Keycode problem tryng to access BO Crystal Reports Explorer

Hi,
I´m receiving the message "You do not have the correct keycode installed to use this option"  when trying to access BO XI R2 Crystal Reports Explorer, and I don't know why,  because i have already registered the product and  it´s the only application of the suite not working and asking me "a correct keycode".   Is it possible that it has to do with the evaluation, temporary keycode used during setup? Must I get an unlimited license for BO XI R2 in order this app to work?  Or exists a way to use a separate keycode only for this app?  Please help me

Hi,
The link you provide points to SAP marketplace logon validation, but because of the fact that I don´t have a marketplace user and password, it is necessary for me to request a password.   Then,  I try to generate one using Option 2 and for that the system asks for "Customer or Installation number" (and suggest that it should be found in System -> Status or Help -> About).
How can I find Customer or Installation number, in my BusinessObjects Enterprise XI software?

  • Problems with parameter button in Crystal Report Server  2008

    Dear all,
    I have problems with parameter button in Crystal Report Server 2008.
    when I created some parameters and groups in Crystal Report 2008, they showed both parameters in 'Parameter button' and group in 'Group button'  on the left, so I can choose or type without clicking 'Refresh button' But when I added it to Crystal Report Server 2008 and I click parameter button , it doesn't show any parameter. Only click refresh button to choose them. On the other hand, for 'Group Tree' is ok. When go to Default Setting-> Parameter, all parameters are in 'Unused parameter'  First time I think I had problems with my installation, but when I reinstalled it again, it was like before.
    Could any one help me with this?

    We are using BO XI R2 version.
    1. Under this version, the BO Enterprise product consists of Crystal Reports Explorer feature through which we can develop the crystal reports.
    2. And under the same version, the Crystal Reports XI R2 product consists of Crystal Reports feature through which we can develop crystal reports.
    I want to know, wheher there is any difference in the features for developing crystal reports through point 1 and point 2. If yes, then which product is the better option to go for Crystal reports development. (please note: I want the all the scheduling, automatic printing, printing on pre printed forms, etc features to be supported)
    Please help us to solve this confusion ASAP.

    The server info still needs to be updated. Are you setting location for each subreport also?
    Possibly this registry key will help, I only have CR 2008 installed so you'll have adjust for what ever you are using:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions - VerifyStoredProceduresOnFirstRefresh = No
    and
    VerifyStoredProceduresOnSetLocation = No
    And
    VerifyWhenDBDriverUpgraded = No
    And
    ViewOutOfPlaceSubreports = No
    Close CR designer before making any changes. And the usual warning about modifying the registry.

  • "Catastrophic Failure" trying to export from Crystal Reports Explorer v10.5

    In using Crystal Reports Explorer v10.5 (add on to Crystal Enterprise v10) I am trying to export just over 211k records to MS Word. 
    The data is coming from a Business View (created in Business View Manager) that uses an OLEDB connection to an Oracle database.
    I get the following error message:
    CrystalReportVIewer
    Error caught in ICrystalReportGridViewerImpl::render
    webReporting.dll '0x80004005'
    Catastrophic failure
    line: 16031
    I have no idea what's causing this or how to resolve it.  Can anyone assist?  Thank you!!

    No - it doesn't work with any of the viewers and the same error occurs.    I think we've determined that it's due to the amount of data and the % of resource allocation in order to export the results.  The query behind the data is pretty complex, and the Oracle views that are being accessed are also pretty beefy.  It's just a huge hit on resources.  I've advised my client to provide more filters & reduce the amount of returned rows to see if that clears things up.  I'm waiting to hear if they are successful.  Thanks for responding, though!  I'll update once I hear from the client.

    We're using Crystal Reports Explorer within BOE XI R2, and have noticed that when saving a report and reopening it the order of the fields changes. It seems to happen all the time and there doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to what happens. Does anyone know how to keep this from happening?

