Keychain password dialog box won't quit

Every time I open my computer, I receive dialog boxes asking me to enter my keychain password for various programs. Some of them say they need access to "Local Items" and are asking for the password to that. I type in my computer password, and it rejects the password as incorrect. I also try to close the box or click the "?," but it won't let me do this. I've went in and repaired my Keychain under First Aid to no avail. I took it to an IT department who cleared out my stored passwords in Keychain, but that hasn't stopped the problem either. Sometimes I can get them to go away temporarily, but it never lasts long. Any suggestions?

Hello birdie.ks,
We've an article that can help quiet your computer's need to unlock the 'Local Items' keychain.

  • Illustrator cc2014 open dialog box won't work yosemite

I have a Macbook Pro Retina 2014 with a fresh install of Yosemite and Creative Cloud, after a while, when I used the open dialog box for 4 or 5 times to open documents, that dialog box won't work anymore, I have to quit and reopen the Illustrator application, the shortcut won't work either. Is anybody got that problem before?
When I was on Mountain Lion, I never got this problem, I presume it's related to Yosemite.

    Gelouis,
I believe it is a bug in CC2014, appearing when you have the Illustrator open/place dialogue set to column view and sort by date or sort by kind. You may change it to view by name or list view.

Or you may get it right by changing the sort to something else.

  • Print Dialog Box won't Open

My husband has an Intel Mac Mini that has issues. He can't open the print dialog box from any application--Mail, Firefox, Quickbooks, Word, etc. He can't print anything at all because the dialog box won't open when selecting <file> and <print> or clicking the print icon if there is one in that application. I deleted the printers and reinstalled the drivers...nothing. I upgraded from OS 10.7 to 10.8...again nothing. I zapped the pram...still nothing. I've been using Macs for 15 years and this issue has got me stumped. Any suggestions?

I was unable to find the SavedData file.  I am running Windows 7 and there seems to be two files there /Roaming/Adobe/InDesign and /Roaming/Adobe/AdobeInDesing5.5 and neither one has a clear file name "InDesign SavedData" for me to remove.  I think I found the "InDesign Debaults" under the /Roaming/Adobe/InDesign/version7.5/en_US/InDesignDefaults.  Is that one it?

  • CS6 Photoshop: One newly-created PSD filewon't print because the print dialog box won't appear altho the file properties appear to be the same as other files that do print.

CS6 Photoshop: One newly-created PSD file won't print because the print dialog box won't appear after selecting File > Print.  Then "Print" becomes grayed out. The file properties such as permissions, are the same as other PSD files that do print.  This file also cannot be converted to Adobe PDF, which is not offered as choice under "Save as", whereas other can be.  I've exited, reopened Photoshop, restarted computer, checked out other CS6 PSD files which do print, nothing changes.  The 52 MB file has been flattened. OS is Windows 7.  Thanks for any suggestions.

Sounds like the printer driver is having some problems.
Try holding the space bar down when you select Print (which makes the print dialog NOT load previously used settings).

  • Select Imamge source dialog box won't show up, how to repair it?

My CS4 is doing very strange now, a lot of function is missing, the Select Image Source dialog box won't show up, the blue bar on top of menu bar won't show. Seems a lot of functions are disabled, is there a way to bring it back to normal?

If the Select Image Source dialog box doesn't appear, it sounds as though you have accidentally changed Dreamweaver Preferences.
Open the Preferences panel from the Edit menu (Windows) or the Dreamweaver menu (Mac).
Select the General category from the list on the left.
Make sure the "Show dialog when inserting objects" check box is selected.
If the blue bar on the top of a Spry menu doesn't display, in the View menu select the Visual Aids submenu, and make sure there is a check mark alongside Invisible Elements (clicking it toggles the option on and off).
If other settings have gone wrong, it's a good idea to delete your personal configuration folder. There are instructions on how to find it in the link supplied by Jon in the previous post.

  • Cannot use System Pref's/Network -- dialog box won't go stay gone

G5 running Tiger, browsers, Mail and other internet functions (DSL, PPPoE) work fine BUT: if I boot the Network app in System Pref's, it shows a dialog box that says "Your network settings have been changed by another application." If I press OK the box goes away for a second and then returns -- there is no way to proceed, or use this app -- the only thing I can do is for Systems Pref's to quit. In other words, it won't take OK for an answer!
Some notes: 1) Network diagnostics from the Help menu says everything is normal. 2) I did move my Ethernet connection to another computer to run that one -- this Mac was off at the time. I did not change any modem or router settings, and this Mac, as I said, works fine except for the above problem. 3) an app called "Internet Connect" in the apps folder will not boot (don't know what this is); 4) the utilities Netinfo Mgr and Network Utility don't tell my anything useful or at least that I can understand. How do I reset the SystemPref's/Network app or whatever it is so I can use it? Thanks.

  • Help Product Improvement Program dialog box won't go away

When I re-opened the beta version of Fireworks CS4 last
night, there was a dialog box asking me whether or not I wanted to
participate in helping Adobe with product enhancement by submitting
information on my usage of Fireworks, but the bloody thing will not
close. There's options to select yes, no and a few other things,
but whenever I select anything it won't go away. Does anyone else
have this problem? And if so, is Adobe aware of it?

Yes, this problem has been reported already in the CS4 Beta
    forum.
    Reading
that topic, it appears that only Mac users reported the error
so far, and the only way out was to quit and restart Fireworks. I
think it would be a good idea to post your case there too.

