Keyboard skipping first keys
Hi,
I have a problem with my macbook's keyboard on snow leopard. If the keyboard is idle for a while and i try to type something - then a few first characters are ignored. Windows, installed on the same macbook, handles keyboard with no problems.
I did some research and found it was a common problem, suggesting to download apple's keyboard firmware update (firmware? why? this is obviously osx's fault), but, obviously, the firmware is already installed so the installer simply tells me that and quits.
So dear people. Why does windows handle mac hardware a lot better than the "world's most advanced OS" itself? OK that was a retorical question
So does anyone have the same issue? I've also tried clearing nvram.
Thanks for your post:
I have had this same problem since upgrading from Tiger to Leopard in early 2009. After the keyboard is inactive for a few minutes it seems to go to sleep. Sometimes only the first 1 or 2 keystrokes are missing, but more frequently the keyboard remains unresponsive until I lightly run my fingers left and right across the keyboard a few times. Kind of like a piano player running up and down the notes....ha-ha. Then simply backspace over the mess and begin typing.
I have tried everything posted to date (Updating Firmware, Removing Battery, Stand on my head facing East....but no luck) It does not seem that Apple can or is even willing to provide a fix.
I thought upgrading to Snow Leopard might be it, but now I guess I'll save the $29.

Wireless Keyboard Skips First Letter on PC - Windows
Hi,
I have an apple keyboard that I use with my ipad. I am also trying to use it with my PC running windows 7. It works well, however if I haven't typed for a short while, even for a minute or so; it does not recognice the first letter of the first word. It is really annoying, any clues as to how I can fix it?
Thanks,
AlexHi,
Thanks for this. It isn't the computer though, as it will happen very quickly. For example I can type in a web address, then look up to read the web page for 20 seconds or so, then if I type again it will miss the first key stroke.
I am starting to get used to typing the first letter twice!
I can see that it is a widely reported issue with Apple Macs, but I can't find a fix for Windows. I am keen not to have to buy a new keyboard!

How to skip first record while inserting data from a flat file to BW system
Hi Experts,
In my project we have to upload flat file into a BW system. I have written a program and it is working fine.
Now we have got another requirement. The flat file will have a header record (first row). While uploading the flat file we have to skip this record. How I can do so?
The code is as below:

Problems with SKIP FIRST Screen when calling a transaction variant
Hi,
I have a transaction variant of VA02 that suppresses the display of the pricing button on the conditions screen. I have created a variant transaction for called ZA02 which calls this variant of VA02.
In my program I have coded the following :-
SET PARAMETER ID 'AUN' FIELD VBELN.
SET PARAMETER ID 'VPO' FIELD POSNR.
CALL TRANSACTION 'ZA02' AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN.
I would have expected the program to display the second screen of VA02 but it displays the first screen and when I hit return key the second screen is then displayed.
I don't think I need VPO setting but when I code
SET PARAMETER ID 'AUN' FIELD VBELN.
SET PARAMETER ID 'VPO' FIELD POSNR.
CALL TRANSACTION 'VA02' AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN.
VA02's second screen is displayed
Any help as to how to Skip this first screen with ZA02 would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
RousYes you are right Reg thanks for that.
But it appears that VA02 doesn't require it setting anyway. I changed the PID to APO and indeed I've even commented the line out, but my program goes to the second screen when calling VA02 but stays on the first screen when calling ZA02 . -
Call Transaction Skip First Screen does not work
I want to use 'Call Transaction' to execute the transaction /sapapo/scc_tl1 in Change Mode. I want to skip the first screen. I have added 'and skip first screen' to the CALL TRANSACTION but it still stops on the first screen. The first screen has three buttons: Display, Change and Create. The function key assigned to Change is F6. What is the code to select the F6 key so the first screen can be bypassed.
Thanks and best regards,

First key pressed doesn't work?
Strange, but lately, I would say about 85% of the time, the first key I hit on my keyboard doesn't work. It doesn't matter what key, letter or number, it doesn't work. I'll look up at what I've typed and the first letter is always missing. It's turning into a huge nuisance and I don't think it's me not pressing hard enough or something silly like that, because it happens so very often and I certainly am not changing the way I type for the last 30 years or so.
Any ideas what could be causing it? It's as if it takes a second for the keyboard to realize it's being used and by then, I've typed on by.
I'm using the standard Apple keyboard that came with the G5, but it's not the original. This one I've had for about a year and a half.
tia.I had your issue on two Macs for over a year. A combination of the following cleared it up for me;
Try using Disk Utility to do a Disk Repair, as shown in this link, while booted up on your install disk.
You could have some directory corruption. Let us know what errors Disk Utility reports and if DU was able to repair them.
Then I Repaired Permissions in DU using the version on your hard drive.
Then I downloaded the
Combo Update, yours would be the 10.5.4 Combo
You can apply it right over the one you have now with no trouble--use the link, not Software Updates version.
Repaired Permissions and made sure all the other updates for my Mac's were up to date.
Then I went further with it, and used a utility you may not have.
I used and would recommend DiskWarrior.
After all these actions the issue I had (yours) disappeared. Some here have said one of the recent updates dealt with this agravating condition, and if so, thank you Apple!
I feel my tips are what fixed it for me. I was a big contributor to two enormous threads on this problem, and have read every post on the subject.
Hope this helps.

