KeyListeners... and a numericKeyHandler ... Urgent help needed !

Question

This piece of code(below) was written to ensure that the data inputed in the JTextField are only of numeric characters.. i get errors... few errors : e.consume(); is not an expression ...
Why is it not an expression ? i'm just applying consume method to e to disregard that event...

Not sure what is wrong with your code, but there is a better way to validate numeric data. You should create a custom document that only accepts numeric characters. Here is a link to a section in the Java Swing tuturial that gives an example of such a document:

The reason this approach is better is because it will also work for code that is 'pasted' into the JTextField.
