Keyboard Viewer keeps appearing whenever I am prompted to enter my password

Help!
Everytime I get asked for my administrator password the Keyboard Viewer keeps launching. I close it once and it appears again at the next password prompt. How do I disable it?

Have the same problem and the input menu is not displayed, the checbox is not checked, but I still get the keyboard viewer each time an authentication dialog box appear.
Additionally, I get these in console :

You can't delete an existing account, you can only choose to stop using it.  It will still be there should you decide to use it again in the future.

  • I keep getting a blue screen prompt "to enter my Cisco Password" when i start up safari?

I keep getting a blue screen prompt to "enter my Cisco Password" when I start up Safari. Does anyone know why this would be coming up?. The only way for me to get by this message and get on-line is to shut down my computer and re-boot. Has anyone else had this issue?

    Dog,
This has only started coming up since I downloaded a program called Geneio, not sure if that could be the cause. It was **** trying to get rid of that program. NEVER load that program on your Mac. It suppose to be a news update program that flashes up. Never again!

I assumed this would help my problem with not being able to open apps like Preview or TextEdit since I installed Mountain Lion. Instead, first I'm prompted to enter a password, then once I do that, I get an error box telling me the Library needs repairing. So I click on Repair, and once again I'm prompted for a password, which I enter, then the same error box opens, and so it goes. Can anyone help me with this problem? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -Rh $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Step 1 should give you usable permissions in your home folder. This step will restore special attributes set by OS X on some user folders to protect them from unintended deletion or renaming. You can skip this step if you don't consider that protection to be necessary, and if everything is working as expected after step 1.
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

I changed my Apple ID and password, but when I attempt to update Apps I am prompted to enter my Password for my OLD Apple ID, and I am unable to override the Old Apple ID. How to proceed ?

Delete everything bought with the old Apple ID and buy it again.
    Content and Apple IDs -
Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with one Apple ID with a new Apple ID.

  • How do I stop receiving a prompt to enter a password for a discontinued Account ID?

I changed my Apple ID a few weeks ago.  I am now getting prompted to enter the password for my old Apple ID on my iPhone 4.  I cancel the request and proceed but it is imapacting my user experience.  I am not having any issues with my new Account ID.
    Thank you!

That's because you have apps on your phone that were obtained with your old Apple ID. Apps are forever tied to the ID used to obtain them & cannot be transferred to another Apple ID. You have two choices: 1. Delete them & re-purchase with your new ID, or 2. Contact iTunes support, explain the situation, & request they add these apps to the download queue of your new ID:

  • I'm getting repeated prompts to enter my password, but only for calendars

I'm getting repeated prompts to enter my password, but only for iCal. In iCal I see an alert, and when I bring it up I get this:
My other iCloud functions seem to be working fine. I'm iMessaging, etc.

I've seen a couple reports on here, and mine has been down for an hour or more. However, as usual there is no indication of issues on the iCloud status page.

  • HT2623 I keep getting an error message when I enter my password for iCloud IMAP server

I keep getting an error message when I enter my password for iCloud IMAP server

A number of users who have chosen to set up iCloud mail manually in the Mail application seem to encounter problems with continually being asked to sign in. This may well be a result of incorrect settings such as not setting 'Apple Token' for authentication under the accounts advanced settings.
A more general approach to remedying such problems would be to turn off Mail in System Preferences/Settings > iCloud, checking the account has been removed from Mail (and deleting it if it hasn't), restarting and then enabling iCloud Mail again from System Preferences/Settings > iCloud. This will ensure the correct settings are used.

Hey, I understand how ****** off you must be at getting bounced around . It most likely has something to do with some port being blocked by your internet service provider or on your router.  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297 lists ports 80, 443, 3689, 5297, 5298, 5353, 8000-8999, and 42000-42999 as ports that need to be open for you to connect to the itunes store. I would recommed contacting your isp and making sure that they are not blocking anything (in a nice unaccusing way, you never know, it might not be their fault), or if they can help you determine if your router is the cause. Before you do that you could also make an appointent with the genius bar at your apple retail store to make sure you can connect to the itunes store on their network, although if you can connect to wifi through safari, it probably is not related to the wifi hardware of your device.
As last ditch efforts, I would try updating your device http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4623 (I recommend backing-up your device http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766 and any itunes purchases http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 just to be sure). If that doesn't work, I would restore it and set it up as a new device through itunes on a computer, that will wipe out any problem software and install the operating system as new, you can then test it to see if the issue was related to any software you had on it.
Let us know what you decide to do and if any suggestions helped. Good luck.

  • My iphone 4 has become unusable because Incorrect Apple ID Password keeps popping up even though I have entered my password correctly

The message just keeps popping up and I can't do anything with the phone. It's most frustrating

If it says incorrect password the password is incorrect, even if you think it is correct. But are you sure it is asking for the password for the same account that you are entering the password for?

  • Not Prompted to Enter Master Password

I recently set my master password in Firefox 3.6.10, but every time I open Firefox I'm not prompted to enter my master password.
What could be the reason I have not been asked to enter my master password when starting a new browsing session?

    See this: <br />
    https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Protecting+stored+passwords+using+a+master+password
Once per session, when a password is first needed - if you don't have any passwords saved you're probably not going to be asked for the Master Password.

  • Can anyone explain why this keeps appearing whenever I start my computer?

Can anyone tell me what this means and how I can get rid of it? It's really annoying me! Appears on screen each time I start my computer up.
    Cheers.

You've probably got hard disk corruption or malware on your computer. Run a virus scan with a recently update antivirus. Next, reinstall iTunes as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925.
Follow the instructions exactly, and do not skip any steps.

  • I am getting an error message when prompted to enter my password in the app store.

When I try to purchase or download an app, I am prompted for my password, but after I enter it, I get a dialogue box that says "Unkwown error." I have tried this several times and even reset my password. I am able to purchase apps on my computer in iTunes, and then sync them to my phone, so it seems to be a problem on the phone only.

Try turning the phone off and keeping it off for a minute an then turn it back on. That's what worked for me when this happened to me.
