keynote '09 loses images & crashes in both 10.6.8 and 10.7

Keynote 1 came with some stuff that was stored here:
Hard Drive>Application Support>Keynote>Image Library
there should be some .key files in there that you can open in K2 or 3 and copy and paste the images out of onto your own stuff.

Keynote 6.0 Images Disappearing

We do a lot of work within Keynote 6.0 and every time we add a new images to the presentation all other images disappear and we are left with a grey box with a cross and a question mark. It doesn't do this to all presentations but quite a lot, and also it seems to be when we add an image to an old presentation that already contains images. The new image we add appears ok, but any images that were previously in the presentation disappear.
We have been having this issue for a few months but have never been able to find an answer.

Opening Keynote version 5 files in version 6 will cause these problems, if thats what your doing, only open keynote 5 lies with Keynote version 5.

How to export Keynote presentation as images that retain their order

When I build a Keynote presentation that I then export as images to show in photo album Keynote exports the slides as sequentially numbered images. When the images are uploaded to the iPad the order becomes random. Any one know a way to force the iPad to display the images in the desired order?

You can choose File > Print and then choose from the Print output options, including Slides, Slides with Notes, Outline, and Handout. You can also modify the Print outputs from the Options column on the right.
Then on the bottom left of the Print dialog box, you will see a PDF button. Click on that button for options, including Save to PDF. This will create a nice PDF the selectable text and can include the slide for recognition and recall, as well as copy and paste into other applications.

IPad Air stuck - will I lose images?

My iPad air seems to be stuck…on screen is the iTunes logo and image of the USB connection cord, when I connect it asks me to RESTORE factory settings, but I will lose all data. I took 800 photo's this week and it also seems my iCloud was not downloading the images, nor was my iMac. So I cannot lose the pics - HELP

Export to PDF loses image resolution in CS5

I am creating some artwork in Photoshop CS5 at 72dpi. the work is crystal clear.
I then place the file as a jpeg or as photoshop file and again in InDesign the image looks great.
If I then export to PDF the artwork goes very fuzzy in Adobe Reader.
At the file type I am selecting - PDF (Interactive) rather than (print) and the following options are selected below.
I have tried changing the values but may not have reached the right combination.
The main reason I am confused is that when using illustrator my vector artwork never loses quality in PDF format....
Can a PDF be created without image quality loss???

It won't arise for you now that you've set the Reader to be viewed at 72 ppi.
But if you send that to me it will look very blurry as I have mine set to 110ppi.
You could have saved the images as 96 ppi and it would have looked perfect in Acrobat.
But the whole point is that will look different depending on who's viewing it and what their setting is.
You personally shouldn't have a problem anymore using 72 ppi images, there is no need to save higher res images for yourself. But keep in mind that if you are sending this to someone else their Reader will be set to most likely 96 ppi. So perhaps you should consider using 96 ppi images or 150 ppi images in future.

Bug: Mail loses image metadata

When you use mail to send an image, the image loses its metadata. This is especially annoying with regard to losing the date the picture was taken. When mail sends images, even if it has to create images of a new size, it should retain the metadata associated with the images.

Keynote error: 'The image couldn't be inserted'

Hi everyone,
Every time I want to insert an image, it keeps saying: 'The image "<image name>" couldn't be inserted.' It does this while using 'Insert > Choose..' and with drag & drop. Please tell me how to fix this. Keynote is unusable for me this way, and I really really need it for work purposes :/
BTW i'm using Keynote 6.5.2, but i also had the same problem when i was running 6.2.2.
Anyone? I'm at a loss here..

Okay, so I found myself in this same wrist-slitting situation, and just tried doing a bunch of different things.
What seems to work is this:
Create a new Keynote file.
Drag the slides from the "corrupt" Keynote file into the new Keynote file.
The photos will still be missing, but you can "replace" them now ... if you don't remember which ones they are, select the missing picture in the "corrupt" file and then check the file name of that photo in the "Format" tab in the Image tab. Then in the new file, click on the missing photo and go to "replace" to get the correct photo back into your slide in the new file.
In this way you at least still have your Animate build-ins and build-outs, as well as Transitions and Sizing and Positioning ... BUT DO DOUBLE-CHECK ... I had a few that had to be adjusted, I confess.
This solution is FAR LESS THAN IDEAL, but given the radio silence from Apple on this, I guess those of us out here in the hinterlands need to jerry-rig the system as best we can. Good luck!

Keynote deleted my images after upgrade? Not acceptable.

Keynote's updated functionality was already a step backward—but the fact that upgrading to 6.2 has now caused images to disappear from my presentation? That's unacceptable.
This is a massive FAIL, Apple.
I use your products so I don't have these issues. This experience is not remotely close to my expectations.

A similar problem here too.... Upgraded to 6.2, opened a file created in 6.1 (just last week!) and get the error message "This presentation may look different. Some images are missing because they were deleted from the document." Where is the attention to this? It has been happening for a while now:

Save as PDF from IE loses images

Hello,
I am dealing with a problem.
I have Acrobat XI installed.
I can open a letter in Internet explorer. This letter contains about 12 images. When I try to print the letter I chose Adobe PDF so it saves as PDF.
Now the problem, when the letter is saved and I try to open it not all images show.
So i tried again. The second time I had the same problem only different images were missing, I tried this 5 times and every time i tried other images were missing.
Also I tried to troubleshoot the proces and came to the conclusion that the problem had to be Acrobat.
Is there a limitation on how large the file can be, or is it another problem?
I would like to use it on Internet Explorer.
If someone knows the solution or an alternative in Internet explorer that would be very nice.

