Keychain has stopped saving my passwords in my applications.

Recently my applications including browsers and coda have stopped saving my passwords.
I read that keychain access has a first aid option so I have run that but its throwing back an error.
It says there was an error with the owner of this file "/Library/Keychains/System.keychain"

No, iTunes has never saved videos or photos from the iPhone to the computer. You have always had to do it yourself (not using iTunes).

Help! Recently my Acrobat 10 has stopped saving ANY PDFs, old or new, scanned or downloaded. When I try to save a PDF a popup occurs telling me "The document could not be saved. There was a problem reading this document (8)." What can be done to fix this issue?

This is a generic error message, while saving a file which has some corrupt data.
Can you please open the file, click on 'File - Properties', and under description, please check who is the PDF producer for a sample file.
Also, please share the exact version of Adobe Acrobat 10 (Help menu - About Adobe Acrobat 10). The latest version of Adobe Acrobat is 10.1.12. You can also try updating your Acrobat to the latest version (Help - Check for updates) to see if that works for you.

I had this exact same problem. I found this fix and it worked for me.
Step 1:
Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support and copy the filen named QTMovieWin.dll.
Step 2:
Browse and past that file into C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes.
Hope this helps you. I wish I could remember where I saw this originally so I could thank them.

Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Keychain has changed its own password?

Firstly I installed some Canon drivers today and at that point my account's password was accepted and OK. Also did tried to do some 'mount -t smbfs ... ' with Terminal.
Later today iTunes wanted to upgrade iPod software and *suddenly my password was not accepted!*
Rebooted the machine but even the login failed. Then I used the '10.5 install DVD' to boot to *reset the password to the same as it has always been*. Thereafter the login was OK but now there is no way to get Keychain to accept the same password.
Any ideas what is the password that keychain wants now?

It is a lower case upper case issue at the keychain, but the inital admin password issue looks very much as bug at 10.5.1

Mail has stopped accepting my password for one of my .mac addresses

Why does this happen? I don't change anything and then one day without explanation after years of having this email address, Mail on the Mac and on the iOS suddenly will no longer accept the password. Why does this happen, how can I stop it, and how can I get Mail to this one email address? Having to reset the password is really not an acceptable solution for something that should never happen the first place.
I'd really like an explanation of why this happens.

Really? Sorry I don't think I can do that. Deleting an account deletes all the messages and mailboxes for the account. I can't trust that the cloud still has this stuff. There is information on here that's too important to lose and I can't trust that the only road back won't be a complete OS rebuild and restore from backup, which I'm not in a position to do at the moment.

My hp pavilion desktop has stopped accepting my password.

I have been using the same password on my HP Pavilion a6140 since I bought it 5 years ago. Yesterday afternoon as soon as I typed the 5th letter of the password, it took me back to the log-on button. It was OK this morning - I got in as normal with my password. But on several attempts to log on this afternoon and despite shutting the PC off and on, the problem has re-occurred each time I enter the 5th letter. I currently have no access to my files etc.
I can get in via the 'guest' button but it will not allow me to switch user. Nor can I get into any settings changes because it prompts me for the administrator password. I am the administrator and as of now it will not accept my password. I do not recall ever being asked to create a password backup disk. I do have the original recovery disks.
Yesterday morning I had a sudden interruption while writing an email - some nonsense characters appeared on the email and Windows Media Player opened (I do not use WMP). It might have been a virus. If so, scans today by Norton and Malwarebytes have failed to detect it.
I use an HP PS/2 keyboard, which my PC tells me is working properly. Numbers and other keyboard locks are off.
UPDATE: While writing this message on a notebook computer, I noticed my PC had frozen. I could turn it off only at the electric socket. On turning it back on, it has accepted my password..... Any ideas?! Thanks.

I was in ther middle of replying yesterday telling you I had successfully logged in twice more, when it happened again. Words I had been writing became nonsense characters and a pop-up for Windows Media Player appeared.
I did a system restore to a point 3 days before the problem first appeared. When I tried to log in afterwards, I entered the 5th letter of my password and it did not allow me to go further. It took me back to the log-in icons. Exactly as before. Then I did a full scan on Malwarebytes, which found nothing. Still the same result when trying to log in.
No change this morning. I find I can get in via the (non-password-protected) guest icon but on trying to access my gmail, I find the 12th letter takes me back to the Google home screen, with nonsense letters on the search line. I can get into another Google account, with a different password.
The 5th & 12th letters are the same, a "w". A keyboard malfunction? However a Control Panel check (Windows Vista) tells me the keyboard is working properly. The problem appears also to be intermittent. And it seems odd that pressing the w could have these effects, including nonsense characters and opening Windows Media Player.
I am grateful for your help. Further thoughts please!

Keychain is not saving Entourage passwords

I would like anyone's assistance on this issue.
I just installed MS office 2004 and running Entourage with all my passwords and the like. I checked for it to save my password and I thought it did. But everytime I go close the app and go back it asks for each of the email's password.
I have gone to Keychain and run first aid and that didn't help.
Can someone give me a resolution on this? This is very cumbersome.

