Keyboard won't work after  attempted 2.1 install

I have XPSP2 installed on its on HD. I used Boot Camp Beta. When I upgraded to Leopard I installed BC 2.0 and everything worked perfectly. When BC 2.1 was announced, I made sure all firmware and other upgrades were in order and then ran the upgrade as an exe from the desktop. I got error messages concerning the apple keyboard (standard Mac). Subsequent to installation the keyboard would not work at all and Device Manager stated the keyboard drivers were not installed. After several failed attempts, I uninstalled 2.1 and attempted to reinstall 2.0 from the Leopard disc. The keyboard still does not work and Device Manager shows drivers not installed. I tried installing 2.0 and 2.1 in Safe Mode and I can't. I tried to repair the existing XP using the the install disc and that causes an error message. I am at a loss as to what to do.
Help

I have a similar issue. I updated to 7.1.2 last night. Now my Bluetooth audio doesn't work.
The iPhone appears to be paired with my Bluetooth enabled car stereo, but will not play any music.
Initially the stereo said 'Bluetooth connection failed' but then I disconnected and re-paired; now both the stereo and iPhone say 'connected' but still no audio.
If I press play on the phone or stereo, there's no response.
I can confirm that my Bluetooth keyboard pairs fine and I can type, change the brightness and volume but I cannot pause or play music.
My guess is that there was a change to the iOS Bluetooth Audio functionality. One that's introduced an incompatibility with one or several of the Bluetooth audio profiles: iOS: Supported Bluetooth profiles

my iphone won't work after fatal error occurred installing iOS5.1 have followed allsteps to reconfigure software onto windows still no phone just a usb and itunes picture on screen

Connect the phone directly to the computer, not a hub.
Disconnect all other USB devices except keyboard and mouse.
    Disable your firewall
    Disable your antivirus
In iTunes if it recognizes the phone click "Restore"
If it doesn't recognize the phone:
Disconnect the phone from the phone end, leave the USB cable plugged into the computer
Hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons until the screen turns black, excactly 10 seconds, then release the SLEEP but continue holding the HOME (If an Apple logo appears you have held SLEEP too long; do it over)
While holding HOME connect the cable to the phone
As soon as iTunes recognizes the phone release the HOME button and it should restore.
If neither procedure works note the exact error message and post it.

  • Macbook won't work after attempting Bootcamp

Okay, so I run Leopard on my Macbook and tried to partition 32GB and run Windows XP on my laptop.
All went well (despite having to repair my disk/permissions for partitioning) until I "finished" the Windows XP setup. As far as I know, I did everything right and it told me that it would reboot and put me through the next setup process (as it should) - but that's where everything went wrong. After rebooting - it took me to the same setup process as I did just before and did not bring me any further.
And so I set it up OVER my last setup and it did the same thing again. I decided to try and run Windows but just got a black screen and a blinking cursor.
I put in my Mac OSX installation disk to see if I could well... do something to get it working. No matter what I tried, I couldn't access my original OS and pressing option when starting the computer up only gave me the option of going to the startup disk, or nothing.
After removing the disk the computer wouldn't load anything, so the next day (today) I tried putting in my OSX disk, it loaded and I tried to load the OS onto my computer again - it gave no option of putting it onto my internal HD - so I tried to load the Windows folder on my next reboot. I restarted it and it loaded onto a black screen that said something about entering a disk to boot on. Frustrated, I tried to reboot it while entering my OSX disk to somewhat try another method of getting onto my original OS.
No luck there though, as it simply spit my disk on startup and is continuing to do so. Now when it starts up, all I see is a white screen and I can't access ANYTHING.
Now there are plenty of questions I need to ask. First of, where has my OS gone and how do I access it? Do I need to reinstall it? (I have a backup, but I really don't want to have to reinstall it along with my software) I'd really like to access it and if I have to, just not bother with bootcamp on my computer.
OR, am I able to somehow start up the windows and access it from there? Actually, how do I access anything?
Oh, and based on what I've read, some people have suggested pressing "Option, command, P and M (PRAM)" on startup to reset it or something like that. That's done nothing for me so far. I'd really like some help as at the moment, I'm stuck on my sister's dell laptop running vista but is basically broken and is far too difficult to even click without getting it wrong.

Make sure you have used the right combination to boot into special mode..

Try to access with Mac OS X and use Disk Utility to verify what's going on.
When you start using Windows Partition, after installing Windows, reject your CD until the Window comes out and says you need to put your cd in.

Since updating, Mission Control won't work after sleeping.  Upon Start up it's fine, but after sleeping it won't work by trackpad or keyboard. I'm sure I use Mission Control more than most, so it's really irritating for me.