    You need to update the "Object Changeability" in BW for Crystal report objects.
    to do this:
    1.  run transaction /nRSA1
    2.  Select the transport connection tab
    3.  click the "Object Changeability" button
    4.  Select the "Crystal Report" line item
    5.  right click and select "Everything changeable"
    6.  Exit transaction

  • License problem when trying to install Crystal reports XI on Win 7

    I'm trying to install Crystal Reports XI on a machine with Win 7, the installation in successful on older machines with Win XP.
    I'm trying to upgrade the programs we use at work, but this install fails.
    The installer doesn't accept my old license/registration/activation codes.
    How do I solve that?
    Do we need to buy new licences for our development?
    Is there anyone I should mail about it?

    One problem is XI is not supported on Windows 7. Multiple configuration problems with DEP. You may have to turn it off completely. Search forums on DEP and you'll find lots of postings on how to.
    It's possible the the keycode.dll can not be register. Try copying it to our install folder if it's not there already and then use regsvr32.exe "path to dll.keycode.dll" and then try again.
    If that doesn't work you have a few options, use Process Monitor to see what's missing or upgrade to CR XI R2 ( 11.5 ) for free. Go to this link: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc and download the trial version of CR XI R2 and use your XI keycode, then apply the patches which you can get to by clicking on the BusinessObjects tab above, then Downloads.

    SP 6 does support Windows 7. Only issue is exporting to MAPI ( Outlook 2007 e-mail ) and it's bee tracked and the fix should be out sometime this year.
    Other common issues is possibly the 1.1 and 2.0 .NET framework is not there or needs to be updated.
    YOU also MUST be a local PC Administrator and have full rights to install programs, browse to the setup.exe and right click on it and then select Run as Administrator, that may fix the issue also.

  • Problem with keydecoder.dll in Crystal Reports 2008 Trial Version

    My company is interested in purchasing Crystal Reports 2008 and has asked me to download and try the trial version.  However, I have been running into a keydecoder.dll problem.  Setup was smooth and here are the details:
    Problem message:
    "Crystal Reports: Application Error Couldn't load keydecoder.dll"
    I have Windows Vista and I have already configured all permissions and administrative rights to the problem to full control.  I have also attempted to drag the keydecoder.dll application extension out of win32_x86 to the file folder crystal reports 2008.  I have also already attempted to reinstall and making a new program file location named 'Crystal Reports 2008'. 
    I'm running out of ideas and would appreciate some help.  Thank you

    To resolve the error message

    My name is Agustin and Im using Crystal Reports for VS 2005
    and NET 2.0 to generate pdf files. This is the scenario:
    I created a COM+ object in c# and everytime the
    COM+ creates an instance of this object, the following flow is executed:
    it reads an xml file from a database, then it feeds the report with this
    xml file, afterwards it generates a pdf file and finally this pdf file is
    inserted into the database. Both fields (xml and pdf fields) are varbinary in the
    same table in sql server 2005. All the flow from reading the xml to inserting
    the pdf into the database is executed in memory, it never goes to the hard
    disk. In other words both the xml and the pdf file are stored in memory (the
    RAM). That is the only function of that COM+ object and I already have it in a
    production server and it works GREAT!!
    The PROBLEM is the concurrency tests. I made the following tests
    in the same production server:
    1. First I went to the registry and I set the PrintJobLimit to
    100 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARECrystal Decisions10.2Report Application
    ServerServer
    2. I shut down the object in the COM+ and I executed 100
    threads all at the same time. Each thread created one instance of the object in
    the COM+ and the 100 pdfs were generated SUCCESFULLY in 5 minutes!!
    3. Then I executed again 100 threads (WITHOUT shutting down the
    object in the com+). 10 pdfs were generated succesfully but the rest were
    never generated and there was no exception because my object was NEVER
    INSTANTIADED in the COM+, I mean, the 90 instances were never created in the
    COM+, so my object was never executed, THAT IS MY PROBLEM!! Do I have to
    modify something in the registry files of crystal reports to fix this? What can
    I do? I have revised the code in that object a LOT OF TIMES and believe me,
    everything is being closed and disposed at the end (the memory streams, the
    ReportClass objects, the connection to the database, even the dataset used to
    store the data of the xml file!
    So to sum up the problem is not with the execution of my object
    (cause once is created the object works great and the pdf is generated
    perfectly!), the problem is with the com+ TRYING to create another instance
    of my object given that test scenario. Help me please, What do you
    suggest?
    The production server has this specifications:
    Operative System: Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition with Service Pack 2
    Processor: Dual Core AMD Opteron 2212 2.00GHz
    RAM: 820MB
    Hard drive: It is partitioned in 2 drives --> C
    drive has 20GB and D has 60GB
    Note: Each generated pdf has only one page and if you bring it
    to disk its maximum size is 56KB

