Keynote 09 to Powerpoint with media files

Can anyone direct me to a tutorial etc. that walks me through the export command Keynote to Powerpoint, "BUT" allows the media files (usually .mov) to transfer as well?
I have tried the "making a folder with the media files (.mov, .avi, .mp4) and the converted Powerpoint (.pptx or .ppt) but nothing seems to work.
Thanks,
Doc

Yeah, my son (grade 6) attempted to export his keynote '09 to powerpoint and that was a disaster, most of the photographs resumed their size and positioning prior adjustments made earlier in keynote. then tried to export as dvd and I kept getting messages about something to do about a fault with earlier in the chain. i cannot remember. so then tried to save it to dvd with manual adjusting i kept getting that message. then clicked onto timed adjusting and it worked. so i think its got something to so with the manual adjustment.

  • Archive a playlist with media files and the song settings

    I want to remove a body of songs from out of my library (Holiday and Christmas -- surprise, huh?) and yet have it ready to reimport next November, complete with song settings -- for example, I go through and amend the play volumes rather than using Sound Check.
    If I delete the songs from my main library, but keep files, I realize I still have them, but do I have to go back into my folders next year and find all the songs again? ... by Artist, I guess, since that's how the folders are organized.
    One year I burned the Holiday playlist with the media files as a data CD, and that worked okay, but didn't retain the individual volume adjustments I'd made.
    Thanks

    Are you trying to add songs to a smart playlist? If so that would explain the behaviour. To add songs to a smart playlist you need to adjust the rules or modify the tag so that it meets existing criteria.

  • Again Trouble With Media File

    Recently, when I opened a project, I got a msg saying that it couldn't find one of the media files called Untitled5 (which isn't the name of the scratch file anyway.) A section of my movie had disconnected media. When I reconnected, all the in and out points were screwed up, so I had to re-edit that portion. Now it happened again with the same media file, but again it's not searching for the file by it's name. It says Untitled5 cannot be found. What's happening?

    How are you searching for the file? Right click on any column header in the browser and open "show path" you'll see what the media is connected to. In FCP 6 if you're running that, you can modify the media file name to match the name of the clip too from a command in the Modify? menu.

  • IDE (Yellow) Problem with media files

    Hi...
    When i try to play any media file from the hard disk that is connected to the IDE (Yellow) the file do not play well. The sound is disoriented and the movie freeze for about 2sec. When I connect the same HD to the IDE (Blue) everything is OK.
    Also I try to run CoreCenter without any good result... PC Alerts it is telling me that of the voltage is supposed to be between 10.0v to 13.0v and said 5.xxv ???
    I already install the new bios. Any ideas?

    Do you have the unreleased BIOS 1.2? Did it fix incorrect temp readings in BIOS?
    But anywho, I have a similar problem, media files dont play well, Im connected to the yellow, but it only happens when my DVDburner is working on something, so I cant listen or watch anything when Im burning,
    Corecenter doesnt work either, but Ill quote the release notes:
    version 1.6.8.0 (6/16/04)

             MS-7053 (ClockGen :ICS 954130BF,Linear over clock , watch-dog , SouthBridge: Intel 82801FB,NorthBridge:Intel 925X)
    But now there a new verison 1.7.0.0 of Corecenter so...
    But did the 1.2 BIOS fix anything on your computer? Is it more stable?
    I think your problem lies in the BIOS, or at least it sounds that way.

  • HT3698 Keynote to Powerpoint with sound

    I have to submit a project in the power point format.  I can't submit a quicktime movie.  I only have Keynote, so I created the project in it.  Now I can't get it converted to Powerpoint and keep the narration with it.  Any solution?

    Keynote 6 cant export to PowerPoint which contains a narration.
    This might be changed in future updates but no one knows yet.
    I have to use PowerPoint for Mac to get this done.

  • I had made ppt with gif files.however the animations are now working when in keynote. Can u help?

    I had made a PowerPoint presentation and have lots of gif file with animations. But when I opened it with keynote, the gif files don't seem to work. Please help

    The inspectors on your iPad are there but disguised - the 4 icons on the upper right are Styles (brush) - that allows you to modify attributes of a selected object such as color, font, position, etc., it is contextual so will vary depending on the object selected; Insertion ("+") - this allow you to insert shapes, tables, charts and media (images and movies located in the Photos library); Tools (wrench) - this menu allow access to transition & builds, sharing and printing, a find feature, your presenter notes, some advance settings, and MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL - the HELP File where you can learn how to use your Keynote application.
    The Help file and the Getting Started presentation are the best way to learn how your Keynote works.
    Good Luck,

  • How to insert media file in keynote

    Is ther any way to insert or import audio and video (media files) in a Keynote presentation ?
    Then it is possible to export it for PC format like PowerPoint or the opposite, build the presentation in PowerPoint then import in Keynote ?
    Thanks

    Drag and drop the file from its location on to a slide in Keynote.
    Keynote can create a Powerpoint file Share > Export > Powerpoint
    Powerpoint does not have the ability to create Keynote files.