Apple wireless keyboard misses first letter in some words
When I am typing, particularly in Word 2011, with my Apple Wireless Keyboard, it frequently does not type the first letter of a word. I have searched and can find no resolution to this problem. I have messed with Accessibility but that is all turned off. The only other bluetooth device is my mouse.
Hi,
Thanks for this.

First Key Entry Doesn't register
Sometime after upgrading to Tiger, my 17" Powerbook G4 began to not register the first key I press when filling in an online form (login, password, etc etc) as well as some other times .....though I notice it mostly on online forms. I'd say it does this 60% of the time or more, so obviously some of the time the first key I hit actually registers. The second key pressed always registers but this sure is irritating to remember to look for all the time.
Does anyone have a clue what is causing this and what the remedy might be? Is it a software or hardware problem? (Note: when it happens it doesn't matter what key on the keyboard I press ......including up/down etc etc.)

I have exactly the same problem too. I first noticed it after updating to 10.4.3. I've tried everything and while it seems to go away momentarily, it always comes back in a short while. It's really quite annoying. I have considered doing a wipe and clean install, but decided to check the discussion groups before undertaking such drastic action. Obviously, 10.4.4 and 10.4.5 did nothing to remedy the problem. I've also looked around at french sites to see if there is any mention of a similar problem, but have come up empty-handed thus far.
I'm glad to know it's not just me!
Thanks

Call tranasaction with skip first screen in ecc6
Hi,
We are doing upgrade from 4.7 to ecc 6. We are getting an error while running a report( The addition "AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN" can't be used with "CALL TRANSACTION .. USING". ) in ecc6. This is not showing error in 4.7. Call transaction with skip first screen is fine in 4.7. But it is throwing an error in ecc6.
Could anybody provide me the pointers to rectify this error.
Regards,
RameshHi
Did you pass all the mandatory field values to the calling transaction , Because when you use this addition you need to pass all the mandatory field values then only it works fine. Check out whether you are passing all the mandatory field values.

Skipping first view of a Web Dynpro Application
Hi,
I have an entrance screen to a WebDynpro Component on which the user has to enter a value for an input field and select one of the processing modes( Create, Delete, Change) for this object. There are some input checks and some data are filled for the second screen when the user fills in the input field and presses one of the buttons on the screen. Now i want to open this functionality with an API to a SAPGUI based application and I would like to skip the first screen when the user gives the value of the input field and the processing mode(Display, Create or Change) on the screen. Is it possible to program a kind of CALL TRANSACTION ... SKIP FIRST SCREEN with WebDynpro applications and navigate to the second screen automatically with triggering the filling of data and checks on first screen with displayigng it?Thanks.

While Pressing the button i want to skip first screen in standard screen.
Hello All,
I need to create a z Program and call a screen variant of a standard transaction in it.
I am calling a screen variant of transaction PA70 to hide some of the fields of the screen.
Also the first screen is supressed.
My requirement is while pressing back button it should not come on the first screen.
while if i am doing the same thing with Transaction PA20 it is not coming back to first screen.
How can i supress this first screen while coming back?
Regards.Hi,
Use:
"set al the field values on the initial screen of the transaction and then use
CALL TRANSACTION '<t-code>' AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN.
Now you will be navigated to second screen of the transaction, when you click, you will be navigated to your program selection screen.
Hope this helps you.

Call transaction and skip first screen
Hi,
I have a little but I think difficult problem
I have a selection screen and after that I call my dnypro. In this dynpro I can open a dynpro which looks like a popup where I have the possibility to call the same transaction with other input paramters.
the problem is when I make call transaction and want to go back I see the pop up dynpro which calls the transaction. so how can I close this popup dynpro by calling again transaction?I think I can't eyplain it.
Following. I have:
call transaction trans: selection screen calls dynpro 100, in dynpro 100 button with dynpro 200 with starting parameters.
dynpro 200 calls again transaction trans with skip first screen.
now I have displayed again dynpro 100 with new values. When I now want to go back I can see dynpro 200 which called the transaction. So how can I achieve this that dynpro 200 isn't shown when I go back ? -

so i used my code like this and checked twice and i found i have value in L_PERNO and id is: EHS00PERSONID.
i have a value in L_PERNO.
parameter id of the tcode field is : EHS00PERSONID
set parameter id 'EHS00PERSONID' field L_PERNO.
CALL TRANSACTION 'ZEDIT' AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN .
but it does not set the value... what am i missing still to get it done can i have some input pls.
thanks a lot in advance,
pasala.Hi Pasala,
You have done everything right and your program will work with simple addition.
Just add the statement below in your transaction 'ZEDIT' in PBO of screen on which mandatory field exist.
get parameter id 'EHS00PERSONID' field 'XXX.'
where XXX is the name of mandatory field on the screen.
