Keynote 6.0 seems to break LaTeXiT: workarounds?

I use LaTeXiT to place equations in my Keynote presentations. In Keynote 6.0, I can still copy equations from LaTeXiT into Keynote, but I can't copy equations from Keynote back into LaTeXiT. Does anyone know of a workaround?

I am working quite a lot now  with Keynote 6 and LaTeXiT, and find two sorts of work flow convenient:
(1) Put a brand new formula on your slide
(1.1) Format formula with LaTeXiT
(1.2) Drag and drop pdf formula from uper window of LaTeXiT onto some suitable directory in finder.
        This creates a pdf file containing the formatted formula
(1.3) Drag and drop the pdf file with formula  from finder to Keynote slide
(1.4) Re-position formula with Format --> Arrange ---> Position in Keynote if neccessary
(2) Modify and existing formula on your slide
(2.1) Now you should have a formula pdf file in some directory, as sketched in (1)
(2.2) Drag and drop formula file from  finder directory to upper window of LaTeXiT.
(2.3) Modify and re-format formula with LaTeXiT
(2.4) Drag and drop the formula into finder directory
(2.5) Mark old formula on slide
(2.6) Use Format --> Image --> Replace in Keynote, select new formula in file selection menu
(2.7) In several cases, the new formula will not fit properly on the slide.
       Then press Format -> Arrange -> Original Size. This should display the picture properly, and you can
        re-size it according to your needs

    welcome tencupsdavid to the  iMovie boards..
    obviously, you totally miss the basic functions of this edit app, e.g. chapter markers have for sure absolutely no effect on the length of a projectc nor on an export..
    please use the Help feature of iMovie how to import, drag clips into timeline, how to edit those clips and how to export just selected clips o a project's timeline...
    aside: this board is about version 5 of iMovie (HD= vers.5, iMovie6= vers. 6, iM08= version 7)... if you need addtional help, check which version is in use.. (=different versions/diff. help, advices...)

    Posted this before I realised there is an update for the iPhoto app 9.1.3 which sorts the problem.

  • Package seems to break when distributed with SCCM 2012

    Hello.
    I made a package with an old Java version and a link to the locally installed IE, that opens a special webpage.
    When i install this manually with the
    AppV_DeployNPublish tool on my testmachine (that is a copy of a domain computer), the package works. It opens the webpage and uses the Java in the package (checked with ProcessExplorer). I can even upgrade the java or delete it and it works.
    But when we deploy it with the SCCM 2012 to a domain computer, tha package seems to break. It opens the webpage but uses the local installed Java (checked again with ProcessExplorer), that ends with the software doesn't work. We must use an old java version
    to get the software to function properly!
    We are using the App-V 4.6.2 version...
    Why is it like this?
    Regards,
    Peter

    To properly isolate Java you need to make sure the AppData\LocalLow\Sun folder is part of your App-V package. Also adding the -noframemerging switch to the IE command line can help as sometimes it likes to latch onto the IE process already running outside
    the bubble rather than starting a new one.

  • Xorg update seems to break ATI Catalyst

    Hi all
    Just a quick note for users of the proprietary ATI Catalyst driver, the latest Xorg update seems to break it (at least on my system).
    Boot sequence proceeds as normal until GDM loads, then the screen oscillates slowly between black and white.
    Any suggested fix?

    Hi there
    Did Pacman upgrade your kernel alongside Xorg?. Maybe you need to rebuild the fglrx module.
    Best of Luck

  • "ifstream integer" seems to break the stream in Xcode 4.

