Keychain password popup boxes error

I keep getting pop up errors on my macbook pro asking for my keychain password. I hit cancel and a new pop up box comes up for a different software program.  I have to sit there and hit cancel...cancel....cancel....  I have tried all of the passwords I might have used and none work. I tried to delete the key chains and I tried to reset the keychain and it won't let me without the password

  • Keychain password dialog box won't quit

    Every time I open my computer, I receive dialog boxes asking me to enter my keychain password for various programs. Some of them say they need access to "Local Items" and are asking for the password to that. I type in my computer password, and it rejects the password as incorrect. I also try to close the box or click the "?," but it won't let me do this. I've went in and repaired my Keychain under First Aid to no avail. I took it to an IT department who cleared out my stored passwords in Keychain, but that hasn't stopped the problem either. Sometimes I can get them to go away temporarily, but it never lasts long. Any suggestions?

    Hello birdie.ks,
    We've an article that can help quiet your computer's need to unlock the 'Local Items' keychain.

  • How Do I Reset Keychain and Get Rid of All the Password Popups?

    I was away four a few weeks and just before doing so I had reset my user password? When I returned I couldn't remember it, so I had to reset it in recovery mode. After doing this and booting up I'm getting oodles of prompts to enter my Keychain Login which I do not know, so I do reset which doesn't take. Mail also asks for all my mail accounts passwords which I enter and do not take either.
    How can I clear all the Keychain info and start from scratch before I pull all my hair out?
    Lastly, I do not backup Keychain to iCloud.
    OS 10.9.4

    I talked to Apple Technical Support last night about it.  What caused mine to start popping up was that I changed my settings and created a login password for my computer.  It must not have been the same password as my keychain password so keychain password popups started.  Technical support had me reset keychain with the login required for my computer and now I don't have popups anymore.
    If you have AppleCare on your computer that is current, you can call technical support with any issues and they'll gladly walk you through your Mac troubles.

  • Why so many requests for keychain password in osx mountain lion

    Since upgrading to Mountain Lion I have been deluged with requests for keychain login password (which is the same as my user password).  I was getting requests from assistantd (sic) as well as osx itself.  I think the assistantd requests have stopped since I turned off dictation and facetime.  I have verified the keychain and even ran repair keychain even though verify found no problems.  Ideas?

    I have encountered the same issue.  I upgraded to 10.8 from 10.6.9 days ago, and I receive a keychain password request every 10-15 minutes (I know this after recording them in an effort to determine the issue). The requests vary, and are not perfectly timed.  I went to a local Apple Store yesterday to request some help, and a Genius repaired my keychain, zapped my PRAM, and booted from the 10.8 startup partition to run the following on my startup HD: Disk Utility repair, Disk Permissions repair, and resetpassword from the terminal.  These did not stop the keychain requests.
    There's no corresponding message or trigger listed in the Console.  I have noticed the following message occur sometimes within ~3 minutes after a keychain request:
    8/5/12 3:33:42.154 PM assistantd[6226]: <Error>: AceConnection - NSStreamEventErrorOccurred <__NSCFInputStream: 0x7fe2ac027520>, error = Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=54 "The operation couldn’t be completed. Connection reset by peer", domain = NSPOSIXErrorDomain, code = 54

  • How do I get rid of keychain popups? I never set a keychain password.

    Keychain popups happen CONSTANTLY since I got back from the Apple store when a manufacturer error required a hard drive replacement. I can't sign in to iMessage - although my password works to log me in to the computer, I get a keychain message immediately when trying to log in to iMessage. I get keychain messages almost continually through the day - 50x/day approximately. They vary in what they say.
    One of the many says "A keychain cannot be found to store registration v1". There are several other messages which I can't remember. I have tried a few of the ways recommended here. Oops, another one just popped up.
    Here is the sequence: "A keychain cannot be found to store KADiAdIDStorageKey."
    When I click "Reset to Defaults", it asks if I'm sure about that.
    I hit "Reset" get another popup:
    "Please enter your login password. This will be used to create your new keychain."
    I enter my Apple ID password and hit OK.
    Now a new popup appears: "iTunes wants to use the "local items" keychain". Enter password.
    I enter my Apple ID password and it wiggles (wrong password).
    I have to hit cancel to make it go away.
    It pops up, or "Mail wants to use the "local oems" keychain" pops up. I have to continually hit "cancel" all day long to stop these things.
    PLEASE HELP ME!!! I never set up a keychain password, don't know what it is, don't want it, don't need added security, never had this problem for the first year that I owned this thing.
    Thank you.

