Hi to all
I am working in HR module BI 7.0 in a personal administration there is a two keyfig No of Employees And No of Action Type , what is a difference between them , and what scnario we use them , i got a detail abt No of employees but i am not able to get details abt No of action ,
kindly suggest ill assign apoint

Conditional Calculations (IF-THEN-ELSE)
You can make conditional calculations using Boolean operators An expression in the form
IF<Logic Expression> THEN <Expression1> ELSE <Expression2> can also be made using a formula in the form
<Logic Expression> * <Expression1> + NOT <Logic Expression> * <Expression2>
Example: IF Actual Costs > Plan Costs THEN Plan Costs + Plan Deviation ELSE Actual Costs
can be written as the following formula:
(Actual Costs > Plan Costs)* (Plan Costs + Plan Deviation) + (NOT (Actual Costs > Plan Costs)) * Actual Costs
or
(Actual Costs > Plan Costs)* (Plan Costs + Plan Deviation) + (Actual Costs <= Plan Costs) * Actual Costs

Keyfig data is not correct in acube

hi to all
through the flat file , i am loading a data , i have taken time in , and time out as a keyfig , time in data is not coming properly , 80511and it is coming 22:21:51, working in a 7.0

should 85011 be read as 8:50:11 AM ??
I think the format for time is hhmmss - please use the right formats in the flat file.... try giving the same as 085011 and check
Also what is the infoobject you are using and any conversion exits you have used here ?

Can we do copy and paste on calculat keyfig

Hi BI Experts,
i want to create same calculated keyfigures with minor changes repeatedly .................so is there any possibilities to copy and paste calculated keyfig.............i tried copy but its not giving option paste enabled, i also tried doing copy and save its also not working.
is there any possible to do this??

Hi Thulasi,
You can very well copy CKF and paste it in Query i.e,similar to drag and drop.
But the issue is you cannot modify a CKF once you dragged to query.so copying wont really serve your purpose
I still prefer the option of creating a local formula.otherwise you will see whole bunch of CKFs in the left side and diificult to trace which one is used in which query

Hi Rekha,
Virtual key figures: Will not be stored in the cube. Will be computed at run time when he query is executed. The are virtual in nature and not physical. When you view the cube's contents in listcube, you will not see it there. This is not the same as calc key figures. example: to store sales in your cube and this has o be allocated to all the group companies with a business logic, in this scenario you can code the logic in an exit and derive these virtual key figures. Another example is, when you report on no of days outstanding of your debtors. This will vary depending on when you the run the report. So, a exit can be coded to compute this run time. This is classical example of virtual key figure.
Virtual characteristics: Same as above. Here you will derive the characteristics while report is run.
Depending on the requirements, you must decide when to code for a virtual kf or cha and when to store them in the cube physically.
Virtual characteristics and Key figures are useful if you want to dynamically pouplate data from the fact table to the field.
Virtual key figures are key figures within an InfoProvider that are not filled with data. Instead the key figure value is determined at runtime of the query using custom ABAP coding

Virtual key figures and charecteristcs are populated at query execution time.
These virtual objects should be included in the modelling level itself,so that it can be used in the query while using exit in that.

InfoObject/KeyFig: Minimal (fist) and Maximal (last) Date

Hi Experts,
I want to see in my Inventory-Cube the first and the last material movement.
Therefore I've 2 InfoObjects (KeyFig.) - Type "Date" - with Aggregation MIN and MAX.
MAX works fine - it delivers the last Date in my report. But with MIN I've a problem:
There are many records in the cube where the InfoObj. date(min) is empty and therefore the MIN-Date is always 00.00.0000.
Do you have any hints?

Hi,
For this you need to compress the cube with the zero elimaination mode, so that you can eliminate the zeros from the cube.
For conforming that the zero values has eliminated go to se11-->give the table/bic or /bio/ecubename then select the key fgures there you will not find zeros

How to use previous year keyfigure data in current year for other keyfig

Hi Expert,
I have 1 requirement wherein I need to use previous year data for some keyfigure calculation.
Details are as follows:
I have designed query with CKFs Turnover & UVG (in rows) & Fiscal year period in columns.
Suppose Keyfigure Turnover data is displayed from Apr2009 to Mar 2011. In UVG: for Apr 2010, i need Turover data of month Apr 2009, for May 2010 turnover data of May 2009 similarly for other months.
As per my understanding, I need to use customer exit which will store kf turnover data in internal table & in turn it will be used for UVG.
But I'm not able to put it into syntax.
Kindly suggest your inputs in this scenario.

How to display a keyfig without showing UOM in report

Hi
Our users donot want to see Unit of measure along with keyfigure in reports, how do we do this? If it is quantity, in FI area, it gives for something like 1000.000 HS0 or HS 2 etc... How can we change the property on key figure not to display this Unit of measure? Any help would be appreciated. Another question I have is how to delete certain query views from centralized location.