Is there a place holder there? If so, go to the Edit>Preferences>Page Display and turn on View Large Images.

OPENING VIDEO I LOSE IMAGES THAT DON'T SHOW

GREETINGS, I COMPLETED A RECENT PRODUCTION.
BUT WHEN I OPEN THAT FILE IN ELEMENTS PREMIERE
THE IMAGES I INSERTED INTO PRODUCTION ARE NOT DISPLAYING.
WHERE MIGHT THEY BE? WHILE IN PRODUCTION THEY WERE DISPLAYING IN MY
PROJECT ASSETS, EASY TO UPLOAD INTO MY PRODUCTION.
I'M FINISHING PRODUCTION BUT I DO NOT SEE THE IMAGES ALREADY IN
PROJECT ASSETS.
HOW CAN I GET THEM TO DISPLAY, SO THAT I CAN MOVE FORWARD IN PRODUCTION.

What version of Premiere Elements and on what computer operating system is it running?
For now I will assume Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
1. Go to and open Project Assets palette. Look to the top left of Project Assets and see three icons.
From left to right, they are Show Hide Video, Show Hide Image, and Show Audio. Please assure that all 3 are in the Show mode.
2. Since your opened project apparently has no assets, please check the name of the opened project to assure that you have not somehow overwritten the project that you are looking for and have opened a new project.
3. If you have worked with the AutoSave On during the creation of the project, go to the Adobe Premiere Elements AutoSave Folder and
determine if you can find an AutoSave file which will have most of the content of the missing project. In Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit, the default location
of that Adobe Premiere Elements AutoSaves Folder is
Libraries
Documents
Adobe
Premiere Elements
13.0 , if you are working with 13
and in the 13.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements AutoSave Folder which has the AutoSave files.

Export: lose image quality?

if i export my photos as originals (chosen from the drop down menu on the export popup window), will i lose any photo quality? i am hoping that the exported photo will have the same quality as the photo stored in iphoto. thanks!

right. and if you select 'current' i would assume that it would export the current version of the photo byte for byte without any quality loss as well?
i thought this was probably how it worked...just wanted to be sure because when selecting either option (original or current), the quality drop down menu is not available shows 'medium.'

CS5.1 Fireworks edit loses images?

I create a slide show with Fireworks - Black (flash plugin not required)
everything goes fine
I want to add some slides or edit the captions and I open an existion slideshow
everything is there, I do the editing and hit the create button. When I launch in the
brouser, all the images and thumb nails are gone and I see a boxes with a little X
in the corner. Any idea what is happening. I have tried everything I can think of.

Lose image rotation when moving files.

If I copy all of my images and the Lightroom folder containing the database from my desktop to my laptop images which I have rotated turn back to their original orientation. I am preserving the file dates, so I cannot fathom what is going wrong here. This is exceedingly annoying. Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening?

Exporting to xmp obviously does more than write xmp files. I did it on my entire image collection and it has written to every jpeg and dng file. I presume what that option does it export Lightroom data to the image file and in the case of proprietary raw files write it into an xmp file.
I have a load of xmp files associated with dng files (because I converted from RAF files to dng), should I delete those?

Wenn ich von meinen Fotos ein Poster bestellen will, kommt die Meldung vom Fotolabor, dass die Qualität nicht brauchbar ist. Dies, obwohl die Fotos alle scharf sind. Habe es inzwischen mit einem Poster versucht, dass ich schon einmal bestellt habe. Damals kam die Meldung über die Qualität als 'optimal' zurück und jetzt fürs gleiche Poster als 'unmöglich'. Dies ist meiner Meinung nach, erst seit dem vorletzten Update von iPhoto. Kann mir jemand in Deutsch helfen???? Besten Dank!

Ich wurde 'hinter den Kulissen' zu Hilfe gerufen, weil sich hier nur recht wenige Deutschsprachige tummeln.. meine Domäne ist ein ganz anderes Programm (iMovie) und mit Bildbestellungen aus iPhoto hab ich leider keine eigenen Erfahrungen..
Wir haben jetzt hier zwei Möglichkeiten:

Zunächst mal müssten wir ein paar Eckdaten wissen, .. was ist die Quelle des Bildes? Kannst Du in iPhoto/Apfel-I mal drücken, uns ein paar Daten zur 'Auflösung' geben? Und schließlich wie aus iPhoto heraus 'bestellst' Du? Ich vermute mal stark, dass da beim Export 'was schief läuft.. (denn wenn's vorher ging...)

kelli did allready ordered a 'high quality print out' with that specific photo, and got from the print service the feed 'file is excellent'... now, trying to place a 2nd order, 'same' file got a 'not usable for print/low quality' ..
I assumed, somthing got wrong in the workflow 'from within iPhoto to service' and asked kelli for some details..
if you like to join, I try to translate (and send kelli to a German speaking site.. )