    It doesn't want your Apple ID password. It wants your computer's admin account password that you use to log into the computer.
    Tutorial: Resolving Keychain Issues
    If you can't access your keychain, or forget your password If you can't get into your keychain file because you've forgotten your password or the keychain file appears to be corrupt, there are a couple of options.
    First, if you've forgotten your password, you can use the "Keychain First Aid" utility to make the keychain password the same as the login password. This can be accomplished via the following process:
      1. Open Keychain Access (located in Applications/Utilities)
      2. Go to the "Keychain Access" menu and select "Preferences"
      3. Click the "First Aid" tab
      4. Make sure the "Synchronize login keychain password" box is checked
      5. Close the Preferences window
      6. Go to the "Keychain Access" menu and select "Keychain First Aid"
      7. Enter your username and password
      8. Click the "Repair" button
    The second option is to completely delete your keychain then recreate it. This routine is useful if your keychain appears to be corrupt or otherwise inaccessible. This can be accomplished as follows:
      1. Launch Keychain Access (located in Applications/Utilities)
      2. Click "Show Keychains" in the lower-left corner of the window.
      3. Select the problematic keychain from the left-hand pane.
      4. Navigate to the "File" menu and select "Delete Keychain '(name of keychain)'"
      5. Check all options for deletion and press "OK"
      6. Create a new keychain by going to the "File" menu, then "New" and selecting
          "New Keychain"
      7. You can now make this keychain your default if you desire by selecting it, then
          going to the "File" menu and selecting "Make '(name of keychain)' Default"
    Login as root and perform repair In some cases, problems with keychains can only be resolved when logged in as the root user.
    First, you want to enable the root user:
      1. OS X Mountain Lion: Enable and disable the root user
      2. OS X Lion: Enable and disable the root user
      3. Mac OS X 10.6: Enabling the root user
      4. Enabling and using the "root" user in Mac OS X
    After enabling the root user, and logging in under this account, again open Keychain Access. First attempt repairs using Keychain First Aid, and failing that, delete then recreate the keychain as described above while logged in as root.
    Persistently asked for stored passwords If you are persistently asked for passwords in various applications that you have specified should be remembered in a keychain, your "login" keychain may not be active for one reason or another.
    Navigate to ~/Library/Keychains/ (this is the Library folder inside your user's home folder). Find the file named "login.keychain" and double-click it.
    Failing that, select the "login" keychain within the Keychain Access application and make sure it is the default keychain by going to the "File" menu and selecting "Make 'Login' Default"
    Turn off Keychain synchronization in applications having problems If specific applications are experiencing issues when accessing password-protected material, the Keychain may be to blame.
    The above comes from an article published on MacFixit.com.

  • Every 20 seconds a box appears saying 'Safari (or mail or calendar or iCloud) wants to use "login" keychain. Please enter the keychain password.' How can I eliminate the need to keep on putting in my password?

    Every 20 seconds or sooner a box appears asking for my keychain password. It can be for Safari, Mail, Calendar, iCloud. How do I get rid of this?

    go to the Keychains Menu>Keychain First-Aid and select "repair". If any errors appear, rerun until you get a clean pass.

  • Unable to type in the "login" keychain password

    When I switch on my iMac G5 I am asked for my keychain password: but I can't type in the space provided. I can still use the computer normally, e-mail, internet etc. are all unaffected but the pop-up box asking for the keychain password won't go away, (and won't allow me to type in the password).
    The message I get is, "com.apple.internetaccounts.xpc wants to use the "login" keychain"

    Only thing that got me around this was a clean install of Mavericks on the new Mac and , when I used migration assistant, avoiding transferring the network settings. It was my mother in law's Mac so I essentially only transferred her documents and mail messages. I then went back later and manually transferred the music and photos. I ' knew' there was some issue with the OS itself because I had tried to clone the old system with Super Duper as an extra back up and even that balked with an error. Shrit Pocket Supprt read the error file and it was they who divined that that my "old" copy of OSX was corrupted. Plus I was umm more familiar with this scenario as this was the second Mac that I was having this issue with. Admittedly both the upgrades in question were from Macs that had been transferred and transferred and transferred etc so I am not surprised that there was something crappy that had got passed through. Bottom line: clean install of Mavericks then manually move over what you need is the cleanest way in this scenario unfortunately. Yes a whole lotta work!