    I have a piece of code which is used to compile and work on every platform I tested, but after updating to Xcode 4, it started do behave oddly...
    (this is not working, which used to work before Xcode 4)
    int total;
    char buf[1024];
    ifstream ci;
    [... some code ... everything ok]
    ci >> buf; //buf is filled ok
    [... more code ... everything ok]
    ci >> total; //total contains an invalid value, it should be 629, but gives me 88844(even if I edit the file to any other number)
    ci >> buf; //buf is becomes empty, and everything reading ci will read empty
    [... some code ... nothing using ci works anymore]
    I found out if passing the number to the same char buffer I was using didn't break it... so I managed to fix it using atoi.
    (this is working with Xcode 4)
    int total;
    char buf[1024];
    ifstream ci;
    [... some code ... everything ok]
    ci >> buf; //buf is filled ok
    [... more code ... everything ok]
    ci >> buf; // buf is filled correctly with "629" characters
    const char * totalStr = buf;
    total = atoi(totalStr); // converts to int correctly
    ci >> buf; // every other thing is still working!! yay!
    [... some code ... ok!]
    It seems doing "ifstream >> integer" is breaking the stream... and if I initialize total variable before "ci >> total" the value still the same... so the >> operator is returning before the conversion even apply on the variable.
    I managed to fix it, but I still think the first code was correct, and I'm afraid I face other problems like this on Xcode 4...
    Why is that happening? Any ideas?

    I found out this flag on my project file(on Preprocessor Macros) was the cause:
    GCCPREPROCESSORDEFINITIONS = GLIBCXXDEBUG=1 GLIBCXX_DEBUGPEDANTIC=1
    I'm not sure what it does... I'm not sure even why it is there. But after deleting it, it worked. Sorry to bother you all with this.

  • Upgrade from 10.1.0.4 - 10.1.0.5 seems to break ArcIMS/ArcSDE

    Hello All,
    We were recently obliged to upgrade to 10.1.0.5 to address a replication bug, and doing this seems to have re-introduced a problem w/ ArcIMS/ArcSDE. The problem is w/ geodetic areas larger than 1/2 surface of earth, not all of the expected data are returned. Once you zoom in, all the data are correctly returned. The behaviour is identical to a problem that was fixed w/ the release of ArcIMS/ArcSDE 9.1.
    Strange thing here though is that the only thing that changed w/ our system to reintroduce this problem was the upgrade to 10.1.0.5 - The ESRI software was not modified.
    I realize that this is at least partially an ESRI problem, but given that the Oracle upgrade seems to have triggered the problem I was hoping that someone here could help me.
    Thanks!
    -- john

    Hello All,
    We were recently obliged to upgrade to 10.1.0.5 to
    address a replication bug, and doing this seems to
    have re-introduced a problem w/ ArcIMS/ArcSDE. The
    problem is w/ geodetic areas larger than 1/2 surface
    of earth, not all of the expected data are returned.John,
    You are not supposed to have any geometries in SDO that are larger than 1/2 the surface of the earth. Exactly 1/2 is fine (I use two square polygons for ocean backdrop), but any more that is illegal. Here's why:
    ESRI uses a planer (flat earth) data model. That is, everything is defined on a plane, even for geodetic, and then "unprojected" to do the math (using 16-bit integer coordinates). Blocky and crude, old school. Only 32k points in each direction to cover the entire planet. We have an application that actually uses geodetic coordinates, but needs a local boundary so that we can actually store some detail. Crazy!
    Oracle SDO uses a "round" earth model for geodetic. It also stores coordinates using NUMBER as a "floating point" (not internally, but it works that way) with up to 38 digits to represent the value. Very precise, and we can store data for any place on the planet with high precision.
    Thus the mismatch...
    You also (the last time I tried it), cannot draw a single line from say, London to the pole, and then back down to Anchorage in the ESRI model, since it cannot be correctly mapped to a flat surface. However, this is perfectly valid for geodetic SDO geometries, which is nice, since planes might actually do this.
    From the Spatial User Guide:
    6.2.4 Other Considerations and Requirements with Geodetic Data
    ...The following size limits apply with geodetic data:
    ■ No polygon element can have an area larger than one-half the surface of the Earth.
    In a line, the distance between two adjacent coordinates cannot be greater than or
    equal to one-half the perimeter (a great circle) of the Earth.

