or that was suggested on the internet, but to no avail. Is there a keyboard shortcut if just using the keyboard of a MacBook Pro?

There use to be a shortcut key, but I think they killed it with the last update. I haven't been able to find one that works. Hopefully someone here can settle this.

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to move from the bookmark pane to the PDF pane?

I create a lot of bookmarks for easy referencing. Creating a bookmark is easy, with the press of Ctrl+B.  But once you are in the bookmark pane and done with it, there doesn't seem to be a keyboard shortcut to come back to the PDF pane. I always have to resort to the  mouse. If I can perform the entire workflow - create bookmark, edit bookmark name in the bookmark pane and come back to the main PDF pane - without lifing my fingers off the keyboard, it will really save a lot of time.

  • Keyboard-shortcut to toggle between the shutdown options?

Is there a keyboard-shortcut to toggle between the shutdown options? On SnowLeopard control-option-command-eject does the trick to shutdown (Mac@work), but on Moutain Lion it switches me to the loginscreen.
I found that the shortcut in ML is control-eject (with a popup), but haven't found how to switch between the button's on the popup.
The popup suggests restart - go to sleep - cancel - shutdown.
    Spacebar does nothing.
    thx in advance,

  • What is the keyboard Shortcut to go to the last frame or end of a clip?

I used to have this shortcut set up, but I reformatted my mac and now I can't find it anywhere. I've searched the forums and can't find it, and yes, I looked at the help and looked at the manual. I've also went to Tools->Keyboard Layout and went through every keyboard shortcut listed. It is probably staring me right in the face!
The closest I can find is the "goto next edit".
I do a lot of photo montages and had this shortcut set up so I could double clip the photo on the timeline, set my first keyframes and then shortcut to the end of the photo and set my last keyframes so I can do my "Ken Burns" effects. I actually had set a macro on my mouse to simulate the keyboard shortcut.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks

yes it is Michael, but our poster gave particular criteria where he loads a timeline instance of a clip in to the viewer and then wants to navigate to the first and last frame in the timeline instance of that clip ... which is in effect the in and the out point, hence Shift I and Shift O

  • How do I set  keyboard shortcut for 'Get Mail'?

Went to system preferences - keyboard - shortcuts - App shortcuts and added Mail.app
    Get Mail        cmd  G
However, it doesn't work.  It just makes a nasty noise when I'm in mail and use the shortcut.

The command is Get New Mail. It already has a keyboard shortcut, Shift-Command-N. Command-G is already used for Find Next (i.e., find the next occurrence of a find text).
