Keynote 09: can you control length of dashes in a dashed line?

Previous versions let you control the length of the dashes in a dashed line. Now, not so much. Or have I missed some secret way to alter the length of the dashes?
This retrogression in functionality is super annoying. Why would anyone think that (a) all dashed lines would look best at the same length of dashes, and (b) keeping the ability to control the length of dashes would be too confusing?

  • CRM 2011: Can you control which form is used based not security roles, but on a field value?

I see that you can control which form is used based on security roles, but can you control it based on other field values?  I'd like a new record to use a different form until a given status is updated.  I have a status of draft and active. So
it would be nice if I could use form1 for those in draft, form2 for those that are active.  But I only see where you can control that via the security roles.
I can code all of this via JavaScript, but having the ability to use two separate forms would be nice.  Is that even possible.
    Best regards,
    Jon Gregory Rothlander

  • Can you control Lion on your desktop with an iPhone?

Can you control Lion on your desktop with an iPhone?  I do not want to buy a wireless trackpad.  Who needs all those batteries?  Hoepfully the iPhone can control it in the meantime, and then they need to make wired trackpads.

I guess there are multiple ways in which people interpret the same sentence. Not everything is obvious to everyone.
If confused, people generally ask in the forums.

  • Using APex with Airtunes from an iMAc can you control playing tunes?

Hi, got an imac at Xmas, am looking into Airport stuff, and found this APex, with wireless play of iTunes music, Ive been looking into the Philips streamium and stuff doe playing tunes.
My question is once setup from your iMac to play music wirelessly how can you control it? Ive read the manual but doesnt say anything. So can all you do is press shuffle on the iMac and then it plays everything?
I know you could do playlists and stuff, but I have all my music, kids music, wife's music in my library, so theres a real mixture, and Im sick of listening to High School Musical!!
So can you contol the song playing, ie skip etc with it?
    cheers

iTunes needs to be running in order to stream music to the Airport Express so therefore - no - the Mac running iTunes cannot be in sleep mode. It must be powered up and running, though you could blank the screen if you wish.
Why did Apple not build the function of the Keyspan Express remote into the Airport Express. Likely because it would have increased the cost of the product by 50%, while at the same time adding a feature most people would be happy to live without - in other words, not a great idea from a product marketing perspective.

  • Can you control the OS Volume from Flash

hi guys, Can you control the master windows OS volume from
    within flash.
My understanding is that within the soundobject.volume, 100
mean 100% of the current windows volume setting.
Can control the windows setting seperatly as well (the same
    way you could/can in Director)?
    Rich

Yes - the JavaScript that's in export.js was rolled into inline code in the Java jar files sometime during version 11.5.
    It's no longer customizable.
An option is to use HTTP Filter on your Java Web App to modify the outgoing JavaScript instream, but that's never a pretty solution.
    Sincerely,

    there is not.
perhaps it would help to turn off the Snap To Grid menuItem?

  • Can you control default length of JPEGs?

Quick question. When I import JPEGs or other still images into the timeline the default length of time is 10 seconds? I'm working a project with a large quantity of JPEGs. Can you alter this time length to, say, 4 seconds?
    If so, how?
    Thanks,
    Shanked

Yes, I had actually already tried to alter that setting, unsure if it would work. It didn't work. What was also of note was that the field had previously been entered as 12:12 as in "twelve seconds and twelve frames" and yet the timeline had been defaulting to 10:00 as in "ten seconds flat."
    Any explanation for this?
    Any alternative solutions?

  • Can you control the Discoverer Portlet Size on the Portal Page?

I have a Portal Page and I need the ability to control the Portlet size. The width seems to take on the dimensions defined for the region, but how do you control the dimension for the depth/length. Thanks.

The size of the container is controlled by the Portal Page author through Portal, not the Discoverer Portlet. Unfortunately, I don't know exactly how to control this and it may be different from 9.0.2 to 9.0.4 (not sure which version you are using). You can check on the Portal forum.

  • How many client computers can you control with the $79.99 version on Mac App Store?

I mean client computers by the ones you control, not by the admin computers.

    From: http://www.apple.com/remotedesktop/
    No Per-Client Tax
Apple Remote Desktop 3 is incredibly affordable. With the Unlimited Managed Systems edition, you can manage any number of client computers — there is no per-client charge.
Apple's website says Unlimited Managed Systems, There are probable some technical limit, but i've never found it. How many client computers do you want to manage, are they all on the same lan? same subnet?

  • Can you control layer visibility via AS 3.0 ?

I am new at flash.. but I can't seem to find this answer. I
am building an app with 2 panels. A control/preferences panel and
the main panel for the app. How can I control the visibility of
each panel via AS 3.0 ? So if a user
hits a button, up comes the preference layer. user closes
this window. then back to the main layer.
    thanks a ton!
    mike

Layers mean nothing to Actionscript -- they are merely a tool
to help organize authortime created content. At publish they are
use by the compiler to assign things to depths and then they go
away. In a publish file there are no layers.
The dominant paradigm in Flash (with respect to Actionscript)
was the MovieClip. Now it is more the DisplayObjectContainer and
the various classes that decend from there -- Sprite and MovieClip
being most likely. I'm not as up on my AS3 as my AS2, so I might
overlook a bit, but that is the general idea.
So if you have a "panel" (we can't tell you what that is, you
have to ell us!) and it is something distinct that needs
controlling you should probably make it a MovieClip (if it has a
timeline) and a Sprite if it is AS generated. Also each distinct
type of those would maybe need its own external class to give it
the methods and properties you would need to control and interact
    with it.