  • Password Dialog Box: Can we default to "not now" instead?

When the password/keychain dialog box drops down when you enter username/passwords on websites, the highlighted/default option is to add it to keychain.
Is there any way that this can be defaulted to "NOT NOW" .... like in Firefox.
This seems like the best option instead of defaulting to add it to the keychain. I have sometimes accidentally hit enter and had it add to the keychain (then I have to find it and delete it out again).

    Hi
Can someone help on this one please. The version is 11.5.9.
    Thanks

  • Keychain password popup boxes error

I keep getting pop up errors on my macbook pro asking for my keychain password. I hit cancel and a new pop up box comes up for a different software program.  I have to sit there and hit cancel...cancel....cancel....  I have tried all of the passwords I might have used and none work. I tried to delete the key chains and I tried to reset the keychain and it won't let me without the password

  • Program Error Dialog box won't go away!

Recently when I open almost any photoshop file, I get a dialog box that reads "Could not complete your request because of a program error"...when I click "ok" nothing happens, the dialog box remains and I can't do anything but force quit photoshop.  This has started happening out of nowhere.  Any ideas?

Can you raise the Preferences dialog with command-K and cancel that? (Probably not, but under some circumstances this may help with unresponsive dialog.)
Anyway, you don’t give much information:
    How To Get Help Quickly!
    Boilerplate-text:
As with all unexplainable Photoshop-problems you might try trashing the prefs (after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed) by pressing command-alt-shift on starting the program or starting from a new user-account.
System Maintenance (repairing permissions, purging PRAM, running cron-scripts, cleaning caches, etc.) might also be beneficial, Onyx has been recommended for such tasks.
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/onyx.html
Weeding out bad fonts never seems to be a bad idea, either. (Validate your fonts in Font Book and remove the bad ones.)
If 3rd party plug-ins are installed try disabling them to verify if one of those may be responsible for the problem.

  • Latest Java Update - accidentally dismissing the admin/password dialog box at the end.

I did a Software Update on around April 14 (including this update) and at the END OF THE PROCESS, I was presented with a dialog box with an admin login and password. At this moment, I accidentally hit the ESC key and dismissed the dialog box. Then, I restarted my Mac and hoping that I can repeat the same process again, but however it says there are no more updates. I did a "java -version" and it says it using Update 31.
What was that dialog box requesting the admin/username at the end of the process? Was it affecting anything significant (or something not installed) because I accidentally dismissed it?
(I am using my mac from a "Standard" (not "Adminstrator") account.)
    Kevin.

Download it from the apple site and run the installer that way:
Java for OS X Lion 2012-003
If you didn't give the installer the admin password it didn't install.  So doing an explicit download and installing that way should work.  Of course that too will ask for your admin password.

  • R&R 4.10 no Password dialog box displayed when recovering a Backup

    Hello all,
    I am using a T61 8898-6dg with XP and r&r 4.10.314
After reinstalling the system from a XP CD I tried to reinstall an R&R backup from a network share.
R&r starts well showed me the backup files and all the files included in the backup. So I was able to select the files I want to recover and the recovery process starts.
Because the backup is secured by a password, a dialog box should appear and asking for the password. But now, r&r stops and nothing happens. I think it is waiting for the password. But I cannot see an dialog box for entering a password. Even pressing the Alt and Tab keys to bring the dialog box to the foreground don’t help.
In the rr.log file, I found the following entry:
    Sat May 10 12:27:36 2008 RescueRecovery: Running: C:\Programme\Gemeinsame Dateien\Lenovo\mnd\mapdrv.exe *
Sat May 10 12:27:42 2008 RescueRecovery: No user found to display dialog '2', waiting...
The same problem I have with r&r 4.20
Any hint what I can do to be able to enter the password?
    many thanks in advance
    Juergen
    Stuttgart/Germany

when the magic mouse is not connected it seems to work fine, I usually click the trackpad and the system prompts me for a password - I enter my password and go back to work.
However every time the problem has occurred I have left the computer with the magic mouse connected, when I return I move the magic mouse, the screensaver stops "moving" but I don't see the prompt for my password, it's almost as if the password dialog is behind the screen saver.
    Hope this helps...

  • When I click on any Appleworks document or try to open Appleworks, I get a dialog box saying :Appleworks Quit Unexpectedly" I have a current model iMac running OS  10.6.8. My Appleworks is version   6.2.9. Any suggestions?

When I try to open an Appleworks document or try to open Appleworks itself, I get a dialog box stating: "Appleworks 6 Quit Unexpectedly". I have Appleworks 6.2.9 and my OS is 10.6.8. Any suggestions?
    Many thanks

There was a security update through Software Update a couple of months ago for 10.6.8 that caused this kind of problem for PPC applications. Apple issued a revised update a couple of days later. So my first suggestion is to run Software Update to make sure you have the updated update. You can also manually download the updater at this link.
Whenever AppleWorks quits unexpectedly or you force quit it, there will be some corruption of its preferences.
To delete AppleWorks’ preference files, go to HD > Users > Library > Preferences. Find and delete the file com.apple.appleworks.plist. Find and open the folder AppleWorks in this Preferences folder, then delete all of the enclosed files (with the exception of the Button Bar Preferences if you have customized the Button Bars). AppleWorks will recreate the preference files as it needs them.
