Keyboard will not input into search bar on IOS5 Iphone 4
I have been using iOS 5 for a few days and an hour ago or so the keyboard stopped inputting text into maps, search bars, etc. It still inputs into the body of emails though. I tried restarting and resetting the phone which did not fix the issue. Anyone else having this problem?
I have exactly the same problem with my iPodTouch 4th gen and my wifes iPhone 3GS. When you login to icloud on the settings page it says the password is incorrect then the device locks up. It's fine on my iPad and both our Mac laptops.

Touchsmart 520-1047c Mouse and Keyboard will not work after sleep mode
I have an issue which I need some help with. When my computer goes to sleep the wireless mouse and keyboard will not work unless I restart, however each one will wake the system up but will not operate after that. I have tried just making the display go to sleep, both go to sleep but that makes no difference same issue occurs. The only work around I have found is going into the power settings and turning the sleep mode off for booth the computer and display. This does not solve the problem it just masks it. New batteries, unplugged and replugged the dongle, updated the bios and all drivers. Don't know what else to try. Anybody know how to fix this? Thank you in advance for your help.

My Ipod 4th Gen will not mount into Itunes
Please anyone with technical knowledge HELP ME.
The basic problem is that my 4th Generation Ipod will not mount into Itunes.
Let me tell you what I have done so far this includes all the R's, I have also followed the advice of reinstalling itunes and Quicktime I have also tried backwards installing to version 6 (at present I have upgraded to version 7.0.2). The ipod is visible in Windows and I still am able to use it as disk as I have programs I am using off it.
I have tried a fifth gen and also an Ipod mini and both mount onto my Itunes.
I have tried to reinstall the Ipod software, however the previous ipod updates do not work and as the Ipod cannot be mounted I cannot use Itunes to update it as it is not visible.
I have also run the Ipod Diagnostic in Itunes and everything seems fine (I have included the report if anyone can please understand it)and at the very bottom it states that the Ipod is truly Mounted. WELL ITS NOT
I really am getting desperate now as this is the same on both my Desktop and Laptop and I am getting very close to throwing the whole thing out along with all the rest of my computer equipment.

It appears to be truly mounted.If anyone is interested I managed to solve this problem by reformatting the ipod as a mac ipod, with the help of friends system. This does get rid of the music but as I had it backed up wasn't a problem. I then plugged the mac Ipod back into a windows pc and reformatted it as a windows ipod which updated the firmware correctly and have'nt had a problem since.

My i-pad 2 keyboard will not pop up with trying to sign into a web site or Facebook.. Does anyone know how to get it to come up?
Make sure you click in the text box for username and password to bring up the keyboard.
Try powering off your iPad by holding the power button and sliding the red slider when it appears, or try resetting your iPad by holding the power and home buttons together until the apple logo appears.
I would also highly recommend an app for facebook, it's called MyPad. -

You may have removed the search bar from the toolbar by accident.
Open the Customize window and set which toolbar items to display.

*if you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the Customize palette then click the Restore Defaults button to restore the default toolbar setup

Firefox will not allow me to use the enter button or even tapping the key pad on the go/magnifying glass button in the search window. I can type in a few keywords in the google or yahoo keyword search window in the top right tool bar but it will not let me enter. It also will not let me search or enter on any website with a search window. I can't even type in a username/password to access my banking. This just occurred several days ago. This is a linux Acer 8gig netbook.

Meaning if you lift clips form the main storyline and just have them back to back on the line above (but not in their own storyline) they will not allow effects to be applied. My new macbook pro (Mountain Lion 10.8.1) will not log into my 1and1 outgoing mail server. ( It will receive mail - but does not send)My old Snow Leopard macbook does not have the same problem ( server settings etc. are identical) . Apple Support say its a 1and1 problem , 1and1 say it is an operating System prob - I have tried changing port numbers.
My eyes just glazed over...Please in the future break down each of your issues with paragraphs separated by two carriage returns. It would be much easier when trying to address your issues.
Go to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse -> Mouse
And edit your mouse settings to do what you want it to do.

Third, from my understanding, it would appear you are concerned about the noise the hard drive makes when it falls asleep? Why not put your machine in screen saver mode instead? Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Energy Saver turn off all Energy Saver settings, or set them to run Never.
Fourth, if your machine was purchased just a few days ago, you may still be able to get an exchange from the store, quicker than you can get a repair done. You may want to look into that possibility.
Fifth, it does appear you found the Logic forum. I would persist in asking there how to solve your technical issue with Logic regarding the audio. It may be you don't have to do anything special to the hard drive. Remember audio can be transmitted by wire, avoiding ambient sounds.