  • HT201335 can you control video from computer when you airplay

I just added Appletv and connected my Computer and TV. I now see my TV but how do you control your computer from your tv or maybe you don't the remote does not do anything pertaining to the computer i see on the TV

You control the computer the same as you would normally. The image is simply being mirrored to the Apple TV, you cannot control it from there using airplay.
If that is what you are looking for then you need to search for a VNC client.

  • Can you help me understand these 2 update rule lines

    Hi,
ODS1 has field1, field2 with data. Field1 and field2 have also been included in ODS2 and I see the code which reads from ODS1 to fill ODS2: i.e. in the startup routine for ODS2 I see:
Data: begin of i_logxxx occurs 0,
    Field1 like /BIC/AAlogxxx00-Field1,
    Field2 like /BIC/AAlogxxx00-/BIC/Field2
    end of i_logxxx.
    1. I know that developer was bouncing from screen to screen copying
/BIC/AAlogxxx00-Field1 to paste in the code.
I can’t seem to find where this was copied from.
I double clicked on Field1 and by going through the maintenance screen of this infoobj, the closest I find is /BI0/MField1.
    2. Also, why is it that in the case of Field2, it is not
    AAlogxxx00-Field2 but AAlogxxx00-/BIC/Field2
    (trying to understand the format)
    3. Can you explain the significance of these BIC, AALOG, AA and 00 in the following:
    /BIC/AALOGODS100
    4. Also, does logxxx in i_logxxx necessarily have a relation to same in
    /BIC/AAlogxxx00-Field1
    1
    Thanks

    Hello Amanda,
    1.Data: begin of i_logxxx occurs 0,
    Field1 like /BIC/AAlogxxx00-Field1,
    Field2 like /BIC/AAlogxxx00-/BIC/Field2
    end of i_logxxx.
When you want to see the tables of the ODS ,
    Goto SE11 or SE16 and give /BIC/A<ODSTechName>00
Actually there are 3 tables Activation Queue (/BI0/A(ODSTechName)40), Active table (/BI0/A(ODSTechName)00) and Change log table (/BI0/B<10 digit number>)
The above will be the same for customized except /BI0/ it will be /BIC/.
    2. Also, why is it that in the case of Field2, it is not
    AAlogxxx00-Field2 but AAlogxxx00-/BIC/Field2
    (trying to understand the format)
Normally when its a generated code it will be like BaseTable-Field Name so the field can be used with /BIC/ or without also since you are giving the base table first.
    3. Can you explain the significance of these BIC, AALOG, AA and 00 in the following:
    /BIC/AALOGODS100
As I said in BIC, C stands for Customized Object. AALOG refers to the change log table which will be used for delta loads. AA and 00 denotes the Activation table, if its 40 instead of 00 then its activation queue.
    4. Also, does logxxx in i_logxxx necessarily have a relation to same in
    /BIC/AAlogxxx00-Field1
i_logxxx is an internal table where they have taken few fields from ODS1 and here /BIC/AAlogxxx00-Field1 is a field of the internal table i_logxxx.
    Hope its clear.
    Thanks
    Chandran

  • Can you control videos in Keynote for iPad?

Just got hold of my first iPad and I'm putting together a simple Keynote presentation on it. So far really impressed with how slick the Keynote app is, apart from one thing however...
When you include a video on a slide, there seems to be absolutley no way of controlling it. Am I missing something here??
I've got a 1.5 minute long video on a slide. When I tap once, it starts playing. However that seems to be it... there is no way to pause, scrub, or even start the video again...all you can do is tap again to advance to the next slide, then swipe back to go back and start the video again.
Seems crazy?! The app has so many other advanced features I would have thought this one was quite easy...
    Any help appreciated!!
    Thanks!

You might have better luck getting an answer in the iWorks for iPad forum. Not all of us here have an iPad.

  • Can you control a MacBook Air with an iPad?

First off I wasn't sure where to post this so sorry if this is in the wrong place.
I teach in a small rural high school that has decided to implement 1-to-1 technology this school year.  All students will be issued an iPad (3rd Gen), and all teachers have been issued an iPad (3rd Gen) along with a MacBook Air (I'm assuming it is whatever generation is currently new).
So here is my conundrum.  Our school does not provide all teachers with a projector to use for presentations and such.  This means that I have to lug around my personal projector if I will need it in class that day.  What I am trying to figure out is if there is a way to control my MacBook with my iPad, while the MacBook is connected to my projector?  Ultimately I would like to be able to walk around my room with my iPad in hand with access to my MacBook and projector set up to control presentations, show things from the internet, or whatever else comes up.
I am assuming there is some way to do this, but I really am not sure where to look since I am still fairly new with the iPad.  I've looked at apps like iTap VNC, but I am unsure if this is what I am looking for or if there is something else to consider.  Any expensive programs (over $20) or equipment is out of the question since I have to pay for it myself and will not be reimbursed.  I am unsure if this matters either, but the school is not providing us with any programs such as Keynote or other presentation programs.  I am currently using Open Office on my MacBook.
I should probably also add that I have seen questions about using the iPad with a MacBook Pro.  I was just unsure if similar solutions would work with this scenario.
Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

You need a remote app. Look at Team Viewer and Splashtop Remote. Both apps will allow you to control the computer from the iPad. I use Team Viewer a little now and then and you do have to get the hang of the movements and such, but both of the apps are for remote access of your computer.