  • Keynote to flash- could not export media file

    alright. so I am an after effects guy with no experience in
    flash, although i do have cs3 including flash. (working on a mac).
    long story short... i have a keynote presentation (or i can
    convert to ppt) that is completed. I have swf videos i placed in
    the pages which play back fine before i export. when i export, i
    get a warning that "media files on slides.... could not be
    exported."
    ive tried different videos, different codecs, everything. Ive
    tried using a new project in keynote with one page that has nothing
    but a video, still get the same issue.
    now i have exported my project as a flash file without the
    videos, and am hoping to open this file in flash and be able to add
    the video layer on top of where it should have originally been.
    but the tricky part is... the presentation must be manually
    controlled by the viewer, and with each clip, they need to decide
    when to perform the next action, including playing the video.
    i open up flash, and realize how much i have no idea what im
    doing. do i write code? where do i pull up the code from and what
    do i add? do i add a new layer to the timeline? ive been banging my
    head and gotten nowhere.
    when i originally exported from keynote to quicktime, it
    worked perfect. unfortunately for my dads business, we need a flash
    format since most of the auto dealerships run off of pc's without
    quciktime installed.
    any help, advice, guidance, or a point in the right direction
    would be greatly appreciated.
    THANK YOU!!!
    -Micah

    Hi Guys,
    Fixed it.
    I followed steps I found regarding this similar problem from another forum which I'll post here:
    1 - change the extension of the fla to zip so you can unzip the fla into its folder structure (flv).
    2 - within the LIBRARY folder, there is likely some asset that is causing the problem. you must figure out which one (or more) it is. you can do this by simply removing files from that folder until your file opens successfully (open the flv file in the root).
    3 - once you have the xml files that are causing the problem, you can actually fix them by going in and removing the empty frames. in mine, the part of the xml i removed looked like this:
    <DOMLayer name="Layer 2" color="#9933CC" current="true" isSelected="true">
              <frames/>
            </DOMLayer>
            <DOMLayer name="Layer 4" color="#FF4FFF">
              <frames>
                <DOMFrame index="0" keyMode="9728">
                  <elements/>
                </DOMFrame>
              </frames>
            </DOMLayer>
            <DOMLayer name="Layer 3" color="#FF800A">
              <frames>
                <DOMFrame index="0" keyMode="9728">
                  <elements/>
                </DOMFrame>
              </frames>
            </DOMLayer>
    Basically look for any <frames> tags that don't have anything in them. These are harmless to remove as they are not adding anything to your file anyway.
    Now you can open the .flv and save it as a .fla again if you wish.
    Good luck everyone

  • How can I exchange my pc created documents on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with my mac and my Pages, Numbers and Keynote created content with my pc?  I need to create and edit between both.

    How can I exchange my pc created documents on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with my mac and my Pages, Numbers and Keynote created content with my pc?  I need to create and edit and exchange between both types of operating systems.

    Your Windows system will not open any Pages, Numbers or Keynote documents. No applications exist for Windows that can open those formats. You will need to export your documents in Word, Excel and PowerPoint formats, respectively, before you'll be able to view and edit the documents on your Windows system. The iWork documents can natively open Word, Excel and PP documents, though there are limitations on what can be imported (for instance, Numbers does not support all possible Excel functions). Consult the documentation for the relevant iWork application for details on importing and exporting.
    If you are asking how to get the documents from one system to the other, then there are several ways to do that, including file sharing, using an external drive (hard drive, USB flash drive), or emailing the documents to yourself. Which would be best for your situation I can't say without more details about your usage.
    Regarsd.

    after failing to move my data with migration assist, then target disk mode - i phoned Apple - which said id need an external drive.
    I used time machine to copy my user data from my G5.  However Lion will not recognize the external drive.
    Ive been at this for a few days and anxious to expedite the move, mostly photos, and media files.
    If Re-formatting is the only way.....is there a way to  do so without another day of re-copying by firewire.
    The external drive is a Ciel Lx , recomended to me by apple.