What kind of email account do you have and are you fully patched to version 11.3.3 of Entourage? Is your account an Exchange account by any chance?
No one's pinpointed an exact cause for this problem but I suspect one of a few different things. Try these:
1. Change the password. If this is an Exchange Server password it probably needs to meet some complexity requirements. Make sure the new password (never used before) is a combination of UPPER case letters, lower case letters and numbers. You may also need to include a symbol character (Shift + 1-9). It should be eight characters or longer and begin with a letter. If you have a POP or IMAP account see if you can change the password through your service provider's website.
2. Look for a malformed message or spam message with Asian characters and delete it via webmail.
3. Log in via webmail and delete items from your Deleted Items folder.
4. You've already tried Keychain First Aid, which is a good start to troubleshooting.

Adobe PSE 11 has stopped saving my work.

The mac app I downloaded a while back for Adobe Photshop Elements 11 has started playing up. When I go to edit a picture and then save it, it doesn't come up with any options using the save-as function. It freezes the screen for a few seconds, then the spinning beach ball of doom appears and then the screen un-freezes.
However after this, the file doesn't save. Is this anything to do with the fact that now PSE 12 is on the app store instead of 11, or that I was playing around with my gatekeeper settings last night to open a file I downloaded, but then I changed the settings back to default, so I don't know. I have also deleted and re-installed the app and that didn't help.
Any help would be marvellous as I have a website and I need to make all the graphics ASAP.

Mac Mail has stopped saving copies of sent items

Hello,
after a brief (2 day ) flirtation with IMAP, I went back to my trusty POP3 account and all is well - only it's not saving copied of sent email.
I've looked around and cant find any settings that would affect this - notably 'sent' items are set to nevr delete.
Any ideas?

You have a mail account in Preferences > Accounts that’s enabled but doesn’t show up in the Account popup menu when composing a new message?
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
After having fixed all the filesystem issues, if any, and ensuring that there’s enough space available on the startup disk (a few GB, plus the space needed to make a backup copy of the Mail folder), try this:
1. If you have a .Mac account and .Mac synchronization of Mail data is enabled either in Mail > Preferences > General or in System Preferences > .Mac, disable it before proceeding.
2. Quit Mail if it’s running.
3. Make a backup copy of the ~/Library/Mail folder, just in case something goes wrong while trying to solve the problem. You can do this in the Finder by dragging the Mail folder to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down, for example. This is where all your mail is locally stored.
4. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Preferences/. Locate com.apple.mail.plist and move it to the Desktop (to be deleted if this solves the problem).
5. Open Mail. You’ll have to set up your non-.Mac accounts from scratch all over again. If given the option to import existing mailboxes or something like that, don’t. Just enter the account information and Mail will automagically rediscover the data in ~/Library/Mail/ when done.
6. You’ll have to re-configure most of your settings in Mail > Preferences. For spam-related security reasons, the first thing you should do is go to Preferences > Viewing and disable Display remote images in HTML messages if it’s enabled.
7. You may also need to re-install or re-enable any Mail plug-ins you have installed for Mail to recognize them.
8. As a side effect of re-creating com.apple.mail.plist, Mail might rename Outbox (which is where messages waiting to be sent are stored) to Delivered. The name of that mailbox is actually a misnomer, as it would contain messages (if any) that couldn’t be delivered for some reason. You can delete that mailbox if you wish.
9. If the problem is fixed now and .Mac synchronization of Mail data was enabled at the beginning, enable it again, go to System Preferences > .Mac > Advanced, click Reset Sync Data, and choose the appropriate options to reset the Mail data stored on the .Mac server with the data locally stored on the computer, i.e. sync data must flow from the computer to the .Mac server.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. You can easily locate any of the folders referred to in this post by copying the folder path here, doing Go > Go to Folder in the Finder, and pasting the folder path there.

Mail not saving my passwords

My mail program has stopped saving my passwords so I must reenter them everytime I check my mail. When I type the password in under my account preferences is disappears when I go out of that window. I have searched support and tried fixing with all their suggestions with no success. I assume I must either reinstall keychain or mail. If so, how do I do that? I don't want to reinstall system software if I don't need to. Help!

Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:

Open /Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access, choose Keychain First Aid from the application menu, and proceed to repair the keychain.
If that doesn’t work, try removing the password entries from the keychain and letting Mail create them again the next time it asks for them.
If the problem persists, try resetting the keychain:
1. In Keychain Access > Preferences > General, click Reset My Keychain and proceed as requested. A new (empty) login keychain should be created and the old one renamed and removed from the keychain list, but not deleted.
2. You can add the old (renamed) keychain (stored in ~/Library/Keychains/) back to the keychain list by clicking the [+] button in Edit > Keychain List.
3. Depending on what the problem with the old keychain was, you may be able to move/copy password entries from the old keychain to the new one if you wish.

BBM Chat History stopped saving for a particular contact - Help!!!

Somebody please help me, for some reason the chat history for ONE contact ONLY has stopped saving the chat history since 26th March 2012 but I have done nothing??? If I search a word in a chat since then, it comes up but says 26th March but it wasnt it was yesterday? Any ideas anyone?