No, the versions of iPhoto on the iPad and on OS X are totally different.
What Apple ID are you using for the Mac App Store? Who else has access to that Apple ID, or what possible other Apple IDs could be in use? It's possible you'll need to purchase iPhoto to get the upgrade, though I'd think Software Update should offer you the correct version.

  • External keypad won't work after installing OS 7.

External keypad won't work after installing OS 7. I have a "Zagg" keyboard that won't pair now to OS 7,...Why?

They do work. I have one and mine is working. Have you tried to reset your iPad? HOlding down teh sleep and home keys until it reboots then try pairing again.
A slightly more drastic thing is to go into the settings and reset all settings. THe downside, you will need to retweak your device but it can help fix keyboard glitches.

All keys on keyboard is working and touchpad is also working.
But after upgrading to windows 7 some keys on keyboard are not working like z,x,c,v, left ctrl and other more keys..
what do you think is the problem??
    Hardware Issue? or Driver Issue?
    please help thank you..

    Hello @MysticDragon ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand some of the keys on your keyboard are not working after installing Windows 7.
I do not see any drivers available for your notebook for Windows 7 on the HP website, so their might be some compatibility issues as it's going to rely on Windows update to find current drivers. This doesn't mean it will not work, but I cannot say for sure that it will.
    Try this:
    1. Click Start.
    2. Click Control Panel.
    3. Click Clock, Language, and Region.
    4. Click Region and Language.
    5. Click the Keyboards and Languages tab.
    6. Click Change keyboards...
    7. On the General tab, make sure English (United States) - US is selected in the Default input language field.
    8. Click on any other keyboards in the Installed services list.
    9. Click Remove.
    10. Repeat for all other non-English (United States) keyboards.
You may also want to try rolling back to Windows XP and see if the issue persists. It is possible the issue is coincidental and not the direct result of the update to Windows 7.
Let me know if this works!

  • My wireless keyboard won't work for one of the users

All of a sudden the wireless keyboard stopped working for me, but it works when my wife logs in.  I had to create a new account for myself and the keyboard now works.  However, the keyboard won't work for my original account. Any thoughts?

Does it shows up as a device in your BT menu under the problematic user? Does it connect? If you delete it from your admin account and re-pair it, does it work?
There is a command called ioreg, which can help as well.

My apple wireless keyboard is not working after new batteries installed.

Do you get a steady green light to say there is a connection.    If not, are the batteries the right way round.   Do you have a monitor to tell the batteries strength. Is there a reading.   Are the batteries good quality ones, Duracell, Energiser or Apple rechargeables.

  • I have an ipod 2g , The keyboard won't work! Or at least some of it's letters and numbers won't. please help i'm stuck with emojis

i have an ippd touch 2g , a part of my keyboard won't work , i can type letters but i can't type numbers . please help i'm stuck with emojis keyboard

Try restarting the iPod by holding down the lock and home button together and then slide the power button to turn it off and then wait 10 seconds and start it up again. If it is not a reset issue then it may be a hardware issue. Is your iPod damaged or have you dropped it recently? If it is a hardware problem then you may not be able to fix it. If your iPod has multitasking options like the new iOS devices, close out the app and then try again, it should reset your device to letters instead of emojis.

  • My keyboard does not work after cleaning :-(

Hello, I have a MacBook Pro (bought in december 2009) an now the keyboard does not work after I cleaned it. This was on thursday and today it still does not work. Any ideas?

Chances are that you've shorted the terminals on the keyboard, and will need to be replaced… When the keyboard on unibody MacBook Pro's is replaced the whole 'top case' will be done, trackpad etc… Now generally it is highly unlikely that the Liquid submersion indicators will have been activated unless the cloth was saturated with water. Also unless you purchased the AppleCare protection plan your MacBook will be out of warranty and will require an out of warranty repair.
From knowledge out of warranty repair for a top case assembly it's £163 and a level 2 hardware repair is £28

Laptop is a few weeks old and I've only just got around to registering it. I couldn't register it until it had an update.
I've downloaded the update and now the keyboard won't work.
I can use keys to increase/decrease brightness of the screen, but nothing else.
I've already tried holding down the power button for 10 seconds, it's just made loading times worse.
    Thanks for any help

    hi VeeBee15,
    Welcome to the Forums.
If you ran Windows Update and you get the issues on the keyboard can, you try to:
    1. Disable Filter Keys (see this thread)
    2. Boot into Safe Mode and see if the keyboard works. If the keyboard doesn't work, perform a System Restore in Safe Mode.
    3. If System Restore doesn't work, perform a full factory restore by pressing the OneKey Recovery button.
    Hope this helps