I have the same question. I have a key figure with Quantity type and UOM PC. I want to display quantity number without the units PC.
I think NODIM() function applies it to all key figures right? How do i apply it to only one key figure. the rest of the key figures I want units to be displayed.

How to populate multiple records into 1 using addtl keyfigs

Hi Gurus,
Please take a look at this scenario.
I have 3 records coming from source system.
ex:
key dateid startdate enddate
c    1      d1         d2
c    2      d3         d4
c    3      d5         d6
i need to populate these 3 records as one into the infoobject based on dateid.
(dateid =1 then kf1=d1,kf2=d2;dateid =2 kf3=d3,kf3=d4 dateid = 3 kf1=d5,kf2=d6)
i added 6 key figures ( kf1 kf2 kf3 kf4 kf5 kf6) as attributes to infoobject.The final
record should look like the below one.
key kf1 kf2 kf3 kf4 kf5 kf6
c d1 d2 d3 d4 d5 d6
Could you pls give me some thoughts on how to do this in a better way.
Do i need to write update routine or just the formula in update rule is enough ??

Hi Ramesh,
The scenario you have mentioned looks really complicated reason being, maintainance.
Combining 3 records to one is possible in Start Routine. But it will be an expensive one.(I mean loopin)
Pseudo code:
LOOP AT DATA_PACKAGE.
Check which records satisfy your criteria and fill a Temporary table. The fields will be your entire record to be appended to the fact table.
Endloop.
Delete your Data Package.
populate the Temporary Internal Table onto the Data Package.

Rounding of Keyfig value

can you please tell me do we have any formula function which will give me rounding off values like if its 50.3 it should give me 50 and if its 50.9 it should give me 51.
I know we can do it at BEx level but i want to do it at Infoprovider level.
can any 1 please provide me with ABAP ocde for that

OK I just reread your post and have one comment: if you round your values at posting time you will generate an error since
SUM(rounded VAL) <> ROUNDED(SUM VAL).
If you can leave with this fact then ABAP should look like:
DATA: i TYPE I.
MOVE COMM_STRUCTURE-<yourfield> TO i.
"i = COMM_STRUCTURE-<yourfield> would also make it.
RESULT= i.

Keyfigs in the same columns without distrubing eachone

I am a newbie in the BI..and i have some problem.
how can we get two KF in the same column?
i have 52 weeks in the column and along with that i need amount column also.how can it possible.i dont want to see weeks at amount.

i took employee as the char and amount,quantity as kf.
but the problem is when i am executing the Query,weeks are comeing along with amount also.i need weeks with quantity only.

Do you need to display the weeks in a column? If you only want the total there, pull the Week characteristic out of there and leave it in the Free Characteristic section.
If you do need the weeks there for another key figure, you are going to have to create a structure - each week will have the key figure within that selection and then a selection with all your weeks selected as a range and the Amount key figure.

. Now I need to Analyzing these TOP-5 Vendors over last 12 months (01/2006 to 12/2006). For this I created new report with 12 selections restricted by each month. For testing I have restricted it directly with (01/2006, 02/2006u2026.12/2006), but we can also replace it with Dynamic Variable based selection.

restrict the calendar year characteristic with value 2006 and put the calendar month characteristic in the rows or columns of your query without any restriction.

Keyfig sign ignored

Hi All,
I am working on IP retractor, this retractor is using a query in the BW side and after the retraction, and there is an FM which uses fmcycopi_bw to do the retraction. The customer can see the data in FMRP_RW_BUDGET. Now the problem is not in ECC it is in BW , and this issue is also after patching there is one record which is not showing the sign propery it ignores the value once it reaches the cube, this could be because of patching as this worked before. can somebody give me some light on it.

Calculated keyfig for Document count with exclusions

Hi,
I have to create a ckf document count with exclusion, with the following logic
"If RFK_MR8MCOUNT ==0 then count equal to 1
Else If RFK_MR8MCOUNT <>0 then count equal to 0"
RFK_MR8MCOUNT I already have it.
Pls guide me which datafunction to use & how to implement it in the formula editor.

I don't get all the formula's posted in this thread, they don't make any sense. For example (and all others like this one):
NODIM((( X == 0 )1 + (Not( X == 0 ))0 ))
First off, NODIM on a logical expression makes no sense at all, there is no dimension to a simple 0 or 1
Second, (X == 0) will result in 0 or 1 (true or false), the *1 is of no added value
Third, (Not(X==0)) * 0 will allways result in 0. ALLWAYS!
You can get the same result as the above formula by using:
(X==0)
If that is what you need, a reversal of your count statement, use it.
