Keyboard will not show for typing passwords. i.e. to download/update an app.

Assuming that you were not using a Bluetooth keyboard with the iPad - or if you were, and you have turned the keyboard off and turned Bluetooth off on the iPad - try rebooting and see if the keyboard will appear.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

    I am installing a Apple TV, when I select my router from the list it prompted me for the password. I entered an old password in error, so it would not connect. Now when I reselect my router it does not prompt for a new password, it uses the old incorrect one and does not connect. I need to be able to re-enter the correct one.

    I have a early 2006 model iMac with 20" display. I had to purchase a new keyboard and bought one of the new wired tactile Apple keyboards. I've upgraded to Leopard and also have the most current keyboard update to support this keyboard. Tonight I got into a situation where I needed to boot my machine holding down the "Option" key in order to select a startup partition. It did not work. I finally went and got an old keyboard off another Mac, plugged it into my iMac and powered the machine up holding the option key. They screen appeared allowing me to select the partition and I was off and running. What I have noticed is the new keyboard will not allow me to perform any of the startup key combinations like the ones for booting from a CD, or ejecting a disk, etc. Is there some driver or something I'm missing?   • Camera will not show for import in managed account

    In my administrator and one managed account, when I connect my kodak digital camera it displays for import. In another managed account despite enabling access to image capture, selecting iphoto for import in image capture and fixing permissions, neither image capture or iphoto show the kodak camera for import. I also tried removing the preference files from that user's library for iphoto and image capture. Help!

    Thanks for the post.
    The camera may not show an image on the LCD screen if the camera is not set for live view shooting.  However, it will always display the menu on the screen if you press the MENU button.  If it does not, then the camera will need to be serviced.  To start this process, you'll need to complete a Repair Request on our website.

  • My iPod will not show up on my iTunes following the newest update, yet says its up to date on software?

    Recently my iTunes has updated to the latest version on my PC (a Windows 7), and although ios7 is recommended, my iPod tells me that it is up to date with the 6.1.6 it is currently running. It does not show ios7 to download at all, merely says it is up to date on its software. When I try and plug the iPod in to my PC with a USB cable to sync new music to it, it doesn't even register as being there at all. No device option is in the drop-down file box nor does it show next to the music, video and etc icons. I tried restoring my iPod to the cloud and that worked just fine, tried restarting both devices and replugging in the USB, but nothing seems to be working. No matter what I've tried from the FAQ, my iPod is not showing up or registering to sync. It worked perfectly fine before iTunes updated and any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Are you sure the Orientation lock is turned off? Double click the home button and swipe it to the right. You will see a round arrow with the lock. If there is a lock then it's locked. If the lock does not appear then it should not be locked. You can also check on the main screen, top right corner where the battery indicator is and if the orientation lock is on, you will see a symbol.

    This is a common problem to which no solution has yet appeared. The iTunes Store said in a reply to me some days ago that the problem was being worked on, but things remain the same. Perhaps the ability to select updates individually took higher priority (as it should) and now that's done the "missing upgrade" issue will be attended to.

    I just hooked up my Apple TV - it is all connected correctly- when my wifi comes up on my tv screen i click and select it.     It will not ask after it is already connected.  Is ATV working?  Can you connect to the iTunes store, Netflix, etc?

    Go to Settings > General > Cellular > Setup personal hotspot on the iPhone.  Is there a place for a password? Do you have the password stored in the iPhone but not in the MacBook and iPad?  Check these settings and see if there is a fix for it.  Otherwise, this might be something that can only be addressed by your carrier (Verizon).

    Wow that was really quick, thank you so much.  Im not sure at all which version it was because i said it was around 4 years ago he bought it.  I know it isn't under his username, since he's a PC person (ugh) so i know its probably registered to one of our actual names.  isn't there some way to look it up since we did register it, because I'm not even sure where the disks are from when we bought it (we've moved a lot and also have two storage lockers, i know i would have kept it with other disks) but my cd rom drive is actually broken on my computer as well ( i think it got stepped on and is now squished and won't eject or run disks.)
    So is there anyway they can look up that its registered to one of our names since we did register it when we bought and installed it, or do i really have to find the disk with some sort of proof of purchase (i know there would be no receipt after all this time)

    I have a 2013 27" iMac, an iPad, and an iPhone 5C, all running the latest systems (10.9.5 and iOS8.0.2). I need to find my actual password, the one I enter, when I use a particular banking site which will not accept a saved password, or even one I could type in on my keyboard like all other sites do, but makes me use their online keypad to enter my password.
    The password I can see saved in Keychain and Safari is not the password I created, but something called a webform password, and it is wrong. Is there a way to retrieve my actual password, that I created and entered the first time I used it, when it worked? I am always having to call this bank and get a new password - and no, they will not let me do it online - because even when I record the latest one and think I am entering it correctly, the system they use still fools me. And now Keychain has let me down!
    How can I retrieve my actual password from Keychain that I can read, and then type into the bank's online keypad?

    I applaud the bank for making a secure login for its customers.  I also understand your frustration with the whole situation.  But, you need to understand one key issue: The bank's own website is bypassing the keyboard on your Mac, so the Mac has no idea what the password is.
    This is not a problem with the Keychain in that Keychain still works correctly.  Keychain, though, has no way to know (nor does OS X by the way) what characters you are "typing" using the on-screen keyboard the bank insists you use.  The typing is simply activating a link on the webpage that tells their server what "key" you pressed.  Keychain does not know what the link means and has no idea that this is a password.
    This may be a frustration, but it is there to protect you from key-loggers if you are on an un-secure network or an un-secure public machine.  I just hope the bank is just as paranoid about protecting your account information they store on their own servers.