  • Language packs seem to break spell-check language selection

    I suspect this is a bug, but maybe I am doing something wrong, so I'll ask here before submitting a bug report.
    I have Thunderbird 31.2.0 installed on OS X Mavericks. I am pretty sure it is the en-GB version, but I have several language packs installed, including the (presumably redundant) en-GB pack. I also have installed (and sometimes uninstalled) the add-ons "Quick Locale Switcher" and "Simple Locale Switcher" at various times to switch the user interface language. (The reason I have included the two is, I had the "Quick" switcher first, and suspected what I was seeing might be a bug in the add-on, so I switched to the other.)
    Now, the symptom. When the user interface language is set as en-GB, the spell-checker language choice in the "Preferences" menu (I guess "Options" in Windows, and I don't know what in Linux) is respected - I can type an email in one language, stop, switch the spell-checker language half way through, and the real-time spell-checking is then by the new language exactly as I would have expected. But, when the user interface language is anything other than en-GB (I haven't tried en-US, but I have tried German and Russian), the spell-check language follows the user interface language, and changing the spell-check language option in the "Preferences" menu has no effect whatsoever on anything.
    This problem persisted even after I removed the two language-switching add-ons. Then, I removed all the language packs (which forced my user interface back into en-GB), and magically the spell-check language selection started working again.
    So I am thinking the problem is driven by the user interface being from a language pack. When the user interface language matches the original install language, the spell-check language selection works; when the user interface language is something else, the spell-check language selection is ignored, and the actual spell-check language follows the user interface language.
    The "Simple Locale Switcher" does not seem to allow the user interface language and the spell-check language to be switched independently, but "Quick Locale Switcher" does. However, this feature doesn't seem to work, nor does switching the spell-check language through the Thunderbird Preferences rather than the add-on (unless the user interface language is the default en-GB).
    Has any one else seen a problem like this? Is there a way to fix it? (Maybe futz with the language settings on the other side of the "Here Be Dragons" warning?)

    Before chasing dragons, right click in the body of a mail in the compose window and set the spell check language there. I have no idea if it will work, but it might add to the over all body of knowledge for a bug report.
    Please post a link to any bug report you make.

    None of the steps have solved the issue of getting an activation error when trying to sign in to FaceTime. Worked fine before latest iOS update. Apple has really started to go downhill since jobs checked out.

    Here are two, long, ongoing discussions about the same problem. Maybe you can find seem help in one of them. I really do understand your frustration and I wish that I had an answer for you. The update to iOS 8.1.3 was supposed to address this issue, but for many it didn't work.

  • "clock save interval" seems to break ntp

    Someone asked me how close to "reality" ntp would keep a router clock and I didn't know so started graphing the "offset" on an 877 running 15.1(4)M6.
    I enclose the first few days worth of this as "ntp-week.png" and just the last 24 hours in "ntp-day.png".
    As one can see the offset is mostly a few tens of milliseconds but there are spikes up to 1.4s from time to time. After a few days I noticed that when these happened, they seemed to be 8 hours apart or sometimes multiples of 8 hours. I later discovered that some of the spikes are less than 5 minutes long so MRTG never sees them and in fact they seem to be every 8 hours as far as I can tell.
    It occurred to me that I had the command "clock save interval 8" in the config, as seems to be recommended when using ntp on a device with no battery-backed clock. So I removed it, and since then the "offset" has never gone over 6ms.
    Has anyone else experienced "clock save interval" apparently causing problems for ntp like this?

    I would not do it except an error comes up, because many unwanted changes in the file appear with IDML export.

  • New update to 3.15.5 seems to break bootloader, getting black screen

    I did 'pacman -Syu' last night and today all I get is a black screen after post.  It's the same behavior that I get with the live arch image when trying to use UEFI boot.  I am posting this from a fedora live image right now.  I originally had to install Arch via the Fedora live image via chroot, back in April.  The machine is a ThinkPad T440s.

  • Save As...  Indesign (2014) seems to break files.

    A typical workflow for our Creatives is:
    Once original is set up. a few days later someone wants a change to it.
    They typically open the file, chose Save As... Create a V2 or V3 and save it.
    And make the changes to the new version.
    If the file was originally created in Indesign CC and now the user is on Indesign CC (2014) When doing the Save As... and creating a new version. that goes ok.
    The issue is, now the newly created version takes up to 20 minutes to actually open in Indesign CC (2014), and just crashes. completely locks up.
    It's been tried with multiple files, both directly off the server storage, and the local machine, so it's not the server...
    I've tried multiple machines and it still happens, so it's not the computer..
    But, it does not happen with ALL InDesign files, some work great, and no problems.
    I'm stuck..
