Keychain rejects password, even though it is correct (I'm 100% sure of it).

After trying to open my backed up os 9.2.2. keychains in the OS X Tiger iteration of Keychain access but seemingly being unable to (it asked to add the certificates to the keychain, which I did, but nothing was actually added and import doesn't work either), I decided to use classic instead.
When classic was running I opened keychain access, opened the selected the keychain, and it asked for the password. All good so far. Now I know the password to these keychain files. It's a simple password and easily remembered. I have entered it thousands of times over the years I used OS 9, it always worked. Well it did when I was booting from OS 9. When I enter the password however in classic, it fails saying the password is incorrect.
All three keychains I have fail with a wrong password error. But this simply cannot be because I am absolutely 100% sure the password I am entering is 100% correct. I'm not entering it with caps lock on or anything, I even made sure I was typing it correctly by typing it in a text file. Keychain access simple refuses to open the files. It says the password I'm entering is wrong, but it isn't.
Is there anything I can do to rectify this problem? I have tried erasing the preferences, then restarting classic, but it makes no difference. I tried making a new keychain with exactly the same password and that worked fine. It just doesn't like the old keychain files for some reason.
I can no longer boot into OS 9 either, not without doing a complete reinstall anyway which I'm not willing to do. Something is wrong somewhere but I don't know what. Anyone have any ideas? I'd appreciate it. In fact, it'd be much better if I could actually get the keychain to work with the OS X version of keychain access but I guess this is the wrong forum for that question.

I fixed it myself, I just used my backed up OS 9 system folder to start Classic and then I was able to enter the password and access the keychains. Why the newer system folder that came with OS X didn't work is beyond me.

Well are you absolutely certain you know your password. This is a risky troubleshooting step because it could kind of make the situation worse, you should try to forget the network on your computer and really make sure you can enter your password again on another device.
It might just be a capital letter or something that is tripping you up.
If you are having an actually wifi hardware issue it doesn't pop up with an error about an incorrect password. Theres other errrors for that. Incorrect password errors only pop up because there is an issue with the password

Open Keychain Access in Utilities, use Keychain First Aid under the Keychain Menu item, then either check the Password under that item, change it, or delete it and start over. See if there are duplicates, should be one for Incoming & one for Outgoing.

Wants password even though it's got it

I noticed since I loaded Entourage that Mail's been acting a little goofy. It'll prompt me for the server to use when sending a message and sometimes ask me for the password even though it's stored in the Account settings and on the keychain.
I've since deleted the mail accounts from Entourage but it still does this.
Any ideas here?

Since upgrading to osx 10.8.2 sleep requires password even though i have set to open automatically.

Try reinstall iPhoto:
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.
If that fails then I think you need to reinstall the OS.

I would be helpful to know what those "basic steps" you have already tried are, but lacking that information:
Settings app > iTunes & App Stores - sign out of your AppleID
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
Sign back into your AppleID (same location as noted above)

The amount of RAM is not dependant on the operating system. It is all about the model of you Mac.
10.6.8 is the version of OS X that is installed on your system. It has no real baring on the amount of RAM that CAN be installed.
Personally I have never had good luck with Corsair RAM. I have always had good luck with Crucial and Kingston.

Thread pool throws reject exceptions even though the queue is not full

Hi. I am using org.springframework.scheduling.concurrent.ThreadPo olTaskExecutor which is based on java
java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor
with a enviornment under load.
I see on some cases, that this thread pool throws tasks with reject exception
even though the queue size is 0.
According to the documentation, this thread pool should increase the pool size to core size and then wait untill all queue is full to create new threads.
this is not what happends. for some reason the queue is not filled but exceptions are thrown.
Any ideas why this can happen?

I had the same issue and managed to solve it.
Go into Mail>Preferences>Accounts
Then in the account information tab, at the bottom should be outgoing mail server (SMTP) and click the drop down box
Mine had a few different servers in it so i went into edit SMPT server list. Click advanced and it will tell you which ones are going from which email address.
Delete the ones you dont want, and it should work or instead of deleting click use only this server, i imagine that will work to

Do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

I was having the same problem. After reading a few threads, restore your Apple TV to its original factory settings (approximately 15-20 minutes) and try logging in again. It just worked perfect for me!

I'm not aware of a way to reset the password for an encrypted backup. If you have forgotten the password for an encrypted backup, your only alternative is to put the phone in recovery mode and restore it as a new device. Your data will be lost.

Not remembering passwords even though "remember my passwords" is checked in security

I recently updated to Firefox 4.0. After that, websites are not remembering my username and password even though, "Remember my site passwords" is checked in Security.
Looking for resolve.

I mean that if I go to a site and enter a username and password, I am not prompted to remember the information and if I am, when I close Firefox and reopen and go back to the site, the information is blank, nor does it appear if I start to type the first few characters.
If I go into the password manager to look for sites that should have password information there is nothing in the box.
I am going to try to be specific regarding my settings, please keep in mind that this is how they have been set since I started using Firefox and up until I upgraded to 4.0 I had not problem.
*In Privacy the settings that I have always had checked are:
Remember download history
Remember search and form history
Accept cookies from sites
Accept third-party cookies
Keep until: I close Firefox
Clear history when Firefox closes
*In Security settings that I have always had checked under Passwords are:
Remember passwords for sites
Also, when I select under View -> Toolbar: Menu Bar and/or Bookmarks Toolbar once I close out of Firefox and then reopen it, they are no longer visible.
The option for Permanent Private Browsing is not checked.
