Keyboard slow., double typing

Also freezes and offers options for vowels. Need tto get rid of this. Anyone know whats going on? Thanx

Update:
I went through every setting for every app.  Remember the power issue with os5?  I had turned location services for Safari off. I turned it back on and i dont seem to get the vowel thing or the double letters, but the keyboard is still sluggish and falls behind my typing.
Any other suggestions?  Im thinking it might be an os issue?

  • Keyboard double typing letters

clicking letters like "i" o "d" on screen appear "id" or typing "s" it appears "lS". While clicking "Delete" button, it cancel the previous letter and substituite it with "p"!!!

Since I did the last update the double typing has startede on my Classic.  It's just with "0" now but I have no doubt it will get worse.  This was a big issue with my Q10 and I sent it back several times.  However I now understand that it is in fact a software issue.  Blackberry really needs to make this a priority.  I am on BB so I can type up a storm in emails, texts, etc just like everyone else with little error.  I cannot afford the time it takes to go back and fix extra letters....Bb can you hear us??? FIX IT or at least address it! Obviously a huge issue!

  • Mavericks slow when typing non-English

Days ago I wrote that Mavericks is very slow when typing fast. And it still is slow. Untill you use other than English language keyboard (I haven't check German or French or other). I use keyboard with "ded key". And in this case everything goes wrong - suddenly in Pages cursor dissapear or it isn't possible to type at all for some seconds. Safari typically have delay after 2 characters modified by ded key, like "āšč" etc.Mess.
I check this in upgrade version and later in to clear install. No chance.
Now I'm back on Mountain Lion.

Why not tell us which one, so we don't have to guess.  If it's Latvian, this is a known bug

If it's not Latvian, you have discovered something new and we want to test it to make sure it not something which only affects your system.

  • Double typing issue on used device - where to send it?

    Hi!
I bought a used Q10 not even a year ago. Now the double typing issue is so bad that I need to send it in and get it fixed or replaced. The problem is, I don't know where to send it. I live in Germany and the German BlackBerry support website wants me to contact my dealer. Since I bought the device used I don't have a dealer to contact. The person I bought the phone from tells me she's got it as present and doesn't have a receipt. How could I go at this?
    Thanks in advance,
    -pac

Will your German carrier (Vodafone?) allow you to pay for the service job?
Since it was purchased used, the device is likely no longer is under warranty.
It could be a problem of simple moisture affecting the keyboard. You can remove the battery and place the device in dry white rice for 3-5 days and see if that corrects it.

  • Apple Wireless Keyboard ddouble double first letters

My Apple Wireless Keyboard, bluetoothed to my iPad 4th Generation, will have double or tripple first letters. This just started in the last few weeks. It seems to happen when the keyboard must be "asleep" and just first typing. I'll type for a few minutes, and it works just fine. Then go away, and when I come back and type on it again, it will ddouble the first letter.
Anyone else? What did you do to fix it?

My Apple wireless keyboard also double types the first letter usually after I pause for several minutes.  It often happens when I am using a "search box".Then of course the double first letter makes the word unsearchable and I have to go back to delete that one letter. Annoying. I use the keyboard with an iPad Air. Based upon the "needs charging" comment above, I checked my batteries and found they were a little over 50%. But I changed them anyway. The double letter problem seemed to almost go away the first day with the new batteries. Now I am on my second day with the new batteries and the double first letter is beginning to appear with greater frequency. The keyboard doesn't have an on-off switch so maybe the problem is power related.

No, but try terminating and restarting Safari:
    1. Press the Home button
    2. Double click the Home button to bring up the "Recent Apps" tray.
    3. Touch and hold on the Safari icon in the "Recent Apps" tray until a "-" appears.
    4. Touch the "-" to terminate Safari.
    5. Restart Safari and see if your Bookmarks are back.

  • After upgrade to iOS8 on my iPhone5, I do not see smart keyboard options while typing message or email text

after upgrade to iOS8 on my iPhone5, I do not see smart keyboard options while typing message or email text

Go to Settings>General>Keyboards>Predictive Text>ON. If it is on, you can toggle it off and then back on. The other method is to check in the typing area of the Messages app and it could be minimized. You would see a small line in the center just below the typing area. You would just need to put your finger on that small line and swipe upwards. But either should bring it back.

  • BlackBerry Passport - double typing issue

After about 4 months of usage, I began to start having the double-typing issue on my Passport (which, from what I read, is not uncommon, both for Passports and Classics).
It doesn't seem to te be the hardware issue - I can't recreate it by simply pushing the button, it happens randomly.
Is it possible that it is related to the installation of the update of the OS? I have 10.3.1.1565, but I didn't have it with the previous OS versions.
Does anyone know what is the reason of this? Or the possible solution?
    Thanks,
    L.

I'm not seeing it. Now running PassportSQW100-1/10.3.1.2576
I'm not confident I'm right about this, but if it is happening on the same key(s) even if it is intermittent, I would tend to believe it is hardware.
If you want to rule out software you need to do a clean OS install. I think there might be a good argument for using Sachesi or autoloader, but I'm not sure.

Restore as new, i.e. without your backup.

  • Keyboard freezes when typing on iPad.

is  anyone else experiencing the screen keyboard freezing when typing a Google search or on an Internet blog?

To things that seem to have helped folks with this problem is a reset of all settings followed by a reset of the device.
    1. Use the Settings app to reset all settings.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
    2. Reset your device like this. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
    Hopefully that fixes your problem.

  • HT1338 My MacBook Pro (running Leopard 10.5.8) won't allow keyboard to type an upper case 'C' using the shift key...works fine with caps lock, or, with my Typinator workaround using double-typed lower case c (not always best). Any ideas?

My MacBook Pro keyboard won't type an upper case 'C' using the shift key... only with caps lock. Workaround has been to use Typinator by typing a double lower case c, not always the best solution. Mac is a refurbished model, which initially was fine. Apple tech helped me correct the quirk when it first appeared, but now it has returned and refuses fixes. Any ideas?

I'm willing to bet that this has something to do with iCloud.  I've been facing a frozen computer nearly every time I go into it.
In Activity Monitor I have seen two programs associate with iCloud that take up about 2.5 GB of memory (I only have 4 in the computer) -- causing everything to freeze.  One of these is called "iCloud Helper" and the other one is something like "Address Book Sync helper" -- I see parts of these names in the stuff you have posted.
I am at my wits' end with these and have written to Apple asking them to do away with these or fix them.  To get rid of the Address book sync thing I have gone into system preferences for iCloud and unchecked Contacts -- but then spontaneously it gets rechecked.  And oftentimes after I Force Quit the iCloud helper, it spontaneously turns on again.  My conclusion --- the iCloud is basically unusable.  It turns a Mac into the most useless, clogged, sluggish PC.  If this is happening to a lot of people's computers -- and I see no reason why yours or mine should be an exception -- these programs just might destroy Apple itself.
So -- I'm about to completely give up on iCloud, and I suspect that others will too unless this gets fixed.
    Cheers,
    Bob