  • Repeatedly asked to enter Keychain password now...?

    Macbook Pro 17" ... I leave it powered on nearly all the time. It's connected to a Cinema display & I have the bluetooth keyboard & mouse so I just put it in sleep mode when not using it.
    Left for an overnight trip and shut it down & disconnected the power supply. Upon my return any time I go to a website where I need to enter a password (email, etc...) a Mac OSX dialogue box pops up asking me to enter my keychain password.
    This has never happened before and I'm not even sure what my keychain password is. How can I reset that?

    OK, if you haven't try this...
    Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
    *Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
    Then Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot.
    The usual reason why updates fail or mess things up, is if Permissions are not fixed before & after every update, with a reboot... you may get a partial update when the installer finds it doesn't have Permissions to change one obscure little part of the OS, leaving you with a mix of OS versions.
    Some people get away without Repairing Permissions for years, some for only days.
    If Permissions are wrong before applying an update, you could get mixed OS versions, if Directory is the slightest messed up, who knows!
    If many Permission are repaired, or any Directory errors are found, you may need to re-apply some the latest/biggest updates.

    Hi Abdul,
    I guess that you want the user to be able to modify the data in the table & then have the changes made saved to database. Right? SAP recommends using a BAPI for doing the same. (Using a [Service Call|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/9cb5d345-0801-0010-6a8e-fc57c23fd600] you can call a BAPI from within your component & get the desired functionality.) If you however intend to just try out a sample example in your IDES then you can directly try using the normal ABAP MODIFY statement on the database table. Try check the sample code snippet below.

    I am going to the Genius Bar tomorrow so will ask the question!
    Thanks for your help Linc.

    Mail Keeps Asking for Password
    Maybe this will help. If you monitor the "More Like This" box (top right), other threads appear. Opening them usually displays other threads.

  • Keeps asking for keychain password when i open programs

    i open safari, it asks for a password. I open almost anything and it asks for a keychain password, and i put the password i use to login to my username and it says it is wrong. I want this off, i dont want this coming up, so how do i go along doing this, especially without the password?

    I'm not entirely sure this will work if your keychain is already locked, but try this:
    * Log in as the user who is having the issues
    * Open up System Preferences -> Accounts
    * Make sure the user under "My Account" is highlighted
    * Enter a new Password (you'll have to enter your currenty password first).
    Note: this does not have to be a different password, you can use the exact same password you are using now, but you must re-enter it.
    * Re-enter your password in the Verify field.
    * Click on the Show All Button or any other button to get System Preferences to save your changes.
    At this point a pop-up menu should show up telling you your keychain password has been reset. You may have to log out and back in again, but you shouldn't be getting the keychain pop errors any more.
    Alternatively if you don't have anything important in your keychain you can always delete your keychain and it's preferences, of course then you'll lose all the information that's stored there.

  • Flex Mobile - Alert and Information Popup Boxes

    Since a Android-looking popup box doesn't yet exist in the Hero SDK, I thought I would put a pretty good looking component together.
    You can download it (and the sample code) here:
    http://www.digitalretro.tv/components/InformationBoxTest.fxp
    A real simple example in in the project, for both an Info and an Alert.
    I currently only support an "OK" button, but I will be adding a Yes/No and OK/Cancel later this week.
    Hopefully this will save someone some time.
    Enjoy and feel free to use this in your code (commercial or non-commercial), just leave the copyright code in the component source file in place.
    Thanks.

    I tried the Messagebox and it works great but is it possible to use a TextInput with it?
    I added a Textinput and when i enter the Textinput i got an Focusmanager is null error:

             isMouseDown = true;
             mouseDownTarget = event.target as InteractiveObject;
             // If we already have focus, make sure to open soft keyboard
             // on mouse up
           if (focusManager.getFocus() == this)
                 delaySetFocus = true;
             // Wait for a mouseUp somewhere
             systemManager.getSandboxRoot().addEventListener(
                 MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, touchMouseUpHandler, false, 0, true);
             systemManager.getSandboxRoot().addEventListener(

    Does anyone tried to use a TextInput or Textarea?
    I think it's the a problem with the Keyboard. Does mobile air can't use the "Android" Keyboard in Popup's?
