Sold on ebay, but guy said it showed up not working, it worked fine when it left here. I refunded his money and now its really broken, I think he may have swapped out the MB or something becase it just doesnt come on. Please help. Also the serial numbers are off of it, luckily I had a copy of the numbers. What can I try? Will hp fix it? It is still under the warranty...
So thats the story, leds come on for only a flash and then off, the cpu fan runs and I get no beeps back . Also sounds like the HDD is trying to do something. I put the HDD in a different computer and it has 0 issue
Sounds like someone has pulled the ol "switcheroo" on you. Did you photograph all of the internal component serial numbers??? If not there is no way to tell what happened. Why is the serial number off of the computer??? Regardless of having a copy of the serial number, HP is unlikely to repair the computer with the serial number removed. What is preventing anyone from trying to get service on a product that is no longer eligible for service.

No offence, but as with quite a few others, my Iphone stopped charging on mains after iOS 7.0.4 update too.
Not sure you can categorically advise that "it simply is not a software issue" when so many different people are having the same symptoms after updating their iOS Just have a quick Google!
Luckily my (original Apple) cable will still allow recharging via USB to a laptop. So, process of elimination would point to a bricked charger that was working faultlessly up until the iOS 7.0.4 update was applied. Seems quite a stretch to be a coincidence.

I have one song listed but when I go to download it from the cloud it shows 480 songs and never downloads it. This is music that I own so I don't understand why this isn't working right. Can anyone help?
Delete the current copy of the song from iTunes and then download again (free) from your purchased history.
If the problem persists contact iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history.

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. When the red slider appears, release the Sleep/Wake button.
Instead of dragging the red slider, press and hold the Home button for six seconds.

When I use it on my laptop there is no problem the songs and videos are there but when i use the ipod directly they just don't appear... :SIt sounds like the iPod has a software issue. I would try the following troubleshooting tips:
1. Reset the iPod: reset the iPod by holding the sleep/wake and home buttons simultaneously for 10-15 seconds until the screen goes black then shows the Apple logo.
2. Make sure the iPod is on the latest version of the software, if it's not then update it.
3. If the iPod is on the latest version of the software or the software update didn't resolve your issue then restore the ipod to factory settings, which will put a new version of the system software on your iPod.

I'm having the same problem. Out of the blue this morning, my phone is telling me I cannot download any apps because paypal is not supported. I've been usinf paypal forever for iTunes/Apps. I tried the re-boot. Still getting the error. Any other ideas?

- Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers

- For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem

Do you get an error when you try to sync your iPod nano with iTunes? If your iPod does not appear in iTunes in the first place, you can try the troubleshooting below.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Try another cable and anothen computer if necessary. Also
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
