Keyframes and type animation

hey there,
one quick question, i can't figure out why i can't animate the tracking parameter in the type section on final cut pro x.
i just want to put a strating point keyframe and an ending one, which i do, but it refuses to animate at all.
when i press playback i can see the paramter values altering but i can't see a movement on the tracking of the letters.
anybody that does have a clue on this issue?
why everything changed that much in fcp x? fcp 7 for ever!

There are Text Animation behaviors in Motion. Mixing behaviors with keyframing in FCPX is disastrous (and most of the time, can't be done -- like -- animating the Mask shape -- behaviors are in use linking the onscreen controls with the shape points.)
Try this out. It is VERY basic:

It is a basic centered title - at "lower third position" (or close.) Use the text panel of the inspector to customize the text; the onscreen control to drag it to the position you want.
There's a Track In and a Track Out -- you can apply whichever you want by using the Build In and Build Out options. For the Tracking animation, there is a Fade In/Out behavior to smooth it out (you really can't get tracking far enough to "disappear" all the characters reasonably [I gave up at 5000%].)

Managing keyframes and reusing animations

Hi, I'm working on a cutout TV series in AE cs6 using the puppet tool, and am missing a few features I am used to from flash:
1 - is there a way to push forward (or backward) all the keyframes in all the layers from a certain point (like F5 does in falsh)?
2 - if I want to re-use animation from other episodes. is there a way to import the animation without re-importing the source files (which are similar in all the files)?

as to #1, I'm looking for a way to move groups of key frames without having to choose them - I have 80 layers or more, and if I wish to change the timing of the animation I need to select the keyframes in all the layers, through the whole time span - an action that is for some reason very hard for my computer.I also have to make sure that all the keyframes are visible, so I don't miss a rebellious keyframe.... I am looking for a script or action that would allow me to stand on the tiemline at point X, press a key and move all the keyframes from point X and right, one frame forward. Or... if this is not possible, a script that would allow me to select all the keyframes from point X and rignt without having to physically select them.
meanwhile I precomp the layers and then time re-map the comp, but I don't think this is a good solution - it's heavy for the rendering, and is very clumsy in general....
as to #2 - thank you, I will try the animation presets. I guess ti is similar to animation clips in maya....
As you probably know, in flash you can copy a symbol from project A into project B. If the symbol from project A contains library objects with the same names as objects in project B, flash will ask you wather to replace the old objects with the new ones, or use the old objects. I guess that is because flash can't hold two objects with the same name in the library and After effects can. So I was looking for a simple solution like that. one that does not require you to keep the layers in the same order....

I'm putting together a music video for my students to promote a choir club at a school. In doing so, I would like part of the video to scroll from left to right.

I know it has everything to do with keyframes and knowing how to use them, but I'm having difficulty trying to figure out the coordinates of the anchor points, and where they have to be, and when. It's really a math and logic issue...
I have already exported an entire video and have created a new project where the entire video is in one clip. (Does this make sense?)
Any help on this issue would be super appreciated.

Default Keyframe Interpolation Type?

Is it possible to change the default keyframe interpolation type? Every keyframe I make is bezier and I want them to be linear. Its a huge pita go in and change them all.

Wish you could, but no. You do know you can change the interpolation for all keyframes on a parameter at once by using the animation menu in the keyframe editor? You can also change the interpolation for multiple parameters at the same time by selecting them all first.

How do I swap a symbol on each keyframe of my animation ?

I have a VERY big animation, with a huge amount of keyframes, and I like to swap a symbol in this animation with another one.
If I just use the swap button on the first frame, Flash only swaps the symbol for the first tween, whereas I have hundreds of tweens in my file...
So how do I do this for every keyframe in every tween ?

You can try Firefox Safe Mode to see if one or more of your add-ons might be causing the problem. Also clearing the cookies for the site might help. The site loaded with current date and animation on my system.

At the present time, the only way to clear that is to restore the phone as new. Perhaps a future iOS update will give us the option to clear that cache.

The new but not-ready-for-prime-time autocomplete method searches for matches that contain the entered text, not just ones that begin with the string. Your options are:
1) type in longer strings that narrow the search
2) use an add-on to search just the beginnings:

Why are animated GIFs in Firefox 11 slow? I downgraded to Firefox 10 and the animated GIFs suddenly play fine again, so I am positive that the update messed up the playback delay of animated GIFs somewhere.

Self-explanatory. I am positive that the GIF I am viewing is faster than what it's supposed to be. I viewed the same animated GIF in another browser and it plays fine. It just plays slower in Firefox 11. I downgraded to Firefox 10 and the animated GIFs were fine again. I upgraded back to 11 and yet again the animated GIFs slowed down. This happens for all of my animated GIFs.
I like viewing my animated GIFs, and since I don't have any problems yet with Firefox 10, I'll be sticking with it for a while...

Yes I have exactly the same problem, and it has NOT been solved yet in Firefox 14. Please Mozilla, what is the use releasing more and more "major upgrades", Firefox 11, then 12, then 13, then 14 (one per month !) if you don't even care to fix the big problems ? Log in to your account, and move all your files to your home folder. No other users should be able to access them there and they won't show up with a Spotlight search.

The Mail app on the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch does have an option to clear previous recipients. You can learn to live with it. But if you want to get rid of it, the only way to remove these cached email addresses from the Mail application is restoring the iPhone/iPod Touch as a new phone/iPod. If you restore from backup, the cache is also restored.