    Hi Vijay,
    I found out another method of retaining all the chart formatting that is done in the preview pane.
    Once you have done all the changes then you will find interestingly there is a chart menu option that appears in the tool bar. Once you click on it there is an option "Apply Changes to All Charts".
    Select that option, close your preview. Open it once again and you will find that all the settings are still there and the Web Viewer is able to display them properly.
    I think that I resolved this.

  • Strange problem with publication based on crystal reports, bwquery and DynR

    Hi everybody,
    I found the following behaviour when executing a publication based on a crystal reports document ontop of a BW query and dynamic receipients. This is what the personalisation looks like:
    _____________________Default Value
    PARAM1____________ null____________ @param1 based on my dynamic receipient list
    PARAM2____________  null____________ @param2 based on my dynamic receipient list
    PARAM3____________  10____________ Default value for all receipients
    When executed this happens:
    - the publication starts
    - the query is executed with the default values for the parameters
    - the query is executed for every receipient with the correct, personalised parameter values
    I am sure, the the query is executed with non personalised values because a) there is a cache entry on bw site and b) when one of the parameters is filled with an invalid default entry under personalization I get an bapi error.
    I am not 100% sure but I think this problem is new since SP3 or a 3.x fixpack. Has anyone faced the the same problem yet? Maybe Ingo knows something about it.

    thank you very much for your reply. I am speaking of the default value entered under personalization in the publication in CMC or InfoView.
    The report only has parameters based on BEx varialbes.
    If needed I can post some screenshots.

    If you were running the same version designer and server, you could open your reports straight from the repository, and save them straight back. Then you wouldnt have multiple versions of RPTs flying about.
    I have just purchased a new licence for 2008 and an 2008 upgrade for a Xr2.
    I don't think I completely understand, but we do have Crystal Reports 2008 and Crystal Reports Server 2008 available for purchase.

  • Problem with subrpt links in crystal reports 8.5 (cr 9 and 2008 installed)

    I am trying to add a subreport to an existing CR 8.5 report.  I currently have Cr 8.5, cr 9 and cr 2008 on my pc (xp).  The subrpt is pointing to a sql 2005 stored procedure that has a parameter (@vvcrCono).  When I try to set up the link, the parameter  is not listed in the of available parameters to link to.  I select a field from the available fields on the main report, hit the > to move it over as a field to link to, and the dropdown that contains the list of parms to link to on the subreport will change to ?pm-(fieldname).  I do not see the parm list from the subreport.  I am unable to get the link defined.  This occurs even when trying to edit an existing subreport.
    Is there a problem with running these crystal report versions on the same machine?  Or am I just missing something? It has been a while since I've used cr 8.5.

    Joanne, thank you for your posted solution and specifically your mention of miniscule scroll bar of the 'subreport parameter field to use' drop down, I had been on several forums but none of them mentioned this, my subreport now accepts the passed parameter and main report works well. Hope your post helps others as it did me, only wish we could include a graphic to illustrate this as I have seen same question posed several times and several different msg boards.

  • Problems printing pdfs generated by Crystal Reports X

    The printers in our office area were recently upgraded to Xerox Work Centre 5632 printers using Managed Print Service.  We are now having issues printing reports from within the application to any of these newly defined printers.  The Arial font, which is commonly used on the majority of our report templates, is displaying as a series of squares with readable letters or numbers thrown in randomly.   I don't know if the issue is limited to Arial, or if other fonts behave similarly.  I have tried to print several different reports to several different print servers and printer combinations, all with the same result. When viewing the report online, or saving as PDF and viewing, it looks fine.  If we save the report as a PDF, then select "print as an image" (on the advanced tab of the print menu), the report will print correctly.
    Is there any way to either change the report design or a setting in Crystal Reports to prevent this from happening ? This problem did not occur when using a different printer.

    This is not a Crystal Reports issue.  It is a printer (or printer driver) issue.  Does the printer support Arial font???