This is quite frustrating, since it randomly occured as I was browsing the web. It seemed to happen out of nowhere. I cannot login to my user account because I cannot type my password.
Any help will be appreciated.
-MattIf you have another Mac, boot the non-working one into Target Disk Mode (holding down "T" at startup). Hook up the two Macs via a Firewire cable. The non-working one will mount on the other Mac as an external Firewire HD.
Next, download the 10.5.6 Combo update from here:

Run it. When it asks you for a destination, choose the other Mac that was mounted via Firewire. When it's done, unmount the computer and restart it. The keyboard and mouse should work now. -
My keyboard will not work. Last night I was using my computer and my battery died so I plugged it in and went to bed. This morning I turn my computer on and my login page appears but my keyboard and mouse will not work.
It sounds like what I have seen multiple times on a device with moisture damage.
Even sitting on a bathroom counter during a hot steamy shower or bath can cause keyboard and trackball problems UNTIL properly dried out.
It really is more common than you think.
1. Remove the battery immediately!! Do not attempt to turn on your BlackBerry.
2. Let the device dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days* (see below)
3. DO NOT "check it each day" by placing the battery in. Leave it be to dry completely. This takes time. Replacing the battery to check it can only damage it more (moisture + electrical current = disaster).
3. If the device is warm after the drying period, allow it to cool to room temperature before placing the battery back in.
*Suggestions on drying your BlackBerry in a warm place (open, with the battery out):
Place the BB in a container of dry UNcooked rice, and then you might also place it in any of the locations mentioned below.
On top of any dry heat emitting electronic component: TV cabinet or CRT, LCD, cable TV/Satellite converter box or plasma monitor

hi...since i upgraded from snow leopard to mountain lion...my wireless keyboard will not repeat keys
and yes i have tried adjusting it in prefs...also i am limited in my knowledge of puters..Key repeat was semi-eliminated in 10.7. Characters that have accents (vowels, n) now show options for accents when they're held down in Apple's applications. Consonants, for the most part will repeat.
To re-enable key repeat, copy and paste this into Terminal and restart:
defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool false
(This may not work with some custom keyboard layouts or in all applications.) To go back to the default setting, enter the same command into Terminal, substituting 'true' for 'false'. -
New Keyboard Will Not Work for Power On Key Combinations
I have a early 2006 model iMac with 20" display. I had to purchase a new keyboard and bought one of the new wired tactile Apple keyboards. I've upgraded to Leopard and also have the most current keyboard update to support this keyboard. Tonight I got into a situation where I needed to boot my machine holding down the "Option" key in order to select a startup partition. It did not work. I finally went and got an old keyboard off another Mac, plugged it into my iMac and powered the machine up holding the option key. They screen appeared allowing me to select the partition and I was off and running. What I have noticed is the new keyboard will not allow me to perform any of the startup key combinations like the ones for booting from a CD, or ejecting a disk, etc. Is there some driver or something I'm missing? USB cable will not plug into my 6555.
The USB cable that came with my 6555 will Not plug into the phone. It seems to be slightly too big. The Nokia Accessories page lists CA-101 as the right one (for $30.00). However, the cable that came in the box has no designation so I cannot confirm the right cable was packaged. I bought this phone at Best Buy and there is no reference on their web site for a USB cable accessory. I do not want to order a $30 part to replace one that was mis-packaged. Does anyone have experience with these micro-USB cables and can confirm which is the right one and where to obtain one? Regards.

I went to Best Buy and talked to the sales team lead. The cable that was packaged in the 6555 box has a *mini* USB connection. The pjone requires a *micro* USB connection. So, my assessment that the cable end would not fit was accurate. The box was missing a small adapter that converts the mini cable end to a micro cable end. He offered to sell me a universal USB cable with the adapter included for half the listed retail price. I paid $8.00. (better than the $30 for a CA-101 from Nolia).
The adapter fits the 6555 USB port. I tried both the universal cable and the Nokia cable to link to 2 of my PCs (w/ Win XP) after installing the Nokia PC Suite. Neither worked. It seems that the PC does not recognize that the phone is there. I know there are other posts with related issues on this forum. So I will drop this thread and search for answers to the latest problem.