  • Adobe MEdia Encoder Crashes with big files inputed

    Hello,
    There isn't a forum for the Adobe Media Encoder, so I thought this would be a good spot. I am an after effects and Premiere user who likes the idea Adobe seems to have of using the media encoder to cover all my encoding needs.
    My typical workflow, especially since these days I'm doing more shorter form animations, is to render out to a Quicktime Animation codec file as my main archive file. From there, output all the various different web versions, flv, etc from that core archive file. Since my projects usually aren't running more than 5 minutes, this leaves me with a nice 3 - 7gig file.
    Problem: I'm running CS4 and the media encoder crashes when I input files that are in this file size range. The program locks up when I push start que, and then eventually crashes. Works fine with smaller size files that are about under a gig.
    I can run a render out of after effects, which seems to be more stable. But I'd love to be able to use this great new tool.
    Here's my machine specs if it helps:
    PC
    Intel Quad Core Q9550 @ 2.83 ghz
    4gB RAM
    Windows Vista 64 bit ultimate
    All updates current for CS4 apps as of 01/30/08
    Running Adobe Media Encoder V 4.01.078
    Hard drives are nothing special. 7200 rpm western digital internal and external. I've tried all sorts of hard drive configurations, where the input is coming from, where it's going, etc. No difference.
    I have been experimenting with using Lossless AVI's as my "uncompressed" archive file. Works well, but same crashing with the Media Encoder.
    Also tried experimenting with frame size alterations during encoding, no difference there. Also, whatever the output codec is, be it FLV, H264, etc. no difference.
    Anyone have any thoughts or have experienced similar issues? I hope all my MAC friends aren't right, seems like all my attempts to streamline my workflow with this CS4 and beefy PC combo are crashing and burning.
    Anyone else feeling this pain, or have recommendations?
    Thanks,

    Thomas, thanks for your suggestions on Vista optimization. That Sheer Codec looks nice, but hard justify the cost when I've been working for years with essentially uncompressed codecs that work well. Will play more though to see if the cost would actually pay off in the long run though.
    In general I made a decision that it was too early to throw in the towel on my old uncompressed codecs. The Quicktime animation codec has always been for me the safest, most universally accepted, and most reliable "uncompressed" codec. It's always worked in the past, not gonna give up just cuz media Encoder CS4 has troubles.
    Mylenium, thanks for the reminder about the silly platform wars. I've always felt the same as you, but when I'm stressing sometimes the silly propaganda can get to me. Makes me forget that no matter what system ya got, it never works perfect!
    Here's an update. I have trying my best to learn more about the bug and have come to some interesting realizations. The AME does work with larger files, just not the larger files that I had been using at the current moment. Older files of mine as big as 20GB can be inputed into AME with fine results.
    This being said, it scratches out most of the RAM overload thoughts with AME.
    The difference with my current files that were causing AME crashes: larger than a few GB, came from AE, had the 1.21 pixel aspect ratio metadata.
    When I re-interpreted the file in AE into a square pixel aspect ratio, exported it, it was then successfully inputed into AME.
    I have read just now that there were changes in After Effects widescreen pixel aspect ratio interpretation in CS4. Can this change be causing problems in my AME. Not positive, but I'm now thinking after many days of testing that the bug could have its roots somewhere in this ball park.
    If anyone from Adobe is reading this, I would love any ideas you might have on this issue. In general, there is really no support for the Adobe Media Encoder itself. This is not good, considering how it is so necessary for AE and Premiere users like myself.
    Thanks,

  • Default application for media files reverts with a fresh boot

    I want my media files to open with VLC as the default application. I do the whole work-around: I select the file, I go to "Get Info," I choose "Open with: VLC" and I select "Change All" to use the application to open all files of the same type. That all works. And it works with other files of the same type.
    If I restart my computer, or if I shut it down and start it up again, Quicktime is the default again. I have been able to permanently set VLC by using "Open with"- "Other" - and then selecting "Always Open With." But I don't think this is a great solution.
    Is there any way to make "Change All" stick, even after a fresh boot?

    Rebuild the LaunchServices database by running this one-line command in the Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/)—copy & paste:
    */System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchS ervices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user*
    Then, try the Get Info->select Open with VLC, click the Change all button, and restart.

  • Play audio from file to speaker with Media Foundation

    I'm attempting to play the audio track from an mp4 file to my speaker. I know Media Foundation is able to decode the audio stream as I can play it with the TopoEdit tool.
    In the sample code below I'm not using a media session or topology. I'm attempting to manually connect the media source to the sink writer. The reason I want to do this is that I ultimately intend to be getting the source samples from the network rather than
    from a file.
    The error I get on the pSinkWriter->WriteSample line when running the sample below is MF_E_INVALIDREQUEST (0xC00D36B2). So I suspect there's something I haven't wired up correctly.
